Owner Pose
Patsy Walker The night has grown late, with Hellcat's patrol taking her through the Midtown area. Using the rooftops to cover some ground, alleys are also checked for any potential signs of trouble lurking. The police bands have been mostly normal so far, but much of what's come through has been in other areas that aren't feasible to get to in time.

With nothing serious going on, she allows herself a few moments for a quick snack, perched near the edge of one of those rooftops looking down on the area below. Just an energy bar and a little water, previously stashed in an out-of-the-way spot. It pays to plan ahead.
Selene Gallio It does, indeed. Selene had been intrigued by her prior meeting with the hero, and tasked some of the cameras around the area to keep an eye out. Alerted to her presence, she had slipped out of the Hellfire Club after casting a brief spell to mask her presence from the senses. She had also chosen to done more appropriate attire for the streets, wearing tight black leather pants and a leather jacket over a deep cut vest.

It had been fairly simple to ensorcle the minds of the four men, and a bit more challenging to find a single woman foolish enough to walk along these streets alone. But she had done it, and laid out her bait for the Cat.

The girl walked on unsteady heels down the alleyway, with three man behind her catcalling. She picked up the pace, until she nearly collided with the fourth that emerged from the shadows.

"Where ya going?" he asks her toothily. She screams in panic.
Patsy Walker Of course it happens while Hellcat is snacking. Isn't that always how it goes? There's a silent swear inside her head that doesn't reach her lips, eyes narrowing behind the cowl she wears, the whites of it hiding whatever hers are actually doing beyond the general idea.

A quick sip to wash down the rest of the energy bar, a wipe of her mouth, and she's vaulting over the edge of the roof to descend in ways few others can, landing right by the woman who'd screamed just moments before. "You shouldn't be here," she tells the woman.

Then to the four, "And you definitely shouldn't be here. You haven't actually done anything yet. Go home, before you wish you'd taken advantage of my charity." Yellow suit, gloves and boots sporting claws at fingers and toes, cat-styled cowl. Yes, she's one of those people.
Selene Gallio The girl takes advantage of the momentary distraction to step around the surprised man and take off down the rest of the alleyway.

The other three men are not amused, and do not seem to be taking her warning too kindly as they advance on her. "What's it to you?" one of them barks, as another starts fumbling around inside of his jacket.

The show zero signs of going home.
Patsy Walker Hellcat cracks her knuckles. She expected this, really. "Ah, well. Can't say I didn't warn you. So you want to dance? How about I lead?"

With the woman awkwardly getting herself out of the line of fire, looking like she isn't very experienced in those heels, it leaves one on four. But the one is very good at what she does. Her first target is the one reaching for something, and her version of 'leading' comes via sweeping kick at the side of his face. She keeps the angle of her foot such that the claws won't dig in, but they sure do pass by closely enough for a warning.

"You may be thinking, there's four of you and one of me. Good odds for you. But they're not," she taunts.
Selene Gallio The man jumps back to avoid the swinging foot, jostling the man next to him. The fourth one decides he wants no part of this and turns to run off in the same direction as the girl.

It is the third man that takes the biggest swing, a fist balled up and coming towards Hellcat's face as his two colleagues jockey between who is going to advance next. They do not seem to be too talkative.
Patsy Walker "Silent partners? I can work with that," Hellcat adds. A contrast to them, she's badgering with the quips and comments, meant to throw them off just a little. Four becomes three, but she'll have to be sure the other one isn't trying to get his hands on the poor woman, foolish as she may be.

She ducks the fist after landing and aligning herself again, the sash around her midsection flowing like a tail and just as challenging to grab when in motion. "Follow closely. Watch..this!" She handsprings forward, vaulting up for a flip that sends a foot at the back of one's head, while she grabs at his belt to use as an anchor point to drive him toward one of his friends.
Selene Gallio The man was not at all prepared for that sort of limber attack, and is not just solidly thunked, he ends up a weapon agains this colleague, sending that man sprawling to the ground. The third chooses that moment to dive at Hellcat's waist, trying to get his arms around her and to drive her to the ground. Not quite aware of how foolish that attempt may be.
Patsy Walker Hellcat's very confident in her abilities, but there's a balance between that and being loose in her strikes and motions. With the third guy getting in close enough for a tackle, her lips curl into a faint smile. "You know most cats don't like their bellies touched, and what that leads to?"

Maybe she won't go /that/ far, but a hand does ball up into a fist for a solid strike at the side of his head as she positions a knee to slam up between his legs.
Selene Gallio Between the punch to his head and the knee to his balls, the man is dropped into a puddle on the alleyway, a moaning figure curled up into a ball.

The man who took the kick to the head is out like a light. The third man, though, seems willing to put up a fight. He hurls a glass beer bottle at Hellcat and then darts away, running to grab what appears to be a discarded piece of steel and hefting it up.
Patsy Walker Hellcat rolls to one side after disentangling himself from the man, and the bottle shatters somewhere behind her. Flipping back upright, the chase is on before the one still on his feet gets his hands on a makeshift weapon. "Smart, I'll give you that, but it won't change anything. One more chance. You saw what I did to them, and now it's just you and me? You know how this is going to go."

Now, she stalks toward him, keeping it slow and ready to move, playing the role of predator with prey. Save for a scuff or two, the costume still looks pristine.
Selene Gallio Eyeing the approaching Hellcat, the man shifts back and forth on the balls of his feet, holding the steel pipe loosely in his hand. It looks like this one might ACTUALLY know what he is doing, his face twisted into a bit of a grin. Like he somehow cannot accept how quickly he saw her dispatch his two friends.

From the shadows, the Black Queen watches, amusing herself as this drama plays out.
Patsy Walker Perhaps sensing this one has half a clue and isn't just going to swing wildly on her, Hellcat evaluates her options. Getting whacked by the pipe wouldn't feel very good at all, no. Distracting him, while a valid tactic, seems a bit unfair at this point. If he's got some skill, better to beat him with better skill of her own. It's only right and honorable, no matter how dishonorable they would have been with the woman.

"All right, then. Have it your way." She goes for the direct approach, hands at the ready to catch a swing of the pipe. She's fast enough, that isn't questioned. Truly as nimble and quick as a cat. If she can interrupt a swing, she can turn it against him.
Selene Gallio And that swing comes, with a strong twist of his hips. This is a man who knows how to wield a weapon. Which is why he is surprised when Hellcat is able to catch it and twist it about with such relative ease.

He backs away from her once disarmed and seems ready to turn and run, as he slowly backpedals away from her, not wanting to turn his back on the armed hero.

From the shadows, Selene grins, eager to see Hellcat unleash herself on the now unarmed man.
Patsy Walker It stings a little, but the hands will be all right. Wrenching it out of his hands, Hellcat casts the pipe on an upward arc, and the sound of metal landing atop a roof can be heard.

Shaking her left hand as the man goes from bold to cowardly in moments, she advances to keep the distance the same. "Why do you never listen? Shouldn't people like you know better by now?" she wonders aloud, an edge to her voice.
Selene Gallio With the pipe out of consideration, the man take a few steps backwards and then spins around, intent upon dashing down the alleyway and trying to get away from the Hellcat.

The Black Queen wonders if the hunter is going to be so eager to give up on her prey...
Patsy Walker She could. Surely the lesson has been learned by now? But it might not be. Something more direct could be needed. "And now the little mouse decides to run from the cat, when it could have stayed hidden the whole time."

Hellcat chases, and before he reaches the end of the alley she leaps in a pounce, hands coming for his shoulders for a tackle. He'd be driven to the ground with her atop him, pinning him in place. "What will it take for you to learn?"
Selene Gallio The man grunts as he is driven to the ground, flat beneath Hellcat. He does not struggle, realizing he has been caught, and knowing by far she overpowers him. This prey is no longer running, and seems to be of little interest or resistance. "I learned...I learned...." he pleads.

Selene drifts along the alleyway, remaining unseen, dispersing any influence she has, waiting to see how Hellcat handles this.
Patsy Walker There's a desire to make the man pay for what he would have helped do to the woman. Hellcat will have to retrace the steps and see if she can find either of the two who ran off early. All of a sudden, the man's bravado is gone as he gets a close look at claws millimeters from his face. Her visage looms overhead, somehow more menacing than before.

"I should cut you, but I have a better idea." She takes that hand and pats him down clinically, until she finds his wallet and removes anything that identifies him. It's held in front of her eyes long enough. "Got your name. I'll be checking your record, and if I see anything new come up you won't want me to find you. Now get out of here."

His stuff is dumped back in his lap long enough for him to gather, then she boots at him with a foot. "Run."
Selene Gallio The man stares up at Hellcat with a mixture of anger and shame. And no small amount of confusion. "Y-yes!" he says, scrambling backwards so eager to be away that he almost spills the contents of his lap onto the ground before grabbing it all in his arms and takes off, running off to the street.

Selene considers that quickly, before slipping back into the shadows. This Hellcat is an interesting one, to be sure...
