Peter Parker It had been a tense few hours at first, but between Peter's inherent healing ability and a quick visit from the Night Nurse, he was out of the woods before the night was over. That did not mean that he regained consciousness, and despite the Night Nurse's promises as she slipped away, Peter had not woken up that night.

Or the following day.

Kraven was most certainly no longer in him, but the question remained whether Peter was still in his body. Or if he was simply still trying to get used to puppeting his own form. It had been a long time without having that control. Had Peter forgotten how to ... Peter?
Gwen Stacy It was all a daze. For all that Gwen thought could had happened to Peter this wasn't it. From what she was figuring out their minds had been exchanged. Peter's to Kraven. And Kraven's to Peter. And now here he was, unconscious still even if his body had long healed the bullet with it's accelerated healing process. So why wasn't Peter waking up?

Gwen had brought him over to her place. Their place. Set him on the bed and then had waited..

Worrying.

The night had gone by and now it was day, the first light of dawn coming through the windows. Gwen's exhaustion had eventually won and she had fallen asleep, head atop the blankets covering Peter's legs. One hand curled around his, blonde hair a mess.
Peter Parker It felt like he had been battling the fog. Of course, he had some experience with that, courtesy of a certain Fishbowl. But this was different. Every part of him moved sluggishly, and as he made his way towards what he thought was the exit, he found that it was now behind him.

His mind struggles with a brief glimpse he had had of reality. He remembers hearing Gwen's voice, pleading with him to wake up. He remembers the fog spreading from his fingers, and he remembers opening his eyes. It still felt like he was seeing himself from outside his body. And he was. He was standing there, and he was...he was hurting Gwen. He hadn't known why. It didn't make any sense. He had forced himself to come to her help. He was not even sure how. He just knew he didn't want the last thing Gwen to see was anger on his face. Never anger.

The rest was hazy, just as hazy as the world he was still in now. He felt pain radiating throughout his body from his chest. He was not sure why, that was the first time he had felt pain in the eternity of time he had spent in the fog.

Finally, he sees something different. A faint glow, off to the side. He pushes through the fog, like grasping at jello, but slowly, ever so slowly, that faint glow grew larger. Warmer. And for the first time, he smelled something. A familiar smell. Gwen's shampoo. He's close!

With the last bit of will, he makes his leaden legs run. He is not worried about what might be in the fog, just what is on the other side. Who is on the other side. He had to get to her. He had to get to...

"Gwen," comes out something like a croak, as the legs beneath Gwen's head begin to stir.
Gwen Stacy The call to her name comes suddenly. A surprise? Not particularly. Yet something Gwen didn't know she had missed for so long, that reaching out for her name that only Peter is able to do. And no matter what happened in the last few weeks there is one thing she is certain of right now.

This is -her- Peter.

Eyes open up, big blue eyes as she lifts her head from the blankets, the side of it red and with markings that are telling she most likely spent the night sleeping in that position.

"Peter.." She whispers quietly, squeezing his hand gently, "You are okay. You are home now." she tells him, biting on her lower lip. Stress that had been accumulating while she was waiting for Peter to recover come to the fore, tears forming in her eyes.
Peter Parker It takes a few moments for Peter to become more aware of what is going on. At least the basics. He knows he is in their bed. He knows Gwen is there. And he can feel his body, familiar to him. Beyond that?

"Hey," he says, voice a bit less croaky now that the initial silence was broken. "It's ok." He gives her a hand a squeeze and moves his other over to try to reassure her. He can tell she is upset - stressed. And he needs to help with that. Regardless of what is going on with him. "Everything will be fine."

He does not actually know that. Or know what happened. But one way or another, he will find a way to make it fine.
Gwen Stacy "Shhhh..." Gwen sounds worried, stressed but there's also a kidness to her gaze, a relief that Peter just woke up. Familiar fingertips press to his lips and she rests her forehead against his shoulder a few moments in silence.

Everything will be fine.

Those words ring deep within. She believes him, no matter how hurt and confused she is right now about all that had happened. A moment she was being choked out and the other Peter was being shot.

"All will be fine." she murmurs, then repeats, "You are home now." pressing his hand up to her chest.
Peter Parker "That's good. I like our home." The voice is still a bit shallow, scratchy from lack of use, and his breathing is not as deep as it should be. But it's still Peter's voice nonetheless, and perhaps more importantly, Peter's intonation and cadence.

"Should I ask what happened?" He reaches over with his hand to run it against Gwen's arm as he lets his eyes fall closed again to relax. Or try to.
Gwen Stacy What happened, indeed. There's some hesitation out of Gwen. Perhaps unsure if to bring it up just yet. Trying to protect Peter? Or herself?

"I ..." A pause, "A plot by Kraven and Calypso from what we gathered.." she finally says, "Captured you and .., used some dark magics. I don't understand all of it but ..., they changed your minds Peter." she brings her head back up to look directly at Peter now. "Yours and Kraven's. A body switch."

"Kraven was running around as Spider-Man while you ...." she looks down briefly. " .. I believe you were stuck inside Kraven's body, dormant.."

She doesn't bring up all the mayhem that Kraven most likely did as Peter. He'd see it soon enough in the newspapers. Yet there's pain in her gaze.
Peter Parker "Oh." is all Peter says at first. He takes this in, processes it. He had always known what would happen if someone without great responsibility had access to his great powers. And now, he hears, one of this biggest enemies did. What could a sociopath like Kraven do with it? He shudders even to think about it.

"People have believed horrible things about me before. But at least this way, Jonah didn't get any photos he could use." He reaches up, towards his neck, as if to finger the necklace he had gotten to share with Gwen. Maybe the camera she gave him triggered the memory. Maybe he just wanted some consolation. Its absence sends a shiver of cold down his body.

"I hope he didn't do anything horrible to you while he was in control."
Gwen Stacy There is no pendant on his neck yet when he looks up to it at the absence from his neck it can be seen on Gwen's. With the purple heart clustered in. Gwen notes that reaching for it, eyes widening just so and she reaches to her own neck, undoing the silver chain.

"I kept it for when you ..., returned." Did she know Peter had his mind switched though? It doesn't seem like it. How had she come to have both pieces then?

"Don't worry about it.." she says in that dismissive manner of hers when she wants to change the subject. It's not something she seems ready to broach yet. Nor does she seem to want to put that on Peter's shoulders just yet. But there's certainly something there. " ... just rest." she takes the purple heart from the spider and then places the spider on his hand.

"We will figure things out as we go. That's what we do."
Peter Parker The fact that Gwen has his piece is not lost on him, nor the implications. "I'm sorry for whatever he did to you as me," he says, reaching up to brush his hand against the side of her cheek. He opens his mouth to add to it, but when she tells him not to worry...far be it for him to deny her that request.

He nods. "That is what we do. On the fly, usually." He manages a bit of a smile, sighing softly. "Thanks, Gwen. I'm really lucky to have you."
