Franklin Richards Franklin invited himself to the school again though today he did not just sugar cookies, but ontop of the box of the little four shapped sugar cookies is a deck that he had purchased. The box around the deck of cards says Tarot Cards, and they look like thick sleaved cards inside the box though it is closed right now. He looks down a bit frustrated, as he had been trying to use them, but he swears he is just doing it wrong or something as they just didn't want to work for him. So here he was outside the computer hall, as he glances in looking through the window like a lost person looking about though he knew where he was meaning to go.

With a sigh he looks down at the cookies in his hands and wasn't sure if he was supposed to bring food around computers so stood outside the doorway in waiting calmly to be noticed.

The young man just breaking his twenties, dressed head to toe in fantastic four merch, the black and blue hoodie with the four on it. The matching pants, and todays shirt is Johnny with the words 'Flame On!' on the front. He would scan that room until he noticies Marie, though once he spots her he waits watching her quietly. He wasn't sure if she could detect someone staring at her without her cards, but today he was going to figure it out.

There was a simple smile on his face as he wasn't angry or anything just experimenting so he looks if anything lost in though though there is no doubt he is waiting for her specificly.
Marie-Ange Colbert For her part, Marie's been inand out of the computer lab all day. Working on a class project for one of her classes; this particular one requiring her to splice together a few different tracks that she recorded individually into a single performance. She's got an oversized pair of headphones on to better hear it, and some of the sounds can be heard from within -- if Franklin's familiar with the music of the fifties and sixties, it sounds something like 'Along Comes Mary' by the Association, but with different instruments used than the original recording... and a female voice singing. Yes, with a French accent.

She's content to make adjustments for several seconds on what she was working on.... before she stops what she's doing, moves her mouse pointed to save her project in progress, and turns her head.

"Did you need this seat, Monsieur Franklin?" the French-accented voice asks, pale hands reaching up to lower the headphones.

Could she tell if he was there without her cards? ...of course. Granted, it was because of his reflection in the computer's monitor, but she noticed him nonetheless!
Franklin Richards Franklin listens with that smile though he did not know the song as it was well before his time, and even his sister said how he sat in silence when doing things wierd. He listens to the music though as it wasn't bad even with the french accent. As she saves, and turns asking him if he needed the seat he chuckled lightly. "No Miss... I am actually looking for you." as he glances around a bit to place the boxes. "It is not bad." he adds nodding to the headphones, as it was the truth. "Though I am afraid I am not a music buff, but it is good to find ways to express yourself. I draw art.." he admits as he felt intruding if he did not.

With a light sigh he continues to explain, "I.. have been inspired by the Tarot, and I thought I would try it." he shrugs a bit, "Though I have had some mixed results.." he says slowly as it wasn't mixed it was the same thing over, and over, but he wasn't sure what to make of it.

Looking at the deck then to her now freshly saved program, "If you have time, I do not mean to interupt what you are doing.. especially if it is a school thing." and smiles a bit "Jean even spokes me a little when she gets upset at me."
Marie-Ange Colbert "Music helps me center myself," Marie replies, taking the headphones off fully when Franklin mentions that he was looking for her. Letting the computer shut down; she can work more on her project later, she's decided. "I spent many years not being able to properly express myself," Until Jenny helped her build a backbone. "and music has taught me that, as well as many other valuable lessons. It is why I am studying it, here." She's a Music Major! "Do you use your artistic skills for the same purpose?"

Talk of the tarot catches her attention, though, eyes lighting up a bit. "Mixed results?" she echoes. For Marie, that's... not common at all, so she's trying to figure out just why that's happening to Franklin.

"I have time." She'll make time. "Would you prefer to explain to me what is going on, or would you prefer to show me?"
Franklin Richards Franklin nods, "I get it.. Though to be honest I would prob say the same thing if you were horrible because expressing oneself is important. Thankfully you are not, as I am not such a good lier." he chuckles a bit again being too honest and so proving his point. He listens a bit and thinks about it before answering. "Yes, though sometimes I see it though on a blank canvis." he admits a bit embarased. "I just paint what I see, and it comes out looking like it was ment to. Though it feels like a cheap victory... if that makes sense even?" and grins a bit with another shug,

He gives a sigh, "Unfortunetly art is very hard to explain.. I wish I ha a better answer." though he would never major in it, though he doesn't know music was her, he had a few majors as he needed to in his father's program. Reaching over he pulls out the Tarot cards from the deck, and nods to the other box, "Sugar cookies I bought from the store." he adds as him making them was a poorly kept secret, but he still kept the lie as he didn't want everyone to know.

Shuffling them he looks over at her with a smile. "Well... everytime..." then stops shuffling cutting it a few times to make sure they are mixed well, and flips over one card.. The Tower Card.

With a sigh he put the card back, and shuffles again. "I don't get it.. I mean I am not using any special shuffle.. I will let you if you wish, but everytime." he stops again pulling a Tower card once again. He then tilts his head a bit, "Also... This is wierd." and he flips a card, and it is a second tower.

With a sigh he shakes his head, "I could of swore they were supposed to have only one." though he chuckles, as he starts shuffling again with both in there again. "I can do it again if you wish?"
Marie-Ange Colbert "Oh, no. I understand, Monsieur Franklin. Sometimes I will just sit with my violin... and play. No sheet music, no plan, just me and the bow, making something out of nothing and just letting the melodies take me... it is useful for original compositions." Marie offers, her lips curving into a little smile. "Perhaps, one day, you will hear some of these on the radio." Although, violinists aren't usually involved in most popular music.

She does reach a hand out for one of the cookies, taking it in her hand. "My compliments to the store." she adds with a little grin, before taking a bite as she watches the demonstration. The appearance of the Tower in the first draw is never the greatest omen -- but then to see it repeated? It makes Marie frown.

"These do not seem like... mixed... results, Monsieur Franklin. The cards are trying to send you a message. How do you believe it should be interpreted?" Marie asks, inclining her head slightly.

Depending on the Question, it could have a number of different interpretations, although most of them are... less than optimistic.. "Consider the question that you're asking the deck, and use that in finding the answer."
Franklin Richards Franklin smiles, and nods "I am glad to hear it as not many can dance to a song that is not yet playing." and chuckles a bit to himself, and gives her a nod. "I am not much of a radio person, though if you release anything I expect a signed copy at the Baxtor building." he adds with a grin. "Of course if your too big by then for little ol me I will truely understand." and chuckles a bit again as he stops shuffling offering her a cookie when requested of course then like he is trying to surprise it draws two real fast, Tower... Tower. With a sigh he puts them back, and considers grining at the complement.

Franklin smiles, "Perhaps mixed was the incorrect word, though it happends whenever I ask anything. I tried to see what the weather was tomorow, and I will let you guess." and grins as it was also tower, tower.

Looking at it he holds the deck out for her to try , "Well... I was wondering if maybe it was me or them." he pulls them back if they are reached for just for a moment with a "Careful." warning, as maybe it was a curse. He had not used other cards, so maybe it was just something that will happen to him from now on.
Marie-Ange Colbert "Of course!" Marie laughs, shaking her head. "Madame Blaire has proven a wonderful role model for... how you say... not letting your head get too big? She is internationally known, and still comes to join us for dinners and the like." Not that Marie cares much for the idea of being rich and famous; she doesn't. She's almost certainly going to seek out a pseudonym if she ever got about to releasing music professionally; she'd just like to know that people like something she created.

"I've seen this happen before. For me, it was the Hermit who haunted my readings, telling me that I needed to remain in isolation." She bows her head slightly. "I lost... everything, Monsieur Franklin. My friends. My education. My beloved. Everything that mattered to me." A wrinkle of her nose. "I lived in isolation as the cards commanded... until one day my drawings changed. Now?" she smiles, "I have everything I lost, and more. If you were reading privately, without seeking another to impart their energy into the cards, they speak to you. They warn you of chaos to come. Your job is not to bring order to it; chaos is the decision which fate has made. You are being told to prepare so that you can endure the coming storm."

She doesn't reach out to take the deck, she holds her hands out for Franklin to place them in her own. "I am fate's servant, Monsieur Franklin. Nothing can happen to me that she does not will, and I accept her will wholeheartedly." There's a cursory shuffling, no less than three cuts, and she turns the top card to reveal...

The Four of Wands.

"They speak warning to you, Monsieur Franklin." she tells the boy, tapping her fingers against the drawn card. "To me? They remind me that I have a date tonight." Her cheeks redden a bit at the statement, but the smile on her lips is undeniable.
Franklin Richards Franklin nods, and was also rich so knew what she ment. His inventions, and apps had made him quite a bit of money not to mention family money which was way deeper. "And you get used to it... The first time I was invited here I was so nervious." he thinks back a little and smiles as he was much younger, and grins to himself. "There is always a bigger fish." he nods, as he isn't totally stealing that from Star Wars... Sometimes those Jedi folk had it right they just didn't know it so what could he say.

With a nod he listens to her, and her story. It sounded familer, so he smiled just a bit.

"Well I will be honest with you Miss.." he looks around a little. "I can see the future, I know things that have not happened yet as it shows in my dreams." he looks at the cards and sighs a bit. "It can be a hard lesson to learn that fate will just happen. but what you speak of it makes more and more sense."

Franklin turns, and picks up a sugar cookie, and takes a bite taking out the top of the four and that she got one herself does make him chuckle. Though he stops as he thinks for a moment "So how mad would this Fate be if someone did.... change it?" he says a bit lightly. He holds up his hand, and adds quickly, "It was a long time ago, and only happened once."

He stops and looks at the cards, "When I was a boy, I will not say who, but one of the family was fated to... well.. perish." he sighs, and shrugs. "I knew it was supposed to happen, they were supposed to pass as the future had shown, but I did not let Fate have its way." he looks up at her, "Fate hasn't tried again for a while now I think it got the point, but since then I have not tried to get in the way of fate again."

He looks at the cards, "Maybe I pissed them off, but you speak of a date do you want to go somewhere nice? One call and I can get you both into just about any restraunt in New York, and there are a few good ones."
Marie-Ange Colbert "When I was invited here, I could barely contain my excitement." Marie admits; of course, hers isn't the average tale. She came from a place that hated her for her very existance; mutant, magic, everything about her. The redhead's choice of a woman for romantic companionship almost certainly would've made the nuns and other girls at the convent scorn her all the more. "...but I understand, oui."

When he talks about seeing the future, "Oui, I knew." He'd mentioned it vaguely once! "Many do not understand... that the choices we make are free will, oui, but have all been mapped out in advance. This very conversation, even." she admits, offering the deck back to Franklin, once the four is replaced within it. "Well. I should say... do not understand... or simply do not accept it."

Then there's the talk about /changing/ fate, and Marie's eyes go wide. A look to her left. A look to her right. She continues in hushed tones, "Fate should not be questioned, Monsieur Franklin. Her will is such for a reason. That being said..." she trails off for a moment, frowning. "...I, too, know of an instance when Fate was changed. I should not be in America to this day, Monsieur Franklin; I was meant to return to my home country after graduation." she admits, taking another bite of sugar cookie; to hear /this/ coming from the seer? It's practically sacriledge. "My best friend, Jennifer... she was a student here, too. She controlled fortune itself; another of the primal forces that rule the world. She... decided that I was not to go." Jen needed Marie, and Marie desperately wanted to stay.

Marie closes her eyes here, though. "As luck would have it... my visa was able to be renewed, and my stay in America extended. Things were most grand." She pauses. "Jennifer... is the one part of my life before the Hermit's curse that has not returned to me. I have no idea where she is, if she is well, or even lives. Fate works as fate wills, Monsieur Franklin. You may have forced her to change her mind... but she has eternity to strike back."

Then, raising her voice a little, there's a smile and a shake of her head to the offer. "Non, merci. Perhaps when a special occasion comes around, though, I shall request you make that call. Anniversary... next Valentine's Day... something else entirely. We enjoy one another's company, wherever we spend it."

Truthfully, her employment at the Hellfire Club can open a few doors for her, as well.
Franklin Richards Franklin nods, "I would imagine our view of what this school ment was very different at the begining." to him it was the exact oposite going from a safe place with a family that cared, to be left behind in a wierd place with people that had all kinds of powers. Though it worked out as they were not bad people. but they were strangers then, and that made him worry. So he just nods, as understanding was most likely the closest one could get. Though the though made him chuckle.

He nods to her, "To change fate, to make that deviation is no small feat." he thinks about when he did it, "The reality we are on has diversions into other simular, but not same realities." he tries to explain.

"Your Fate or what you know of it is what makes this reality, it is the core mater of it, and changing from that path leads to creation of different realities." he nods to her, "Such as there is an Earth out there right now that you returned, and it is going as we are going just with that small deviation, and it is truely endless." he frowns a bit, "Normally when we change our own fate that... us.. is shoved into a different reality, though we would never know since the shift is so perfectly done." he stops to take in a breath as this is a long explination.

He slowly continues after thinking a bit, "When I changed fate it tried to do that to me, but I put myself back into this reality." he explains, "So Fate did not get its way, and because what I set was always so there was no deviations caused at the time.. Or no other realities based on that choice at least." he looks at her as one that could see the line in reality itself he was trying to explain how he saw it. How it works behind the curtain a little bit so she would know exactly what he ment on changing fate.

"Though I am glad you stayed as I have someone who understands this stuff, and though I may not be a friend, I at least look well upon your words so I hope at least associate?" and chuckles a bit then looks at her, "Yea, and about the date thing.. I am sorry I didn't mean to impose anything on you. Lets just say I am rather rich, and after not spending it for a long time it stacks up. So I try to help out those who help me as it is my way to give back to the system." and chuckles with a hand raised up, "Though I forget this can seem like I am entering myself into the situation.. Please know that wasn't my intention."
Marie-Ange Colbert "I see. If reality itself comes apart at the seems when fate is forced to change..." Marie trails off for a few moments, letting everything sink in. Maybe she deserved the punishment she got. She certainly does miss Jenny, though. The blonde was far from everyone's favorite cup of tea, but she was a good friend to Marie, at least.

"That..." Marie frowns a bit. Did Franklin just suggest that he /unmade/ a reality by forcing himself back into this one? The redhead's not entirely sure. Possibly prevented it from being created in the first place by refusing to go. It's hard to say for sure, but the power level he's talking about...

...well. She tends to take people at their word. So it's... a lot.
"I consider you a friend, Monsieur Franklin." she adds, "...and I am willing to speak of these subjects whenever you wish. Not everyone can handle such topics, and I can understand that." Jenny certainly never wanted to. She wanted to be as far from said topics as she could be! The apology gets a laugh, and another shake of her head. "You imposed nothing, Monsieur. You made a kind offer. I fully intend to accept this offer, but when the time is right; you may be wealthy, but neither myself or my Mary can afford the Ritz-Carlton on a nightly basis, so I would rather save such a thing for a special occasion, oui?" she offers, giggling. No harm, no foul.
Franklin Richards Franklin thinks about it, "Maybe that is why they look at fate as a lady, as it gives birth to the multiple realities that exist?" and he chuckles a bit at that as in a way it was kind of true. He nods to her as she put it in a way that made him consider something new. "And don't worry I am not going around messing with dimensions, and fate as I have been told to not do it from my family even if it is something like that again." he smiles a bit, "Though I have been tempted." though no he knew small changes was the best he could do now without shaking reality to a point where it might tear.

He nods to her and smiles at being called a friend as it was really only his second friend well third though he didn't know if Pryde still counted. He sighs a bit though as he takes back his cards, "And thank you for the information, I am sure it is fate telling me that I should stay away from Tarot" he grins a bit, "Though I am sure we will talk again... Call it a hunch." though a black cloud appears behind him starting as a small circle it extends out to a a circle large enough for him to walk through the other side the baxtor building rooftop shown. Franklin was changing reality to fold space though he was looking at her.

"I thank you for understanding, I am not usually around... others.. so sometimes I can open my big mouth, and insert foot." and chuckles a bit again. Turning he waves back as he walks through the cloud itself. "Let me know.. YOu have one IOU... use it well." and chuckles as the cloud shrinks again after he moved through it getting smaller, and smaller till it poofed out of existance the connection there no longer.
