Emma Frost Emma has been quite busy with her work. Marie-Ange has no doubt been just as busy with her own life. Mary has a full time job. So things alas haven't worked out for the three of them to spend some time together. But, Emma's managed to setup a time to meet with Mary for lunch. She's chosen somewhere that she hopes that Mary likes. Sitting over at the table, Emma has for once at least not bought out the entire restaurant for the afternoon. Mary doesn't seem the type to want to bask in the lifestyles of the rich and infamous.
Mary Bromfield Mary is definitely not one for the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, despite her current residence with Marie-Ange. However, she was pretty enthusiastic about meeting Ms. Frost for lunch at this location, having a definite love of good Szechuan food. Coming in, she looks around, then smiles cheerfully and waves towards Ms. Frost, making her way over to the table, "Hey, Ms. Frost, thanks for the lunch invitation!" She weaves expertly through the semi-busy lunch crowd, moving with a skill honed from years in the service industry. Of course, she /was/ a barista for a while, before becoming a full-time streamer.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "My pleasure Mary. Thank you for setting aside the time. I do hope that you and Marie-Ange are doing well. I've never seen her as happy as she was until she met you. So you're doing a great job with her. Your family is still taking care?" She would inquire and smile as the girl would join her. "And this is on me. I insist." She means the bill.
Mary Bromfield Mary smiles, "Yeah, she's just... well, everything I didn't realize I was missing, honestly. She's wonderful. Been helping me out a bit after I got a bit hurt on... er, a thing." She is definitely /not/ a good liar, as she's concealing something that happened recently. But she is good at changing the subject.

"And my family is doing great! Billy and Freddy's podcast is still doing pretty well, and the youngest ones are itching to get through high school now. I suspect my foster parents are looking forward to everyone getting out of the house eventually, considering how much of a handful we all were, or are." She grins a bit, tilting her head a bit towards Emma.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would glance over at Mary, noting well the 'thing' but not pressing the subject. The girl had her secrets, and they weren't her's to ask over. They weren't her business, and Mary was allowed her privacy. She made Marie-Ange happy, and that's all that mattered. So as the girl goes on about how her family is doing, she would smile.

"Lovely, I'm glad that they're doing well. Your younger siblings aren't pushing for murder to be inflicted on them?" As teenagers were going to be teenagers.
Mary Bromfield Mary laughs, "Nah, well... not too much. After dealing with Billy and Freddy as teens, I'm pretty used to it by now." She smiles warmly at Emma, "Also, my fosters wanted to say thank you to you, for everything you did to get Marie-Ange and I set up in that place. It means a lot, to know that you're being so supportive of us." She smiles back at Emma, genuinely meaning that.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "THe pleasure is all mine. It's always worth it to help an ambitious young woman fulfill her dreams. There aren't enough of them. So just make sure you inspire other girls to reach out to the stars in turn and we'll call it even. That makes it all worth it. And Marie-Ange is a treasure. When she smile sit's a special thing."
Mary Bromfield Mary smiles, 'Yeah, it really is. And I'm definitely having fun going to streaming full-time. Not only because I don't have Perry yelling at me all the time, but being my own boss and having my own schedule is really allowing me to expand my reach. I'm even merchandising now." She laughs a bit, "ContraryMary gear, through my website, if you'd believe that? It's really something."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would laugh, "I've heard stories about the man. I do hope that he doesn't drive himself to an early heart attack. As amusing as the staff might find it and as the bettig pool would be." She would laugh, "And congratulations. You've done very well for yourself. You've been able to setup a room properly in your home for your streaming?"
Mary Bromfield Mary nods, "Oh for sure, and Marie's even guested on a couple podcasts. She's got no head for the games, but she's so adorable and sincere about it that people love watching her play." She grins, "Also it helps keep the creepsters online a little less since they see I'm with a girlfriend." A soft laugh at that, as yes, that's always a thing.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "It's all about presentation, I presume. She and you enjoy yourselves, which is much of the selling point. But you're in a far healthier business than marketing." Yes, Emma knew well how the busienss worked.
Mary Bromfield Mary smiles, "Yeah, I don't try to be chasing the fame or anything. Just making a living with it, which seems to be going pretty well. Subscriptions are going up, and I'm back to running the BaristaCats account online too, which is a nice stress relief for me. Admittedly I do miss being a barista sometimes. Not /that/ often, but talking with customers was always nice."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Well, there's no reason why you couldn't.. What's the term.. Moonlight as it from tiem to time? Be a part time manager or something where you're mostly focused on dealing with the customers. There are a few estalbishments out there that look out to hire individuals to socialize iwth the customers." Admittedly the rather high end places..
Mary Bromfield Mary hrms, "I suppose so. I mean, having a little steady income and moonlighting like that wouldn't be a bad idea." She grins, "Though, I'm not exactly sure where I'd go looking for something like that. I mean, I know Marie's gig would probably use a bartender or barista over there, but I'm not entirely sure if that's /my/ thing." She sounds more uncertain about that than anything else.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod, "Of course. And there's no reason you can't explore to do it on your own terms. Call it a side project on your own time. Look for somewhere to find the type of job you enjoy to do it as you have the time. Just to have something personal you do for yourself."
Mary Bromfield Mary hrms, "Maybe so, but I think for right now I'll stick with the streaming and... well, Marie is definitely a reason for me to spend as much time as I can with her." She laughs softly, "Though I suppose if the Hellfire Club ever needs a barista part-time, I'm pretty good when I was working at the Coffee Bean." She grins cheerfully, "And then I'd actually be there when Marie is."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Well, then you're happy with the way things are." She would chortle, "Oh, darling, best to not imagine what sorts of things the Club has need of. It's not something you want to go in without your eyes fully open."
Mary Bromfield Mary actually /blushes/ at that, "Oh... oh my. Um, yeah, well, I know Marie wouldn't be doing things like /that/ there. Um, yeah, as much as certain fans would love me to do an OnlyFans, um, hard pass on that." She looks beet red at that, bless her heart.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod, "Oh, y es dear. But that's what the Club is known for and what it caters to. not the sort of lifestyle one wants to pursue if they're not cut out for it. So don't think of serving coffee there." She would tease.
Mary Bromfield Mary nods, taking a drink from her diet coke and not saying anything for a bit. "Yeah, that's probably for the best." She still looks pretty embarrassed about that, to be honest, but then it's something Marie doesn't have a problem with, apparently.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would not elaborate over on what, exactly, had taken Marie-Ange into it. That was the girl's story to share or not if she wished. "Do ask her sometime to take you on a tour. She would enjoy it, I think."
Mary Bromfield Mary chuckles, "I bet she would. Yeah, I'll have to ask her about that. She been asking me to come over and see where she works sometime." She looks a bit sheepish, "Sorry, guess i'm just not quite used to some things yet."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "IT's fine. I'ts a rather different lifestyle than what you're used to. You don't need to go out of your way to experience it unless you want to. It won't change anything. but a surprise every now and then isn't a bad thing. I went to boarding school with Janet." Van Dyne.
Mary Bromfield Mary blinks, "Wow. Really? That's so cool!" Apparently it doesn't take much to shift tracks for Mary, much as she is a 21-year old, it comes naturally to her. "I can't even imagine what that was like."
