Emma Frost Gabby had called to make an appointment in advance, which had gotten Emma's curiousity. So now she was waiting for the litlte badger girl to join her. Emma was settling in with a glass of wine, and had taken teh time to have delivered by drone a large pizza that she was reasonably sure was Gabby's favorite, and two kilos of what she was fairly sure were Gabby's favorite chocolates piled up high.
Gabby Kinney It really wasn't often that one might see someone of Gabby's particular skillset with dark bags under their eyes, but today was apparently the day for it. It's an odd thing, really, because it seems as if it's simply a trick of the light as if it were healing and then getting tired again shortly after. She was running on fumes after her latest excursion. Thus the call to Emma.

She's dressed rather comfortably for the weather outside at least. Shorts that might make someone look twice, strappy sandals, and breezey loose button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Even her hair is pulled up into a messy bun. Not intentionally, she just sort of piled it ontop of her head and used a claw clip to pinch it in place. ALMOST fashionable but in a way that looks thrown together none the less.

Maybe it's just because she knew she was visiting Emma so ought to at least make some kind of effort.

The smell of pizza is a comforting scent as she knocks at the door before entering. "Hey, Emma," she greets simply with an attempt at a smile.
Emma Frost And that particular display from Gabby catches Emma's attention. It's definitely unusual for the girl that always seems so peppy and upbeat no matter the circumsances. Emma resists her normal urge to just poke into the girl's head to see what's going on and instead gestures.

"Hello Gabby, I thought you might enjoy a snack before we get down to business. And you look like someons' taken you shopping to try and get you things and you had no real idea as to how to do it." She teases. "I can have you an appointment made for a spa day and makeover if you're looking to have yourself be a litlte more presentable for the future. But I don't think that's quite why you approached me, so that can be saved for another time?" Gesturing at the snacks.
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney glances down at her attire a moment only to admit with a chuckle, "Yeah this is some of the stuff my old sister-in-law got for me last time she was in the city. Most of it was 'Cowboy' themed. This was the least 'country' out of it." She hadn't used the cowboy boots for instance. Or the hat.

A hand runs over her face a few quick times at the suggestion of food which earns a quick nod. "Yeah. That might be nice, but right now, I'm just... Sore? I don't know. Can your brain be like mentally sore?"

A pause again and she mutters, "Is that a headache?" Sometimes it was hard to know given the whole 'lack of pain' thing.

Stepping in to take a seat she none the less reaches out to snag a slice of pizza. Food was always good, and comforting. "Yeah, right now I need your help as a telepath. If that's okay." A quite bite is taken, chewed, and gulped down before she continues. "Last year I got a big head full of 'Ancient Creatures from another Dimension', and a couple of days ago I had like... I don't know. Thirty freaking demonic children trying to pry my skull open with their minds." Again she runs her hand over her face with eyes squeezing shut.

"I learned some telepath blocking stuff years ago. It didn't help. The other guy they got ahold of is a vegetable now. I think I only survived because of my healing factor and what little defenses I do have."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would muse, "Yes, it can be. When one is exhausted, stressed, has been put through too much.. Generlaly it's a sign of overloading stress and exhaustion. You can normally resolve it with some resting. Solid sleep and destressing will often handle the majority of it. I'm presuming that it's not a health related thing as your healing factor should resolve it quickly."

She evaluates the girl for any other signs that her healing factor is suppressed or indications of something wrong. Upon Gabby's elaboration, Emma would ah. "Another of those." She would look sympathetically. Last year had been the attack by the Shadow King on campus after all.

"So you're looking to have them purged, or to try and rebuild some of your psyche?" She would inquire.
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney listens to Emma's summary of the situation while devouring the pizza. She couldn't really do much like have caffiene for a boost when she needed energy but eating still did provide energy for her body. That was one thing that she could attempt at least. By the time Emma gets to the final question she's down to the crust.

"Mm. Yes, but... It might be more difficult than just that." A little uncertain she considers how to continue. Her free hand rakes back through her hair to find that bun which causes her to roll her eyes upward in annoyance as she'd forgotten about it. "... The 'Old Ones' that messed with me were trying to get me to join their side and help give them entrance into this dimension. Part of how they did that is by ..." How to explain it? "The merged my mind with my 'self' from another world they'd taken over."

"I spoke to Jamie a bit ago and he said it seemed similar to when he merged with one of his 'selves' that had been split off for awhile. Memories, skills, everything from that one blends in and it's hard to tell where one begins and the other ends."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would listen over attentively while sipping over at her mind, being thoughtful while she would watch the girl and evaluate her body language, while still not going into her mind. "So they through another consciousness into you and you had what I'd hesitate to call an extended dissassociative experience with the two of you in your head, and a rather difficult time differentiating yourselves while warring over your body. Would you say that after some time the two of you fully.. Merged together and you've mostly smoothed over that bit?" She would ordinarily use gestalted or fused, but those terms likely wouldn't make much sense to Gabby.

"That makes sense. Not quite the phrasing I would use, but Madrox has a great deal more experience in the matter so I'll defer to him on this one."
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney takes a deep breath as she considers that question. "Kind of. I can mostly use one main focusing tactic to tell when it's me versus her." A hand lifts up with fingers flexing. "She'd lost a hand completely. Sometimes it still feels weird that mine is here, but that's the main difference that helps me tell who is who. Mostly she comes out in combat situations." A little frown comes a bit. "I guess it's something I've learned to work with."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod, "I see. So are you.. Comfortable with this? I could try and purge whatever's left of her but if you two have mostly merged together that could be quite messy. And I'm not familiar with your mind before your merging so it would have a high risk. It would be easier to just try and more smoothly meld you together. But if you're mostly adapted to it then it's not as necessary. I take it that this isn't your only worry?"
Gabby Kinney Gabby Kinney opens her mouth.. then closes it. Her gaze falls to the floor a long moment or two before looking up again. "She went through hell. I feel like she deserves having some good times being with me now. Maybe that's weird, but..." A little smile comes as she realizes her thoughts completely. "I guess I feel a little less alone in my head that way."

"My main concern is fixing what damage they may have caused, and help build up some defenses if possible so this doesn't KEEP happening. I was kind of useless in that fight the other day."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod over at Gabby thoughtfully, frowning some. "All right. So you're looking for some reinforcement of your telepathic defenses? I presume that if there's lasting damage to your consciousness that smoothing them over some might also help. It's most effective to rely on your own, natural mental defenses. I can repair the damage and put in shields, but there's no guarantee that they might last long." Emma's being honest here on the limitations of her work - she trusts Gabby and the girl needs actual help here rather than Emma playing up to her vanity on the matter.

"I can fix the damage and smooth things out, and put in some shields. Then you'll be in a state wehre you can work on training some more effetively."
