Emma Frost Not all meetings could be for fun. Some of them had to be on business. And now Emma was working with Karen on a possible sub-contract for Frost Enterprises to offer to Starrware. "My company works on logistics. Shipping in bulk." Among many, many, many other things.
"With all of the ever so wonderful backups as of late.." Because everyone needed more things sooner.. "We need more efficient predictors."
Karen Starr     Karen considers. "Starrware is more into research, but this isn't difficulty." Not to someone who was a science specialist on Krypton. "I'm sure I can write something for it. Nothing on the level of a full AI, but it shouldn't be too hard to pull up an expert system." She sighs. "Doing it in Earth's computer languages will be annoying, but it can be done."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod, "Oh, I'd much rather not have a full AI. Those tend to become sentient rather easily and we've had enough rampaging killer robots to last us for a few months at least. Just a predictive algorithm. And I'ms orry for making you work within our limited technological base." Amusedly squeezing Karen's wrist. "I suppose this is the equivalent of making you work with a pen and paper."
Karen Starr     "More like an abacus." Karen says dryly. "All right...you have a laptop handy? I didn't bring one. But I can work on it for you."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Butof course. I always need something to put down some ideas on." She goes to grab one over and then pass it forwards. "I'd say something about needing to set up a secure network for it but I'm reasonably sure you could bypass any encryption anyways."
Karen Starr Karen looks amused. "I don't need an internet connection to write code." She says, and moves to sit at the table, opening up the laptop. She looks over to the other blonde. "So, what do /I/ get out of this, anyway?" she asks, smiling as she looks over to the other room. "This feels like it should at the VERY least come with a good latte and a backrub." Her fingers begin to dance over the keys. She can't use her full superspeed to do this, but she can type as fast as the processor and keyboard can keep up with.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would muse over, "Well, it means that you get a rather nice contract for it. I know that it only takes you a short time to come up with it. . But, I give you a contract, which includes things like maintenance and updates.. And it lets you perhaps make enough money to have a couple of floors of your business have the aesbestos treated. Maybe new carpets. I've seen where you work."
Karen Starr "Pfft. Normal, boring business dealings? It's not like we don't have maintenance. But fine, if you like." Karen says, a little dismissively. "Here I thought you'd want the opportunity to score some girlfriend points." Karen says, as she smiles and keeps typing. "But if you want it all above board and on the record for something, we can do that."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Well dear, I could, but this way I get it as a tax writeoff and you get to show me how sklled you are. So that's a win by my book. Since I get to see how useful you are with that big, gorgeous brain of your's." Leaning in to give Karen a smooch on the forehead.
Karen Starr Karen looks over, and smiles. "Mmmm-hmmm. It's not my big, gorgeous /brain/ that most people are interested in." She says, a little sassily. "But I guess telepaths must have a different set of standards."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Yes dear. Anyone can be gorgeous. Not everyone can be overpowering like you are." She would go to squeeze Karen's wrist. "And I adore you for many things. your brilliance, your power, your stubbornness."
