Bart Allen	Bart Allen has been talking about the zoo and some of the new animals they have gotten recently. So tonight when he is the main one on the schedule he asked if Emiko wanted a tour around the Zoo. Yea they maybe a few others in the Zoo, but Bart knows their normal patrols and such, and with as much as he gets done over night the zoo's crew (not captain carrot's crew) have decided to leave him be and let him do what he does most nights.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen liked the idea of seeing the animals when there wasn't dozens of other people around to make them on edge. Once Bart ensured her it wouldn't get him into too much trouble she agreed. "If you do need me to disappear just give a sign." She can use her assassin stealth skills if need be.
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods his head a bit to this and Bart is wearing his work clothes this evening, brown hiking boots, a pair of kaki cargo shorts, with a matching shirt that says "Gotham Zoo." on it, and a baseball cap in the same color and logo scheme. He says "We should be good, I know when Fred checks specific areas, Fred is the main security guard. We sometimes have more, but usually only when we are keeping some animals that belong to which ever villain thought having an animal side kick was cool this week.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen makes a bit of a face at that. "Not as cool and intimidating as they think it is.... but considering how many supervillians have animal themes, I guess it shouldn't be a surprise."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods, and says "Yea, I honestly don't think it is to intimidate, well maybe Lou and Bud were, but they are sweet, and since Harley's been on the good side, she has custody of them." He smiles and says "So, what would you like to see first?"
Emiko Queen	"People are hoping a similar reform story can be made of Jinx." Emiko makes a fancy wave forward with one arm. "Give me the tour as you would. The zoo as a whole is an experience to see after all."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods his head and says "I think there is hope for her, but then again I may have an inside line, or at least make people think I do." He offers with a smile and takes her arm "Well lets start with the big cats." He tells her leading her over to where they are kept "Some roam a bit more at night, but others we can see from the back halls."
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen hooks her arm in his to be led along. "Makes sense. Many big cats are from regions that are cooler at night than day. Not so much for them, but for when their prey comes out."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods his head and will take her along, and at one point he smiles and says "Looks like we timed this pretty well." He says and leads her into the back halls, at the back of one of the cat exhibits "Sheba is going to be giving birth soon, so she has been getting special treats, and it is about time for one." He leads her back to an area where there is a female panther that looks like it could give birth any day "You want to feed her?"
Emiko Queen	"If it's not anything too complicated to do so," Emiko replies, then turns to look into the exhibit area where the panthress is. "How often is it for animals to actually breed in captivity like this?", she asks, genuinely curious.
Bart Allen	Bart Allen will move to get a plate of steak and says "With her in there is is pretty much just slide in here and let her have it." He shows her where and how to do it. "It is getting better than it used to be, good and bad both is the fact some animals we are getting more in captivity than in the wild. While in the wild you do get them breeding more often, in captivity when they do the survival rate is much better.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen nods as she takes the plate. "Explains why many conservation programs have efforts to 'rewild' some animals. Still, this helps with keeping a population, reintroduction can come later." She nudges the slot open with one hand so she can slide the plate of steak into the enclosure. "Dinner time~"
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods and watches as the panther comes over and does look Emiko over for a moment, but the food has her attention more as she starts to tear into it. "And then you have places like ours where there are some animals we maybe able to breed, that while they would not make it in the wild, their kids might."
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen nods her head. "I think a lot of people don't realize the zoo does more than just put animals you normally wouldn't get to see on display." She offers her arm again. "So what's next?"
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods and takes her arm and says "Well we can see some of the bats, but as odd as it sounds most of them are sleeping now." He waits for the odd look "They have a completely enclosed home, and they have got them so they think it is dark during the day so people can see them better."
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen ooohs. "That actually makes a bit of sense. To get them active at the time people would be able to see. Must of taken a good bit of... uh..." She has to think for a moment. "Training isn't the right word. Conditioning?"
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods a bit and say s"Pretty much yea, but we can see a few we are working on getting to the right internal clock." He takes her into the room where in the main area yes most are sleeping and you can look up and over to see them "A big draw here with Batman and all.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen chuckles a bit as she looks around the enclosure. "To be fair, even sleeping it's an interesting sight. With the whole hanging upside down thing." She glances back to him with a smirk. "Don't look nearly as dark and brooding as the man, though. They're actually kind of cute... at least from a distance."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods a bit and says "They have started talking about getting a new part for some more foreign bats like the Flying Foxes, Hammerhead bat, and others." He will then lead her into the back after a bit and there are some bats flying and some bugs being released into the enclosure in like 15-30 minute intervals. "There was talk of putting a song bird exhibit with robins in it next door as well.
Emiko Queen	"... Those sound more like fantasy creatures. Zoologists must have a weird sense of humor when it comes to names." Emiko snickers about about the bird exhibit idea. "Themeing. What works works to get interest. Hopefully with less... disasters than Batman got some of his Robins by."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods a bit and says "If they do, I am thinking we should probably get Tim or one of the others to cut the ribbon as a Wayne, and a special bit for others." He says to her with a grin. He says "Give me a second." And with that he will end up moving to clean the bat cages a bit, at speed.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen laughs softly. "It'll be the biggest inside joke in Gotham, with how many people wouldn't actually get the connection." She takes a few steps back, just to give Bart the room to work. Not that any chore ever takes him long, it's just safer to give a speedster their space when you can.
Bart Allen	Bart Allen smiles a bit as he finishes and is washing up at the sink when he is back to normal speed. "One thing I find handy I don't get as stinky when I am doing that at speed.'
Emiko Queen	"Don't tell that to the Bat clan or they might want you to clean their secret cave," Emiko replies with a chuckle. It makes sense though. Less exposure time, less smelliness. "So what's next?"
Bart Allen	Bart Allen looks to her, and says "Well we can hit the petting zoo area most of them will be asleep but they are still really cute." He admits, as he takes her to another building. he does avoid one area as he says "Security should be over there"
Emiko Queen	"All the more reason to go the other way," Emiko replies, whispering merely for atmospheric effect. Not that they were talking very loud in the first place. "Sleeping cute is still cute."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods, and leads her inside, and these they can walk amongst. Some of them do wake up and come looking for food.. Bart will point to a container and says "There is food in there if you want to feed some of the small herbivores." He offers as he starts to clean some of the beddings.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen scoops a handful of feed out of the container. "Guess some of them got curious." She holds the handful out gently for those interested, gives a few pets to the ones that allow it. And now Bart can at least clean the areas of the ones that got up to investigate her.
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods, and says "I don't know if they are just light sleepers or figured out I am a soft touch." He offers with a chuckle. "Know Jeoffry knows I am a soft touch, and Phoebe is even more so."
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen gives out a few more pets, then lets the critters return to sleep once Bart is done tidying up their spaces. Smirks a bit. "Maybe a little, but it's also part of what makes you endearing."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen smiles and will walk over to give her a hug and holds her close for a moment, and then says "And now for this." He does speed them out to one of the exhibits where the larger heard animals are, where they can see some of them from within about shouting distance.
Emiko Queen	It's a hug, and Emiko hugs back. But it's also her getting a good grip with it as she's learned to recognize when Bart is about to do his thing. And sure enough she's right as he speeds them off to the larger exhibit. Which brings one thing to mind as she's set back on her feet. "I'd ask if you ever raced the cheetahs but that's probably a bad idea. You'd probably give them an existential crisis."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen chuckles a bit and says "The team did have to rescues some cubs a while back someone tried to kidnap them, and the guys saved the day. They made shirts with the JLA on them, I made a few ones modified with the team on them.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen opens her mouth as if to ask something, then stops herself before ever getting into a 'why would anyone do that?' Because she already remembered the main reasons -- money and prestige. Much like the villains keeping exotic animal pets earlier. Instead she just gives a shake of her head. "Some people are just so callous."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods his head a bit to this and says "Luckily we have some good people that will watch after things and try to help people like that Red Arrow girl, she is my favorite of the arrows.
Emiko Queen	"She is pretty cool. But they have some pretty cool speed demons too." Emiko replies with a wink. That's one way to compliment people without naming names. "But this place wouldn't be possible without the crew looking after it, don't forget about them."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen chuckles a bit and says "True, they are some great people who work here, they have helped teach me a lot." He grins and will take her next by the food area grabbing a few apples and then to the giraffes "Ready to feed Jeoffry?"
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen takes an apple. Then looks to the giraffes. Then looks to Bart. "Why Jeoffry? Other than it does vagely sound like 'giraffe'..."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen says, "I think they were wanting to be close but not quite the same thing as the toys are us mascot. " He tells her "Other than that I aint sure." He says and the Giraffe seeing them will come over and bring his head down to them and sniffs Emiko and brushes against Bart. Jeoffry is maybe a year old or so now."
Emiko Queen	".... Oh, so this is like the animal version of being named after someone famous." Emiko gets it. Or at least gets the idea. Being raised in an reclusive assassin cult means she didn't get a lot of normal childhood experiences like 'Toys'R'Us'. But it's not a matter worth dwelling on. She just holds up her own apple to offer it.
Bart Allen	Bart Allen watches as the giraffe will come in and is careful as it takes the apple munching it and then leans back down to give Emiko a nuzzle.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen aaaws and gives the giraffe a gentle pat on the cheek. "I swear, animals are a lot nicer than many of the people I've had to deal with."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods his head a bit to this and says "Yea they can be." He will spend a bit of time here, it is obvious this is one of Bart favorites. He will zoom off for a moment and comes back with a basket a couple more apples, but also some people food and drinks.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen raises a brow when Bart zooms off to return with a basket of snacks. "Now I'm starting to wonder how long you'd been planning before asking me to visit." She takes another apple to offer to Geoffery, then a drink for herself. "Not that I'm complaining, seeing the back side of things here is pretty interesting."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods a bit to this and says "Well, I have thought about it, but then again, you gotta remember a minute of planning for me, is a bit more than others." He teases a bit and gets a drink for himself as well.
Emiko Queen	"Fair point. Regardless, it's an evening well spent, between the animals and you." Emiko holds up her drink. "Cheers?"
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods and lightly taps her drink with his and says "So, what have you been up to lately?" He asks, after getting them each a folding chair.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen laughs softly. "Picinic in the zoo after hours, I love it." She sits in one chair, grabbing a snack from the basket to go with her drink. "Just the typical stuff really. Ollie is checking on his pet project in New York so I've had to keep an eye on things closer to home."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods his head a bit to this. "Well you know if ya need me I am here." He offers and says "I spent some time at the tower recently, think Jinx maybe getting the idea we actually are trying to help her, and hoping for the best for her."
Emiko Queen	"Same. But hey, if Quinn can work towards reforming. If certain assassins can learn to have reasonably normal lives. Anything is possible." Emiko pauses in the deeper ponderings to munch on snacks a bit.
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods a bit and says "Yea, but I think the Assassin redemption path maybe with the outsiders, rather than the Titans." He jokes about how many ex assassins they have about
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen chuckles softly. "Seems that way." We won't go into how many similarities can be drawn between herself and Damian. It's kind of eerie if you think too much about it.
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods a bit and says "But be what may I think we got good people in both teams." He tells her. He finds a sandwich and starts to eat it. "So what are ya thinking about?" He asks noticing the thoughtful look.
Emiko Queen	"Oh. Just the mention of teams," Emiko replies between snackings. "The Young Avengers are trying to find their footing in matters as well. It's nice to have the backing of both the Titans and the Avengers, but they'll need to find their own identity too."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen 's brow raises a bit and says "I have not checked them out, who all is on that team?" He will ask her honestly interested.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen goes down a short list of people from the get-together they had the other day to get more aquainted with each other. "Pretty varied lot by the look of it," she finishes with. "Means it will take some pretty skilled strategists to apply so many different abilities."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen hmms and nods a bit "No speedsters I know, I might talk to Irie and see if she is interested in checking it out, might be good for her to be the primary speedster on a team." He hmms in thought. Seems Bart has not heard of Tommy.
Emiko Queen	"Exposure to others is probably good for her either way," Emiko nods. "And even if there is other people with speed powers, it's not like all of you have just speed and that's it. If everyone with the same abilities did things the exact same way it'd make having me and Kate on the same teams really redundant."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods a bit and says "True, I was mainly thinking with the Titans, she has me and her dad about. On some missions she is the main one but not thinking about having us about maybe good. Should I have her talk to you and Kate?
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen puts her empty drink bottle back in the basket so they don't leave any unusual trash in the crew areas of the zoo. "That's a good point, Bart. Even if she isn't the only speedster, it could be a chance for her to not feel like she's in your guys' shadows. Not that either of you treat her like that, but that doesn't mean the feeling doesn't come up."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods, and says "I have had the outsiders for that, and Wally has been the main Flash often since Grandpa was busy but now he is back, which I still need to get you to meet him, and maybe us go to dinner with Joan and Jay some sunday evening.
Emiko Queen	"And she'd still have other people to keep an eye on her, just in case." Emiko snickers a little as other relatives are mentioned again. "Your family is almost as screwy as mine, just from the different time frames instead."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen looks over and says "Well, Grandpa is mid 30s or so, and the Wally is my cousin and Irie's dad. Jay and Joan are no blood kin to me but they are like grandparents I actually lived with for a while. And then there is Max, he was sorta like a dad to me. Honestly closest I have had to a dad. Max, Irie and I are the only ones that are time displaced. Well and my other Grandpa, but no family dinners with him."
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen says, "I'm not going to try and make sense of the time back-and-forth but I wouldn't be opposed to meeting more of your family, blood or otherwise.""
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods his head a bit to this and says "Well, I will gladly set it up Joan has been asking me about it for a while. Well was before ya left, she has seemed to want to since I told them you were back, but has been a bit hesitant it seems
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen mmhmms. "I can understand. But I shouldn't have to go off like that for a long while." A pause. Then a smirk that might be a bit too sinister. "I scared enough Yakuza last time."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods a bit and says "Next time I will get my ninja outfit and follow, be your silent shadow." He strikes a movie martial arts pose.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen laughs. "But that's enough 'business' talk. Let's just enjoy the night with the animals."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods, and moves to sit his chair a bit closer to her, and puts an arm around here "I will see if I can get permission to bring ya in during the day and see some stuff, might be able to pull some strings with you being one of the names on the shelter.
Emiko Queen	Emiko Queen leans into the arm. "There's that, that would probably help."
Bart Allen	Bart Allen nods his head a bit and grins at her "That way you could get to see the day time ones as well. Any you would like to see more of tonight?"
