Tabitha Smith While a lot of reports from the Dox-M website end up in horror shows. Sometimes it is only a matter of time, or someother times it can be avoided. One such is of two young siblings from Birmingham, Alabama. Theo and Will Black. The report was that they had some accoustic powers. But nothing that could be considered especially dangerous

What made things a worry was not the powers but reports from Mole Trolls in some of the more egregious anti mutant message boards. A congregation of the purifiers from a nearby town were planning on having an anti-mutant protest marching past the kids' home. Luckily not all of the paramilitary hardware makes it everywhere.

So to hopefully make things safer. Some members of the Xavier School and a few other X-Adjacent folks were tapped or roped in to fly down to offer them a place in the school for the next year. And mostly to make sure it's cool with their folks.

The flight down was nice and easy enough. The Blackbird cloaked and landed in a private airfield and a decently sized SUV driven through town towards the house.

Said house is your standard two story, plus basement, attic, garage affair in peach coloured rendering over the outside brick work and red clay tiling on the roof. A decent sized front yard and clearly a similar backyard with a decent lawn. Dress code was suggested to be more Professionally Academic than X-Man.

So that means even Tabby behind the wheel had to fly the flags. But since she's not a student or anything besides a resident she just kept the blazer on over a sensible looking long sleeved turtleneck style tee in yellow with rather not so loud dark blue jeans and knee high lace up wedgeheel boots in brown with black laces and a matching belt. Her hair is even up in a bun with her cat eye frames probably making her look older than she actually is.

The amazing thing is that Tabby is not a demoness behind the wheel.
Emma Frost This will be a 'break in and deal with everything' routine. Emma Frost is around for the second part. Her intent is to simply shut down every single mind the group comes across to put them in a vulnerable mode if need be for the others to handle. Emma Frost has been looking forwards to this for awhile. She's in little mood to give mercy. She's in no real mood to hold back.

But she won't leave a few dozen corpses behind. Unfortunately. But she does have to hold some limits. So as the group is heading towards the target, Emma's wearing a professional business outfit, a purse slung over her shoulder, and simply a person ahta'ts based on 'I can buy each and every single person in the room and everything in it' for raw terror in anyone that gets in her path.
Rhona Lauren "We have a jet..." Rhona had said in the Blackbird hangar when she'd been tasked to represent the student body for this mission. "We actually have a Jet..." She repeated as she'd gone aboard it and looked around within it. "This place is either legit a cult, or..." She didn't finish that thought before finding a seat...

The young woman is wearing black denim jeans and a dark wine red tshirt with a black Xaviers School SHIELD logo on the chest. She's got sunglasses tucked in to the neckline of the tshirt and is wearing a smart watch on her right wrist. She glances at it periodically through the flight, eyeing the people flying the Jet here and there after take-off.

"So this is like our school bus?" She'd asked on the way off of the Jet once they arrived, hanging off to the side of the group some, with her left hand on the strap of her black backpack she'd brought with her on this little journey across the country that she's new to, obviously hailing from the UK with her British accent...

She just quietly follows, her brown eyes looking left and right.
Laura Kinney Laura doesn't usually tag along on school related business. Not unless there is a family connection anyway. So there's no chance she'll be flying the school colours! Dressed in bland, easy to overlook charcoal grey yoga pants & hoodie combo. She's tagging along as a favor, you never know when trouble might kick off, her enhanced senses providing a line of defense against threats a telepath might not pick up on.

She remains quiet for the most part. Glancing around and occasionally sniffing the air suspiciously.
Tabitha Smith One good thing so far. They beat any protest arriving by a bit so smooth sailing from there. So when the SUV's engine is shut off all that can be heard is the music. Sounds pretty close to something Lila Cheney might have played if anyone has an ear for music.

So with Tabby climbing out of the drivers seat. She can actually turn to smile at the others.

"More like an extra private jet Rhona. But no we can't just take it to Vegas either. I might but that's because I'm turning twenty one this week and doing something wild is expected. I may wait till the end of the month. There's a few birthdays one eighteenth. Counselor Pryde is also turning the same age as me. There's Betsy as well." she states and scrunches her features up to try and recall who else she needs to add to the list.

"Anyway, lets get into character. If you see any placards and signs down the street try not to counter riot too hard. Beak told me there's like nothing too bad. Just the delightfully dense religious right and all that. "Lotta God Hates Muties' types." she states. "So if they come though, Rhona's got the big job of shielding against any bricks and stuff. You can do big forcefields? House sized?" she asks and shrugs. "But anywhat in the mean time maybe knock on the garage door see if you can meat the kids. I'm on parent duty I guess. Never done the sell the school thing myself." she admits and smiles goofily.

Heading to the front door, Tabby knocks. Little louder than normal but she might need to make sure it's heard over music playing. Better than the door bell at least, which might get drowned out.
Emma Frost Emma Frost has arrived early in with the others over and would move to fold her arms together, "Just smile, say glory be to whatever is mentioned, nod over in agreement and act like you've drunk the Kool Aid. We want to get in and get ourselves established before we make our big move." SHe would nod at Tabitha and smile. going to go along with Tabitha while going to keep her mind in contact with the four.
<<Laura, please do let us know the moment you spot anything that stands out. I'll be keeping all of us linked>> Emma's going to full on scanning mode now. Searching for individuals, threats.. A nd most importantly where teh prisoners are if she can pick them up.
Rhona Lauren Rhona had eyed Laura here and there, but it was clear that she was a 'quiet type' so she didn't try to engage with her much. Instead she just keeps near to Tabi, the one she knows the best on this trip. She does eye Emma though here and there, before looking back to Tabitha. "I've never made a shield bigger than my arm span, I guess. I'm not sure I can make one larger than that, to be entirely honest." She grimly notes before just walking along with Tabitha, and glancing back toward Emma.

"So these are religious types? The bad kind? Got it..."

The young Brit just strokes some loose strands of hair back behind an ear, and puts her other backpack strap on, giving her the classic school aged teen look.

She's right there with Tabi when the door is knocked upon though, feeling only a marginal amount of anxiety at all of this.
Laura Kinney Laura's mind is focused to the point of feeling sharp. Not to mention distinctly unimpressed with the casual telepathic contact without permission. Logan's brood do tend towards being private, not to mention highly independent, and her eyes narrow at Emma.

"While you speak with the family I'll drift through the protest. Check for weapons or anything out of place."

She's already making a move to distance herself from the rest of the group. Hoodie pulled up to obscure her identity. She could easily pass for a member of a pro or anti-mutant group. Or be overlooked entirely if you weren't paying enough attention.
Tabitha Smith With the knock on the door there's an answer with a woman of about average height only slightly opening the door. Emma might not be the only one paranoid, and a strange SUV pulling up in the drive way isn't always a sight to put minds at ease.

The woman, clearly the kids' mother looks a little frazzled, blonde hair, a little on the thicker side of build compared to Emma or Tabitha with a few lines here and there and brown hair that may have been dyed a little to hide the graying that comes with raising two kids with possible targets on their back that comes from being mutants. A light blue sweater and jeans with the knees ripped out covering her.

"Hi, are you Ms Elizabeth Black?" Tabby's smile cheerful. "I'm Tabitha Smith. I'm with the Xavier School in New York. I'm here to talk about your kids Theo and Will. We're here to offer them an educational opportuinity of a lifetime." she greets cheerfully. Through the psi-link Tabby is pretty nervous herself <<I was gonna go with a Hagrid thing more than cult-ish. I like Kool-Aid, and most cults skimp and buy knock offs. And NASA hoards the Tang which is absolutely superior.>> she messages to the group.

The mom smiles politely again. A group of young women does seem less threatening, especially when two of them look like teachers and there's what looks like students.

"I'm Liza Black. I try not to use my full name. I should have gone back to my last name when I divorced my husband." she almost tangents off.

Please come in. I'll get the boys. They're in the garage." she opens the door wider while she turns her head to a side door just inside.

"THEO, WILLY! Get butts in here. You're gonna get educated!" she yells very loudly.

Of course the other half of the problem finally starts making noise a few blocks away. Sensitive ears can here numerous chants and anti mutant rhetoric being yelled. And as Laura moves to keep an eye on them she can actually start to even smell the racism.

It's like Pabst Blue Ribbon, skid marked underwear, and stupidity.
Emma Frost Emma Frost goes to listen attentively now as the chants start up and she goes to smile lightly. Just on time now. Emma goes to put on her best 'everything will be all right' face while letting Laura monitor the situation. She goes to keep her mind out to link the group together, while also going to keep a mental track ifs eh can on the upstanding citizens abusing their right to protest. Emma keeps track of them while presenting a reassuring vibe over to the parents that everything is all right and under control.

If need be they have sufficient firepower on hand to deal wtih anything short of power armor.. In which case they have sufficient explosive power onhand to deal with those and thanks to Emma's stock holdings in major media companies they will of course be painted in the most generous life. "We're here to help give your children a better future." And to keep them safe. Which is not spoken. Emma starts her mental countdown just in case.
Rhona Lauren Rhona is right there when the door opens, and the Mom presents herself. When introductions are given, the young teen just offers a smile. "I'm Rhona... just a student. Here to prove they are real, or something." She says in her obviously foreign accent to this very rural American locale.

When they're ushered in, Rhona spares a glance to Tabi with that telepathic link stuff still a bit new to her, she doesn't respond through it, she just looks around the interior of the home as the Mother goes screaming for her kids. The yell has Rhona looking toward the garage, curious now about the two boys they're here to see... But she just walks calmly around the immediate area within the home, and keeps her thumbs hooked under the straps of her backpack over her shoulders...
Laura Kinney Well that confirms why Laura is here. Trouble is indeed on the way. Her trained nose sniffing the air for signs that the protest is more than just people with unpleasant views. Weapons, explosives or firebombs. The sort of thing you'd find at a protest that never intended to remain peaceful would have.

There's no outward sign she's a mutant and X-23 isn't the sort of person a random protestor might know. So in theory she should be able to keep out of notice. Dropped from the psionic net she instead keys in critical details into a burner phone SMS message. Numbers, estimated arrival time and of course any info about the scale of threat her nose may have picked out.
Tabitha Smith The kids emerfge from that door to the garage. No instruments to be seen inside. No sound proofing either but then it is a garage. Just a beat up old Hyundai hatch back on the far side of the two door car hold.

"Kids, this here's Ms Smith and her friends at a school in New York. You going with them!" The woman might sound a little callous but Emma can pick up that she's worried about the kids. Homeschooled since they were outed as mutants earlier in the school year. Bullied and harrased she had to pull them out, work two jobs with her own harrassment problems as a waitress and a retail clerk.

The kids, both close to the same age and looking clearly like their mom. The woman herself not unattractive at all.

"New York? Wow. Uhh why can't we stay here with you Mom?" Theo, dressed in knee length jorts and an old blue and gray plaid flannelette shirt with sleaves rolled up. Slightly taller of the siblings asks.

"I don't wanna leave you either mommy!" the younger Will declares.

Tabitha smiles at the kids. "Hey. I'm Tabby! That was some pretty tasty stuff playing when we rolled up? You wanna show us a little more?" she asks.

Out on the street the march gets close enough to the house now they can be seen by Rhona as well as Laura in amongst the crowd.

Definitely Purifiers but clearly this is not the higher end of the pecking order. Zealots and followers swung into the hate march. Nothing more than signs and the odd side arm.

The most someone might have on them is the ocasional AR-15 type rifle on their backs but no body has been given some of the fun toys thankfully, leaving the weapons as a BYO option. Clearly the most resistance this mob expected was counter yelling and the possible 'Mutie Loving' cop.
Emma Frost Well, lovely. Emma Frost goes out casually and moves to walk forwards. She gestures with her hands over and goes to put up an aura along herself. She moves to hold up her hand as she comes out with an 'ID'. "I'm Emma Watson, Federal Bureau of Investigation." Emma goes to put up her best 'soulless bureaucrat' sneer over.
She goes to look over at the men that are advancing on her and moves to wlak towards one of the ones holding an AR-15 styled rifle without any sense of fear. At her side is 'holstered' a service pistol (actually purely illusory).
Emma goes forwards casually, "Those stlye of weapons are not remotely legal in this state and we've had quite a few notices of stolen ones. I'm going to need to see your proof of ownership of the guns, citations of military background or showings of federal law enforcement.. Because I've waited my entire career for something like breaking upa gun smuggling ring and all of you are making it way too easy."
Rhona Lauren Rhona offers a wave to the boys when they come in from the garage. Nothing too overly exaggerated, just a raise of her right hand and a little motion, along with a soft smile. This is clearly gonna get awkward though, based on the surprise it seems to be for the kids to find out that their mother is hipping them off to New York. "I'm new to the school myself. IT's great, if that helps." She softly tells them with a light smile before her eyes and ears catch wind of the mob outside.

Rhona draws in a breath, then moves toward the front door to peer outside through a little window beside it.

"Good lord." She mutters before reaching for the handle and stepping back out on to the front steps.

She can see Emma down near the crowd, though doesn't see Laura...

Her hands flex and loosen as she starts to walk toward the front lawn and the gathering nutcases....
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney glides through the crowd. Using the press and motion to discreetly cover her as she lifts ammo from the AR-15 owners. Or otherwise sabotages their equipment so it'll be inoperable. No shooting for these thugs. Not that an angry mob will really need guns to cause problems for the family. Rocks or fists will do the job easy enough.

The other thing she's keeping an ear/eye for is people in charge. Key figures who might be firing up the more moderate voices and driving them towards violence they might otherwise not be inclined for.
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie had came down as soon at they heard they might be trouble, but Sam's job was not to contact the mother and her kids, no Sam has the accent, the working class vibe., Sam had been sent in to find out about the protesters, so there walking with the protesters and close to those who look to be in charge is a blonde young man the ladies may know. He nods a bit seeming to be agreeing at times, but is not chanting.
Tabitha Smith It's clear Tabby is trying to engage the kids enough. And they do respond with a nod and a polite enough smile. Amazingly enough they seem like good kids. And they do answer Tabby's request and those outside can hear music start playing again. Inside. The kids seem to play air guitar and drums. Manipulating the air itself to move at the right frequency to generate sounds. And at some points they switch 'instruments' Theo switching from guitar to drums, and Will from drums to Bass. Again playing an old Lila Cheney tune. It starts to drown out the happenings outside as Liza heads for a whindow to peak out.

"Umm Tabby? You didn't bring the hate mob did you?" the kids' mother asks while joining Rhona at the window.

Tabitha peeks herself then goes back to smiling at the kids. Even throwing Dio style Horns to them. The kids grin and keep playing even getting a little louder.

Outside, the attempt at Emma to halt the whole procession gets some slack jawed looks and a few all rather not happy.

"Fed bitch, you can go take your pretty ass the fuck off. You ain't getting up in my constitutional rights to bear arms and say my piece. Free speech!"

"Fucking Eff Bee Eye ain't shit. It's Aye Tee Eff Ee Cee Tee that polices stolen guns." another yells out very much a slack jawed yokel.

And much yelling at Emma ensues. Much of it about how she might have gotten the job. And a lot of imagery followinbg that no body should see or be thinking At least one argument over which of department does have jusrisdiction ensues.

"Muties don't need guns. We have a right too..." and all that.

Of course this is when one person throws a half brick in Emma's direction. The guy right next to the infiltrating Cannonball.

There's the other shoe dropping. And with the musci from inside the house playing theres a few folks complaining that they should have brought a boom box with some Ted Nugent. None of that Cheney crap. Not their Cheney clearly.
Emma Frost The point is that all attention is on Emma Frost, and not on the kids. "So who wants to know what the penalties are for felony gun running, threatening a federal officer.. Then there's the state charges which will be even funner. New York State will consider it domestic terrorism and they have it on the books. So I'm going to ask you men to step back nicely or we'll see the tossup as to who can throw you away for longer, the feds or the state. We do have quite a few AG's who would love to be shown as proactive given the spate of recent gun crimes. So, who wants to play triiva first."
Emma goes to snap her hand up and over to her lips and lets out a piercing whistle that shrieks loud and wide. "That's an extra fifteen on your sentence. Now we're going to add assault and battery, obstrucing official business of the state.. And a judge is going to tack on an extra six months purely for how awful that throw was. I've seen parapalegics that can do better." All she has to do is keep up the threat, keep up the confusion.. And keep them arguing amongst themselves.
Rhona Lauren Rhona raises her hands up and two pink energy shields come swirling up around her palms! They spread outward until they're as tall as she is, the disc-shaped shields being held apart enough to let her form a wall in front of her as she walks right up on the crowd, after that brick is thrown.

"This is the land of the Free, is it not?!" The Briton shouts.

"Mutants have just as much right to that Freedom as any of you do!" She adds, her energy shields swirling, glimmering with purple haze mixed in with the bright glowing pink. Her eyes scan the crowd from being the glowing barriers.

"I'm not from this country, but I grew up respecting what I thought it stood for. And a Lynch Mob, is not that! Return to your homes! Let the authorities sort out the matters at hand!"

She's nervous as hell though, and feels entirely up over her head!
Laura Kinney Laura Kinney winces as Rhona fires up her shield. The crowd is sure to take that as a provocation. If they're not already about to riot because of Emma. The authority of a single FBI agent wouldn't do much to stop an angry mob even if she really was an agent. Now if she had a few dozen mind controlled riot police and some suitable vans to cart people off in...

Still you make do with what's to hand. And in this case Laura has the freedom to keep disarming people. But slowly she makes her way back out to the fringe. Aiming to position herself near a water main.

If things do turn violent she'll be able to quickly sweep a claw through the metal with a simple snikt. Releasing a jet like a water cannon. Perfect to cool down hot heads!
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie sees the fellow about to throw the rock and he trips, falling into the guy enough to throw off his aim, but not enough to know him or Sam to the ground "Sorry Joe." He tells them man, and then as Rhona openly shows her powers he frowns slightly and mutters a soft "Damn." He will start to make his way towards the front and towards the girl. Sam is not sure if her shields can stop bullets, but he knows his can if it comes down to that. "Show the lady your papers Earl, your old lady will lock you out you get locked up again." He bases this off some of the stories and BS he heard while they were prepping for the march.
Tabitha Smith Inside the house Tabby encourages the kids to play while she talks a little loudly to Liza Black. "Well, no, but we heard they were coming through. Some jackasses put your kids details up on the web. We got a ping on your name, that some really bad types were going to make this a very bad day. We were gonna come make the offer later towards the school year starting but they kinda sped up the time table." she states.

"Ain't none of those folks from here. At least from what I can see." Liza points out. "Look, you say you got a school for Mutants right, Good school right?"

There's a nod from Tabby and a smile. "Yeah, took me in when I was a kid. I'd probably be dead or worse if it wasn't for Xavier." she answers. "You kids rock!" she cheers on.

Outside, the more vocal protesters argue back. Bunch of these protesters and would be rioters had been flagged and have come from all over the country. The rock thrower is from Portland Maine as a future check of his rap sheet might find.

The shields that Rhona put up spooking some people as Laura expected.

"Fucking Muties!" One, a woman from Minneapolis of all places draws her side arm and fires. The shot hitting the shield. Richocheting and flying high enough it hits a bird, a woodpecker.

The water from the pipe knocking the shooter and a few others close to the high pressure spray on their backsides. Normally you'd need a pump for that but a small enoughb slice can create a good enough point for the water pressure to build.

Earl looks to Sam with a bewildered look. "What the hell Bert? Man, I ain't getting my ass locked up and dumped by Lena again. We just got back together!" he says and givez Emma a look and then 'Bert' before he whispers to Sam. "You got this right I'm outta here. This is getting too wild. I ain't getting blasted by no mutant chick!" he states and just starts hoofing it back the way he came.

A few more scatter too. Too bad none of them parked close. They'd been marching a while.

A few more start aiming their own guns at Emma and Rhona in terror, not knowing what to do very jumpy.

None of them having made the connection that Laura gave them the soaking. Some people in the neighbor hood already callling their water company, others coming out to check their own water mains and meters.

Then going right back inside to start calling actual cops because racists are clearly committing hate crimes..
Emma Frost Emma Frost would just watch the men, "Two hundred and ninety." That's sent to each man, somehow Emma's voice carrying through all of them. "The average sentence for each of you. That's of course presuming that a idstrict attorney doesn't try and maximize your sentences to go more. Domestic terrorism, gun trafficking.. Now we can tack on things like kidnapping, attempted murder, assault on officers.. Your names will be in the news in the same classifications as pedophiles."
No, it's not remotely that way but Emma's still playing to her persona. "Do you wan tthat? Do you all know what happens in prison to that kind of scum?" She didn't say that easier. But hopefully for these people from this region they'll all have their own thoughts and memories and -fears- of what that sort of thing involves. Emma's not pushing it on them. Too many people here and the midst of a riot. She can only do so much.
So, Emma's trying to push on them their -own- sense of total wrongness and consequences. From the feds, from the locals, and from thier parents disowning them for being 'that kind of scum'. Might as well go the full route.
Rhona Lauren Rhona's eyes go huge the second the bullet hits her shield and bounces off of it. She didn't know if her shields could stop bullets or not, because she's never been shot at before. But, now she knows. She just stands there like a statue with those two huge discs up in the air glowing so brightly!

She snaps a little when the hydrant is broken open, and the water geyser goes spraying out across the crowd. She doesn't waver though, even takes a more confident step toward the crowds, keeping her shields up as she starts to walk toward where Emma is... ending up beside her.

She says nothing, just stands there with those humming energy fields emitting from her fingers and palms...
Laura Kinney When someone in the crowd takes the unwise decision to shoot Laura scowls and slips back into the crush of the mob. This time getting close enough to deliver a discreet disabling strike at the shooter. Then 'helpfully' dragging them to safety claiming they have feinted in the heat.

At least providing no-one notices. If they do. Well she just made things a lot worse!

But as long as she can maintain her cover she'll silently subdue trouble-makers and haul them to the edges. Dumping them in various lawns. Once her cover gets broken. Well she'll do everything possible to make herself a target and then haul ass. Hopefully baiting a bunch of angry rioters into following her and forgetting about the others.
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie will try to keep eyes on him as well, stepping in front of Emma, and Rhona, facing the crowd. his hands up, and speaks up "Now don't go starting shooting people specially with a fed here. You shoot a cop, then free rights or not, the cops will put you under the jail house, and don't do no body no good if your rotting in a prison hospital"
Tabitha Smith The music stopped when that one gunshot went off and killed a bird. landing on one of the remaining demonstrators. An endangered woodpecker at that. More charges for Emma to threaten them with.

Tabby keeps her smile on the kids with as much a cheery disposition as possible. "I learned how to use my powers so I wouldn't hurt anyone. Sometimes there's folks that need a kick in the ass but the school is about making sure we're safe and leaning to make sure everyone else is as well. So what's going on out there, becomes less likely. Plus sometimes you can learn how to make powers fun but you two got that down like mad!" she explains with high praise added for Theo and Will.

The problem with Emma trying to push a sense of wrongness about their actions is the confusion it brings in some of them. Hatred can be pretty irattional and is often a learned behaviour from their parents.

This is how the second round is fored and deflected. It hits a neighbor's roof. And the shooter yelps when Laura's strike is particularly effective. A few more of the rioters trying to chase her down after a few are sumarrily beaten and dropped by hand but lacking her mutant fitness levels they'll never catch her unless she lets them.

More people run and sirens start becoming more audible as they start moving to round up runners scattering.

The last few still with weapons and not running yet drop their guns in some of that telepathically instilled guilt and fear. They even get down on knees with hands on head.

Not a one even realising that a fed would not be working alone and clearly this mutant girl is just a coincidence. The school emblem on her shirt completely missed.

This demonstraion and a failure of one at that clearly the start of any recruiting by the Purifiesr.

Unlikely they'll actually let anyone join the next step of membership.
Emma Frost Emma Frost goes to hold her hands together, "Now you're spraying around bullets! Those homes have CHILDREN. What kind of men could you be if you're shooting kids? Child endangerment, firing a gun in a residential neighborhood.." She's going to list off charges. It's with shooting randomly at houses which have kids in them that she really tries to twist the knife in. Those aren't houses that have 'muties' in them.
Those are places wtih 'good americans'. Even the thugs and racists in this group can probably get the idea that shooting at other people's children is a horrible, horrible thing. Emma if she can lets Laura thin the herd and keep the most dangerous busy while Emma goes to try and drive that in. They shot at kids. They could have hurt kids. They're here for reasons in their own minds that are 'good' ones. They're here to help (in their own minds) people and make a better place. So Emma goes to put into them instead a strong association with their actions and harm if at all possible mentally. Against children, against innocents.. To them she gives thoughts of kids hit by runaway bullets, accidents.. Hopefully all these things that sink in and take root deeply.
Guilt and shame are such powerful motivators. So Emma's seeing how far she can get htem in without being overloaded to try and use them to soften the fear spewing over and to hit the propaganda that had them out here and willing to spray fire over at children.
Rhona Lauren Rhona steps off of the gutter and aims her left shield toward the gushing water from the hydrant. She keeps it pouring out toward the gathered mob still making a ruccus of the evening. Her eyes glance toward Emma. "I'm not sure they care." She tells the White Queen before she looks back through her pink and purple hazy shield toward where she'd seen that Guthrie boy.

"This is madness. Lets just get the new kids, and get out of here." The Brit offers then, knowing that everyone on their 'team' can hear what she says, right? Okay, she doesn't know that, but she assumes it!

Her left hand keeps her left disc shield off toward the water while her right keeps the primary disc shielding herself from any more attacks from these people.
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie will frown as he gets sprayed, but seems he knows how to handle it not getting knocked off his feet. He does hold his hand up, and says "Get back to the bar guys, there are to many innocents who can be hurt here, we need to go." He thinks to Emma <Might want to put this happening somewhere else so they don't come back to make the kid's mom pay for their bad day.>
Tabitha Smith What's left of the fifty strong crowd is down to maybe a half dozen. All giving up if they hadn't ran at Sam's urging. The shear amoung of regret and remorse and fear hitting their minds making two of them just straight up start crying their eyes out. One of which is a hulking man with a rat tail mullet anda 'Nuge' shirt.

Inside, the kids had been discussing things with Tabby and their mom. Clearly their mom had already been sold on the idea of the kids going to a fancy school.

"There's some paper work and stuff that needs working on natch permissions and all that but there's a place for you two!" she states. <<Oh hey Sam! It's getting quiet out there. You guys okay?>> she queries over the link. The water beiing redirected by Rhona's shield making a good mess of the street and once everything is clear the neighborhood kids are probably going to bust out the slip and slide.

Somehow, Emma never sees so much as a drop on her.

The sirens get louder and the mix of police and ambulance sirens can be heard. So they aren't far off.

"Inside Liza smiles with some actual releif coming off her in waves. "You kids pack all your clothes and important stuff." phones and a Nintendo switch and a bunch of music books. "I'll be allowed to visit right? I can'y exactly ditch work. Two jobs both really want a chunk of my time." she asks the blonde that didn't so much as pop a bomb.

"Totally. You get some time off and haul up. We'll make sure the kids keep in touch too from, their end." she states and emiles very encouragingly. <<Way things are going, long as they don't see us leave with the kids they should think it's a whole separate thing. We beat them here.>> she sends out as the kids scramble to their rooms to pack.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would take the thoughts from Sam and give a low nod <<Good suggestion>> She would fold her hands togethe rand go to smile <<All of you are so miserable. You're so tired. You put some kids in danger. You have to deal with yourselves. You have to reflect on what you've done. You need to think about it and try and solve it for youreslves>> That means of course that every single one of them is going to go to the nearest bar and drink themselves to a stupor with luck and they'll feel too shamed and humiliated to watn tog o through with anything more.
And hopefully any 'hihger ups' that might plan on recruiting from this will consider it a debacle and not bother with anything else. And hopefully those 'up' the chain of things online will see how badly it went and perhpas be a mite discouraged. There's nothign like their group spraying machine gun fire at occupied residential buildings with children on it to give a bit of a bad rap to tehir tactics now, is it?
Emma's comletely dried off, continuing in her persona. <<Are the rest of you okay?>> Hopefully things far fuzzy enough that it will fizzle here and not be picked up.
Rhona Lauren Rhona just watches, watches Emma do what she does, watches Sam, and watches the distant red and blues signal some help coming in. She then just makes the call to step back up on to the yard, and drop her hands. The shields of glowing energy are sucked back in to her palms, and the humming noise dies off leaving just sound of the running water, and the summer ambience around them all.

"Nuts." Rhona quietly says before she turns back toward the house and starts to walk back toward it, hooking her thumbs under the straps of her backpack, she moves at a casual pace toward the house to check on the boys, and help them feel comfortable if they are indeed joining up. One new kid helps two new kids, right?
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie will head out with the remaining goons, not wanting to burn the identity in case he needs to come back to the area sometime. He thinks back <Soaked, and while it was brave of you Rhona, showing you were a mutant was an unnecessary risk. When in the field for a new student pick up, always keep your powers in reserve till they are needed. You don't need to be making a target out of yourself to people who are looking for a reason to target mutants. Ah will meet you at the jet in 30, if your gone by then will fly back myself.>
Tabitha Smith By the time any cops finally round the street to see what's going on, anyone able to walk will be heading for the nearest bar after Emma's nudge. If they don't get arrested and cuffed along the way. Laura's list of details all being sent along and collated so many of themk end up doxxed much like the Black family was.

<<Think you'll have plenty of time Sam. You can fly the 'Bird home.>> Tabby sends with a cheeryful tone.

Inside the kids are packing and when Rhona moves to help them they maybe dawdle to show off their room and some of the stuff their packing and what they're leaving behind in bedrooms that clearly need to be tidied up. They are young boys after all.

The real time eater is their mom, going into full empty nest mode, as happy and sad as she is is at the same time that her babies are growing up and going to a new school. And possibly become heroes. There's a lot of potential in those kids' abilities.

Eventuaally after Liza can be convinced that it's okay and she can let Will and Theo go, the SUV is filled up again and rolling down the street towards the airfield.

Blocks away in a nearby sqad car two men ion a drenched shirt are having a long running conversation that started earlier.

"See it's the ATFE, they handle gunrunning and explosives as well as booze and smokes." one says. Looking like he'd refer to himself as a golden god

"Why that?" The other a scruffy looking man that needs a shave and some sleeves on his hand cropped muscle top.

"Taxes of course!"
