Sunny Harlow Heroics were...suprisingly simple today. A car accident where she'd helped pull people clear, a little time patrolling the city, she'd even grabbed a cat out of a tree at one point, but now? Well, Indestructibelle was headed to stop over at the plaza!
Billy Batson Billy Batson got ready belatedly. He decided on being Billy at least to start. After all, Billy spent a couple hours in metal shop, got cleaned up, bought some daisies (he was on a budget), borrowed a jacket from Frank, his foster dad. After several more showers he showed up in the commercial plaza. Yeah he cleaned up real good. Billy sat on a bench and fiddled with his phone.
Sunny Harlow Of course, 'Belle being seen talking to Billy would be bad for both their secret identities, so Sunny had to stop off on a rooftop and tuck her costume away into her handbag, slinging it over her shoulder and tying her hair back before heading in.

At least she was easy enough to spot!
Billy Batson Billy Batson hadn't thought it out. Maybe she didn't want to appear in civilian clothes? But yes, 'Belle talking to Billy was bad for secret identities. In fact he was getting ready to text her about that when he caught sight of her across the nearly empty plaza. Was that? Yes. He straightened his collar and jacket and began walking across the plaza to her. There was no mistaking her. Unlike Billy she didn't fade into the crowd. He hurried across the plaza to meet her. There was no hiding his eagerness. He didn't want to hide it.

"Hey there. You look great!" He holds the daisies out to her. A small package was in his other hand.
Sunny Harlow Looking 'great' was pretty much just jeans and a t-shirt, easy clothing to pull on and look casual enough. One didn't want to be discovered fumbling and getting dressed or undressed while trying to change into a costume. Oh hey! Flowers! An unexpected blink followed by a blush before she took the daisies, smiling brightly and then tilting her head. "Thanks! Nice jacket!" she offers, internally cursing herself. Ironically given her looks, Sunny wasn't super experienced at dates. A sixteen year old who was trying not to accidently rip a door off its hinges for the first few months of the year didn't make for hand-holding.
Billy Batson Billy Batson leans in for a hug. Awkward hug. But enthusiastic. then he hands her the package. "Her I mad this for... work. I noticed the wind was blowing your hair in your face. You might need... here." He hands it to her. The package contains a shiny steel hair clip. "It take about a ton of pressure to open it. The... other guy helped with that. But anyway it'll stay on. I hope you like it. Nothing fancy."
Sunny Harlow The other guy? Oh! Right! A smile before she opened her bag and tucked the package away. Cradling the flowers she returns the hug lightly and grins, tilting her head to the side. "So since I actually have my wallet this time, am I covering the food this time?"
Billy Batson Billy Batson looks a little embarrassed and says, "I'm a little... okay, this is my first date. When you get chosen by a wizard at 14 to be his Champion it kind of derails a normal life. We can split it." Neither of them are particularly well off, it seems. Sh waits tabls and he lost his work study program due to absenteeism. He offers his arm and then pauses.

"Do I call you Belle or what? I mean that's fine. Belle suits you." It means 'beauty' he almost says.
Sunny Harlow "Given it would take approximately one check in last year's highschool yearbook or a glance at my nametag at work to figure it out, you could just call me Sunny. It's my name...yes I'm serious." She offers, the last added with a little point to herself and her bright features. Still she follows along. "Belle might be just for...y'know, that other thing."

His talk of dates brings a little laugh, nodding her head. "This is kinda new to me too. I went to the movies with someone once when I was 15 but...well, the next year I was kinda worried about squishing someone if I hugged them too hard so..."
Billy Batson Billy Batson rubs his head. "You worked it out, right? Not squishing people? What am I saying, we hugged and I yet live. Anyway, here's my arm. We'll try that panini place and if any thugs attack, I'll hold your purse." He points to the cafe.

Yeah, he really wasn't watching her name tag. He was distracted.
Sunny Harlow Sunny gives a little laugh, nodding her head and then shouldering it lightly. "I mean, my outfit is in there so..." she trails off, sniffing the flowers lightly with a grin before and shrugging her shoulders. "Panini's sounds alright, you know?"
Billy Batson Billy Batson takes her arm and walks with her. "Sunny fits you too. It's your disposition. Do you like the clip? I'm sorry I couldn't make it more colorful. I was going for something that would hold up if your head goes through concrete or something. Let me shut up about that. People are here. So do you know what college you're going to?" He holds the door open for her. The greeter just abut awwwwwws as she seats them.
Sunny Harlow "I do...it might be the most solid part of my costume," she muses before chuckling a little. "I mean, you should have seen me the other day. I had half the water on a lake, a balcony and carried a minivan that leaked oil on me..." She trails off, after all they were getting closer to the restaurant. "Yeah, I got accepted to ESU so...probably there."
Billy Batson Billy Batson takes a sat in the booth indicated after Sunny. The hostess moves off. "That lady is looking at us like a couple of puppies up for adoption. Sheesh." He hands Sunny a menu and opens his own. "I hear that Shazam has his own sandwich at Planet Krypton. 'The Shazam and Cheese on Rye.' Fair enough. He does ham it up. ESU is near there, I think." He thinks maybe Sunny should just spray paint a wetsuit, she seems to get drenched regular. 'Okay, stop thinking that way!' the voice of Achilles scolds.
Sunny Harlow A laugh at his comment about the sandwich, but Sunny hadn't quite been around enough to have the same fan. Still, being seen with both the Avengers -and- Superman probably helped. Even Cap offered a thumbs up her way! Still, she comes to open the thing, chuckling to herself. "Something with cheese, chicken and bacon..." she lists off before pointing. "This one, and a milkshake I think."
Billy Batson Billy Batson hmms and then says, "I'll have the Philly Cheesesteak, keep the water coming, and large fries." When the server departs he says, "I lived in Philadelphia, I'll be the judge of whether it's a real Philly sandwich." He sage nods. She has a nice laugh.
Sunny Harlow "Pancakes," Sunny offers in thought after a moment. "Pancakes were always what my folks made, really good. I can never really have them in most places without getting picky on them." A grin, the arrival of her milkshake has the blonde draining it from her straw and a nod. "Maybe we'll have to find them sometime."
Billy Batson Sunny can eat. She's nowhere near a Flash's consumption but the milkshake is moving pretty fast itself. In fact he makes a slow down motion. Most cute women do not, cannot drain a shake in one go. "Well my foster parents are Latinos. Also9 the rst of the family. Rosa would try to make one thing for each of us once a week. Sunday she'd do Mexican or similar. We all started asking for it during the week on our nights. I mean I could go to Philly for a cheesesteak. We could go." He reaches for a frie and discovers they both grabbed it. Oops. He lets go.
Sunny Harlow Apparently viltrumites have decent metabolism because Sunny wasn't going to try and slow it down. It probably drove other girls her age crazy, but then again there were plenty of humans who could get away with similar. Still, she grins as he lets go of the fry, holding it out to him with a little wink.
Billy Batson Billy Batson takes the fry and eats it. He grabs another fry and holds it for her to bite. He grins.
Sunny Harlow Well, fair enough...Sunny just grins back, leaning in to take the bite of the fry with that same laugh and an exaggerated 'nom'.
Billy Batson Billy Batson checks to see if his fingers all there after the nom. He heaves an exaggerated sigh of relief. "Five. All there. You really like fries. Are they the source of your amazing abilities? Your beauty and charm?" Then a little awkwardly he leans in. He really can't help it. It's like gravity or magnetism. He leans in for a kiss after a moment, waiting for her to swallow and hoping she'd meet him halfway. Really a kiss should come at the end of the first date.

Hey they're superheroes. Some big ugly might throw a building at them. Date will be over. So darned right he leans in. Courage of Achilles, do him a solid.
Sunny Harlow Certainly it was forward, Sunny was in the midst of pouting at that comment, shaking her head. "No, they're just delicious, y'know?" the blonde points out before she blinks a little looking down at her food. Okay, so the heroine didn't have super perception amidst her powers, because...it seemed like she'd cluelessly missed him leaning in favor of her sandwich, closing her eyes happily. "This is really goof!" she offers, clearly enjoying herself...and completely blind to the moment of affection.

Well done Sunny.
Billy Batson Well it feels like he just said Shazam and nothing happened. He puts that aside seeing he caused Sunny to cloud over for a moment. "I'm sorry I tease. My foster family has five other kids. We tease. You should hear what my older sister does to me. When you're kind of undersized through most of high school, you learn to make people laugh or spend time iin a locker. Not that anyone would stick you in a locker. Here, have another fry, please?" He picks the choicest fry and holds it out to her with a smile.
Sunny Harlow "I've never been shoved in a locker," she nods before frowning, "never...seen it happen to anyone either. Guess I just don't hang around the crowd. Still, don't think I'd fit." A self-concious if amused glance downwards at her own chest she laughs, smirking a little. "Y'know you didn't offend me right? I just really like the sandwich!" Still there's a shrug and indeed another grin before she exaggerates a 'nom' yet again. "So, what do you wanna do after this?"
Billy Batson That's a good question. "We can change into our other clothes and catch a ball game. Th stadium rally doesn't mind if we sit way up there. They like having... us in attendance in case something goes wrong. I could show you what I know of Manhattan and Queens... we could do a podcast... I do a podcast. We can just go... to a movie. We can just... cruise around." He makes the supers flying gesture palms open and downward, thumbs touching. Depends who you want to finish the date with. You know."

Billy. Please! Shazam is a big doofus around girls. Except Ms. da Costa.
Sunny Harlow "Oh! Going for a uh...sightseeing tour could be fun. 'Cruising' and stuff. Maybe a walk in the park or something, or a movie sure..." Sunny trails off, lazily gesturing to the store around them. "I mean, this is nice too, don't get me wrong. I just...like I said, haven't really done the date thing."
Billy Batson Billy Batson leans close again but in a conspiring manner. "So we can do whatever we want. Cruising and a walk in the park sounds nice. I mean we're in a unique situation." Right -an angel dating a dork. Beauty and the geek. "I think some dessert is called for first. Do you agree?" He pats her hand and somehow, it's that darned force thing again, can't take his hand off hers for an embarrassing long moment. No it's still not coming off. He slides a little closer in the booth. Must be that mysterious force!
Sunny Harlow "I think I could be convinced," Sunny nods, grinning a little as she finishes off her sandwich. "Most things are better with icecream, right?"

Well, she wasn't pulling her hand away just yet, that was probably a good thing, right?
Billy Batson No not good. Great!

Billy hands her a card with desserts listed. "I'm just having a coffee..." He figures he should go easy as she offered to pay and this place was more expensive the Big Belly Burgers. He gives a glance at his hand still on hers. they are very fine hands indeed for juggling cars. Hmmm he should offer some money towards the bill. Why are superheroes always these billionaires in comic books? Actually that's true in real life a lot. Stark, Kord, Richards all have piles of money. Time for him to get a job. He can't have her paying his way aaaall the time. She already out eats him! He's not going to be the girl in this... dating thing. He gives her hand a little squeeze.

"You're really easy to hang with, you know that? I haven't hung out with... others a lot lately."
Sunny Harlow Catching his guilt she sets the dessert menu aside, shaking her head. "It's fine. I'm sure I'll feel way too full once it all settles anyway." Making to stand, she gives his hand a little squeeze in return before it's pulled back to dig for her wallet. "I'm glad!" she offers brightly before digging out her card and heading to pay. "Mostly I just hung out with the girls my age, or people I'm taking classes with."
Billy Batson Billy Batson reaches for his wallet as he stands. "Let me help with the tab. Taxes and tip at least? This is way more expensive than where we went last time." He tries to grab the bill, not really knowing about Viltrumite speed and reactions. He did see her move /fast/ but as Shazam. Things move slower when you're Shazam. He can swat bullets aside. Not that he bothers.
Sunny Harlow Sunny had made a point of practicing how -not- to move like a superhuman, how not to be discovered. It took more effort than perhaps she'd like, but it was a thing. It also meant that he could grab the bill even if she raises an eyebrow at that and laughs. "Fine, leave the tip for us, I can manage a sandwich or two, really. You can pay for the next one."

Well, at least she seemed to be promising a second meal. A second date? That had to count for something, right?
Billy Batson Billy Batson looks at the bill and lays out a tip, putting a plate on it. "I don't want people to swipe it from our server. She was nice. Well, thank you for this." He goes to give Sunny a big hug. Meanwhile his mind is racing through possibilities. Ah, he has it.

"You have your other outfit nearby?" His other outfit is always nearby; he keeps his muscles in it.
Sunny Harlow "Like I said," Sunny offers, patting the bag at her hip before she gives a little grin, the hug returned and a look around them. "We'll need to find a spot for me to change though...it takes a little longer to get ready, y'know. Compared to you anyway."
Billy Batson They leave, Billy again holds the door. He directs Sunny to a wooded area nearby. "I've been doing this a bit longer. I mapped out all the good places. No one will see you here. Just one thing... " She isn't eating now!

Billy gives Sunny a gentle hug and attempts another kiss. He's a little shy and tentative but...

"This might be the last time I'm Billy tonight and you're Sunny. I really like Billy with Sunny."
Sunny Harlow She doesn't pull away, that kiss catches her by suprise but she offers back a little peck, a laugh from the woman. "I thought that was meant to be at the end," she teases lightly before kissing his cheek. "But I suppose if it's the end of Billy and Sunny's night, that counts, right?" she teases lightly before grinning and lifting a hand, making a little 'turn around' gesture towards him before she starts to get her costume out of her bag.
Billy Batson Billy Batson turns around and indeed tries to be as wide as he knows how. Being pure of heart he doesn't look!

"Yeah I figured Billy might get the rest of the night off. I hope that's okay?" Awkward.
