Phoebe Beacon     Sometimes Phoebe listened to weird stuff when she was doing training work. At the moment it's a rendition of 'While my Guitar Gently Weeps' by the Yoshida Brothers, wearing her Yoga Goat Yoga Pants, covered with rainbow goats indeed doing yoga, and a loose tee over a compression tank top. Her bare feet are showing the paler splotches, looking like someone had spilled milk over the tops of her feet now. Her hair was in cornrows and neatly pinned behind her as she works through staff kata for warm ups, that she follows as naturally as she breathes. She's only been doing it since she was five years old, after all.

She has her supernatural go-bag tucked against the wall.
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney was attempting to balance her work life a bit more. That is to say, balance it between Gotham and New York. With Tim still interested in seeing that she get the training to be a team leader she had to focus more of her time here than with the JLD. At least things were slow, and she had backup with the JLD. They weren't a team that needed to always be at the ready--Though it wouldn't hurt to on occasion work together to keep the whole 'group' mentality going.

Having already finished a stack of reading he'd prepared for her in to learn she felt the need to stretch her legs a bit. Naturally her path leads here. It wasn't quite 'swinging through the cityscape' time yet.

A grin creeps over her as she spots Phoebe giving a quiet nod over ot her as she moves along the side of the mat. Better to avoid accidentaly interrupting until she's in sight at least. "Hey, Pheebs."
Phoebe Beacon     Phoebe turns in her kata, and she hops up, neatly executing a hands-free cartwheel, landing and sweeping her practice staff, the wooden bo vibrating as its tip hits the ground.

"Hey Gabby." Phoebe comments, almost distractedly, opening her eyes as she regards the dark-haired clone, and she takes a breath, holds it, and she blows it out before she scratches at the back of her scalp.

    "How's team lead training going?"
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney sticks her tongue out while her face scrunches up giving her thoughts on the matter. It's followed by a good natured grin though and all she can do is shrug. "It's ... a lot. A lot more than I'd even consider. The bats really really like to have a lot of plans and backup plans and memorized routines. I mean it makes sense but it is a lot to take in," she admits while pausing to stretch her arms overhead with a yawn.

"What about you? Haven't really seen you since that time in medbay. Things going better?"
Phoebe Beacon     "Keeping busy. The Bats and their plans and backups is no joke. I've been in 'the Bats' for the better part of a year and it still feels like I'm in the first week." Phoebe sticks her tongue out with a 'bleh' expression.

"Velocity is still hanging around. I think she'll be joining up with the Outsiders. Bart'll be thrilled. We'll have to double the groceries." She pauses, and makes a face.

    "Again."

And she breathes out. "Gotta admit I was kinda jealous, but after my run with leadership... wasn't exactly the best candidate." she states, giving a bit of a shrug.
Gabby Kinney "Well to be fair, he asked me to do this quite awhile ago." Gabby finishes her stretch letting her arms swing back down to her sides. Even if she could heal that didn't mean a good stretch didn't feel good. Keeping limber was still good to do, and it did help wake her a bit after sitting so long reading.

"After he and the others were kidnapped by Nowhere. I kind of fell into the role accidentally. Then I got caught up with spending time with my sister, and then the JLD along with her." All she can do is shrug.

"Honestly still not sure I'm great at it but I'm trying my best."
Phoebe Beacon     "Yeah I know. I was there in Nowhere. I got to be part of a vivisection sans localized anethesics." Phoebe replies with a tinge of sour in her voice. It was not a good time, and she breathes out with a huff.

"You'll be good at it. You've patiently dealt with eeeeverybody's BS. Including Tim's." she cracks a small smile at that.
Gabby Kinney "Well, you've all dealt with mine too," Gabby points out with a chuckle of amusement at the thought of it. "And really compared to my sisters... The ones I grew up with, and the lab workers, most everything else isn't bad at all. Though there are times it's frustrating," she finally has to admit with a glance toward the ceiling.

"Mostly with the JLD people. Sometimes with the guys on the team here." Lifting her hands she scrubs them over her face a few times. "I can't say I don't feel like I fit in, but I do feel like I'm not as close with people as I could be, too."
Phoebe Beacon     "... it's hard to be close to the people you're supposed to be leading. Because sometimes, you're going to have to make a decision that they're not going to like. An' you'll have to be the one in charge and tell them 'no, we're doing it this way' -- with whatever consequences come after." she does a low, back-leg sweep, and then summersaults forward and just... spluts onto the mats.

"... they're doing okay though? The JLD?" she asks, her shoulder rising up as she rubs against it.

"I spoke with Lyds the other day. She says things are better."
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney moves to the mat where she pauses to sink down into a cross-legged seated posture. Her hands grasp her ankles lightly as she shifts rolling her weight to one side to at least continue her stretching while conversing. "Yeah, we're doing good. They're doing good. There's a few folks I need to touch base with to check on. I think ... I think it helps having a few more 'down to Earth' people around. I know it won't always be the case, but to say it felt like we were always in over our head is pretty accurate."

"There will be times that'll come up again in different ways, I'm sure, but it's the small things that give us confidence to keep moving, too. Smaller issues that we *can* help with. And I feel like it helps doing those things, both for morale and for keeping the world running smooth. Humanity isn't the only ones that have been here for ages, after all."
Phoebe Beacon     "What, Jon 'The Sum of Human Knowledge' Simms wasn't down to Earth enough?" Phoebe cracks an honest smile there, but she had her own opinions, and those were going to be remaining unsaid.

"I'm glad. I was kind of hoping that would be the case. You know, the group started out as something actually... intended to be smaller. I remember Diana being so surprised that I--" she pauses, and then she just shakes her head "'Nother time... look, there is kinda some pressing business that's tangentally attached to Bats and the JLD..."
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney rocks her weight forward a little at this to fix Phoebe with her full attention. The rest she could remark on but it didn't seem right to do so at this point. Instead it was the mention of business that causes her eyes to slip into sharp focus. "Yeah? I'm all ears. You know you can talk to me about anything, Pheebs. I'll help if I can."
Phoebe Beacon     Phoebe takes a deep breath, and she sets her staff in front of her as she assumes a lotus position, the bottoms of her feet up.

"... I really, really need you... to *not* tell Tim about my hanging around Robbie." she whispers, and then she rubs the back of her neck. "He's been kind enough to pick me up out of crap weather a couple of times. He's been to my place at the Curio when a girl accidentally turned one of her LARPing-mates to stone an' we're..." she pauses, and her ears get very dark, and she turns her dark eyes to the side.

"We go out sometimtoes. On like, normal hang outs."
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney grows rather still as she sits there still grasping hold of her ankles in that cross-legged posture. The smile has faded though she doesn't look upset. She's just listening and putting two and two together as she knew they were already spending time together. It was hard to miss that familiar smell of clove cigarettes and hellfire mingling together.

It's all taken in quietly. A single deep breath is drawn as she musters up a smile for Phoebe. "Okay. I'll be sure not to mention it to him," she assures knowing that she sometimes could be a blabber mouth. It was just part of who she was--but she could be serious, too.

"I'm glad you two are getting along. And don't worry about the past with us--Me and Robbie I mean." A hand lifts to run back through her hair as she continues, hurrying on to try and reassure her friend that things were okay. "I mean it's been awhile since he and Rien were dating and I had plenty of time to get over my crush when he chose her over me, so don't worry about making things weird on my end of things. I'll make sure not to spread it around."
Phoebe Beacon     Phoebe draws her leg up, and she sets her chin on her knee. She listens to Gabby, and then her eyes narrow, and she raises her other hand and mutters a spell.

And Gabby's hair is now cotton candy blue.

"I'm not worried. He's been super patient with everything. Even my butt getting used to the idea of actually... dating someone. Since my history of liking guys is 'ghost, ghosted, ends up being my adopted brother'." Phoebe shakes her head. "And I kinda wanted to talk to you and make sure it wasn't weird. Because your sister, his ex, kinda ran off with the demon-controlled-when-he-adopted-me dad who threatened to kill me." Phoebe states this as if *it happened all the time*.

    "Ohmigod his dimples."
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney crosses her eyes to look at the sudden shift of color that was her new hair color. Ah. She'd hit a nerve, but this was a punishment she could easily deal with. A lopsided grin comes as she explains, "I meant worry about it being weird," she points out with a little shake of her head.

Another breath is drawn as she grows a bit more serious. "Phoebe, my sister was encouraging me to go after him. She'd bring me to visit him at the garage. I talked Tim into getting me some of Alfred's cookies to bring to him. We'd giggle over how cute and shy he was, and she urged me to 'go for it.'"

"And then for about a week I heard nothing from either of them after a mission out in the Astral. And then I went on what I *thought* was a date with him... Only for him to tell me he'd fallen for my sister. She was too afraid to tell me herself."

"So trust me when I say, YOU dating him is not even *close* to being weird." Here she pauses to grin giving a knowing nod. "He does have cute dimples."
Phoebe Beacon     "Yeah he does. He also fixed my old grampa bike for me and likes to complain that I'm a pain in the ass for not checking the weather reports since he's had to bail me out of ice storms on my motorcycle twice now." Phoebe gives a sheepish grin, and she draws her legs up.

"... I'm just kinda scared that Tim or Batman will find out about it and make me cut it off, 'cause of... you know. The occasional turning into a Hellish Fire-Headed Demon thing." Phoebe sets her face.

"Which I get, I have a fabulously bad track record with demons." she admits, pointing to the wide collar that hides her injuries from the last one she tangled with.
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney allows herself a little snort of amusement as she listens further. A quick shift of her weight lets her work back to her feet giving a little stompy foot against the mat to help ease the tingles that had started in her feet while sitting like that. "I don't know of anyone that has good experiences with demons," she points out. "I'll keep it quiet though," she assures with a nod, and a quickly flashed grin.

Given her hair was already a different color she risks reaching out to give Phoebe a light little bop atop her head. Not a noogie, closer to a pat, before withdrawing again. "I'm gonna get back to studying I guess. Glad to hear things are going better for you."
Phoebe Beacon     "Well, let's not get overexcited." Phoebe hops up to her feet. "I mean, there's still plenty of time for me to destroy things like I always do." Phoebe wisecracks, then kicks up her staff again.

"Thanks, Gabby. I really do appreciate it... once I figure out how to frame it, I'll deal with things."
