Yukio Due to her connection with Wolverine, Yukio decided to come and visit his dojo in Salem, and due to her own nature, she made the trek by foot, not asking for rides or anything.

She shows up unassuming, just black leggings and a matching black sports top. She steps inside and immediately moves to the side along the wall, observing in silence. Only offering quick polite bows to any who notice her.
Jane Roe What gets a Hacker to Salem? Well, a job. Not even in Salem, but that cozy little town is on the way, And as Jane parked the rented SUV on the dojo's parking lot, she stretches. A Dojo in such a small town? Well, better than nothing to do a workout before getting further north to deal with a server full of photos of the bad kind. But that was for later. For now? She just popped the back open, grabbing a black dufflebag.

A couple minutes later, she did the formalities to pay for admission, changed clothing into a rather simple, black Karate Gi with no discernable belt. No, not a black one. No belt at all, the jacket instead held closed with a strap on one side. And a bag stuffed with training utensils, a Kama and tonfa sticking out halfway.
Yukio The black Karate gi stands out in a sea of white, so Yukio's attention naturally draws towards Jane, observing her in silence. She's clear not a member of the dojo, and only been permitted to witness training, the way she keeps to the side. The budo weapons peeking out of Jane's bag do get a closer study, this is not the normal gear you see about people in this country.
Jane Roe That both are guests, at best meant to witness, is clear. But Jane does observe classic etiquette, bowing towards the depth as she enters, even as she draws looks with not just the black gi, but also lacking a rank belt. Putting her bag down at the side of the room, she slips into seiza effortlessly, hands on the knees, her eyes closing a moment as she focusses. Waiting before being invited to training?

The bag holds half an arsenal of wooden training implements... colearly someone knows her Kobudo.
Yukio Yukio does steal several glances at the bag, and without making any approach, surmises what weapons she can, and gives Jane added consideration. She's not the kind of young woman she'd expect to know her way about kubodo, so that certainly sparks interest. She'll have to wait till after class for a chance to approach her.
Jane Roe At some point, the trainer allowed Jane to join the training. Not free fighting, that would be risky, as she wasn't coming with something to prove her training. But her movement is clearly too good for a beginner, mabye even more refined than some of the older students. But they also speak of a quite different training. More direct, less flourish, more on efficiency.

As the training ends, Jane does join the row of students to bow, but after that remains, canting the head to Yukio. "Are you pondering to learn?"
Yukio Yukio takes note of Jane during the training, and if anything, she already knows that an American dojo is not where Jane honed her skill. It is at the end of the session that she shyly approaches Jane, and offers her a bow, "your skill is very impressibe. Might I ask where you study martial arts?"
Jane Roe "Somewhere." Jane answers evasively after answering the bow, her hand makign a vague gesture. "I was told that my movements remind someone of Okinawa, but I can not remember ever having been there. However, recognizing that means... you do have some training yourself?"
Yukio Yukio offers a rather sly smile in turn, "I appreciate your response." Similarly to Jane's shrugging off of her own question, Yukio responds in a similar manner, "I've been watching movies, pow! Boom!" She offers a rather adorably exicted smile as she fake punches the air to illustrate with her silly cry. "It is very interesting to be off a place, and never having been there..." Yukio notes, before asking very briefly in Japanese, "<do you speak Japanese? Are you from Japan?>"
Jane Roe A moment the eyes furrow at the illustration, but as Yukio swaps to Japanese, Jane shrugs, but answers like someone that has spoken the language at a native level. Though... something about the way she forms sentences differs from standard Japanese What she says is <I do speak Japanese. I'm supposed to have been there> with a high probability, the okinawan dialect is different in that it actually is meant to say <Probably I have been there.> with a much lower certainty. But that's hard to spot on its own.

<Why do you wish to know this?>
Yukio "<Very interesting indeed,>" Yukio stays with Japanese as Jane is clearly fluent, and it makes it easier on herself, "<so you've been to Okinawa for sure, at some point, do you even remember the sea? It's odd for you to have no memories of it at all>".

Yukio covers her mouth as she giggles at the quesiton, and offers a quick apologetic bow, "<if it wasn't clear, I am from Japan, and I obviously don't have any friends from there, so it's exciting meeting someone like you.>"
Jane Roe <The only sea I can remember is that seen from the coast where the sun rises here.> Jane responds, bowing a little. <Your accent tells me you are from the mainland, so much I gather. Though...> A moment she seems to ponder something, something inside the bag of hers blinking as she accesses the device, running some search through a linguistic database as she appears ansent for a short moment. <I think it's a Kansai dialect. Inner Kansai even, but not Osaka. Not exactly Kyoto either, but... close?>
Yukio <Mmm...that is quite strange. Maybe you suffered a hit to the head that took away some of your memories?> Yukio tries to suggest a possibility, before nodding at JAne's suggestion, <that I am, not far off Kyoto in fact.> Of course when Jane runs her device, it does seem to confirm the location Yukio willingly offered 'close to Kyoto', <that's a fascinating device, how could it tell?>
Jane Roe The answer is a vague gesture. <Not too far from it, but I can't remember.>
As Yukio notices the little blink of LEDs in the bag, Jane shrugs. <It's just a network repeater. Keeps me sane. And Kansai has a very specific way to pronounce some things. Though, you made it easy: you used the kansai word for very, and how Osaka and Kyoto shall sound is like... you can listen to samples from like any anime.>
Yukio <That is true, each region has it's own dialect, it's only natural,> Yukio agreed with a bow of her head, quite surprised by how much the foreigner recognizes about Japan, particularly when she insists on never having been there. Odd indeed. Maybe she'll have to refer her to Elektra if she has a chance, she might know something.
Jane Roe Jane actuall never said she never had been there, only she can not remember - a fine distinction. <So you just eanted to watch training? I mean, you do seem curious enough that it might interest you just to watch. Or were you looking for something more?>
Yukio "<I was merely curious how martial arts training was conducted in this country, I never had a chance to visit a dojo yet, so it was a fun experience. You certainly seemed to surprise the instructors, they pulled you aside real quick...I take you've trained before?"
Jane Roe <Not in this dojo, but certainly. And not this style. I prefer... something in my hand.> She makes a gesture to her bag of tools, pretty much the whole Kobudo armory in a bag. <They only know their own Karate.>
Yukio <I was very impressed to see you carrying such distinct weapons on your person, clearly you've trained beyond what your years would suggest,> Yukio offers a subtle compliment. <Do you live around these parts or just found yourself in Salem by chance?>
Jane Roe <Just on the way through to get some job done. I have some time to kill, so I thought I take a peek myself.> Jane answers, the eyebrow raising at the call to distinct. <I'd think they are pretty standard among what some call peasent weapons.>
Yukio "<I have nothing but respect to kubudo and their wide range of uses,>" Yukio offers softly, before reaching to her side pocket to pull out her phone, "<would you mind exchanging contact? I would like to keep in touch with someone else I can speak Japanese to...I would treasure your acquaintence.>"
