Kara Danvers The aftermath of the prior evening has brought many things, but one of them is Supergirl locked up in the containment room under Titans Tower. Caitlin has the room bathing in red solar radiation, and a piece of Green Kryptonite loaded in an emitter so its radiation can be turned on in the room as well.

Supergirl herself, still covered in more than a little blood spatter, is in the room, pacing back and forth. The demeanor is that of a caged animal, tense and looking for an opportunity.
Victor Stone     Vic makes sure he comes down to talk to Kara with backup. Just in case. He /wants/ to believe that Kara is Kara, that she'll be reasonable. She's their /friend/. But too much has happened in the past few days with her for him to trust to that alone.

But he /does/ grab another friend of Kara's at least. Or someone he /hopes/ is a friend. And anyway, America's likely to want to get some answers.

"Hey, Kara," Cyborg says as he comes into the room, quietly double-checking whatever security measures Caitlin has in place. "You, uh... you don't look so good."
America Chavez     America had received the communcation about Kara's capture but had been hesitant to go check on the Kryptonian. But when one of the leadership council of the Titan's requests your presence, it's a bad idea to say no. Not like you'd get in trouble, but it doesn't speak well of a team player to bail on that sort of thing.

She puts her gameface on when she enters the labs. Solid, stern, one might even say stoic from the expressionless mask she's wearing. Her eyes narrow at the red glow in the room. She'd been on planets with red suns, they're more than a little uncomfortable for those used to the yellow.

She snorts at Vic's attempt at small talk. "You don't have to pretty it up, -gran chico-" she says giving Kara an obvious once over. "You can say she looks like shit. She's gone -loco-, she ain't blind."
Kara Danvers     Kara looks over towards the door of the chamber, and hears the voices. "Vic. And the bottle rocket. I think the emails were oddly prophetic, huh, Vic?" Kara sounds pure bitter and spiteful. "Locked up in the tower against my will after having Green Kryptonite used on me." She walks closer towards the door. "But of course, my /friends/ would never do that." She glares outwards. Especially at America.
Victor Stone     "Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure there's more to it than 'someone just happened to knock you over the head and drop Green Kryptonite on you,'" Vic replies blandly. "You're not acting like yourself, and we're worried about you. If I was running around the Tower trying to shut down all the computers because they might hack me, or threatening people, someone would knock me over the damn head too."

He sighs. "Look. From what I hear, you'd beaten up some woman, maybe almost to death. Heather tried to talk you down, and you got knocked out by someone else trying to protect Heather. And then you tried to punch your way out. But maybe there's a good explanation for all of that. So... d'you want to explain your side of things? How you got here, why you're going around looking for all the Kryptonite ever?" A raised brow. "You gonna go try to kill Raven and Terry, too, since they've got magic?"
America Chavez     America's eyes stay locked on Kara. "I like the nickname... means you don't have a clue what I'm capable of just that I can knock you block off if you're not careful" she replies flatly. "I didn't use the green stuff on you Kara. I -could've- if I wanted to last time we talked, but I was worried then. I'd heard what you were up to and wanted to see for myself what the fuss about my friend was." She shrugs a shoulder. "Didn't expect to get slapped in the face for trying to talk it out. But shit happens."

"Still wasn't going to use it then. Like I said, you get one. You got yours. Not gonna lie though, I am a little sorry I wasn't there to help deliver you into this mess you made." She crosses her arms under her breasts and cocks a hip to one side. "He's got a point. If every thing that can hurt you is a threat, where's it stop? You dropped a death threat on Viv." She gestures to the Kyrponite shard loaded nearby. "You see that? That's a death threat... tell me how you feel? Pretty sure Viv felt the same when you threated to purge and delete her."
Kara Danvers     Kara looks annoyed, more than anything. At least at the start. But Vic's question causes a pause. There's a moment on her face that almost looks like confusion, sort of a "why /am/ I trying to get the Kryptonite?" kind of reaction. It's brief, though, and it's pushed aside by the same angry, bitter replies as before. "Magic works on everyone. Kryptonite only works on Kal and I. There's exactly no reason to keep it, unless it's going to be used against us."

She looks over to America. "You say you didn't use it, and yet you point out it's a death threat for me. Don't you people /see/ how hypocritical you're being?" Her voice is a little shrill. She starts towards the door, not that there's anything she can do to it after hours soaking in red solar radiation. And winces a bit as she moves. An apparent moment of pain, not that the Kryptonian is used to feeling pain.
Victor Stone     Vic glowers at America for a moment. "Not /helping/," he grumbles. Rubs a hand across his face, and then turns back to Kara. "Actually," he points out, "the reason to keep it is that it /doesn't/ only work on you and Superman. There's other Kryptonians out there, you know. Problematic ones, like Zod. And, look, if you're that worried about it? Really? Then we can talk about what to do, how to track it down and keep it safe. Because yeah, you're right, we don't want just anyone getting their hands on it and trying to hurt you."

A pause. "But America's got a point, too. You threatened to kill Viv. You tried to kill another woman. You're not talking to us. You're not acting like yourself."

A pause. "Kara, I can promise you, swear to Baby Jesus and my high score in DDR, that if I let you out of here I wouldn't try to kill you. I wouldn't hurt you unless I /absolutely/ had to. Can you promise me the same? Can you /swear/ that you've got /no/ intention of hurting anyone in the Titans? Because you're the one throwing death threats around, and you're the one who suddenly seems to think we're out to get you."
America Chavez     America glances back at Vic and rolls her eyes at the admonition. "Hey... you called me to be here, didn't ask me to play good cop" she says, "I figure you knew that I wasn't meant for that role." She cants her eyes back to Kara. "You... uh... you missed a few. More than a few..." she replies arching a finely plucked brow. "Is there a reason for that?"

She moves around to keep the Kryptonian in her gaze, dismissing the question with a comment. "But Vic's right" she leans forward a bit, the action only mildly beligerent. "You're uh... something's not right with you head -chica- and we need to figure out if you're still you, for one." She grins then. "Not like you'd be the first titan in the past what... month, month and a half to go on a temporary leave of sanity."
Kara Danvers     "It's not safe if it's around! All I was trying to do was destroy it, or toss it out in space where it can't hurt anyone! And then my so-called friends started trying to lock me up!" Kara rambles back at Vic. "And you've all done a really good job of making sure I couldn't hurt anyone if I wanted to. You've taken my powers away!"

She glares over at America. "I am so TIRED of you! If you want to fight me that bad, fight me already!" She starts to stalk over towards the Fuertonian. On her way there, there's a cry of pain, and she suddenly drops to the ground. "Ahhhh!!!" She yelps out. "What...have you people done to me?..." She lies there on the floor of the containment room.
Victor Stone     Cyborg rushes over to look at the readouts on a nearby panel and frowns. "You're in pain... but you're not dying or anything. Elevated heart rate and adrenaline, but that's..." He glances to the Green Kryptonite, then goes to make sure it's not actually doing anything to Kara for the moment. The red sunlight, though, he leaves.

"America, that's not--" He pauses. Frowns. "Well, actually, yeah, she missed /more/ than a few Kryptonians... Jon and Superboy come to mind, and Power Girl..." There's a puzzle here, and it's bothering Vic.

"Look, Kara, just... just hold still, okay? Let me do a scan or something, make sure you're not injured." But he's not telling America not to antagonize her anymore.
America Chavez     America sniffs at the drop and drops to a knee as well. "Something's not right with you Kara, and what's worse you don't even see it" her tone's loss a bit of its edge. "We'll throw down eventually... but not like this." She looks at Vic. "Red sun doesn't do this to them usually, right?" she asks. "Just supposed to make them like normal humans, right? It shouldn't be poisoning her or anything..." she looks over at the man at the monitors.

She looks a little more concerned. "Come on, big man, I need deets..." The concern has moved into worry and alarm. "The Kryptonite is sealed so it can't be the culprit. So what's doing this to her?" She looks back at Kara. "Who managed to take you down?" she asks the Kryptonian.
Kara Danvers     According to the monitors, the Green Kryptonite is completely contained; no radiation is going through the emitter, just as it's designed. Whatever's happening to Kara is something different.

For her part, Kara tries to push herself up off the floor, and fails. Her voice is a trinity of anger, pain, and fear. "What are you doing to me?!" She repeats. As she tries to push herself up again, she lets out another, sharper cry of pain, and stops trying, dropping back down to her prone position.
The monitors continue to display elevated (and further elevating) heartrate, pupillary response, respiration...all consistent with increasing fear/pain.
Victor Stone     "We're not doing anything, Kara," Vic says as he looks at the monitors. "The Green Kryptonite's not firing off. You're terrified, and you're in a lot of pain." He glances aside to America. "Do you have any kind of, uhh... I know you can sense weird dimensional incursions and stuff, you got any other super-senses?"

He looks back at Kara. "Tell me what happened that put you in here. Please, Kara, we can't help you if you don't know what might be wrong. Who knocked you out? What'd they do?"
America Chavez     America makes a face. "Nothing I can tell is wrong with her" she says and then rises. "-Follame-..." she mutters before punching the air to her right. The star portal opens and she steps through a second later, she's inside the cell dropping down next to the Kryptonian and trying to help her sit up at the very least. "Come on, Kara... it's going to be alright."

Her tone is caring, gentle, and absolutely nothing like it was before she was in the cell. "Let's get you up and figure out what's wrong... okay?" she says, waving away the portal. Yes, she just locked herself in the cell with the possibly crazy Kryptonian. "I know what you're going to say," she says looking at Vic, "but she obviously needs help... and I'm helping."
Kara Danvers     Kara looks up towards Vic and America. "I can't stand up! I can't feel my legs!" She says. She tries again, and fails, to push herself up, accompanied by another sharp cry. "I don't KNOW! The girl with the stripe in her hair flew at me, and she was going to squash Heather between us. I turned and I felt her grab me, and the next thing I know I was waking up here!!" Her words are quick, almost motor mouth, as her breathing quickens with her agitation.

When America star-portals in, Kara looks even more afraid, at least for a moment, until America tries to sit her up. That gets a full on /scream/ of pain, as she goes pale white like her body's almost in shock. She looks up at America, with a gasp as she tries to draw in a full breath. "America...help me, please..." she says, desperately.
Victor Stone     Cyborg almost reaches out to stop America--but she goes into the cell, rather than bringing Kara out, so he doesn't protest, and instead focuses on scanning Kara with his cybernetic eye. "Don't move her, America. Just... just hold on a second while I..."

He stops, and blinks. "There's a radiation source near her lower spine. And a /very/ low-powered EM source, too. That's... America, can you check, please? /Very/ carefully." He swallows. "I think it might be Kryponite. Although it's... I mean, it doesn't quite... look, let's just get it off her and figure out what's going on, okay?"
America Chavez     America lowers Kara at the woman's scream of pain and then listens to Vic's instructions. "I'm going to try to help you, Kara. I promise. But I need to check what Vic is seeing, okay? Just... be still" she says and goes to examine the woman's lower back. "There's a small hole here" she says softly. A glance to the cape and she nods. "And a corresponding one in the cape too."

She peels up the blue top that Kara wears over her torso and looks at her back. "Nothing here, though. You got any sort of subdermal scan over there?" she asks. See she can drop the science lingo, can't be a multidimensional slash multiuniversal hero without knowing a great deal about science. "Something got to her, but it's healed over since it happened.... maybe something got wedged under the skin?"
Kara Danvers     Kara had that moment of clarity, possibly caused by the pain, but it seems to fade as America lowers her back down. "Get away from me!" She shouts, irrationally. "Vic, you heard her earlier, she wants to fight me, don't leave her in here to kill me!" Whatever is causing it is clearly causing levels of paranoia and anger.

She pushes angrily at America, trying to shove her away, which is utterly useless. Might as well be a bug trying to shove the Tower. "Get away, get away!" She pushes again and again, almost hysterical, caught between whatever's doing this to her and the pain and helplessness from her physical state.
Victor Stone     "Looks like a microdart of some sort, up against her spine now. Looks like it wasn't there right at first, but it's moved. It's impacting her spinal cord. /Shit/. I don't know how... we might need Caitlin to extract it, or something." Vic shakes his head, trying to think. He's not a doctor.

"Whatever it is, it's hurting her, and I think it might be Kryptonite. We've /got/ to get it out of there... I just... look, Kara, you need to hold still, okay? There's something inside you, that's causing all this pain. We can get it out, we just need someone who can do the surgery."
America Chavez     "-Maldita sea!-" America swears as she punches the ground, it leaves a dent in the floor. Sunlight is no obstacle to the physiology of the Fuertonans. She rises and backhands another star portal out of the cell and back to the observation area. "Vic... turn off the red light..." she says. "Just for a moment..." She looks to him and there's a sadness in her eyes.

"We can't leave her to suffer like this and she needs her strength... just enough to keep her alive until Cait can operate" she says. "I can give her sun. Not hard to just open a hole to our sky and feed it into the room for a second."

She sounds dubious of whether or not it'll be limited enough to keep her from going full Supergirl and allowing her to escape, but she's desperate--that much is clear.
Kara Danvers     Sadly, Vic's words fall on deaf ears. She keeps shoving at America, right up to the point the other heroine stands and portals herself out. If Kara were in her right mind, she'd lay back, and do the smart thing. But she's caught up in paranoid delusions. She's /probably/ going to have to be sedated to keep her from further hurting herself.
The theory is sound...her cells are full of red solar radiation suppressing her powers. She'll need to refill with yellow to get them back. If America keeps it brief, it should work...at least keeping her healthy and alive enough to stall till they can arrange a more surgical solution.
Victor Stone     "Shit," Vic says. "Shit, shit, /shit/." Five, ten, fifteen, twenty... he's going to owe Caitlin's swear jar, but he doesn't care just now. "Alright. Fine. But you guard the door. And then you go back in there and you sedate her. For her own damn good."

"And when this is done, I want to find out who the hell put this not-quite-Kryptonite in her. 'Cause the Titans need to have /words/." But he turns off the red sunlight, ever-so-briefly. Long enough to help Kara settle down from the pain, hopefully. And then--hopefully--America can pop back in with a sedative that'll actually work on a Kryptonian. They have to have /something/ around here, right?
America Chavez     America nods and once the lights dim she does two portals. A small one to one side where she withdraws a small futuristic looking gun. "I've never had a chance to try this out here..." she mutters, and checks some of the settings on it before she shrugs. "Worth a shot..."

She then punches open a hole that clears to reveal a sunny day and a skyline that looks like Earth, only if the buildings were made of quartz crystal instead of steel, concrete, and glass. The sun is -huge- in the sky, bigger than the Earth's sun ever gets and bright yellow. The light floods the room with white and yellow light and warmth. The dosage to Kara is like Earth's sun but supercharged and potent.

After a moment's exposure, America closes the portal on the super sun and then points the gun at Kara. "Sleep well, -mi amiga-" she says before pulling the trigger and encasing Kara in purple light that seems to seep into her skin rather than disappate or bounce off.

The gun sparks and a puff of smoke plumes from it as the lights flicker and die. "-Bueno mierda-," she mutters before looking to make sure it worked on her friend. Cait's jar is making a mint today.
Kara Danvers     Kara looks relieved a moment as the yellow solar energy floods the room, starting to flush the red from her cells. It's not much, but with the supercharged sun, even a little starts to get her healing factor going, and the look of pain slides from her face, as the sensors read her heartrate and respiration drop towards normal.

Thankfully, America makes with the zapping before she can get enough energy to consider trying anything. The purple light hits her, and her eyes roll back. She's out. And they managed to find out the cause of things. Now it's just a matter of applying a solution.
Victor Stone     Vic rubs at his face. "Shit," he repeats. That's thirty, all told, from him.

"Thanks, America. Sorry about earlier. It's just... this kind of thing keeps happening. It's got me on edge. I want to know who did this to Kara, and why. But first... we've gotta tell Caitlin to get on this, /fast/."
America Chavez     America punches open another hole, presumably to where she got the gun and tosses it back in haphazardly. "Me too, Vic. Me too." She sighs and gives a final look to Kara's sleeping form. "Come on, let's go find Caitlin and get her ready... I don't know how long that blast will keep her out for but the sooner we get that out of her, the better."

She turns and heads for the exit from the labs. She adds, her tone icy and hard, "And the sooner we find out who did it, the sooner they pay."
