Owner Pose
Peter Parker He thought that at some point, he might grow tired of it. The feel of the cool air running through the breatheable costume as he swung from building to building. The sense of power as his fist connected with the jaw of an evildoer. The awareness of what was going on around him. It was new to him, but surely that sense of wonder would wear off. After all, this was only intended to be a brief foray, learn what the Spider was like, figure out how to defeat him. Achieve ultimate triumph.

But the power was just too much. He told her that, and she seemed to cautiously understand. The ritual could be sustained, and although it meant that his own body was slowly starting to wither, muscles atrophying as they were not taxed...that only mattered if he went back. And why would he go back? What could he stand to gain?

He swings up high, well above the nearest pinnacle, twisting and then driving down to land in an easy stance on a streetlamp after taking a brief acrobatic spin around a flag pole.

Why would anyone give this up?
Gwen Stacy Calypso's words had been a warning. How long will it all last? And is this true defeating Spider-Man? Yet power can be intoxicating as Kraven already knew, and is experiencing now. It's something both Peter and Gwen had went through. That intoxication of being able to do what they wanted, using these powers without the responsibility needed. They had both learned through personal sacrifice and loss.

For with great power comes great responsibility.

It's why Gwen is out here tonight. She knew something was wrong with Peter. Mind control? A clone? Somehow she felt this was the -real- one even if he felt alien. Sometimes almost as if he didn't know her. But she had a responsibility to stop him. No matter what.

A trap had been set. Very thin strands of web throughout the city, high enough that only a Spider would 'ping' them. All connected to her.

She feels one of them vibrate. Not far from here. And she swings up towards the area, nearing where she felt the disturbance.
Peter Parker Watching the city scroll along below him - the Spider's city, really - he thinks about how much they revere the Spider. Some, at least. He certainly has his critics. But for the most part, he is loved and respected. But how much more can he be loved and respected if he made a bigger difference?

He shifts a bit, stretching out that lithe form. Now that he had had some practice, he was thinking it was time to take on bigger prey. He could challenge some of the bigger villains, of course, but he could mop the floor with some of the gangs of regular humans. Maybe it was time for the Spider to begin pruning his city of trouble. And he could start with...

That girl. He looks up as he senses her approach, or maybe he sees the motion out of the corner of his eye. He launches himself up from the streetlamp and lands on a large water tower, turning his gaze towards her. They tussled a bit the last time. And here she is again. He thought he had been rid of her when they "broke up". But clearly, she was a bit more persistent. Maybe he would need to do something about her, once and for all.
Gwen Stacy The slender silhouette is visible landing atop one of the nearby buildings, across from the water tower. Black and white on pink rims revealing it to be Ghost Spider. She is staring across towards Spider-Man's perch. Watching. Waiting. Perhaps for the man to make the first move?

Or testing to see what he will do?

Regardless there is a tension in the air that feels different from last times. Something that Kraven knows all too well. That feeling preceding violence.

Ghost Spider's fingertips are softly drumming on the side of her leg to some kind of rhythm, she finally speaking up. "You know why I am here."
Peter Parker He can tell. She is here for a fight. There is no dancing around it anymore. He feels his muscles tense. He will let her come to him. Telegraph her moves. She is more familiar with how she moves than he is, so he would rather react than expose himself.

Still, he has learned something from watching the Spider. His enemies tend to perform more poorly when they are angry.

"Because you can't take the hint."
Gwen Stacy "I have always been stubborn like that."

Ghost Spider brushes off the taunt, feet bringing her close to the edge of that building. "Now how about you tell me what's going on?" some frustration slipping into her voice. It's true she wasn't sure what happened to Peter and that was eating away at her.

She doesn't wait for an answer though and the next moment there's a web shot towards that large water tower and Ghost Spider is swinging over at high speed, feet first towards Spider-Man!
Peter Parker "So it would seem."

He watches the girl rising. He knows an attack is coming. What can he do to get her as off-balanced as possible? He can hear that frustration. "I grew up, and realized I needed more than a _girl_ like you could offer me."

And then she is swinging at him. Maybe that will throw her off. Maybe not. Either way, it's time to fight, and he is not sure if both of them could end up swinging away from this one. He twists to the side as he sees her coming, hoping to avoid her feet and grab them with a quick flash of his hands as she moves into the spot where he just was.

But she seems to have the same sense that he does, so will this work? Hard to say.
Gwen Stacy Girl, eh?

Maybe it's time Ghost Spider shows him a thing or two about who the girl is. Maybe that's why when she comes on swinging she extends herself a bit too much, slender body going past Peter's when he twists himself out of the way, and making herself vulnerable to that grab. One of her feet is caught but it doesn't mean she is at his mercy for with that momentum she uses her speed to continue turning while kicking -hard- at his arm. Enough for her to be free and land on the side of the water tower.

Eyes narrow under the mask, "Do you really think you are stronger than me?" now she's the one taunting.
Peter Parker He was not expecting that. Nor would he, of course. Ghost Spider has not had to pull out all the stops or maximize her abilities in their previous tangles. But now? Now it is clear that, for whatever reason, they are enemies.

Did he hold back a bit while watching that comely form come at him? Maybe. But that cannot last.

"I _know_ I am stronger than you," he replies, tensed up and waiting for her to come at him again. "If you're asking me to prove it, then I'm going to have some fun with it."
Gwen Stacy Could Ghost Spider take on Spider-Man in a straight fight? The truth is they had never tried so. Specially not when they aren't holding back. But could Gwen truly not hold back? Perhaps that's the advantage Spider-Kraven has over her. He can go all out.

Gwen can't afford to.

She knows it though, but she still plays the part. "Then let's dance." and she launches herself forward at him.

A graceful overhead kick aimed at the man. She knows it won't hit, but she is ready because she is already moving to dodge the next blow as their spider senses flare to life and warn them of incoming danger.

The kind of fight where they both can see five steps ahead of what is going to happen before it does.
Peter Parker There is no intention to hold back. This is the one person most able to expose him. Who seems to clearly know he is a fraud. And the one person standing in the way of him and a lifetime in the Spider's body. Which, might be considerable. How does the Spider age? He seems to just be a child, and yet he has been fighting criminals for years.

All of this passes through quickly as the nimble Ghost Spider launches at him. "We already did that, a few times, if I recall," he says as he dodges the kick, and watches her already dodging his follow-up blow. This is going to be trickier than he though. Time to fight dirty.

"Why do you think I sought out a new dance partner? Your moves got stale."
Gwen Stacy "Urgh, are those the best insults you got..?" The follow-up strike is dodged and then they take to the skies, webs tossed and pulled as they work to get each other off-balance over the top of buildings and all around them.

"Because those are some of the most boring comebacks I have heard in a while..." this while her body is flipping over itself in the air to dodge a kick to the head. She can feel the -power- of the swing behind it though. Truly not holding back.

"You always had a bit of a heavy foot." she says of the missed kick. Or is it of his dancing? Maybe both!
Peter Parker There is just a grunt in response to Gwen's critique of his humor, and then the Spider is tangled up with her. A strange tactic, he thinks, since her advantage seems to be agility while his is strength. He gives up on trying to out manuever her and just reaches to try to his hands around her throat as they close in tightly.

"What can I say, you have not inspired me in quite some time. As you said, you are just stubborn and don't want to accept it."
Gwen Stacy Normally Gwen wouldn't allow herself to get so close. But she is committed to this mission. Is it to catch him though? Or ..., just get close enough?

They move and swing and as Gwen lands on a wall of a building instead of moving away she jumps straight -forward-. Right towards Peter and those arms trying to grab at her, having to fight the danger sense screaming at her to move out of the way.

Just a little closer.
Peter Parker It is a perplexing move on the girl's part, but maybe she thinks she can outmanuever him. The Spider is ready, though, and sees her coming. As she is a tangle of limbs coming at him, his arms navigate that sea and strike out at her. He tries to grab her by the throat with one hand, swinging a fist at the side of her side with the other. If either of them connect, it could be trouble.

He knows he is exposing all of the rest of him to her, but he is banking on delivering a more powerful attack to her than whatever she intends to do to him.
Gwen Stacy Gwen gets close enough. But at what price?

It's a choice she has to take in the nick of a second but whatever strike she might had been aiming to deliver at Spider-Kraven doesn't come to fruition for there's no way out from one of either a punch or getting grabbed.

The punch hits her squarely on the side of the face, making her head spin to the side and her whole body jerk.

And then she is free falling down to the ground from the top of that building.
Peter Parker There is a certain satisfaction that the Spider feels at hearing the smack of his fist against Ghost Spider, and then watching her tumble down to her fate. He is tempted to pursue, but then he spots a flashing of lights down below pulling up on the scene. Onlookers will be here shortly. This is not a fight that he wishes to have publicized.

He fires off a strand of webbing and swings away before any can see him. Maybe the Ghost Spider has been dispatched. Maybe not. Either way, he has sent his message. He doubts she will come chasing him any time soon.

Besides, he has bigger foes to fight...
Gwen Stacy The Ghost Spider quickly gets out of sight after that punch, nearing the ground at a speed. Though is she truly out? Spider-Kraven doesn't get to see her landing inside a trash bin with quite the ruckus.

Nor does he get to see her slowly come out from it, holding a small device in hand.

A small beep tells her the tracker she got on the Spider is moving.

"Gotcha."
