Monet St. Croix The New York Public Library. One of the largest public libraries outside of hte United States Library of Congress. A relaxed, quiet place focused on learning and exploration. A place of solitude and temperance. On this day, Monet St. Croix has been in need of a refuge. The girl has gone in, taken out some books of varying, minor natures that are large and thick, assembled them over on a table, and is just reading.
Patience Alperen The nice thing about being a demon and monster hunting agent for the Roman Catholic Church, is that in the off hours it is extremely easy to clean up, toss some street clothes on and go out without anyone really the wiser.

The quiet brunette entering this section of the library could be interchangable with any other college aged woman anywhere else. She is not unattractive, she would say, but she is not trying to turn heads. She's just, well, herself.

Moving along with wireless earbuds in, she listens to music in her own insular little bubble as she curiously studies the signage on the end of each long row of books. She seems to have a destination that she has not, yet, found.
Monet St. Croix The music coming out of the earbuds is quiet, but Monet St. Croix has slightly enhanced hearing, so at least she can pick it up some. She debates whether to engage then, and finally goes to speak up, "That is a rather poor quality composition."

Going to push her own books away while just passively giving the other woman a flat look that is not particularly irritated, just more generally commenting.
Patience Alperen The faintly picked up music and lyrics are of the Rolling Stones, Sympathiy For The Devill.

Please allow me to introduce myself..

The music is not loud; She doesn't want to lose touch with her surroundings, it is simply a sound track with which to frame her current endeavors. A curious look is offered toward the other woman and she pauses, "I'm sorry?" She tilts her head, "Was my music too loud? I apologize.."
Monet St. Croix It's not loud, particularly up against her ears, but for one that has enhanced hearing even with that it's still pick uppable. "The tune you're listening to is a poor quality recording and broadcast." Monet St. Croix's tone is flat. How was she hearing it anyways? It wasn't disturbing at all.

Or maybe she was one of those 'you look like you're having fun here, this is a library' style?
Patience Alperen Patience Alperen pauses to conisder the statement. She then takes out her phone and looks at the screen.

And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain..

She stops the music and then nods. "Yes, it is. Unfortunately I can't afford the Ultra HD subscription plan. I am thankful for what I have. In the city, there is so much background noise, the higher quality would be lost, for me." She offers a polite smile, not wanting to make a thing about her own limitations she had not solicited input on as it was.

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name..
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would shrug over, "there are other ways to improve broadcast quality. In any case, it can also have to do with the methods youlisten to it. Higher quality and carefully selected listening devices allow often for better enjoyment, if you are an audiophile. But if one does not care then there is no real reason to do it. But if one is listening to music for enjoyment and for personal meaning, then it can make it much more enjoyable."
Patience Alperen Patience Alperen pauses as she is given this explanation. Somehow she has been made to regret her life choices when all she wanted to do was have a quiet listen to music as she sought out a number of books she knew were in the library.

Softly she nods, "I'm certain you're right." She pauses. "I'm sorry for have disturbed you." With an apologetic dip of her head, Patience turns to continue on her way down the aisle, still in search of the right section and row.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would shake her head over and then glance at the rows, "What are youlooking for? The least I can do to make amends for having been rude an dinterrupting your search for peace is by helping you find what you are after. Is there any particular thing you are pursuing in a section?"

Wait, someone apologizing to her and offering to help? In New York?
Patience Alperen Patience Alperen smiles and looks back, shaking her head, "Oh, you don't need to interrupt your reading further because of me. I do know where I'm going, but thank you. As they say, not all who wander are lost." It's as polite as she can be in declining help she hadn't asked for any more than she had the judgment on her musical tastes and qualities.

"Have a lovely day" she offers with a final dip of her head as she turns to continue onward.
