Emma Frost They had settled into a small pattern. Karen didn't particularly care for going out, so they stayed inside. Emma would order alcohol, Karen would fly to wherever around the world to get food, and the two would enjoy it while it was still hot. Simple when one had superpowers.
It's now one of those times. Emma's going on. "I have somehting I thought you might enjoy . You were saying you had never been drunk?"
Karen Starr It is, at that. "No, not really. Kryptonians didn't; they'd see poisoning yourself to impair yourself to be utterly insane behavior. And well, we aren't really affected by poisons here on Earth, so that's an entirely other problem. Your little telepathic trick last time simulated it, but it isn't the same, really. It was interesting, but probably not a good idea for me to lose control like that."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Well, the real thing can be done. At least I've sourced something tha'ts potent enough to do it. And unless you're going to be blacked out I think that the world can handle a slightly tipsy Power Girl. But the decision is your's, darling."
Karen Starr That gets a curious look, as she considers Emma's statement. "Potent isn't usually the problem. I could drink pure alcohol and it wouldn't phase me. What did you get your hands on?" The Kryptonian asks, and looks to her over the few scraps that are on her plate. "Or do I want to know?"
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Oh, some Asgardian Mead from the embassy. It just took a few.. Connections to get a keg of it." Not like it's particularly -hard- to get the Asgardians to give up a keg of their strong ale. One just has ot ask nicely.
Karen Starr "Really?" Karen asks in surprise. "I'm curious what you had to give up to get that. And I'm flattered." After all, it's a lot more effort than her playing superspeed DoorDash. "I'll have to think up something good in return. You're hard to buy for. If it can affect me, I'm assuming it's far too dangerous for you?"
Emma Frost Emma Frost would laugh, "Oh, hardly. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy." She would chuckle. "I'll handle something lighter, dear. And don't worry about making a mess. We both know I can afford it. And you can get me something down the line. It's adorable that you think you need to go out of your way to reward me for finding a way to get you loaded."
Karen Starr "Then pour away. And it's not the specifics...it's the effort involved, Emma. The fact that someone cares enough for you to do such a thing. It's just hard buying for a fellow CEO."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Well, that and I'm rich enough to buy you a few times over legitimately, darling." Going to move over towards a keg. "Care to do the honors?" Her looking playfully distastefully while pushing over a beer mug while she goes to get a goblet for her own wine.
Karen Starr "Starrware's not exactly pocket change, you know?" Karen protests. However, she looks over. "Hmm. Don't have a beer tap, so I guess we just do this the easy way." Her eyes glow faint red, and she carefully, slowly, burns a hole in the top lid. With that, she picks it up, and pours into the mug. "Want to try a sip?" she asks, hefting the mug.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would laugh, "Hardly, darling. I want something I can appreciate for the taste. If I'm looking to wake up blacked out the next day, I'll have something I'll enjoy for the evening that I can remember I had the next day. But yes, cheers."
Karen Starr Fair enough. I just didn't think a sip would be too much, to see what it's like." She takes a pull from the mug. "Interesting!" She says, voice just a little hoarse. "Burns my throat a bit. That's impressive."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would grin, "Oh, I suppose. But I'll see how it goes for you first. I'm quite content to sit back and appreciate." She means she wants to be sober to see what, if anything Karen is when fully loaded - if it goes that far
