Sara Pezzini Working in a specific field for the NYPD gave Sara a lot of extra time due to the simple fact that not every day was an alien invasion or attacks by magical creatures. Training her officers was how she usually spent the extra time, but today a packet from SHIELD arrived, so it meant coffee at Fred's.

Sitting in one of the booths that faces the door, she had already ordered herself coffee and a piece of pie. The many armed waitress had delivered everything at once with a smile and was now chatting with another customer at the counter. Sara and her NYPD team had become familiar faces here now.
Sybil Tan     Sybil was incognito today, at least so far as the Kestrel armor was nowhere to be seen. It was in fact in the trunk of the government sedan that pulled into the parking lot, which was about as far as she usually got from it. She didn't even want to think of the extradimensional tech she'd need to try and recreate if it went missing.

Stepping out of the car she closed the door and armed the alarm and countermeasures system, pocketed the keys in her jacket pocket and headed into the diner. With a quick scan over the people inside, she made her way over to Sara and sat down.

"Good afternoon Sara, how are things going with the NYPD?" Spotting the packet, she adds "I see you already know the reason I came looking for you today."
Sara Pezzini A smile touches Sara's lips as Sybil enters the cafe, and she gestures to the booth bench across from her as the woman approached. She had in fact been expecting a visit, which is why she had informed her assistant at the precinct that she was going for coffee, just in case Sybil went looking for her there.

"Slowly," she admits bluntly before taking a small sip of her coffee and waving the waitress over. "Educating and training human police offers, as well as some who uh... aren't as human, at the same time, has it's challenges."

Laying her hand on the packet, that was in fact resealed, she nodded, "I was having coffee and this excellent blackberry pie, then I was going to text you," she then says with a chuckle. "You beat me to it."
Sybil Tan     She shrugs as she slides into the booth. "I can imagine. We have our share of unique individuals in SHIELD as well, as you well know. But then, we also have an entire training branch whose job it is to deal with it."

The waitress comes over and Sybil orders coffee and a slice of the blackberry pie after one glance at the slice Sara had. "That looks too good not to try" she explains to Sara as the waitress heads for the counter. She waits for her order to be delivered, filling the time with small talk. "Sounds like you've got a lot going on, heading a squad of your own as well as your work with SHIELD and the Avengers."

The waitress comes over to deliver Sybil's order. Taking a sip of black coffee and then a forkful of the pie, she mmms. "Oh, that is very, very good, I think I'll be swinging by here a bit more. I'll have to extend my exercise time a bit, but this is worth it."

Once the waitress leaves, Sybil taps the folder and says "I'm not entirely sure why Fury teamed us up. I'm quite certain however that it wasn't just 'They're both flying armored women.' He doesn't work that way. It's probably more a thought that between us we cover the spectrum of possible issues. You cover magic, I cover science. We both fly to reach or chase things easily. As for the rest, we should probably head somewhere a little less public before we start digging deeper into our abilities."
Sara Pezzini Sara grins as Sybil takes up the hint for the pie, and even goes for the same kind. "Fred makes the best pies, you are wise to try a slice, but yeah... I like to keep busy," she says before another sip of coffee. She had convinced Fred to change which type of coffee he used, it was a little more expensive for purchase, but he made that money back in people coming in just for coffee and pie.

She shared the small talk while the waitress was getting Sybil's order, taking another napkin from the holder to wipe a bit of pie from the corner of her mouth.

"I've never met Fury myself," she admits with a slight shrug. "I tend to just follow orders, unless it's magic related and the higher ups giving orders have no clue what they're doing."

Another bite of pie is taken because dayum it was good, then she continues, "Science, technology... both my weak spots. I understand how to use some of the SHIELD tech, and that's the end of my tech and science knowledge." She chuckles, before lowering her voice. "Most of the people here understand who I am, and what I do, but you're probably right that a less public place would be best. We could go to my office at the precinct, after we finish our pie of course."
Sybil Tan     "That would probably be for the best. But first I have to devour this pie, because it deserves my full attention. I'm now glad I can fly, as it makes trips here from the Triskelion much quicker."

Setting action to words, for the next couple of minutes conversation is put aside while the pie is neatly consumed. Once it's gone she sips her coffee, sighs happily and says "Ok, _now_ we can head over to your precinct. I'll get the tab, I owe you for introducing me to this place." She pulls out a card with the SHIELD logo on it and hands it to the waitress, adding a good tip.

"Ok, did you fly or drive here? My car is in the lot, so if you flew, you're welcome to ride over with me."
Sara Pezzini Finishing off the pie, Sara turns her attention to her coffee while making sure to keep her promise to members of her team and arranges for several pieces of pie to go. Returning without the pie, even as the head of the unit, would be an act of treason.

"I actually walked over," she finally answers Sybil. "So I'll take that ride."

With a paper bag filled with pie, Sara joins Sybil in her car. The drive from diner to precinct is a few blocks, with a some what empty parking lot for Sybil to leave her car in.

Inside there is no need for Sybil to show her ID, in fact the receptionist only glances up for a moment before turning her attention back to the computer. Apparently anyone who enters with Sara is considered an acceptable visitor. The detective pauses long enough to leave a piece of pie at the desk, collect a visitor badge then heads up to the second floor where her office is located.
Sybil Tan     After parking and making sure the car is locked and alarm armed, Sybil follows Sara into the station. She takes the visitor badge that Sara picked up for her and clasps it to the lapel of her blazer. Once they make it up to Sara's office, Sybil takes a seat in one of the chairs in front of the desk.

"Ok, now we can talk a bit more openly. If we're going to be partners, I think a fairly comprehensive description of what we can do is fairly important."

She sits back and crosses her legs, clad in a mid-range designer's pantsuit. "So as for me, obviously flight. I can also open portals to other dimensions, which I use quite a bit in combat. I can set it up where I fly into a portal and come out behind or under my opponent. I can also go the other way and put the opponent into another dimension, removing them from the fight. I actually know one where there's nothing but ground and air to breathe, which is most often where I send people, kind of like locking them up until I can deal with them after."

"Ok, your turn. I figure we should do a little back and forth instead of trying to list everything at once. And of course, ask any questions that come to mind."
Sara Pezzini On her way to her office, Sara pauses long enough to hand off the bag to another officer and say, "I keep my promises, please put that in the lunch room."

Once inside her office, door shut and the blind on the door window closed, she offers Sybil one of the more comfortable chairs by moving a box out of it, then sits herself behind the rather small desk. Leading a supernatural police unit was apparently not a high priority for funding, but she was making due.

Listening to Sybil explain at least part of what she was capable of doing, a single brow raised on the detective's face. That was a lot of 'no clue how it might work' aimed at her, but she was still attentive, even if Witchblade was already making the bold statement he was so much better than that.

"I'll openly admit that a great deal of that is beyond my context of understanding, but I've at least seen part of it in action. So, where I lack direct knowledge, I can make up with having experienced it." She offers the woman a grin, before sitting back and crossing one leg over the other.

"I'm not entirely certain how much detail you want, so I'll start with the obvious," she continues, resting her hands in her lap with the right hand on top. The bracelet that was Witchblade's resting form was visible, in fact she turned it a few times as she talked, a habit she developed upon joining with him.

"I wield the power of a magical entity called The Witchblade. He has numerous names, has been called hundreds of things, but that seems to be the one he prefers the most." She holds her wrist up to better show off the bracelet. "This is him, and yes he is fully capable of understanding everything you say. His soul and mine are joined... as for what I can do? Me personally, I'm a human being New York Detective. With him however, I become an armored warrior capable of using any form of melee weapon that is formed by the armor itself. I can fly, and I am very difficult to hurt."
Sybil Tan     Sybil nods, "Understanding how our abilities work isn't too important, thankfully so. It would probably take me several years to teach you dimensional physics enough to begin to understand how the armor works. Just like it would take years for me to learn enough about magic enough to understand Witchblade. For now, I think what we can do is much more important than how it works."

"I'm also just human without the armor, though I do hold black belts in Muay Thai and Judo. I've created a combat style based on Muay Thai for when I'm in the armor, because it has adamantium claws on the feet. The armor also has an energy cannon on the left gauntlet, and can seal completely in hostile environmental conditions. Can be handy, some of the dimensions I've been to don't have very pleasant atmospheres."

She pauses to think for a moment, "I can also use the plasma jets from the wings to burn enemies if I need to. I tried to build it with multiple ways to cause damage, since as you well know, there's a lot of people out there immune to one thing or another."
Sara Pezzini Sara nods profusely to the idea of it taking years to learn each other's specifics, partly because even though she has been Witchblade for nearly three years now there were still parts she didn't know on how he worked.

"I personally know Kendo and Judo, along with advanced marksmanship. Police academy and of course SHIELD training," she explains with a chuckle. "I know that Witchblade is capable of launching blasts of fire, but that particular skill is fairly new and one I'm still working on mastering with him."

She pauses for a moment, appearing to stare off into nothingness, in fact her eyes take on a glassiness before she shakes off and continues, "The other important thing to know is that Witchblade maintains my health and heals wounds I might sustain, but he can also heal the wounds of others, even fatal ones."
Sybil Tan     Sybil nods, "Guns are no mystery to me either, given my military service and SHIELD training. I'm actually an astronaut as well, and can fly just about anything I can get my hands on, from biplanes to spaceships. So travel is covered if we don't want to fly somewhere in our armor. I find it a bit more comfortable to fly in something for long trips, though the armor can do the job nicely. It doesn't have any sort of energy constraints due to the power source I have in it."

She chuckles, adding "You have no idea how badly Fury wants to rip that thing out and copy it. Probably the only thing keeping my armor in one piece is the fact that he doesn't have access to several of the components and materials it's made from. If he ever gets them, I'll build him a new one, but my baby stays in one piece."

"Oh, on a more personal note, the reason I used an avian motif for the armor is because Kestrel is my call sign from the military."
