Kelda Stormrider When she concentrates hard on something Kelda can forget little things like regulating the air temperature in her immediate vicinity. On a hot day she might be pleasant if a little odd to stand next to, on a torpid New York summer's day a surprising delight.

She left her furs at the embassy. Right now on one of the succession of days reaching three digits, she is fixed on examining the double cars with 'The Hot Dog King of New York' written in cursive on their sides. She had overheard some of the local staff at the Embassy talking about hotdogs. Hotdogs stumped her so she asked the staff. After strange looks which she has learned to ignore, she found out about about the sausages known as hotdogs and where she should try one. She understands queues now and waits patiently in line, ignoring any covert looks that her height (she is nearly 6 feet) and long platinum hair (natural) she might receive.
Emma Frost The other woman has a form that's perfect. Too perfect. That and her mind doesn't quite buzz the way other humans do. Emma's spent enough time around the various deities to at least get a sense of what they 'feel' like - even if she can't always read their minds. But, it means that she can sometimes at least tell when they're present.

Emma Frost walks up over towards Kelda, and glances at the line. "You seem like you're looking for something specific." Somehow going to stand over beside Kelda in a way that normally people would complain over about being cut in front of but yet no one speaks up over.
Kelda Stormrider Kelda blinks. Not disdainfully but slightly bewildered and offers the woman a pleasant nod, her pale blue eyes reminiscent of the deep clear ice on a frozen lake. She points a refined hand at the truck.

"The hotdogs," she replies in accented English. "You know them here?"
Emma Frost Emma Frost would muse, "Yes, they're a staple. Don't ask how they're made or what's in them, however. They tend to have enough other things going with them to make up for it." She would look amused. "So you're having one for the first time? I would suggest some pretzels with extra garnishes as well."
Kelda Stormrider "A staple? And it's the first time I have heard of them. This business," she indicates the truck, "is most famous, I'm told. But pretzels with garnishes. This is like a Bloody Mary perhaps? I had one not so long ago at a Brunch. Also new to me."

She twitches her long diaphanous skirt and a breath of cool air might be felt. "What do you recommend?"
Emma Frost Emma Frost would tap a finger at her cheek, "Well, this is among the locales more famous for them, yes. But you can get them almost anywhere. There are places that consider them specialties but never delicacies. They're something meant to be indulged in and engorged on. One eats them for the taste, and little else. And that's merely an alcoholic drink which probably has so little alcohol in it it might as well be water to you. And I would suggest simply getting several and deciding which of them you like."

The coolness in the heat is more than enough reason tos tay near to Kelda.
Kelda Stormrider Kelda nods deeply as if the woman has delivered a weighty opinion on the state of the world. "I see. So...I should order several things. Would you be so kind as to help me?" She looks at the others standing with her on the hot sidewalk as the line moves up. They are nearly to the window.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would sigh, "If I must. You'll have to carry them yourself, however. I can handle teh cost then." She's not going to be so gauche as to consume hot dogs. But the mere fact the goddess is a mobile air conditioning unit makes her far pleasanter company than most.
Kelda Stormrider Amused, Kelda observes, "True, I don't have my maid with me. I wouldn't expect someone that I just met to be at my service."

The line moves and suddenly it is her turn. When the man in the window looks at her, his mouth drops open. It takes a moment for him to recover before he asks, "What can I get for you?"

"I would like a pretzel." She turns to the woman who has been so kind to her with a questioning hike to her pale eyebrows. "Yes? And a hotdog with many trimmings." She looks back at Emma to confirm her choices.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smirk over at Kelda, "Why, you never got to the 'do it yourself' phase of things? I'd call it a flaw of upbringing. You should learn to take care of yourself." She would shrug over and then smile. "Yes, make sure to put a bit of everything you have over on it. I think she wants to sample them all."

Emma goes to take out a credit card over with the 'you don't ever have to worry about moneye ver again' sigil on it.
Kelda Stormrider The pale woman sniffs and looks askance at the woman. "Do it yourself phase? I am very independent, my own...woman. But I do not know this food and asked for your recommendation. Please don't pay. I have brought some green bills with me. They should be sufficient."
