Talia al Ghul It's the spin of the night, that moment on the pendulum where one tick turns to another tock, and the hour switches over. Outside, it's fog and torrent. Inside, there's the not quite as wretched hive of scum and villainy. In this case, Hive could be almost a literal thing as Swarm (the Nazi MADE OF BEES) is sitting over in a corner buzzing up a storm.
Talia Al Ghul has made it a point to sit well away from the dissassociative dimwit to the side. In another corner, there is Stegron arguing with a Dark Elf on something or other. Three men with boomerangs are playing a game of cards that mostly seems to be them stealing from one another as they shuffle the deck.
Near the dance stand, someone is setting up the chinese knock-off of the Living Brain to start on trivia night.
Talia Al Ghul goes to check her watch. "Nyssa, if you're not here shortly I'll cut you out of your skin, regrow it or not.."
Jinx The chair across from Talia is flipped around and Jinx sits down back to front. "Gross," is her comment on the plans Talia has for Nyssa. Whoever that is. Jinx doesn't keep tabs on the al Ghul family. That way leads to assassins giving you an endless sleep.

Next placed down on the table is her pint of beer. Well, what they call beer but Jinx is from England so she knows this is really just watered down water with a vague essence of hops wafted toward it and a label slapped on it claiming that it's beer.

"'Ello," she leans in to the back of the chair and peers at Talia. "Don't you have minions to do skinnings?" Jinx has never had minions. That's never been her thing - nope, for her it was a team of nare do well metahumans who were all despicable in their own unique and horrifying way.

Jinx likes Talia. She pays well and clearly has a good sense of humour. Spending that much money to fix football matches can only mean she has a playful heart. An evil playful heart. Jinx can appreciate that.
Talia al Ghul Talia al Ghul would turn her attention over to the chatter in passing where a group of Henchmen dressed like clowns were playing cards wtih some ninjas wearing cybernetic armor, and one large snapping turtle with various plates welded on.

"Oh, Jinx, hello. It has been awhile. I'm sorry I've not had the need for your services as of late. For you do such a splendid job." she goes to take a drink of her own alcohol..

Then going to gesture at the bartender. "PUt whatever she's going to have on my tab." Jinx wasn't one of the ones that would take like an asgardian and try to drink the place under. "And some things are best left to a personal touch. Skinning one's relatives is something one doesn't delegate. It's rather unseemly." She would glance over her shoulder at the other riff-raff.
Jinx "It's fine. I've got my own thing going on," Jinx doesn't want to delve in to the details. She gets enough 'side long' looks in this bar as it is. Her internment with the Titans is well known. Most assume she's playing the long game though.

Jinx looks back at the bartender and fingerguns with a wink when Talia decides to pay for the drink. "Ah. Family. Family seems like a lot of pain and trouble for no little gain." Jinx being an orphan never knew her parents and never had any siblings.

And her one interaction with her mother and father during time travel nonsense convinced her she was better off without them. "My da was described by a friend as 'a real piece of work' so there you go." An eyebrow is raised as she sees two henchmen dressed as yellow butterflies walk in to the place chatting to each other about the body count when the two death stars were destroyed.

"Thanks for the complement though. Appreciate it," Another wink. She looks relaxed as she takes a long sip of the 'beer'. Her eyes widen and she looks back at the bartender - who now has a shit eating grin on his face - "Hooow...." He fingerguns back at her. For what she just tasted was a little pint of home.
Talia al Ghul Talia al Ghul would nod over at Jinx, not asking about what those sorts of things were. One didn't ask about someone else's business and schemes. At least, not unelss they were bragging about them. And it was rather gauche to do so. Not when one wasn't allowed to pick a fight over the matter.

She would turn her attention over to Jinx. "Family. Can't live with them, can't live without them. You're born to them, born from them, and perhpas have your own." She at least recognized her own was warped. Between her father, her centuries old sister out to murder her father, and her son that she'd nearly turned into a monster if he hadn't been stronger than all of them.

"I suppose it depends as to what standard of work is the baseline. Ther eare quite a few spectrums around us, after all. So do you think that you reflect poorly on him or better?" Her grinning at the game that Jinx was playing.
Jinx Jinx pffts and rolls her eyes, "He was a semi-local English piece of shit with orange hair. I'm an internationally wanted Supervillain. There's no comparison..." Just not wanted in America, Canada, and the UK any more. Well, they -want- her but this agreement the Wayne lawyers made with the US Government and the Titans has put the kibosh on that.

Some consider it some sort of super genius move on Jinx's part. Really she was just trying to stay alive. HIVE weren't too keen on letting their high value assets walk. She does wonder when the next attempt will come - but for now they seem to be cooling their heels.

"So I'd say he reflects poorly on me. Underachieving shyte no one wanted to associate with except my ma who, as far as I can tell, was actually worse than him. Though her stomping grounds were somewhere in India or Pakistan or.. who knows."

A disinterested shrug of her shoulders and a slightly soured expression is covered up by drinking more of the genuine article beer. "So you kill your sister because she's late? Well, we all have to draw a line somewhere I guess."
Talia al Ghul Talia al Ghul would nod over, "Well then, it sounds like he's best left where he was. Hopefully with a set of concrete blocks on his ankles and kicked off the side of a pier somewhere into an appropriately polluted sea to be properly feasted over by the carrion and scavengers. Or did he go out with somewhat more dignity than that?"

She would cock her head over as Jinx would go on and elaborate over about her mother and listen. "Well, you could always try and arrange a reunion. If only to see teh look on her face if she's still alive." Which Talia hasn't the slightest clue over.

"Oh, she's normally rather prompt. Or used to be. Something's probably happened to hold her up. I'mg oing to guess likely my father." There was much bad blood amongst the Al Ghuls. Nyssa hated Ras more than most.
Jinx Jinx twists her lips a little further and shrugs her shoulders, "Depends on the timeline. Prime time, this one, he suicided by cop. The other one - eh.. chivved in prison. That man made a lot of enemies. I think it must have always been his fate to die soon after I was born."

She raises an eyebrow and smirks at Talia. "What's with all the touchie feelies. Your sister gotten to you -that- much?" She grins and drinks her beer to the half way point. "Oi nah. She's dead too. Died giving birth to me in this timeline and died in a shoot out with some cultists a few years later in the other timeline."

She's casually tossing about 'other timeline' like everyone has one. Or may be she's gloating and proud of the fact that she has another timeline all to herself. "Big bad daddy vibes. I know very little about him and I want it to stay that way."
Talia al Ghul The mention of 'this timeline' and 'prime time' has Talia looking over at Jinx like she'd grown another head. It takes Talia a moment to sort out from the girl's body language that she's being sincere. "I find this rather drives me to have something stronger." She would shake her head.

"I feel rather mundane compared to your sparkling presence. And my sister is.. I'm having to realize that simply as someone is related to you does not mean that they're completely worthless." The bit of Jinx going on again about the other timeline has Talia sigh, and go to pull out a very, very ould doubloon to pass over to the girl.
Jinx Jinx peers down at the doubloon. "What's this for?" She picks it up and gives it a flick with her thumb then catches it in her hand. "Is this a token of appreciation for talking about weird magic stuff?" She waggles an eyebrow, "Because I have all kinds of weird magic stuff stories I can share for a chest full of ye olde pirate treasures."
Talia al Ghul Talia al Ghul would smile, "Oh, old, yes. Pirate's treasure, no. Passed along from one antiquarian to another. THen passeda long to me. And you seem the type to appreciate something like that far more than I would. And in this era, weird magic makes far more sense than temporal relativity."
Jinx Jinx doesn't do magic tricks. She doesn't balance the coin between her fingers and roll it around, or palm it to make it disappear. Nope, it goes straight in to her pocket. "Huh. Well... thanks. Now I too am an aquariumian." She furrows her brows a touch. New word, didn't come out right.

"Well..." She knocks back the rest of the beer. "I don't need to be around to watch you skin your sister alive or whatever. That's your business and presuming she's late she'll likely be here soon."

She rises up and rights the seat, "Which means this is for her. She can thank me for pre-warming it later." Her eyes settle on the two butterfly henchmen, "And I really need to go tell those two nerds how wrong they are. Clearly they haven't seen Andor yet."

Jinx gives Talia a smile, "Be seeing you around. I hope."
Talia al Ghul Talia al Ghul would nod over at Jinx, "Of course. I presume that she's had difficulties. Such things happen. Family can only inevitably disappoint us after all." But, sometimes they had to. Her own attempted repairs of her relationship with other members of her family sustained now by litlte more than her agenda being at least temporarily hewn free from that of her father's. It was a small moment that she had to at least extend a parley for. For however much it would matter.

"Of course. I do hope that the timeline doesn't change enough that we don't recognize one another when we encounter one again." She would give a salute over to Jinx.. Then goes to put up some coin to cover the other girl's tab like she said she would.
