Owner Pose
Monet St. Croix It's a quiet day over in the student gardens. Carefully tended to plants, likely organized by Ororo, set about. Monet St. Croix is currently meditating in a somewhat unusual position. Namely with her legs crossed underneath her.. But floating a meter or so up in the air with them curled up.
Henry McCoy Quiet day, nice day. Henry is all too happy to have some time after classes to himself. He's wandering about outside, toes wiggling as he walks through the grass. Quite the lovely sensation! As he starts through the gardens, he does spot Monet - levi-meditating.

There's a pause as he considers greeting her. Ultimately, his friendly nature takes over. "Afternoon, Monet. Lovely day, yes?"
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would shift, her eyes opening, "Greetings Doctor McCoy. Yes, it is pleasant. Thank you. I hope that you've been well and your research has been productive." She would unfold her legs and go to land. It was only polite to pay full attention to the man approaching - the smartest man in the Institute.
Henry McCoy A smile as she adjusts and returns to ground. "I hope I'm not interrupting your peaceful thoughts..." Hank chuckles. "So far, the research has been moving along. Thankfully there is no end to the things I need to look into around here. Mysteries and puzzles abound."

"How about yourself? Things going well for you lately?" He wonders, moving over to one of the benches in the garden layout.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would shake her head, "no, you are not. You are never disruptive, Doctor McCoy. And I have been well." She hadn't been gutted by a near Kryptonian level being in weeks after all! "I find that here is prone to contemplation and not interruption, unlike many of the student areas."
Henry McCoy A smile to that. "I think there are others who might disagree. With the ... more feral side of things taking over, I think I've caused a few ruckuses." Henry admits, sitting cross-legged on the bench. "Most of the students avoid the garden - it's too quiet. And Ororo might get upset if the garden was damaged." A wry grin. "Some do show up to study, however."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would nod at Hank, "I have not had such issues with them. Unless perhaps you mean Mister LeBeau. In which case I will concur, the scent is rather identical so it can be hard to tell the difference."
Henry McCoy A chuckle. "I meant me." Henry clarifies, motioning to his more feline appearance. "I think I've a better understanding of it, a better grip on it currently." The blue man explains, nodding to her. "Remy is an acquired taste in terms of personality, and behaviors." A wry grin at that.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would nod at Henry, "Ah. And I find you rather plesaant and charming, Doctor McCoy. Your presence is rather soothing, particularly within the school and eveyrthing going o about it."
Henry McCoy A slight embarassed posturing from Henry, the man nodding. "Thank you, Monet. It is appreciated. I am glad I can bring calm to some people." A smile. "It's not often we get peace in our lives - being told that I am able to provide it is a fantastic compliment."
Monet St. Croix M would look distant for a moment, "Yes. You are a very rational, thoughtful, and logical man, Doctor McCoy. Such beings are rare and to be treasured, particularly in temperament>"
Henry McCoy The Beast cants his head, looking to her for a moment. "There was a pause there... is something on your mind? Or troubling you?" Henry wonders.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would consider for a moment, and then sigh, "Merely as to how I am feeling.. Outmatched." She'd been beaten on by a mind controlled Supergirl nearly to death and then gutted by Cheetah.
Henry McCoy A nod. "With your skills and gifts, it's not often that happens, I would wager?" Henry comments. "Did you want to talk about it, perhaps? I can assure you, if you are still here - it was just a setback." He suggests. "I've learned that the hard way myself."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would nod distantly, "I.. Did not even register to them. It was meaningless for all that I can do. To.. Not be remotely even an irritant for them. To be a peasant." Ahh, girl with ego issues!
Henry McCoy There's an ah from the man. "It can be a blow to the soul, feeling that... powerless." He says, honestly. "I have run into that, even with my expansive understanding and knowledge. I was made to feel insignificant."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would nod sourly. "Yes. It has a manner of.. Putting one's place in perspective." So much about M being dedicated over ot the maintenance and cotninued operation of her ego.
Henry McCoy Another nod. "Indeed. But it does not nulify or define you, Monet. It is how you recover from these things, and overcome them in the future that matters. If every event is an act in the great production of our lives, then one must assume that as the protagonist we will move forward." A chuckle. "Else, the play will get bad reviews by the cosmic critics."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would let out a sigh over at Beast, "No, but it terrifies me." Wait,s he was beign open with her feelings without prompting? How rare. "But we do not mean much in the greater cosmic scope of things. We are but simply floating radioactive deritus admist the sea."
Henry McCoy That earns an arch of the brow from Henry. "Are you so sure? I've seen 'gods' and they all remark how our lives change the destiny of others. Change the world. We make a difference. Every mission, every battle, every victory and defeat matters." He explains. "Do not fall to nihlistic thoughts, Monet. You are better than that."
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would shake her head, "IT is not about destiny. IT is simply the way things are. How can I consider myself superior when I am so clearly so infinitesimal?"
Henry McCoy "You're not superior to all things, Monet. In nature, in the world, in the cosmos - there is always a bigger fish. Think on that, Monet. You are an intelligent woman, you know logically that to be true. You also know that every thing in the universe serves a purpose and has a role to fill." Henry explains, going into teacher mode. "Even mutants." He smirks.
Monet St. Croix Monet St. Croix would look like she was about to argue and engage on the point, but her facial expressions would shift over in analysis. Hank being one of the rare people she evidently trusted on things. "Thank you, Doctor McCoy, you are.. Right."
Henry McCoy A nod. "It is a tough lesson, trust me, I know. When I was in college, I thought I was the pinnacle of perfection in terms of athletics. I've met so many now who can dwarf me in such things - mutants who can lift more, faster, more agile." A smile. "In the end, the only competition I have is myself. Pushing myself further and bettering myself." Henry offers. "It is a matter of equilibrium with everything else. I have faith in you, however. I suspect you'll overcome this experience and use it to build yourself up and become more."
