Mania It's one of those themed nights at Purgatory. Goth Night. Shocking that Andi Benton might show up to that. Question is, to meet someone else? Just to people-watch? Or to simply get her mind off of other things going on lately?

Keeping toward one side of the main floor, there's been no shortage of amusement had toward some people's ideas of what 'goth' is. Does it make her an authority on it? No, but she's done the punk/goth motif for years now. Maybe she has a bit of an idea. She sips from a drink, non-alcoholic in here of course, eyes scrutinizing those before her.
Selene Gallio Goth night at Purgatory. Where better than for the Black Queen to stalk?

In keeping with the theme of the night, Selene has altered her attire at least slightly. She has foregone the cape, and rather than the tight leather top she typically wears it is a lush velvet corset, with boning shaping her already well crafted figure even further. Her legs are almost entirely bared by the trademark Hellfire Club thong, and rather than boots she has on a pair of long stilettos adding to her already impressive height.

Does that make her stand out in this crowd? Moreso even than usual. But a Queen must spend time among her subjects, and tonight is just about the right night for that. She moves among the press of flesh on the dance floor. Is she on the prowl? Probably.
Mania Although this part of the club is not directly tied to the more secretive areas, the potential for others to draw attention here, whether wanted or unwanted, exists. Those who know what the Hellfire Club is about have kept an eye on the club for various reasons.

Andi doesn't dance, whether by choice or a matter of being left alone by everyone else. There may be an aura about her that others steer clear of. An attitude, or a way about her, even just the way she seems to visually scoff at others.

For someone who notices things like this, Selene may not have much trouble picking people like that out of the masses, amid music, activity, and the various scents of the room.
Selene Gallio Certainly, someone who does not appear to be having fun in a place such as this WILL attract a certain measure of attention. And having done so, Selene studies the young woman for a few moments from within the depths of the dance floor. Deciding that, at the very least, as a host she should ensure that all of her guests are having a good time, Selene slips through the crowd and is birthed into an open area, to make her way over towards where Andi has holed up.
Mania Another sip from her cup, just a cola in it, and Andi turns to toss it into a nearby trash bin after finishing it off. Crossing her arms, a couple fingers drum against an arm to the beat, the song a familiar one to her. Deep bass beat, electronica, the sort of thing clubs like this play to get people moving.

Selene has an angle to approach without being obvious, should she take it.
Selene Gallio Indeed, Selene does, moving from behind Andi. Her gaze is intense, as she senses there is something familiar about her. But she cannot exactly tell what. And one thing Selene does not like is surprises.

She arcs away from a moment, after having come a bit closer to be able to discern ... something. Making a small divination with her magic, she grants herself the capability to perceive past illusion, and to see auras, wondering if perhaps that might offer some key. Once so armed, she drifts back over towards Andi's back, studying her as she goes.
Mania In this case, there is no particular aura that stands out, certainly nothing of a magical bent. Body language, size and shape..it might be a little familiar, but there are lots of people of Andi's general stature. There's the purple hair, a number of piercings - she rolls a tongue stud across her teeth briefly - and the preference for dark colors mixed with pinks and purples. Nothing quite like Selene's fashion choices, however.

<<Mania>> Andi, someone behind us.
<<Andi>> Hmm? Oh.

As if through a sixth sense, Andi turns at the 'warning' in time to spot Selene closing in, and there's an extra moment of staring that follows.
Selene Gallio Nothing out of the ordinary, which seems to puzzle Selene even more. But any ponderings come to an end as she draws up towards Andi to find her already turning around. Which is interesting, to say the least.

"Are you not finding the Hellfire Club suitably entertaining this evening?"
Mania "Ahh, just watching for now," Andi answers, left to look up a ways given the woman's tall stature.

<<Mania>> She is familiar.
<<Andi>> You remember her?
<<Mania>> We think so.

Shrugging a shoulder at something, Andi faces Selene more fully. "I don't really dance with strangers, and most of the people in here already look busy with others." As far as excuses go, it is an excuse. Maybe not much of one.
Selene Gallio Tapping a black lacquered nail against her chin, Selene studies Andi. "You do not dance with strangers, and yet lament that the people in here are busy. Did you not arrive with someone else?"
Mania Andi Benton's brows scrunch together. Selene seems to have caught her in a moment of conflict over the excuses given. "I saw it was a themed night, so I thought I'd see what it was all about. I just, uh, haven't found anyone to ask yet." She looks the taller woman up and down, noting the particular style of her attire. "Why, do you work here? Or are you just here like me?"
Selene Gallio "So it is not that you do not dance, nor that others are preoccupied, it is merely that you are as yet indecisive?" Selene asks with a tilt of her head. "Or merely disinterested at the available options?"

She seems not to mind Andi's gaze in the slightest. "I am the Queen of the Hellfire Club. I do not /work/, but I am your host, among others, of course."
Mania Andi Benton considers the way Selene puts it, nodding after a few seconds. "Yeah. Something like that. But I often just watch others, too. Be around things, and decide whether to get more involved or not," she explains. Then there's a sense of recognition. "You are? Something about you seemed familiar." Just what, she isn't quite ready to get into.
Selene Gallio "Ah, yes. Much to be gained from watching others," Selene murmurs, casting her gaze about the room. "One never knows what mysteries one can find lurking around the corner." She leans past Andi for a moment, reaching out towards the bar to retrieve a drink that was somehow prepared for her without any verbal command. "Yes. And I am sorry, but I am not sure when we have met. I rarely forget faces, and most assuredly would not have forgotten yours."
Mania Of the two, Andi has more reason to remember Selene than the other way around. The woman has a presence about her, a certain way, and it nudges at a sense of curiosity somewhere within. "Dangers, too. You probably have to be on the watch for trouble." She nods toward the bouncers, playing their own part in this.

"I..think your outfit looked like something I wouldn't forget," she adds, though she shakes her head. "But maybe not. Some people here dress very, well, particular." Selene is right that she hadn't seen Andi's face until now.
Selene Gallio "Oh, not really," replies Selene with a cavalier wave of her hand. "That's the King's job, not mine. And his staff." She looks to Andi, smiling. "He handles pain, I handle pleasure. Really, it is a great arrangement for me."

Glancing down at her outfit as if reminding her own self of what she was wearing, Selene laughs as she looks back to Andi. "This is hardly anything, my dear. Pick a night that is not a costume night, and you would find it even more unforgettable."
Mania If there's bait, Andi may be taking it. "Pleasure is better, I agree. And what do you mean, it would be more unforgettable?" Her own attire hits that goth/punk vibe solidly, but it's not the all-black the Queen has chosen to grace the room with. By now, a few other sets of eyes have gravitated toward her. Perhaps they wonder why Andi has the woman's attention, as a hand runs over her purple-tinted hair.

<<Mania>> We remember. She did that thing to that man in the alley. Near this place.
<<Andi>> Ohhh, yeah. And you were very interested in her.
Selene Gallio The feeling of eyes on her is not something that bothers Selene, but also not something that goes unnoticed. Her lips quirk and she leans forward, bringing black painted lips towards Andi's ear to answer the question. "That is something that I do not believe I could answer with mere words," she breathes out slowly.

A soft chuckle. "Certainly not with all of these people watching. I assume you are not fond of being stared at?"
Mania Andi Benton shifts positions, leaning closer to take in the whisper. It leads to a raised brow, but not a whole lot else yet. It's the second half of things she touches on first, the question. "There are times it's fine, but..that all depends on a lot of things." Sometimes Mania craves the attention, the admiration, even the fear. Messages can easily be sent with the appearance Mania gives off.

"Usually I like to stay in the background, but sometimes..sometimes not," she admits, beginning to look at Selene differently than before. This /is/ the same woman from outside the place sometime a year or so back, isn't it? But she did not see Andi. She saw Mania.
Selene Gallio Then there comes a question, posed to Andi's ear. "Well, determine which mood you are in tonight."

Selene turns her gaze back towards the dance floor, her lips moving from Andi's ear until they are nearly cheek to cheek.

"If you wish to /feel/, out there among the anonymous masses."

She straightens a bit, and turns back to meet Andi's gaze. "If you wish to /see/, that is something more for the shadows."

A pause. "Or I can take my leave of you, and let you resume your disinterested study of the other patrons."
Mania Which mood, indeed. Andi is hardly the most affectionate person out there. Those who know her well, those few she's let in that close in the first place, know her to be aloof, often standoffish, sarcastic. But, a lot of it is a cover for deeper emotions she keeps bottled up, tucked away. Act like you wouldn't make good company, and you tend not to attract it.

"We are familiar with the shadows. We are not afraid of them," she says, without realizing the verbal slip. 'We?'
Selene Gallio All of this is studied by Selene. She is more than just her magic, she is also a perceptive student of humanity. What it tells her? Right now, much to her consternation (not that she would show it) is very little.

She turns her head again, lips against Andi's ear breathing the words directly into her.

"Do you wish to see me, or feel me?"
Mania How did Andi end up facing that question, asked so closely as though it feels like it's coming from within her? This is the sort of thing Selene is skilled at when it comes to others, and it again tugs at a memory from some time back.

Brows furrow again to give off a sense of doubt or thoughtfulness, and whether there's an internal exchange taking place or not right now..Andi can feel the draw of temptation. "..see," she decides.
Selene Gallio With the question answered, Selene nods, her nose brushing against the crown of Andi's ear. "So it shall be. Come." She drifts away from Andi, back away from the bar and towards a corner where the shadows cling in spite of the lighting within.
Mania A pause, then steps follow. "I was going to ask where you get your stuff," Andi says, trying to sound conversational in light of the charged sense of things around her. The path is led toward a more dim area, where others won't overhear so easily.
Selene Gallio "Here," says Selene, from deep within the recesses of the darkness. Is it an answer to Andi's last question, or a command? Either way, the woman is gone, leaving behind only the pitch darkness of what Andi will realize is a tunnel once she gets close enough. But to where, and to what?
