Ororo Munroe Ororo's found a fairly steady 'work/life balance' as of late, admittedly, that's only by stretching the definition until 'work' is 'weather-controlling heroics' and 'life' is 'actually her job'. But she hasn't missed teaching any classes lately, and there's been a merciful streak of good weather. It's just a shame that it's all managed to come to an end. Well, the good weather has. Luckily it's a weekend, so that streak of classroom days is intact.

Which is more than anyone's going to be able to say about the docks in Brooklyn if someone doesn't do something. A sudden turn to the weather has frothing, angry whitecaps crashing over the docks, sleet and rain filling the air. And that's the /good/ part. The water twisting further out in the harbor is the bad news, because it's only growing more violent, beginning to sweep up into the air as a truly astonishing waterspout forms. Luckily, with the weather being so foul, Ororo doesn't have to worry about anyone seeing her in her civilian attire, seemingly unworried about being in nothing more than jeans and a tanktop in the midst of a raging storm, but part of her, despite not finding the cold and wind uncomfortable, is thankful she's not doing this out of costume in front of the public! It's important to keep a certain amount of glamor to one's heroics.

And so she floats, eying the weather, gathering her focus, and keeping an eye out for anyone else approaching... she's got a feeling this is big enough /someone/ else is going to try and handle it, and it's always nice to have help.
Billy Batson The unusual weather report had drawn Shazam, as it was becoming usual. He and Indestructibelle responded to a waterspout off Jamaica Bay in the past few weeks. It seemed an apt proving ground for the young champion. He did possess the Power of Zeus. At first it merely meant summoning the lightning to transform himself. He eventually progressed to hurling his own lightning to explode and later recharge smart phones. To those who insisted lightning didn't charge phones, his did. Magic. He recently invoked his power to summon a storm to put out a fire. A full power barrage severely injured the Juggernaut (for about a minute). A later blast had dispersed a waterspout but both uses turned him back to Billy. He was determined to be more careful! After all, last time, Sunny was there to catch him.

Lost in his thoughts, Shazam almost misses the beautiful weather shaper. Zeus, gives him a mental nudge, his power over storms detecting another. Also Zeus always had an eye for the ladies. Shazam slows up and stops a few yards from Ororo. Annoyingly, he hardly looks wet from the rain. "--! -'m, Sha---!" He waves. Talking over a storm is not one of his powers.
Ororo Munroe Ororo might not have a god in her head to point out Shazam's approach, perhaps an unexpected downside to being a pantheon of one. But then, a flying figure in a cape and bright red costume? Ororo prides herself on at /least/ paying attention to her surroundings, and she might very well sense his wake in the rain. However she does it, she's lifting an arm in a wave with a bright smile, seemingly unworried about the thunder and lightning in the air.

"Hey! I'm Oro.. uhh, Storm! Of the X-Men!" She says the last with just a /bit/ of tension in that accented voice. After all, she's never quite sure how that team name's going to be received. Despite a powerful voice, Ororo's not got any sort of special ability to talk over raging storms. But she's got the presence of mind to float in close to Shazam so her yelling is at least audible, "So... do you have a lot of experience with stopping these? The last time I ran into one Aquaman was around and he sort of handled the..." She frowns and gestures downwards, effectively indicating the entire ocean beneath.
Billy Batson Shazam moves in closer to be heard. He rally needs one of those ear thing gummies the JL has. "Hi! I'm Shazam! Consider me an X-ally! 'X' not 'ex'! I mean..." He does an X in the air with lightning. Then he gets down to business looking downward. "Hmmm. I could try to step up a counter wave. That's how one of the Flashes would do it -I think." He wished Irie had talked shop more when they hung out. "I can secure stuff on the docks too. I do a little weather myself but I'm honestly, I'm new at it. Father Zeus points out a correct term is more honestly, bad, incompetent and sucks. What a father. No wonder Ares turned out the way he did.

"Tell me what you need and I'll do it."
Ororo Munroe Ororo can't hold back a laugh at the work done to avoid a mixup between 'ex' and 'X', bobbing her head, and filing it away under 'Funny stories to tell around the coffee pot' later on. She eyes the waterspout, now towering even above their ascended position in the sky... it's not quite apocalyptic, it's just /very bad/. That's got to count for something. "Alright, I can disrupt the storm, if you want to try and counter the spout itself as it weakens!"

Ororo draws a deep breath, head whipping to fling that drenched mane of white hair out of her face, arms lifting and spreading, eyes going from stark, intent blue to white, and there's an immediate shift in the wind, a few brief, more intense flashes of lightning and cracks of thunder, but the whirling chaos of the spout lessens, like its fury is being redirected into the storm above, but further out to sea.
Billy Batson Shazam does a whoa at the weather goddess in action, then flies down into the water. Once he's under he begins swimming or flying, fly swimming really agains the current, in a wide circle. He gets steadier as he goes along. It's dark under the raging water and he has no vision power. Wait he can make his own light(ning)!

Streamers of sparkles shoot out from Shazam. More sure of his direction he picks up speed. Just don't call him Flash! Ororo will feel the lightning sparking upward. Perhaps it can even give her own efforts a boost because: MAGIC. She'd find it strangely mutable, even coming with a stun setting so to speak.
Ororo Munroe Ororo loses herself for a moment, floating in the air motionless, as the wind shifts and dies, the swirling pillar of water beginning to slow and lessen in intensity, the wind whipping at her clothes softening, the lightning and thunder beginning to lessen in frequency and intensity. There's a brief moment where the storm surges again, but then Shazam's magic is infusing the air, and rippling through the clouds, a burst of energy that seems to ripple out, the clouds going from angry, towering peaks of darkness, to dark grey mounds, the wind and rain lessening, and as Shazam works on the waterspout directly, it begins to collapse... the boats at the docks are in for a little bit of rocking and rolling, but the storm is rapidly losing its fury and trending from 'Natural disaster' to 'Miserable day that gives you an excuse to stay in and make a casserole'.

And Ororo's only /kind/ of wobbling in the air like she's taken a lot out of herself! She definitely hasn't passed out. ....Yet.
Billy Batson Shazam feels the water spout disperse, which is quite cool. He bursts out of the ocean and flies upward. He stops at his previous altitude and looks for Storm. He's about to give a yell and wave and sees a distinct wobble. Knocking one of these things out is some heavy lifting. He quickly flies to the Mutant and scoops her up.

"Hey, take it easy. I have you. You get the Deluxe Princess Carry Shazam Special. I've been there." He looks around. "This was a great job. I was glad to help out. Can we set down and get a coffee or something...?"
Ororo Munroe Ororo's not quite unconscious, but upon being scooped up, the most protest she gives is a self-conscious little noise low in her throat, before her full weight is let free from her ability to fly, "That... was a lot easier last time." She shakes her head and sighs, "Probably because having someone controlling the current in the ocean directly helps with the weather system above." If anything, she sounds downright personally affronted by this fact of physics. Still, as the clouds clear, she can't help but flash a grin, "But hey, you did really good with that water spout! You are totally an X Ally."
Sunny Harlow Reports of another water spout -had- reached Sunny. Unfortunately for Indestructibelle? Her 'day job' had kept her busy and she'd been late to find out! One hasty change and a sonic boom later, the blonde girl was zooming across the sky, headed towards the scene only to slow at the familier sight of Shazam in the air and the apparently settled weather.

"Huh," she muses as she sweeps in only to spot Ororo's supported form. "Is uh...is everything okay here?"
Billy Batson Shazam's smile on seeing the blonde flying over quickly fades as he looks down to consider his charming rescue. "Oh. Hey... Indestructibelle. Yes. Everything is okay. Storm here was dispersing anther waterspout, while I tried to settle the waves. It left her a little exhausted. Sort of like me the other day when you had to rescue me. Mmmm, Storm this is my partner Indestructibelle." Ororo might be able to feel the blush from Shazam. Well he handled that. It's not like she's schmoozing him.
Ororo Munroe Ororo's not so out of it she doesn't notice Sunny flying in, but she's at least looking bedraggled enough that she's not throwing off auras of 'Shamelessly lounging in Shazam's arms'. But she still manages a bit of cool attitude in lifting one hand to sketch a little wave, "Oh, hey! Today's mutant tip of the day is /not/ to destabilize a late autumn atlantic storm cell /before/ breakfast. Breakfast is in fact the most important meal of the day." she manages it with equal parts cool, stern Experienced Heroicness, and tired Do As I Say, Not as I Do tiredness. Still, as eyes dart back and forth between Sunny and Shazam, her lips split in a slow, wide grin to Shazam, because she's instantly figuring if he's /this/ flustered, that term 'partner' has some gravity. Though she's happy enough to slip her way free of that carry as the reach the ground and she doesn't have to worry about /actual/ gravity. "Huh... I don't /think/ I've felt anything like someone running a weather control machine lately, but that's an odd coincidence."
Sunny Harlow "One waterspout is freaky," Sunny agrees as she floats nearer, apparently unbothered or completely ignorant of the blushing as she moves closer. The alien heroine in her white and red suit, (cape and all!) does actually offer a hand out to the other woman to support her before shrugging her shoulders. "So, sensing and fixing stuff means...you can control the weather, right? That's neat!" Bright smile, earnest concern, seems Sunny lived up to her namesake. "Do you need something to eat after that? I'm sure we could stop for a donut or something while we look around for causes..."
Billy Batson Shazam decides Sunny's ability to eat donuts and look this good is a bonafide superpower. He lets go of Ororo. "She's incredible with weather. It just does what she wants. I set off a lightning tac nuke to blow the waterspout apart. I'm glad you came out 'Belle." Ororo might catch the quick brush of Shazam's hand against hers.

"Hey I'll treat you both to breakfast. There was a cafe I saw down this way." He drifts a little to stand beside 'Bell.
Ororo Munroe Ororo nods to Sunny and grins lopsidedly, "Yeah, I'm Storm. I can control the weather, though I try /not/ too too often." She gives an exaggerated glance around and stage whispers, "You give one person a good long weekend of warm weather, and then everyone starts wanting it, and then... well, I don't know, probably it causes a cascading ripple of dramatic climate events." Shoulders lift and fall helplessly and sighs out, "So it's better to just be responsible and /not/ meddle when I don't have to."

She nods to Shazam and grins brightly, "Well, I'm not going to turn down donuts, and certainly not /free/ donuts!" And she falls into step with the duo... even if now she kind of regrets /not/ getting one of her costumes out beforehand.
Sunny Harlow Sunny's suit was repaired from last time and the encounter with the impromptu fragmentation bomb. If nothing else, she'd gotten damn good at sewing nowadays! Still the young woman who was introduced offers Shazam a little fond nudge back before she stretches her arms over her head and then back down to fold beneath her cape and behind her back.

"So...you're an 'out' mutant huh?" she questions lightly. Way to make easy conversation!
Billy Batson Shazam frowns. "I don't think Mutants should have to be concealed. They ought to be free to live their lives. I met a few aaaaand they're people. And sometimes a power can be a curse. We all have problems. Anyway, here's the cafe. I'm getting a Boston Cream!" Shazam holds the door for the ladies and enters behind them. "I just need to use the facilities... don't mind the lightning. It's a long story." Short story: the money is in Billy's pocket. He heads for the restrooms.
Ororo Munroe Ororo laughs softly and shrugs at Sunny's question with a sigh, "Well, not entirely. But... I mean, you fly around and start altering the weather and people start asking questions. And I couldn't think of a good excuse. So I just try to balance between being a mutant and... you know, making sure no one who'd take that as a bad thing knows where I live?" As Billy announces his own donut choice, Ororo looks up to the menu board with a thoughtful frown. "I mean, I suppose it's pretty unlikely that anyone would pick a fight with me while I was flying around and could just fling them into the air or zap them with a lightning bolt."
Billy Batson There is a blast of lightning, fairly close. A moment later Billy Batson exits the restroom. He stops almost immediately, looks at Sunny and makes a shushing motion. Billy does a heel turn and slips back in. After another blast of lightning Shazam exits all smiles, money in hand. He slides into the booth next to Indestructibelle and makes his order after the ladies, Go ahead, laugh, Billy thinks. You had waaaay more costume malfunctions than me. He gives her a knowing smile.
Sunny Harlow The exit of Billy? It does get a little expression of amusement, but Sunny does her best to disguise it as simply a friendly smile and glances around. In their current attire? Sunny and Billy both were almost certainly going to be getting some looks!
Ororo Munroe Ororo's none the wiser as Billy nearly gives up his secret identity, maybe she /might/ have realized she didn't sense that lightning strike coming, but a donut menu will bewitch even the most astute weather goddess time to time. Especially when there's a maple dip on the menu. Ororo's clearly not discomforted by her wet state... although, if anything the way she's not paying it any heed is probably as unusual to the cafe staff as her friends in costumes! "Well, on the plus side, if nothing else, we've saved Halloween for the kids of Brooklyn." She quirks one eyebrow suddenly, "Although now that I think about it, 'Waterspout ruins Halloween' is /definitely/ the sort of scheme an angry teenager would come up with... someone might need to reach out to one of those groups that tracks mad scientists."
Billy Batson Shazam looks perturbed a moment. "I completely forgot what tomorrow is. Well, I have a costume anyway. I never wnet trick or treating as Shazam, this should be fun." He almost puts his arm around Sunny -Indestructibelle, but turns it into a stretch.
Sunny Harlow "I'll have a costume," Sunny affirms...but she can't say what it is, left she offer too big a crumb on who her true identity was!

As for Storm's comment? That has the bright 'Belle' blinking. "Wait, that's a thing? Like a mad science who's who?"
Ororo Munroe Ororo shrugs helplessly, "I mean, it /has/ to be right? There's always like, crazy robots showing up, or bank robbers with laser guns and stuff... you figure the hero groups that wind up dealing with them must keep some kind of rolodex. Or like... SHIELD?" White eyebrows furrow more as Ororo seems to be trying to think of whether or not /she/ knows anyone in SHIELD. But mostly she's focused on eating her donut, and then grabbing two napkins to scrawl her cell number down, "But hey, if either of you need like... weather expertise or whatever, just text me! I'm usually near the city. Then she's eying her own phone, eyes widening as she nearly /springs/ from the table, "Aaaaand I just realized I'm late for a thing! Thanks for the help, nice to meet you both!" And off Ororo goes, to further heroics! Definitely not to detention supervision. She's far too responsible to have forgotten to set an alarm for /that/. Totally.
