Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie has the day off for a change, no work or school to keep him busy. So what does he do with his day, hang around the mansion and veg a bit. He has watched a movie a bit earlier, and now is the time for something else. So he is racking the pool table to get the balls lined up for a bit of practice.
Warren Worthington Warren Worthington got up from his laptop and a pile of papers he'd used to mess up the small desk in the corner. He'd returned after the attack on the school, seeming to have gone off to make his billions and leave the hero world and the X-men behind. After the attack he'd returned to spend his money on fixing the school with a sort of 'sorry I abandoned you' vibe, the Angel was penitent. He was wearing a strange outfit today. A beautiful pair of black slacks from one of his twenty thousand dollar suits, one of Kitty's t-shirts which was comically small on him and had a vague hit of boob swells in the fabric, and an old timey green visor used by accountants in the old days.

Warren rose to join Cannonball in the game, his effortless way of moving and inspired looks always drew lots of looks and attention. In this moment he shuffled the wings on his back, adjusting the feathers as if with unseen hands, a couple students silently tapping each other and pointing.

"Sammy! Wrack em up!" as i they were old pals, as if they did this sort of thing all the time. His approach was made awkward by his palpable survivor syndrome and feelings of guilt, but he was trying.
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie looks over to the other man and raises a brow for a moment, but shrugs "Sure, you want to break or should Ah?" He asks the man as he sets the table for 8 ball. He stands back up, and moves to get a cue from the wall. The two men might be mistaken for brothers if someone did not know them, but no Sam's winged brother has red wings.
Warren Worthington Warren Worthington seemed to think it over, he grabbed a stick off the rack and posed with it; he looked like a magazine cover. "I'll be honest, I dont think I've ever played this game before; you better start. I'm sure I'll pick it up." he offered, communicating trust and assurance more competently than most with his posture alone.
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie 's brow raises a bit more, knowing how much Scott has played the game, he figures the blonde man has to be joshing him. He will move to the end of the table, and says "Well once you break and one of us gets a ball in the pocket, will determine who gets solids and stripes." He makes his shot and a ball does go it, but not the best layout from it "Well looks like I got solids."
Warren Worthington Warren Worthington says, "Then I have stripes." replied Warren cooly, is if he was set to master the game right before Sam's very eyes. He began lining up a shot despite Sam's turn not being over. "This is where I say something like, 'its simple Geometry Boyo' and then I sink like 18 shots in a row and we roll the credits.""
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie looks over to him and says "Well waiting till it is your turn to shoot would help." He says with a grin. Maybe he aint faking it. "As you said shots in a row, till a shot is missed. Plus there are only 15 balls in the game. Well 16 if you count the cue ball." He adds.
Warren Worthington Warren Worthington smirked, clearly embarrassed. "How can you do me like this, after all we've been through." his eyes dimmed with amusement as he stepped back from the table and posed with his arms resting on the que. "Fiiiine. Just tell me when I get to go."
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie nods his head and will make a couple shots, but after two more are hit in, he misses one. "Ah had to learn a bit about bouncing off things, as with me it is either fly through them or bounce off and keep on blasting." He tells the other man. when he misses he motions to the table. "Your shot, you want something to drink?" He asks heading to the nearby minibar.
Warren Worthington Warren Worthington says, "Well, since we're playing pool. Like MEN. I'll have a beer." he said, smiling brightly as if he'd made a joke, or worse yet meme-d. "Thanks. By the by, what do you prefer I call you in school?" he wondered, if he knew he wasn't letting on. "Also who are you dating?""
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie looks over and says "Sam will do, and right now, aint seeing anyone." He tells the man as he moves to get the drink. It is known around school Sam aint really since anyone since his engagement was broken off, but Warren has been out of the loop, so it is understandable he does not know it. Sam will pour two beers from the tap, and brings them over. The beers seem well pours a little head at the top but not to much.
Warren Worthington Warren Worthington studied the man long enough to gain some measure of empathy; read the room, and read the man and the subtext of his response on some level. He grunted his understanding "Ah." and then gratefully accepted the drink and clinked it to Sam's "Cheers, to better prospects."
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie nods and takes a sip of his own beer, and then sets it on the table. He watches the other man as he lines up his shot and says "What about you, prefer Warren or Angle? " HE asks showing he has matured some as back when he first got here it was always Mr. Worthington.
Warren Worthington Warren Worthington says, "Warren is fine." he shuffled his wings again, refitting them behind him, an unconscious rifle that was some sort of response to his hero name. The usual suspects over by the TV gawked again briefly, Angel was not even close to Alpha status here but there was a running fantasy about his feathers on naked skin that was pervasive and combined with the novelty of his return. He was an exceptional looking man, an epicene pulchritude, but he lacked the rugged and dangerous appeal of a Logan or Piotr, so his fans where happy to observe from a distance for the most part.

"Sam, where you here for the attack?" he wondered."
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie shakes his head and says "Na, AH was at work in the city. Ah was walking a beat in Bushwick when it happened. When Ah heard it was pretty much all over." He admits to the other. And Sam may have been able to make it here in time if he knew it was happening.
Warren Worthington Warren Worthington admitted easily, "I feel pretty rotten that I wasnt here for it, not gonna lie." but he didnt know how to follow that up, it was too true to be qualified, maybe too true to be said aloud but he had. "You wanna talk about whatever happened with your girl? Don't have to."
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie shrugs a bit and says "She had to head back to Italy to take care of her Grandparents. She was able to come back for a while, but then they needed her again. Ah would have went with her but she needed the time to take care of them." He offers in explanation (her player dropped the OC)
Warren Worthington Warren Worthington says, "There are less noble reasons to get dumped." he said, re-assuring. "You didn't cheat on her, betray some secret she told you. Some things just don't work out." he wasn't telling Sam what he already knew, he was identifying with it. "She might come back, I've had an on again off again thing for years. Sometimes that's the shape of the apple, and you can bite it or pass on it I guess. Happiness, for me, comes in short arcs separated by long lines of work.""
Sam Guthrie Sam Guthrie nods, a bit and says "Yea, Ah have had one girl who have dated off and on a bit. Then of course one of my Exs is here at the school, but that is to be expected considering we met here." He says "And Ah think it aint going to happen with Alexis, but ya never know."
Warren Worthington With the connection being made between the two men, it was now time for life to intrude. Students grabbed things and prepped for their next class and filed out of the room. In turn, men with clipboards assailed Warren now, interrupting the game and stealing his attention. Warren wasn't an engineer, or a security specialist. He was a billionaire, which means he signed checks. "Ok ok, I got it. I got it." he said under duress about some payment being late and the vendor being upset. It wasn't the money, it was that the contractors didn't feel the way he did about the school, about the way Sam felt about the school; but they needed the help all the same because Xaviors school was sanctuary, and home, and necessary for this small but important community.
