Kate Kane     Kate's been busy ever since her first excursion to space. Not so busy she hasn't had a chance to get into other mischief of course, the other shoe from her misadventure into Gotham's sewers alongside Tim Drake and Pamela Isley is sure to fall eventually. And there's always something going on with the Birds, even if it's just dealing with the various scheduling and file updates of being Second in Command of the Birds. But she's had an itch in the back of her mind the entire time.

Space. The Final Frontier. Or, at least, the place that apparently has sharks the size of train cars on the small side. Definitely not the sort of thing a grapple gun and armored suit can handle.

And so, one of those times flipping through the database Oracle had assembled, one entry caught her eye. Blackhawk Transport, and Zinda Blake. Just the person to discuss the idea of an experimental space plane with. Also, someone she won't have to be all cagey and vague about the purpose of the plane with.

And so Kate finds herself pulling up to Blackhawk Transport at the bright an early time of early afternoon on her bike... at least she's not showing up in costume though, a leather jacket and dark jeans doing duty for civilian attire. Dark red motorcycle helmet is pulled off and hung on a handlebar, one hand lifting to run through short cropped red hair out of habit, as she heads into the building, looking about with open curiosity... it's not like Zinda's known to be difficult to pick out of a crowd, so /surely/ picking her out of her own business shouldn't take long.
Zinda Blake It's a slow day at Blackhawk Transport, and Zinda has been left to her own devices... and to mind the store. Blackhawk Transport has a main building as a street front with a large warehouse behind. It sits on a big enough lot that there's no telling what else might be around.

The first sight in the lobby is a large, colorful recruitment poster from WWII featuring a blonde in a Blackhawk uniform and the caption 'Keep Em' Flying!'. There are a couple of comfortable-looking sofas and a counter. Behind the counter is a bored-looking woman that looks like she just fell out of the poster. Zinda is wearing a well-worn flight jacket over a white t-shirt, blonde curls bouncing free.
Kate Kane Kate can't help but stop to admire the recruitment poster, it brings her to a stop just inside the door, only for her gaze to do the whole 'Wait, is that...?' flick back and forth between Zinda at the counter, and Zinda on the poster. It's /probably/ for show, since she waits until Zinda notices her to stop doing it, flashing a broad smile.

"Well well, just the woman I was looking for! I'm not interrupting anything important, am I Miss Blake? I'm afraid I need to ask you for help that.. well, only you could really provide!" She chews her lower lip thoughtfully for a moment, "Well, I'm sure I could find someone else if you say no... but I don't think anyone else would enjoy designing and test piloting what I've got in mind quite as much as you."
Zinda Blake Zinda Blake looks over when the door opens, head tilting a little at the sight of the redhead dressed for riding. A blonde brow lifts at Kate's reaction, then she smiles. Broadly. Yeah, there's no doubt now.

Zinda watches Kate as she approaches, then glances down at her watch. "Well sugah, in about another 20 minutes you'd be interruptin' a nap. It's gettin' powerful quiet around here..."

Then Zinda lets Kate talk. "Hold on now, sugah. Designin' and test pilotin', did ya' say?" She perks. Yes, Kate has her full attention now.

"There's a lotta folks what can design airplanes nowadays, but ya' don't need a test pilot for a cargo plane. Jus' what're we talkin' about, Miss...?"
Kate Kane Kate manages /not/ to do much more than lift her eyebrows slightly as Zinda flashes that broad smile and erases /all/ doubt of her being the same woman in the recruitment poster. She snorts softly, and grins crookedly, "See, that's why I try to work from home as much as I can. No one to catch me taking those all-important mid-day naps."

Kate grins downright wolfishly as Zinda perks up, bobbing her head. "Exaaaaaactly. I mean, I'd say it's the sort of thing most test pilots haven't got the guts to try..." She narrows her eyes slightly and grins, "But that's the whole point of the design part, right? I'm thinking of something a little more... sleek than a cargo plane. Also, something that flies... a /lot/ higher than most pilots go." She clears her throat and murmurs out, "I know, I know, billionaire wants to fly into space, I'm the /worst/, right?"
Zinda Blake Zinda Blake steps up more closely, leaning both elbows on the counter while they talk. Both brows go up at that. "Billionaire wants to fly into space...?" No, she apparently doesn't recognize Kate. Then again, Zinda doesn't exactly follow the tabloids or even the news.

"So you ain't jus' talkin' about an SR-71 or even an X-15. You mean an honest-to-gosh SPACE plane." Yeah, Zinda apparently has at least read up on what she's missed in the aviation world during her little time-skip.

"Oh honey, there's a LOTTA things we gotta take into account." And here is where Zinda starts ticking things off on her fingers. "Propulsion, air frame, life support, an' that's jus' fer starters. Avionics an' controls... yer probably gonna hafta get somebody more computer-savvy for THAT part. Goin' to space ain't like flyin' in a pylon race, after all."

Leaning in more closely, she peers at Kate and asks. "You sure you ken' afford all that? Ah mean, who the hell ARE you, anyways?"
