Owner Pose
Warren Worthington Warren leans against the railing on the balcony off the first floor living room of his penthouse. He is barefoot, dressed in light coloured jeans and a loose, white t-shirt that gets picked at by the morning breeze. He can see for miles and miles, but his eyes are unfocused and he is lost in thought.

"Sir, I found what Miss Alana was asking about," Warren's butler Niall says. "Shall I return her laptop to her?"

"Hmm?" Warren responds, distracted. "Yeah, please. Neither of us are interested in seeing each other. Take the day off, too. You've been working too hard."

Niall thanks Warren and discreetly lets himself out.
Kitty Pryde The store front catches Kitty's eye as she runs an errand before heading back up to Westchester. A bakery set on a Manhattan street, just a block away from One Manhattan Park. It had been one of those places saved to be a special treat when she'd lived nearby, rather than a regular stop. In particular they had something that was a big favorite of Warren's, and Kitty had enjoyed being able to make it a surprise for him that he never quite expected.

Pausing on the sidewalk, she casts her eyes down the street at the towering building that she'd called home for the previous year. A moment's indecision keeps her on the spot, before mind made up, Kitty goes inside to make a purchase.

Not long after she emerges, a box with that favorite of Warren's in it dangling from her hand by the strings that tie it. She pulls out a phone and taps off a text message to him:

> Was passing by Bobo's and got your favorite. Don't know if you're even in town let alone home, but I can leave it at the desk to take up?
Warren Worthington Warren's phone buzzes and he fishes it out of his pokcet. "If it's about the merger again I'm turning this..."

Warren's voice trails off when he sees the name on the notification. His wings flare a smidge in surprise. Those notifications used to be so regular, he could have taken them for granted. But for months they were few and far between.

Rarely hesitant, it takes Warren a few minutes and two starts and stops to answer.

>That's really sweet of you! I'm home :)

He brushes the keyboard with his thumb by accident as he goes to hit shift and the message sends. He stares at his phone for a moment, makes a face and tucks it away.

At the building, a familiar face appears holding the door for Kitty.

"Miss Pryde? This is unexpected," Niall says warmly. "Beautiful day, isn't it? Is that for Mr. Worthington? Best take it up, new rules about suspicious packages."

Niall is dressed to run some errand and has a laptop tucked under one arm. He pulls out his keycard with his free hand and offers it to Kitty.

"You should take it up, it's for the best. I will use my spare when return tomorrow."
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde hadn't really expected Warren to be at home. That their lives had ended up having so much trouble meshing had been a big part of their amiable parting. So when she sees the message, there's a brief jumble of emotions.

She hasn't seen him since that day she moved her things out a half year ago. Just enough messages since to not put any burden on the other, but enough that it avoided any feeling of ghosting. And she really wasn't anticipating doing so today.

"Well, it'll be nice to see him," she says honestly to herself, and begins the short walk to the skyscraper. The sight of Niall is a pleasant surprise as he happens to be at the door. "Hello Niall. And please, Kitty," she tells him with a soft smile. "It is a lovely day. I hope you're well," she says. She takes the keycard when offered. "Thank you," she tells him. He knows her well enough Niall can surely tell there's a little jumble of emotions in her as she heads over to the private elevator. A wave is given to the staff at the desk, who also haven't seen her in months.

Kitty glances down at herself in the elevator. She's wearing jeans, with a white tank top tee and then a royal blue button up shirt overtop, but left undone to not be too hot on the warm June day. The elevator door chimes and she steps out into the familiar penthouse, the tied box from Bobo's dangling from her hand as she looks to see if Warren is there, and if not, will call out his name softly to announce her arrival.
Warren Worthington Niall wishes Kitty well and slips into a waiting car. The familiar, warm greetings from the staff put immediate lie to the thought anyone here would think anything Kitty left was suspicious.

"Is that?" Kitty hears a familiar voice. Warren appears in the balcony door and pauses. Backlit by the morning sun, his face expression is hard to read. "Kit?"

Warren sweeps across the intervening space, all smiles. He tilts his curiously and gives her one of his famously playful smiles.

"Did you sneak past them all, or do you have agents planted on the inside?" he jokes. "It's good to see you, you look great. Is that really? I haven't been in there in so long. Can I carry that?"

The words come quickly, the smile is warm, but he hesitates when he comes closer half reaching for the box and half opening to Kitty.
Kitty Pryde The warm sunlight draping over Warren sets his golden hair to glowing, and brings out the brilliant white of his wings. Kitty can be forgiven if it makes her feel a tug or two on her heart. Her face lights up with a warm smile for him as she slips off her shoes and then moves over to greet him.

"Hey," she says, letting him take custody of the box of baked goods. There's at most a quarter second of indecision on how to greet him, before she offers him a big, tight hug that she'll let him decide when to release. "You're a sight for sore eyes," she tells him. "Sorry for dropping in without much notice. Had stopped at an electronics place looking for a part, on my way back from Chinatown and... well, here I am."
Warren Worthington Warren's arms close around Kitty when she hugs him and he holds her close. Kitty feels Warren shoulders relax. He laughs.

"Don't apologize, I'm glad, honestly," Warren assures Kitty and without thinking kisses the top of her head. "It's been too long."

The moment stretches just a little longer then Warren steps back, one hand left on Kitty's shoulder. "You do look great."

Warren turns and starts for the stairs to the second floor. "Coffee? Still take it the same? Niall has this new roast you won't believe. From Italy," Warren says conversationally. He heads upstairs.

Nothing has changed. The decor is the same, even the touches Kitty made. Warren slides Kitty a cup of coffee made to her liking and puts the pastries on a plate for them to share. "How are you? I'm so... Out of the loop."
Kitty Pryde There's a rush of memories during the hug, and the younger woman is content to be held in his arms and against his chest until finally they part. "It has been too long. I wanted to make sure to give you space and, well, it was getting past that point, wasn't it?" she says.

Kitty smiles at the compliment. "Thanks, you do too," she tells Warren, before following him up the stairs. "Yes, thank you. I hope I'm not keeping you from anything," she tells him as she glances around the place. Though she didn't change too much, a few knickknacks they picked out together catch her eye.

And a picture frame on the mantle above the fireplace. Currently it is showing a newspaper clipping of a daring rescue of a crashing small plane, with an indistinct image of a winged figure just leaving it holding someone else. The electronic picture frame's image changes, and shows a woman in her forties, at a cookout with two children.

It was Kitty's first present to Warren. Clippings of every person whose life he'd ever saved that she was aware of. And then a picture or clip of them that showed in some fashion what they'd gone on to do later in life. Images of families raised, of doctors, of volunteers. An ever-changing set of images that documented the impact that Angel had had upon the world.

The offer of the coffee turns her attention back to him and she takes the cup. "I'm good. I've been staying at the school. Mostly focused on it for the last few months. I let my contracts at JVD and Fisk end without trying to renew them," she says. The latter, allowing her to not be in the city as much, probably help her with adjusting. "Though I'm considering getting something again. Maybe Wayne Tech. Or Stark Industries. I don't know yet. I've been watching their postings but haven't found the perfect thing yet. How about you? How is the company doing?"
Warren Worthington Warren has been letting his hair get longer. He tucks it behind one ear after he finishes pouring their coffees. Warren turns in time to catch Kitty looking at the photo frame, but gives no sign he notices.

"You let them go?" Warren says, looking surprised and a little concerned. "I thought you were excited about those, you were doing really well. But whoever you, they'd be insane so not to take you. You're too good. Just... Not Frost, I can't afford her to be even more competitive with me right now," Warren jokes.

"Things are good, they're good. I finally have the board under control, it wasn't easy. They weren't used to me running things. The last quarter has seen some big improvements, we're finally getting close to mutants being the same share of entry level employees as they are in the population, so now it's just..." Warren stops and laughs. The uncharacteristic seriousness and drive that took over passes an errant cloud.

"I was away, a lot, but I moved back in a few weeks ago. I even stopped by the school. Something Charles said caught up with me... I shouldn't... I'm supposed to be around."
Kitty Pryde Kitty takes a sip of her coffee as she listens to Warren. Not that the school doesn't have pretty good coffee, after all they can afford their own stealth jet, but still they don't really have Niall's sense of taste for the beverage. She doesn't say anything to interrupt, but her expression expresses her enjoyment of the drink.

As she listens, Kitty opens up the box from Bobo's so Warren can help himself. "Well, it's good having you around," she says with a soft smile. "But, you're also entitled to your life, however you want to live it. If that means other things take time, then they take time," she says. "But, it'll be good to see you around more. Lockheed will be happy to see you." Not that the little dragon didn't already like him, but he ended up closer to Warren than during their time in the mansion.
Warren Worthington Warren looks faintly embarrassed for just a second. "I know, there's still only so much time to go around and even /I/ can't have it all. Apparently I have to make choices, and set priorities in my life," Warren says with a playful sneer. He picks one of the pastries and takes a bite. Warren closes his eyes and a slow smile creeps across his face.

"So good, every time. Remember that time you brought me these and we ate them on top of that building to watch the sunset, and we had to take off when security came?" Warren asks and laughs.
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde gets one of the pastries after Warren, nibbling it and letting out a sigh. She breaks out in soft laughter. "They'd probably have made us walk down if we hadn't," she counters with another laugh.

She leans back in her seat, tearing off a small bit of the pastry and eating it. "I miss going flying," she tells him. "There's nothing quite like it. No roar of the Blackbird engine drowning everything out. Just peace and the feel of the wind," Kitty says, smiling at some of the memories that come.

"I still don't make it over to Katz's as much as I'd like. Less, even, now that I'm back in Westchester most of the time. My friend Colleen is back in her dojo and got it reopened now that things are settling down," Kitty says, probably referring to an invasion of misguided angels that caused Manhattan to be evacuated and turned into a war zone for a few days. "More excuse to get into the city and drag her out there," she says.
Warren Worthington Warren laughs with Kitty at the shared memory of fleeing security. He watches Kitty's face as she talks about flying. That bright, charming smile softens.

"I met Colleen the other day," Warren says with a chuckle. "She seems really nice. And if she's going to make sure you're in city more, I like her already."

Warren puts his coffee down and looks at Kitty. He slips around the kitchen island.

"You don't have to miss flying, you know," he says. Warren slides his hand onto the countertop beside Kitty's, palm up. "We could go, right now. Just... Soar."
Kitty Pryde Another sip of the coffee is given another expression of appreciation. "Please compliment Niall on the coffee for me," she comments to Warren. "He really nailed it this time, didn't he?"

Kitty sets her cup down as she leans against the counter on her hands, a smile coming at hearing Warren met her. "She didn't mention that," Kitty says. "You know, I met her in a Chinese market, when I was looking for a gift for Shan for her birthday," the Jewish girl shares. "She helped me pick out a red lantern, made sure I got something that the color was the proper meaning," Kitty says of the gift for Xi'an Coy Manh. "And we just, instantly clicked. Like I'd known her my whole life."

Kitty looks up at the offer of flying and the touch to her hand. "Well," she says, smiling and looking down from Warren. "I don't think I could say no to such an offer, now could I?" Her other hand picks up her coffee, she only had a sip or two left and she finishes it rather than wasting it. Kitty slips off the longer sleeve shirt she had atop her tank top so it doesn't billow around in the air too much. "Ok," she says, giving his hand a squeeze and letting him lead to the balcony.
