Peter Quill The Milano was flying through space.

"Alright! Here's the play-by-play." says the captain of this legendary ship and the 'leader' of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter Quill: AKA Star-Lord aka 'Dancing Queen of the Universe' two years running. "We stop by Knowhere, we meet with the Quatarnax Battery dealer, we load that bitch onto the Milano and we head back to Earth for some R&R."

He looks at his standing 'crew' which is just Richard Rider, AKA Nova.

"Any questions?" He sits in the pilot's chair, pushing the throttle evermore forward as the ship hummed with energy. He has a shit-eating grin on his face like he always did. Going through the spectacular motions.

He lives for this shit.
Rich Rider Today Rich Ryder wasn't in uniform. Golden Helmet. Midnight Blues. Big eyes. That kind of thing. Nope. Today, he was in "civilians". Rough outfit, dark jacket, dark jeans, boots from an 80s army flick, even chewing something called "bubble gum" of which, he was not out of.

Maneuvering his way into the area, Ryder was cool. Sitting down. Calm. Collected. Not at all looking out of place. Nope. He was a rogue. Yeah...this wasn't what everyone else saw, but as it was, he smiled and tried to be the part of a space rogue. Whatever that was.

"Nope! No questions Mon Capitaine!" Nova says to Quill. "Giddyup!"
Wendell Vaughn     So, training is everything these days. While others have borne the Quantum Bands, were tolerated by the bands, nobody has truly -bonded- with them in the way that Wendell has. His link was explained to him by Eon... but not explained clearly. The cosmic entity, keeper of the 'Cosmic Awareness' power... whose appearance could weird out most people... That being did not really explain it clearly, but he did say that the bands chose and bonded to Wendell fully on a neural level, and that the bond was deep enough that their full capabilities would be unlocked. Capabilities that are going through a test phase right now.

Funny thing, with all of the weird powers available, convincing Wendell to fly up into space was a more difficult challenge. The knowledge that there was no air up there was enough to get his hind brain into a near panic, until he got there and realized that he -could- still breathe. His quantum aura held enough air for hours of operation.

And then with a smile on his face, he decided to test the Quantum Jump ability of shunting himself into the Quantum Zone and coming out somewhere else. "WARP SPEED!" He cried out before vanishing in a golden flash. He didn't really have a destination in mind. Fortunately, Eon did. So with another ultra-bright flash of golden energy, he appeared in orbit of Knowhere. "Huh. Giant floating head? Really?" he asked as he floated there.... conspicuous in the max.
Rich Rider Nova was enjoying the ride, right until that last part. Knowhere was a place, well, in the middle of frickin' nowhere, and now they were there. "Nice piloting Captain!" Ryder says with a grin. Now we get to get on with this trek. Been wanting to get back to Earth asap!"
Peter Quill Pete grins at Nova. "Damn straight!" and he starts pushing the throttle even further to punch the Milano into high gear, to send it sailing through the vast cosmos of space to do what the Milano does best: burn startdust.

Then he nearly runs over a cosmic warrior who appears out of literal 'Knowhere' the second that the Milano drops out of a jump point. "What the FLARK?!" he drifts the ship through space, looking out the cockpit window to see Wendell Vaughn, the Quasar, out there.

"....What the hell is he wearing?" He looks at the quantum bands on his wrists.
Wendell Vaughn     And so, in that red and blue costume, Wendell floats out there in space. As the Milano emerges from its FTL jump, the bands flicker a warning into Wendell's brain. The eenrgy surge is picked up, and the bands glow as they harden up his aura. Shoring up his defenses, so to speak.

"Holy hell!" he cries out himself as he veers to one side, trying to evade the ship on a near collision course. The energy signature of the ship's power cells pings in his brain. He sends a directed radio pulse as he calls out, "Sorry if I was in your way. Is everyone aboard okay?"
Rich Rider Nova hangs on tight as Quill does his thing, and looks at the readout on his chair's monitor after eye-ing the personage out the window. "Wow. Um. Reading sare off the scale almost at Phyla level." He drops a former member long gone.

"Maybe we should invite him in, see what he has to say, ask him to the team, seeing as how its just the two of us, and we have "Shore Leave" on Knowhere planned? He can buy the first rounds. Or ten."

The comms light up and a voice comes over them. "Wait...did that come over coms?" A pause. Tapping a button Nova says, "Uh, yeah, we're okay. You good?"
Peter Quill Peter /stares/ sharply at the Quantum Bands. Quantum Bands that belonged to Phyla-Vell. A friend, now dead. Where the hell did he get those? "Yeah. Why not." Peter mentions, before he taps into Rich Rider's mic to talk to Quasar. "Hey, come on board and have a beer? We'd love to have ya as an apology letter for almost turning you into space sleet. You interested?" He grins a little bit.

And of course, Pete hasulterior motive.

"Besides, you might be able to help us on a job, considering you can fly and all that. Up for a wonderful misadventure in space?"
Wendell Vaughn     Beer? Wendell wrinkles up his nose, but he is confident that he is in no danger. "I'm at your airlock now." he transmits as he floats over and holds position there. When allowed inside, he sets his feet on the deck and lets his Quantum Aura fade out once he spots the fact that he is among humans.

His brows lift in the eyeholes of his mask, and he tilts his head to one side. "Well, you have a lot of energy in you." he says to Rich before looking to Peter, "You must be the Captain. You have that Captain quality."
