Kitty Pryde The text message arrives on Colleen's phone without any actual text. Just a picture. A self of Kitty, holding up a bag of Greek takeout. In the background are a few recognizable store fronts which place the picture only about a block or so away from Colleen's home in the dojo.

Which means Kitty will be arriving imminently. Probably with gyros and lamb and a bunch of other delicious stuff. Unless Colleen texts her back that she's not there or is busy, at least.
Colleen Wing The text is sent back to Kitty. /Let yourself in. You still have a key right? I am so not getting off this couch right now. Can't wait to see you...or at least the food./ When Kitty enters the living area of the Chikara Dojo, she would see Colleen literally laying flat out on the couch, facing the opening to the actual dojo and comepletely at ease. Her hair is down for once, but a bit wild and no attempt to tame it has been made. she is clothed in a simple t-shirt with a pig on it in a karate uniform with the words: Pork Chop on it as well as a pair of shorts.

Upon seeing her friend she lifts a leg and waves a barefoot to her, pulling said leg and the other back with a pat to the couchin the spot that has now been freed. "You have caught me at my best my friend. Am I not the most lovely thing you have ever seen." She smirks and shifts a bit to sit herself up a bit more.
Kitty Pryde Taking her shoes off before entering the dojo, Kitty doesn't make much sound as she approaches the doorway to the living area. So she raps her knuckles lightly on the doorframe to help announce herself.

The Jewish girl's face becomes all soft smile at the sight of Colleen Wing. Kitty walks over to join Colleen, setting the bag down on the coffee table that has so often served as their table. "You are the most lovely sight I could hope for," Kitty says in a tone touched with earnest emotion. And she wraps Colleen in a hug that carries some of that emotion as well. "God I've missed you," Kitty says before letting Colleen go.
Colleen Wing Colleen moves in to accept the hug, wrapping her arms warmly around her dear friend and tucking her face into the other girls shoulder, not wanting to let go for a moment. It is an embrace of sincerity and affection and when the hug is released she sinply stares at her friends face a moment as her hand raises to lightly cup the side of the face of the girl before her. "Not as much as I have missed you Kitkat. Life has a way of taking us in different directions is all. And then you realize that simething things in life come and go, but there are very few things you can depend on to always be there."

Her hand slowly pulls away from the cheek and she shakes her head with a smile. "If you think I am a lovely sight right now Kitty, you may want to have your eyes checked." It was true, Colleen was the epitome of slumming it right now, something few people ever got to see; Kitty an exception. "I heard about..." She stops what she was saying and softly adds with a grabbing of Kitty's hand. "Just means you can crash here more..."
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde leans her forehead in against Colleen's during the gentle touch to Kitty's face. Colleen knows her well enough she'll be able to tell Kitty seeking her out today wasn't just the normal desire to see her friend. But maybe one of those days where she needed someone.

The bag is picked up and opened, Kitty pulling the to go containers out. "Heard about...?" Kitty repeats, before the following comment clues her in. Kitty's tone turns quieter, a little somber. "Ah. Yeah. It's a bit in the past now. New Years to New Years we lasted," she says. "Still love him. Just, we didn't fit in each other's lives," Kitty says, her eyes drifting away from Colleen as if losing herself in her thoughts for a moment.

After a few seconds she resumes opening up the food. All their Greek favorites. "Thanks. I might do that, if it's ok," Kitty says of crashing there more. "Oh, and I got you something," she says. She reaches into her bag and pulls out a small box, just a little larger than would fit in a hand. Kitty offers it over.
Colleen Wing Collen positions herself on the couch so that she is sitting up more fully, placing her feet on the floor, but sliding a bit closer over to her friend. "I know. It's just I have not been the best of friends since then when you probabnly needed me. And I have a lot of guilt over that." She runs a hand through her wild hair and looks over to her. "It's done. And going forward I am going to be there for you like I always was. So you can get used to that. Yes." She gives the girl a slightly shy smile.

"You know you are always welcome here Kitty. Nobody else has a key to this place except for Danny now. Oh yeah Danny. We can talk about that later. I think its temporary. Long story, not for right now." She begins to reach into the back to search around for something to eat, but her hands stops midway when the box is offered to her, pulling her hand out empty and raising a brow to the girl beside her. "You got me something? You know you did not have to Kitty. I mean I am not going to turn it down."

Like a child on Christmas morning she slowly opens the box and look at what is inside. When she sees the phone inside with the dragon logo on it she bites her lower lip and turns to face he friend, her eyes actually showing some signs of watering. "I don't deserve this. Kitty. Oh my god." She fumbles it out of the box and turns it over in her hands a few times before setting it down on the couch beside her and exhaling softly. Her arms then find herself around the girl once more, pulling her close. "Thank you. Why are you so good to me?" She has ye tto let go.
Kitty Pryde The hug is a tighter on than before, even. Kitty rests her head against Colleen's, a hand moving up brush her fingers over her cheek. "You deserve it. You deserve so much," Kitty tells her softly.

The hug lingers for quite awhile before finally Kitty lets go. "Ok, let me help you get it set up. So... this is of my own making," Kitty says, and blushes just a tiny bit. Colleen will know that Kitty has a pair of degrees from Oxford including one in Computer Engineering. But this might be the first real insight into the kind of skills she has there.

"It has a facial recognition unlock feature. But it's smarter than those dumb ass Apple ones that a picture will unlock it. It'll do a retinal scan as well as verify your face. And you want to pick a direction you're going to look each time. That way someone can't unlock it while you're unconscious just by pulling your eyelid back."

Kitty starts up the configuration for the lock and has Colleen go through the steps. "Can also unlock it with a code and the other normal ways if you like. And if you have problems with it, I can connect back into it to fix it, or upgrade the OS as I add improvements," she says.
Colleen Wing Retinal scans, secret phone codes. Collen was used to a phone where she swiped her finger in a fairly predictable pattern and there was her homescreen. However, it was very clear that she was excited about the new gadget. "Wait you designed this? Like made it? What the hell Kitty. I knew you were smart and stuff but.." She pauses and shakes her head with a smile to her friend. "You never cease to suprise me. I mean seriously, I did not think that tiny body could put down a pint of Ben and Jerry's so fast."

As the phone is explained and the setup procedure begun, Colleen pays attention and ties not to blink, as if she thinks it has to like catch her eye perfectly. Can't be blinking. Or at least Collen thinks she can't.

"This is..amazing Kitty. It no, besides my Katana is the most expensive thing I own. There is no way I am going to be able to repay such a gift anytime soon." She turns her eyes once more to the girl beside her. "And you made this for me?"
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde breaks out in giggles at the Ben and Jerry's comment. "It's not easy, avoiding the brain-freeze," she retorts. They get through the basic setup, and Kitty shows Colleen how to navigate around it. There are definitely some features that WayneTech could stand to add in.

"Yeah, it's kind of... ah, let's call it a hobby," she says. "And you've no need to repay anything. I've been wanting to do this for you for awhile," Kitty says. "Tell you just how much you mean."

There's a soft throat-clearing, and Kitty looks away as she rubs at an eye. "Oh, and you can use it to broadcast to your TV with a simple voice command or a few buttons," she says. Actually it can hack most TVs and do that, though that feature will remain hidden behind some locks for the time being.
Colleen Wing Colleen holds the phone in her hand and simply stares at it a moment. It is the most advanced thing she has ever owned and she raises a brow to her friend with a softly spoken question. "I can still text and call you on it right? I mean it can do that still?" SHe points it at the TV and flicks her hand a bit, then simpply states loudly as if she has to. "Hallmark Channel." She is ore than liekly doing it wrong, but she is going to make the attempt."

Collen is then silent a moment as she looks at the girl beside her on the couch. The phone is then set down upon the table in front of her with the greatest of care and she slowly rises from the couch, aking her way over to her dresser beside the bed. The top drawer is pulled out and a small wooden box is removed and set down on top of the dresser. A slow and gentle hand opens the box and something is taken out from it, clutched in her closed hand as she makes her way back to the couch. "Close your eyes.

Kitty would sense Collen behind her on the couch, kneeling at her back and then something being placed around her neck. Colleen's warm breath felt on Kitty's neck as she whispers her words. "This is very old. Very old. It has given to me by my grandfather. And it has sat in that box in my drawer since I came to Manhattan."

She pauses in her words as she closes the clasp, letting the pendant fall to Kitty's chest. "It is /Chisana Ryu/. The Little Dragon. Just like myself and your little friend. This way, when you are not here...I will always be there should you need me. I know it's not a phone, but...just don't lose it okay." SHe moves to sit on the couch before her friend once more, smiling

Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde spies Colleen suspiciously as she goes over to rummage in the dresser. Her head tilts, trying to see what Colleen is doing, until the request to close her eyes.

Letting out a sigh of good-natured exasperation, Kitty closes her eyes and waits. Her head tilts again slightly at the feeling of the necklace going around her neck. She opens her eyes then and lifts the pendant so she can see it more clearly. "Oh, Colleen. This is beautiful. And... oh, you really shouldn't," Kitty says, tearing up just a little bit. Family means so much to her, and so she realizes what it means for Colleen to entrust Kitty with this.

She leans over to give Colleen a long hug. "Sorry I haven't been been by more. Will try to amend that," she promises.

The food is waiting and finally they dig back in. Kitty shows Colleen how to have the phone play from Kitty's server of movies and music, which has just about any movie Colleen could hope for. The food is consumed and sappy movies are watched, well into the night.
