America Chavez     Renovations on the publishing house that America bought are coming along nicely. At least on the inside. Outside it still looks rather dilapidated and overgrown. But if the interior is any indicator, that will be taken care of in due time. As it is, she managed to get ahold of Kate and invited her over for a chat and to see the new digs.

The friendship between the Kate of this world and America isn't as strong as Kate's from other worlds, but America is persistent and is determined to rectify that small discrepency with this world's Hawkeye the Younger.

The main room of the publishing house has been cleaned, swept, and painted a nice muted blue that lends the place extra light. The flourescents are gone and a number of lamps are strategically placed to give plenty of illumination. There is also the beginnings of a large scale entertainment system in the middle of being set up on a far wall with a number of large boxes scattered around a massively oversized TV already resting high up on the far wall. It's with one of the boxes that America herself is present.

She's in black leggings and a red tee today, her hair free to tumble around her shoulders. She is pulling a new couch from the box with relative ease, though there is some stategy in removing furniture from boxes without some difficulty, and it seems the Star-Spangled heroine has hit a snag as the plastic bunches around the top and traps the piece of furniture in place within it's transportation compartment. "Damn thing!" she grumbles and tugs a bit more, trying not to just break the furniture in her haste.
Kate Bishop     Kate isn't really aware of the whole Kate of this world vs. Kate of other worlds. This world being pretty strange with the variety of heroes and whole thing it has going on with Kate in the Titans after swiping Hawkeye's schtick.

She is pretty similar though to Kate in most worlds and is perfectly friendly, just not forged yet in the fire of adventure with America to the extent of elseworld. Probably.

She shows up when invited though, sipping a starkbucks and lets herself in. Not expecting to be zapped by defense systems or lasers in the place. At least not yet.

The drink is casually sipped and she appreciates how close to her school and one of her places this is, having grown up in New York. "Sup Chavez?" from the doorway at least, she doesn't ninja sneak up on the other unpacking. She isn't a batling after all. "This is a lot of room for a place." maybe she thinks it is for Chavez like a huge apartment.

She doesn't really have scale of how much money that would be, she just buys stuff, blame the billionair parent figure.
America Chavez     America gives a final tug with a muted grunt and the box pops to release it's large four seat sofa still wrapped in plastic. "If it was just for me?" she replies, dusting off her hands, "You'd be right. But for a team, it's just about right. Not as big as Titan's Tower, that's for sure, but it gets the point across and it's in spitting distance from the Avenger's Mansion, which is part of the point of being a subsidiary, right?"

She turns and offers Kate a seat in one of the comfortable looking chairs around the in process living area. "I'm glad you came by." Once Kate is settled America perches lightly against the arm of the sofa in the middle. "Has Donna spoken to you at all about what I'm doing here?" she asks. "Like... why I bought this place and what she and I discussed?" she asks her posture radiating a casual, relaxed, and confident demeanor.
Kate Bishop     Kate looks around, sipping some more heavily caffienated and be-sugar'd bev. "For a team it is about the right size, if not too big a team that is."

She furrows her brow a bit though. "Subsidiary?" head tilting just a smidge as she looks back to Chavez.

"Also .. no ..." she notes as she moves over and settl4es to sit in the offered seat, curling in and giving a testing wiggle to test the comfort level. "I mean Donna and I have discussed satelites for the Titans, maybe in New York and at the Space Port. Where we can deal with some of the team size and put in teleporters maybe between them... " the subsidary with Avengers talk doesn't strike that way though.

    "Sup?"
America Chavez     America spreads her hands. "That's part of it. We're a satelite of the Titans, I just added a touch of my own to the mix, you know?" she replies, raising a knee which she hugs to her chest to prop her chin upon lightly. "I wanted a team of my own. I've been at this for a handful of years--handful plus one to be exact--and I saw a need for a home for younger people that want to make a difference that isn't in Metropolis. It's close, but New York is home to a number of us... so I felt that it was time for someone to step up and lay the groundwork for such a place."

She gestures around. "This is the fruit of it. Donna has already given me--and the rest of the team--her blessing. She was here for the first meeting we had a couple weeks ago. And the Avengers are more than happy for the youth support that we'll provide."

She flashes Kate one of her beaming smiles. "But... I'm still new to the leader thing here and that's where you come in. If you're intersted, I wanted to make you my Second. Donna suggested it, and I respect your experience in the field and in the office, so to speak."
Kate Bishop     "Yeah Donna tried to talk me helping spearhead a New York or Gotham branch, but then the whole Wonderland thing happened and I've been slacking if I am honest about it." she is sort of on the unofficial but quasi strangely official leadership team of the Titans.

"It is a good idea though having a base in New York." she looks around then back to America "Lot of youth heroes here. As you said a lot of us live here or have family here."

"I... figures." she grins though at the beaming smile. "I am so much more likely to get Hawkeye 2.0 or other jokes being close to Clint, but he would probably like having me closer to the manor too." she sips her coffee but is smiling. "Sure I am good helping out here too. I'm still going to be mucking with Titans HQ though as well of course. As I expect you will be too Chavez. So we probably need to get the porters up and going early on. Will save me hyperloop time."
America Chavez     America laughs. "I didn't even think about Clint wanting you near but..." she nods. "Yeah. I guess that does fit. I'm wanting to get with Nadia on that as soon as I can. I have thought about asking her to join with this team as well. There are a number of Titans that might do better here on my radar. Nadia, Viv, Madie... but yeah, getting the ports up and running would save a lot of people the split time and allow us to coordinate better."

She continues, speaking with authoritative directness. "The comm and security systems will likely be on the same grid. Once Vic's back on his feet I was going to check with him to see if that can be done easily." She pauses and rubs the back of her neck. "I've... you can see I've put a lot of thought into this and I am more than open to suggestions from you." She gestures up. "There are offices on the second and third floor of the place that I'm converting into quarters for the team and I want you to meet those already with us: Mania, Wiccan, Teen Latern, and the others. One needs a bit more incentinve to join, but I'm confident in Billy's ability to convince him."
Kate Bishop     Kate looks around again. "I'm happy to offer advice and anything I can. I think it really depends on what we want to use this base for exactly. It sounds like there won't be total overlap with the Titans but a team with a bit of a seperate identity if I am following along exactly?"

She muses. "Which means we need training space too, because you can't act like a team unless you train together and bond as a team. Doing it all in the field is a recipe for injuries and maybe a casualty and I really won't let that slide."

Which means Kate is going to make people do drills.

"Comms. Security. Quarters. Training. That is probably the most critical additions."
America Chavez     America grins. "Which is why I chose this place. This used to be the production room, but there is a basement level that covers the whole grounds that I was thinking for security, and there is also two other large rooms, one for distribution and receiving--that might be good for the training room and one for packaging that..." a pause, "I haven't thought of what to do with yet."

She laughs. "Yeah. We'd be affiliated but seperate. Both a joint coordination with the Titans and the Avengers. A bridge to foster cooperative work between both teams and possibly a fosterage of mentorship as well."

A beat. "As much as Titans NYC is appropriate, I'm liking the mouth feel of Young Avengers a bit more. If that's... alright with you? Like I said, I'm more than open to your support and suggestions," she asks, arching a finely sculpted brow.
Kate Bishop     Kate shifts tucking a leg under herself now as she settles in and really starts to think about the proposal more. All of this definitely does have a way of making it a lot more solid and real than when Donna was just spitballing it.

"Young Avengers will do absolutely nothing to get me out of Clint's shadow." it is said with a laugh though and an amused smile. "Not opposed though. I would ask who you pitched it with in the Avengers... Stark as far as I can tell actually has copyright lawyers and a whole team that handles Avengers Merch. Clint had to make it very very clear to people I was also Hawkeye to prevent cease and desist servings I think."

She may be exagerating but then again maybe not.
America Chavez     America leans back a bit. "I think getting you out of Clint's shadow is more a matter of visual and publicity more than anything" she replies with a grin. "But I pitched it to Steven and King T'challa when I went to meet them. Power Girl came by and gave this place and the team her approval too. Panther and Cap said they'd handle the legal if Stark decided to get upset. Not to mention I've spoken to Ms. Potts and we both know that nothing legal moves without her okay, regardless of whose name is on the letter head."

She nods. "As far as I'm concerned you're the new and improved Hawkeye--I respect Clint, don't get me wrong--but your skill and ingenuity has helped the Titans more than his has helped the Avengers and I hope, that your leadership here will be even more to give your namesake validation."
Kate Bishop     "Oooof. Big oof. Poor Clint. Also I am the better Hawkeye, it is okay to say it." she has a cheeky sort of grin there. She has no issues with razzing Clint. Hell she has said she is better at archery than he is to his face at least once.

"I'm sure Clint will be happy with it too, and you're right about Ms. Potts. Also Tony isn't that much of a dick I don't think. It is more that the legal apparatus without the convos you had would probably crunch on during autopilot. So good covering all those bases."

"So yeah, this will probably work fine. I definitely want to meet all the troubled youths you've rounded up though." she is just teasing. The troubled part. Though some probably are.
America Chavez     "I will add you to the roster and set up a meeting two point oh soon then" America replies with a big grin. "Until then," she says pushing off from the the couch. "Care to familiarize yourself with the place. I only finished the clean up from the wall work I did yesterday, so it's pretty spotless--for now."

"But oyu can see if the loading dock or the packaging room are better suited for your 'purposes.'" The grin she flashes gives enough evidence to show she's more than aware of Kate's particular training drills and how brutal they can be.
Kate Bishop     She finishes off her coffee and sets it down by her foot leaning over. Then she leans back up with a stretch. "Cool. I'm happy to help out with the setup too." she muses. "Do you think we could con Vic into hooking us up with the danger room tech from the tower."

She loves running people through those simulations for team training drills. She has so many on file already. Still she can make do with low tech too. "Not required but would be sweet. I'll corner him."

"So tell me about these peeps. Mania. Wiccan. Teen Lantern... I assume some ring decided a teen would be a suitable host which is .. a choice.. but if they have the will they have the way... Billy is another?"
America Chavez     America leads Kate away from the main room and it's 'under construction' living area. "Mania is a human host bonded with a Klyntar. You familiar with the creatures?" Regardless, she presses on, leading Kate down a hall. There is a staircase going up and down here, presumably to the upper and lower levels mentioned before. "Who she is under the black I'm not sure and I'm not going to force her to reveal herself until she's ready and comfortable with us. We worked well together and she's a capable fighter. Trained with Spider-Man some she says."

The hall splits off at a T intersection and America continues forward to a set of double doors. They swing open to reveal an open expanse that has all the markings of an empty loading and shipping dock. "This is the larger of the three main rooms of the building. So I figure for exercises it would work best, but you're the expert on those--not me. Teen Latern is... her ring is more a gauntlet and she's not on the network that the Laterns use so... she has the Will but none of the overarching galactic police mindset that some of them tend to carry. She's good people though. Young, but her heart is more than in the right place. Billy is Wiccan. Billy Kaplan." There is fondness in the name. "He's a wizard. Plain and simple. Mutant--I think--but his mutation just allows him to conjure things from thin air. Magic. He's still working on the extent of his abilities but he's got a few spells mastered under his cap--so to speak."

After thoroughly giving Kate free reign over the loading docks they turn and head back to the T intersection, this time taking it and heading to another set of double doors. The room beyond isn't -as- big as the dock but it's still open and expansive. It's also more long than wide. "Packaging plant, giving what was in here before I cleared it out. Boxes, some tape machines, lots of post materials. There's also Red Arrow, not sure how much of a full team member she will be. She's got her responsibilities with the Outsiders, but she's offered her assistance if needed, she lives in New York--Union Square, if I'm not mistaken-- and she's good people too."

A pause. "The reluctant one is Speed. He's also a mutant, and I'm pretty sure he's Billy's brother... even if separated at birth. They look a lot alike--uncannily so. He's a speedster, if the name didn't give it away, so like Wally, Bart, Barry, Irie, all those guys just not in that family. Wiccan has been working on convincing him to join and has been making headway so I hear."
Kate Bishop     "Solid foundation." she notes, probably about the team not about the building. Probably.

"Got transport and super strength with you, magic, speedster, shapehshifter alien, and archer with good shield and sword ability. Just need Nadia for the big and small and everything is covered." she is light hearted about it but she isn't kidding. Bases are pretty covered.

"I'll do some measurements and eye balling more later but you're right either of the big spaces `will probably work for it. Loading Docks more likely as you said. Definitely need to pin Vic down though and talk to him about what we may steal.... borrow.. gift... mmm gift."

"Also no idea what a Klyntar is but I trust your judgement on these things Chavez... also do you like Chavez or America or... seriously what do I call you?" wanting to get it right.
America Chavez     "America is fine" she says, "or Mac if you're feeling friendly" she adds with a smirk. "Vic is still recovering from... he had a bad day yesterday. But once he's back in commission, yeah, I want to get his own take on what we can get from his expertise."

She leads Kate out and down the stairs to a basement level with a number of floodlamps set up to illumiate a number of rooms and alcoves. "With Nadia and Vivian for the tech coverage I think we'll be golden in facilitating and securing the place too. Like I said, this place has all the hallmarks of a central bank and security suite for the making. Lots of server space in these closet-like rooms" she says opening a door to a storage closet of somesort, devoid of anything now. "I plan on inviting one of both of them over to get their opinion and to offer the hand of coordination as it were."

Back up she heads upstairs. "Like I said, most of what was up here was office space. Most of the rooms are the same size so I just figured... quarters for anyone who wants to call the place a home, once it's furnished, of course."
Kate Bishop     Kate looks around the basement. "I'll go with Mac if you don't mind. I'm not sure I can call someone America having grown up in America.... and .." she cocks her head looking at you. "I like Mac." she smiles.

She walks over to look in the storage room, empty. "Probably should put the teleporting tech down in the basement. Also need to think about some lab space for the techies, even if they have GIRL and the Tower in those two's case.. it does not mean all members will have Titan access necessarily."

She follows you back upstairs and then nods. "This all seems like a good plan Mac."
America Chavez     America nods. "Mac it is then" she replies. "Still going to call you Kate, or Hawkeye if the suit is on." She winks to her teammate. "I agree, on the teleporters and tech labs being in base level." She makes her way back to the main room and settles down on the plastic wrapped couch.

"Like I said, still in the middle of renovations but most of the groud work is in place. Now it's just a matter of customization to our fit." She glances out a window and frowns. "And... dealing with the outside. Got a guy coming by to look at it tomorrow, shouldn't be too much of an issue to get some landscaping and refurbishing the exterior."

The smile returns and she offers her hand to Kate. "Here's to us and the Young Avengers?" she asks, with a hopeful grin.
Kate Bishop     "I mean big question will be secret base or public base." she muses about the landscaping.

"In team Kate is fine, in public Hawkeye. My family and the general muggles don't know about the Kate Bishop angle." she notes still not having brought it up. Still trying to figure out how to do it. That is another days problem though.

She does lean over to shake your hand "Here's to the Young Avengers."
