Owner Pose
Talia al Ghul It's one of the small safehouses that she's setup for herself along Gotham. Some weapons, some first aid supplies, money, a few fake ID's.. Enough to lay low for awhile and get out of town quickly and easily if she needs it. Just run in, grab things, run out. They were meant to be quick stops and disposable. This one was in an old tenement building. The rent was paid on time, the local gangs were paid off to not mess with the building, and it was just one more shithole in a city filled with them. On this day, Talia is going to take out some freshly 'acquired' ID's and a stack of foreign currencies to put in one of her kits. There's nothing personable about the room. Foldout murphy bed, cheap plastic furniture, microwave that doesn't work, mini-fridge.
Ra's al Ghul The door opens.

Talia can find what she's looking for. The bags of weapons, of money, first aid supplies...

And her father.

The noble-looking gentleman was wearing a long coat, a dark green vest underneath, a white shirt, black slacks, and dress shoes. He seems to have a saucer with a teacup on top of it, his hand surrounding the handle of the cup as he brings it to his lips.

A slow sip, before he sets it back down.

"Daughter."

Green eyes settle on her then, setting his cup down, gesturin to the seat in front of him. "It's good to see you again."
Talia al Ghul As soon as she opens the door, even as her eyes go to look about the room to do her instinctive sweeping of the shadows.. There he is.

"Father. What has brought you here?" If Ras is here then there are other members of the League nearby. No chance to make a break for it. Was he aware that she had met with Nyssa? That her sister was in town?

She would lower the blade that she had with her and put it on a small table.

"I wasn't expecting company or I'd have prepared something. Do forgive me for my lack of proper ceremony in having something available."
Ra's al Ghul "Don't be. You're seeped in the corruption, knee-deep in a city that has known such terrors for a long time...even with the presence of the Detective."

Batman. Ra's honored Batman with the title of Detective and typically refers to him as such, rarely calling him by his superhero alias. He remains seated, and no doubt he came with a small army. For where Ra's is?

His followers are never far. It could've been the gentlemen talking outside. The woman who gave Talia her coffee. The taxi man waiting for a customer.

Everywhere.

"Is it so wrong that I should have a wish to visit my daughter?" He asks her, a subtle thing.

"Of course, I have a mind to visit your sister as well, even in her rebellion. Though you would know more about that than I, certainly." A not-so-subtle confirmation that he's /quite/ aware of their opening of the channels again.
Talia al Ghul Talia al Ghul would go to take a seat over on the plastic chair that she had furnished the apartment with. Ras between her and the window, if he had anyone in the hallways they would block the door. There would be no making a break for it. She keeps herself calm and turns her attention to her father.

"No, I'm merely surprised. You don't honor me over with your presence often." This was part of the sabre rattling. Saying and not-saying. "I don't think that she would necessarily be as enthusiastic about encountering you, you may wish to reconsider." She had thought herself just a little space between him and the world..

And she had gotten a harsh reminder that she was never free.
Ra's al Ghul Freedom?

She always had freedom.

But it comes at a price. Ra's has always been open to things that Talia can and would do. But she was a carefully trained weapon, a carefully trained individual. One that does not escape so easily. The sabre rattling. The subtle tells? They reach Ra's's ears like the wind in a storm.

Always covering. Always changing.

He chuckles a moment. "No, I do not. Something I regret. Nyssa has always been....spirited. No doubt, she will attempt to kill me. Perhaps she may even succeed." He stays seated, not risin quite yet. "Tell me of your recent happenings, Talia. I would know of it."
Talia al Ghul What was the discussion she had with Nyssa? Costs. What price was she willing to pay? What would it take? How far would she go? How much room will she give herself to maneuver? Has she been allowed to flee or is there always some greater scheme at mind?

And she keeps her expression flat as he speaks of Nyssa. And she goes to ever so lightly counter, "Perhaps. But she's also an unknown. Her methods and insturments have deviated." She might surprise him. Or she might not. But the fact that Talia was jibing that he might -not- be fully aware of what her half-sister could do..

"I have been tending to affairs in Gotham. Quite pedestrian. The Detective has very chivalrously given me a room at his estate that I have taken up his offer on. I keep to my own devices, as does he and his cadre."
Ra's al Ghul Costs.

Consequences.

Sisters always had each other's backs, even when they didn't like each other.

...Even when Ra's would pit them against each other for training purposes. He takes a long deep breath, shaking his head. "So I see. She's always been an...issue, at times. Always free-spoken. Always looking to rise into her own strength. I'm proud of her, in a way. Hers is the only organization that rivals the League of Shadows that I've seen since the Court of Owls."

Not a whispered word is spoken.

"Has he? Hm...and yet, you have nothing to report. I see your affections for the Detective has endured. Tell me, how is my grandson?"
Talia al Ghul And on that Talia shrugs, "Well, she does not know what she has done to earn your banishment. I am not sure she particularly cares at this point." The exact story behind the.. Hatred, if that was the term between Nyssa and Ras was beyond her exact knowledge. "I don't think I'll have the opportunity to pass your words along to her." Or that Nyssa might take them as a compliment either.

On Damian? That she has a more up front response on. "Very well. Better than he ever was in my care. He's in a much better environment and has grown much." Now she has a backbone.
Ra's al Ghul "Good."

What? Ra's seems pleased. "The trials and tribulations change from circumstance to circumstance. He's become his own person and in time, may yet inherit the Demon's Head...yet, I imagine, like his father before him, he will turn it down." Ra's suggests then. "Ibn-al Xuffasch. A name chosen well." Ra's starts to chuckle, remebering Damian fondly.

Yet, now he stands up to his feet.

"A test."

Because there's always a plan. "Nyssa has always done well with following orders, even if she has needled in the face of the challenge at times with her demeanor. So far...she's passing with flying colors." He nod at her. "I don't expect you to."
Talia al Ghul There's actually a show of emotion on Talia's face before it's quickly buried. But the emotion is rage, cleanly visible before being pressed down. "He will choose his own path, /Father/. And woe behold us to presume that we can influence him on it." Talia is as close as she can to defiance. If only in a small way.

The commentary over Nyssa gives her several needed seconds for Talia to compose herself once more and for her to solidify her breathing. It goes slow and steady once more. "So, father, are you here for some greater.. Project in mind than merely checking in on family?"
Ra's al Ghul Ra's meets Talia's eyes, unbending and unyielding in the face of a mother's wrath. Her protectiveness over Damian is admirable. "Perhaps he will. The boy is strong-willed like his father. Yet, he knows where a home is, should he ever wish to return." Ra's suggests to her, meeting her.

"I have missed seeing this fire in you, daughter. It suits you well."

Ra's seemed unflappable. He hears that she asks her question, whether he's here for a greater project or just for checking in. He looks at her and he offers her only the smallest of smiles.

His purposes unknown.

"You should trust what I say. I have done many things, Talia. Lying to you was not one of them." He's always told her the truth...even when he's bended it for his own ends.
Talia al Ghul There is rage in her eyes rapidly clamped down by obedience, conditioning.. And most of all terror. Of a twisted sort in knowing that what Ras always says to her is truth. In it's own form, but always truth. Always twisted. But never an outright lie.

she keeps herself still, fingers twitching just a few moments over in her chair as she controls her breathing. "I trust you to tell me what you think best serves things, Father." The sentence coming out slowly and her forcing herself to speak it in a confident manner.
Ra's al Ghul Ra's knows how to exert his influence without even really doing anything.

Sometimes all you need is a little focused violence and a mile-long stare. To peer into the soul of someone else. He watches her for a long moment, taking notice of her fingers twitching. A terror in her body that Ra's has always brought out of her.

The only man to do so.

"A trust that's well-placed." He reaches out to put a hand on her shoulder. "Damian is safe."
