Owner Pose
Bruce Wayne The Catwoman had let Batman and the rest of his team know about Hellcat. A newcomer to Gotham, working her own investigation. Colorful, skilled, potentially capable. But an outsider nonetheless.

Tracking her down had taken some time. An algorithm designed by Oracle correlated street camera footage from throughout the city, intersecting back and forth. Catwoman's initial contact gave a good starting point, a grid of operations. Now to find out what she was up to.

He finds her atop a rooftop, observing something. Casing. Watching. He makes no sound with his arrival, not even the telltale swoosh of his trademark cape. Like all those trained in the art of ninjitsu, Batman can move with an eerie silence.

"Welcome to Gotham," he says in his harsh rasp from behind her, cape draped over his shoulders, the grey of his costume broken by the massive black bat across his broad chest. "Now - who the hell are you?"
Patsy Walker She'd been waiting for this moment, going through it in her head. How would he arrive? And when? What would he say first?

Ever since speaking with Catwoman following the attempt to send word along to Batman that she was coming over to Gotham City related to a case of some kind, Hellcat knew this was coming. She'd heard about how the Batman was, whether true or exaggerated.

When the moment comes, she's set up across from a brownstone that's evidently being used as a front for some drug deals. People come and go. A few pause in the shadows. Exchanges are made. Groups meet up and part, some on foot, some not.

To her credit, she doesn't jump when his voice registers. She's in full costume, golden yellow suit, dark blue or black gloves and 'socks,' fingers and toes revealing claws built in. Then there's the sash at the waist and, last but not least, the cowl. Very Batman-like, only with a feline bent to it. Lots of red hair spilling out in back.

"'Welcome to Gotham?' I'd have lost that bet. Not what I figured you'd start in with. I was thinking more 'Who are you and what are you doing in my city?' but I already tried to tell you. Partial credit?" As she turns toward him, there's a smile on her lips. "The name's Hellcat. Pleased to meet you. I was wondering when you'd show up." Hands rest at her hips. She probably knows better than to just offer one such that it could be grabbed for a throw or something.
Bruce Wayne "Hellcat. Indicative of a fiery disposition. We already have a Catwoman. I understand the two of you already met."

He keeps himselef still, almost uncannily so, only a hint of wind moving the scalloped edges of his black cape. "She seems to think you're onf ot he good guys. I'll decide that for myself. What's your busineess here, Hellcat?"

He steps forward then, moving forward and then past her to the edge of the building, looking down on the building across the way. "Following a trail? Wouldn't that make you more of a hellhound than a hellcat?"
Patsy Walker The breeze catches the sash before it makes any of Batman's cape move. It gives the visual of a sort of tail, different from a costumed - or real - one. "Oh, yeah. Well, you could say that. There's a different reason behind the name, too. Maybe I'll share it with you sometime," Hellcat remarks, crossing her arms.

"Yes, I'm sure she keeps you on your toes. Don't worry. I don't have any plans to move here, and we didn't have a catfight," the costumed cat reveals, lifting a brow behind her own mask before she takes a step closer to the edge as well. "He's got jokes, too. I think you have a future in improv if you work at it."

Studying the interactions below, she withdraws a small recorder and speaks into it. "Looks like six feet even, about 185, dark complexion, bald head with a scar in the right place. Might be the one." She makes a visible show of stopping the recording before putting the device away. See, Batman is safe.

"Got a lawyer friend who asked me to see if I could find some info to help a client of hers being held for a drug charge. It's not that he's innocent, but he says he was forced into doing it. I'm trying to find the big players. Might be able to get him a lesser sentence or time served if he turns state's in exchange."
Bruce Wayne Bruce Wayne watches the comings and goings closely. Looking for familiar face. The underworld of Gotham is ever-churning, its own biome of scum and villainy. Many of the same faces show up repetitively, going from boss to boss, psycho to psycho, villain to villain. Made men would stick to their godfather, of course, even if the Godfather happened to be a psychotic clown or a gnarled gangster in a tuxedo. His helmet gives him temperature analysis and, if needed, can be flicked to thermal mode to see who's moving around inside.

>"Forxed? Forced how? Blackmail? Threats? Mind control?" he asks.

"Tell me about the man you're looking for."
Patsy Walker Baldy McBalderson with the scar heads around a corner, and Hellcat looks back to Batman before nodding her head in that direction. She's moving. Will he follow?

Operating on the assumption he will, she explains, "Little of this, little of that. He's got an addiction, but once he stepped into the trap that was all it took. Now they've threatened his family. They think he's out of town for a few days with an emergency, but they don't know he got busted yet. Once they find out, he's worried about them going after his wife and kids. They don't know he's been doing work for them."

As for them, she goes over what she remembers, adding, "I think it's going through one of the Mexican cartels. I hear they have ties to some of the crime families over here. He said the guy down there was his supplier. For all I know, he goes through a couple of contacts too."

As she moves from building to building to keep an eye on the man, the Caped Crusader can see what Catwoman shared. She's gifted at the whole rooftop traversal thing.
Bruce Wayne Bruce Wayne moves with alacrity, coming in Hellcat's wake with a swiftness. He lets her lead the way because she's the one who knows who she's looking for - and because he wants to see how she operates. He's always evaluating, measuring. Not that he ever lets his judgments show. Batman's one fo the original stoics - he has pokerface for days.

"Mexican cartels make sense. We've had an influx of Spanish-speaking gangs. Last week, I captured a Spanish killer for hire by the name of Flamingo. He wouldn't talk, of course, and he's clearly psychotic. They've already shipped him to Arkham. Apparently he's some sort of cannibal. He was last known to be in the employ of a cartel operating through Ciudad Juarez to funnel drugs and weapons through Texas. I suppose it was only a matter of time before the pipeline found its way here."

Gotham is grounod zero for almost anythign criminal. Corruption always runs through the easiest channels, which means it usually found its level in Gotham, where almost everyone has a price. Everyone except Jim Gordon.

And the Batman.

"Has his family been protected? Or are they relying on you to stop them?" he asks.

The man they trail stops and takes a phone call, arguign angrily to someone in Spanish.

"Can you read lips?"
Patsy Walker "How charming," Hellcat deadpans, after being told of the story of Flamingo. "Seems a little weird to me that with someone like you around, they all still think they can get away with this stuff here. Maybe they figure with enough of it, you and all the little birdies won't be able to keep up with everyone. Dangerous set of dice to roll every day. Imagine if this guy knew we were watching him right now."

Sure, the fact so many people can be bought or paid off has to factor in.

She says, "I've suggested the cover of taking a vacation until we figure out how to play this, but they won't understand why he can't be with them. For now, they're counting on me. I spent part of last night watching their place. Didn't see any strange activity so far." She's got a bit of the detective in her. Certainly not unwilling to put in the late hours it often requires.

A glance toward Batman follows. "My Spanish isn't the best, but I'm pretty sure I heard 'Penitente' in there. That's one of the cartels." She crouches, as if to lean closer, as if an extra few inches will make the listening easier from a few stories up.
Bruce Wayne Batman's Spanish is excellent, "He's expecting a shipment this weekend. He's being told to get more pimps and pushers out on the streets to try to move the product. Punisher eradicated one of their operations and they're trying to make up for the lost profit. Breathing down his neck. Good."

"IF that's what they figured, they figured wrong. Time to take out the trash," he says. "You want to find out what he knows? Let's ask him."

His hand rises up and he fires a grappling line to the roof of the building across the way. "Stay here or follow. Doesn't matter to me," he says and then begins to swing across the way, heading bootfirst for the window in with Mr. Guerrero is currently having his conversation.
Patsy Walker Hellcat takes the information in with a quiet nod. She's already starting to crack her knuckles by the time Batman makes the offer. "Your city, your dance to lead. I was hoping you'd ask. Let's cause a little trouble for them." If it throws the cartel and the gangs into some turmoil, that ought to buy time for the guy in custody, buy time for his family as well.

Utilizing her cable-claw, her own form of a grappling line, a burst of compressed gas sends it across the street to the same building, and by the time Batman's broken through the window to make his entrance, she follows as the line retreats into its spool.

Upon landing, she takes up a crouch to his side, playing up the feline aspect of her appearance with one hand against the floor for show. "Hey, you. Got a little time to chat?"
Bruce Wayne Batman crashes through the window and flicks his wrist as he comes through. The bolo cables he flings wrap around the man, entangling him.

"Yours to interrogate," he says. he picks up the dropped phone and rapidly barks into it in Spanish.

<<This is Batman. Stay out of my city. Gotham is protected," he says

The commotion has drawn attention and there's a cacophany of sound as various minions and thugs rush to the aid of their current employer.

"Interrogate him at will. I'm going to crack skulls," he says, punching intoh is palm and stepping into the next room, ducking a chair leg and throwing a palmfirst strike into a thug's chin, knocking him back into the wall before taking the man behind him with a smooth straight thrust kick.
Patsy Walker "Yeah, well, give me a shout if you need a hand," Hellcat says. "Or if you get bored and want to watch another cat in action."

Meanwhile, she takes Mr. Guerrero by the collar with both hands and begins to extract some information from him that will help her friend's client, without mentioning him by name. There are some things to keep protected and private.

Amid the mixture of groans, cries, and shouts from Batman's room, Mr. Guerrero's join in whenever he resists too much.
Bruce Wayne The violence in the other room is rather sudden and vicious. Hellcat will hear bones breaking auditly. There is a scream, suddenly cut off and then a crash of glass. Two gunshots, again stifled with a scuffle, followed by the thud of a body hitting hte wall.

Guerrero's eyes are wide as he hears those sounds, only to have Hellcat's own tormenets visited upon him, his lip soon bleeding and his face scratched hard enough to scar.

There's a hiss of a gas grenade and smoke billows on the other side of the doorframe until Batman's silhouette returns, backlit from streetlight pouring in from outside.

"Has he talked? Or does he need some more?"
Patsy Walker Hellcat's not above leaving a scratch or two, where warranted. Most of the noises from the other room don't sound at all like they're coming from Batman, just caused by him.

She's not breaking bones, not this time, but only because her methods of persuasion are working to her satisfaction. She may have also offered to let him talk to Batman instead. That got him chatty in a hurry.

Along the way, a picture falls off the wall and shatters when hitting the floor. That coincided with a particularly heavy thump in the next room.

When Batman returns, he can see Guerrero's coat has a few more holes in it and she's trailing a claw along a fresh mark at the man's cheek. "Oh, I got a few things that should be useful. He's given me a few locations, including this weekend's. Doesn't know everything - he's not /that/ high up the ladder - but enough if you want to get your friends together. I think I have enough to go back to my pal with."

A gesture toward some of that smoke curling into the room. "Am I gonna need a mask for that?"
Bruce Wayne "I broke the window. Plenty of ventilation."

He moves over to pick up Guerrero's cellphone off the floor where he dropped it. He hits redial and waits calmly until the druglord on the other end answers. "Hola. Soy Batman."

He then proceeds to deliver a rather wicked tirade in Spanish, making it entirely clear what will happen if the cartel doesn't stay out of his city once and for all. Then he casually pockets the phone for further tracing later.

Sirens blare in the distance and he tosses Hellcat a pair of batcuffs, "Truss him up. We're done here."
Patsy Walker Hellcat gives the man a golf clap at his words over the phone, flashing him a double thumbs-up along with mouthing, 'well done!' when she's certain he's looking her way.

She catches the set of cuffs and goes about it with Guerrero, glancing toward said broken window as sirens draw closer.

"Before I head back to NYC, can I just say it has been an honor and a pleasure seeing and hearing you in action? Not to go all fangirl on you, but something like this was on my bucket list. 'Help Batman catch some fools,'" she grins, covering enough smiling for both of them. It's not that she doesn't feel how intimidating and fearsome he can be, there's just something about her that isn't as quick to show it as others are. Plus, she's enjoying herself and she knows she's quite capable, herself.

Exiting the same way they'd entered, she makes her way toward the rooftop on the other side again after offering, "If you want to reach me for any follow-up, I can give you some additional info. She-Hulk and I, we work together on some things."
