Sally Houki The place: upstate New York.

New York is, after all, not all New York City. It's the more rural parts of the state that get ignored in just about... all media, forever and ever.

Presently, Sally is driving a hot pink convertible down a lonely stretch of road in the middle of nowhere. Why? She suddenly felt the need to. Truth be told, she's not even sure what she's doing here. Sometimes, she just does things when the impulse strikes, and usually, it doesn't steer her wrong. She's used to following her instincts. The starry night overhead is beautiful, and while she rarely drives due to her difficulty in paying attention for sustained periods of time, it's a fun thing to do on occasion.
Singularity     Overhead, part of the stars move, a blue flicker floating through the air as Singularity flies overhead. She doesn't really have a purpose for being out her, other than curiosity...first the pink car, which is pretty. Then, the oddity of the woman driving it, causing her to fly down closer out of curiosity.
Sally Houki Perhaps this meeting was what drew her out here in the first place. It wouldn't be the first time Sally was drawn to somewhere she needed to be, or maybe not. It's hard to say. Quantum gets weird that way. In any event, she can hardly notice anything of the sort, but there's probably something off about her. From one quantum anomaly to another, there *is* that trait they share in common.

She speeds her car up. Perhaps it's the cold chill that just went down her spine.
Singularity     After a moment there's a flash in the air then a blue dot that expands with a *poink* as a blue girl abruptly appears in in the passenger seat, the girl kneeling as she peers at Sally curiously. "Hello."
Sally Houki Needless to say, the sudden presence of a being who looks like that suddenly appearing in her car causes Sally to flip out. She screams in surprise and, at the rate of speed she's going, even the momentary lapse in her concentration is enough to make her lose control of the car -- however briefly. She slams on the breaks, but the swerving has already begun.
Singularity     Singularity grabs onto the seat as the car goes out of control, her glowing white eyes going wider as the car starts to spill out. "Oops!" There's a blue flash as it expands over the car...and vanishes...and then reappears in an open field of green grass, landing with a thump!
Sally Houki "AHHH!" The equally colorfully dressed girl flails in her seat, briefly confused but realizing her car, and she, are momentarily safe!

She yanks her seat belt off succesfully after fumbling it for three tries and bolts out of the car, "Ahh! Ahh! Oh my god," she yells. "You... but you just... you're made of stars?" she asks, brain functioning again. "You're...very...starry?" She asks after another brief pause. There's something about her causing a pain behind her eyes. Something she doesn't want to dwell on.
Singularity     "Sorry!" Singularity says, holding up her hands. "Did not mean. To scare." she says. She looks genuinely upset to have nearly caused the accident, then leans in, tilting her head as she peers at Sally. "Stars. Behind your eyes." she says after a moment.
Sally Houki The color drains from her face immediately. Oh, sure, the rest of her attire is absolutely colorful, but not her face. Not anymore. She's blanched as hard as anyone can blanch. "You're... no. You're not one of them. You're something else." She's speaking more to herself than directly to Singularity, on that front. A steadying breath is taken, she leans a hand on her car. "What..." She's trying to understand, decide how to respond. Her head hurts. "Behind my eyes. I don't want to go," she manages to whisper.
Singularity     Singularity raises a brow curiously at the comment, frowning, then reaching over to rest her hand on Sally's hand comfortingly. "Are not having to go?" she says, questioningly. "Not taking. You. Anywhere."
Sally Houki "You're... not," says Sally, planting both hands on the front of her car. She is clearly starting to have some kind of panic attack. "You're not. You're not taking me anywhere. You're not taking me anywhere," she repeats her words several times and it seems to have a calming influence on her. Panic attack is subdued, momentarily, to focus on the fact that there's a girl made of stars looking right at her. "You're /made/ of the things." Stars.
Singularity     "No." Singularity says softly, soothingly. "Not taking." She pats her hand gently. "Made of. things?" she says curiously, looking down at herself, then smiles easily. "Yes. Stars. Galaxies. Space between. All things. Made of all things." she confirms after a moment.
Sally Houki "That's why it hurts to look at you," says Sally. "Don't take that the wrong way. You're actually /beautiful/ and I can see that. So beautiful it hurts." Sally looks away from her. She probably means it different. "You're not them." Something else, obviously, but the note of panic that creeps into her voice when she says 'them' indicates that, whatever they are, they scare her in a way that chills her to her deepest core. She pats the hood of her car and then hops onto it to sito n it. "You sensed me?" she asks, carefully.
Singularity     Singularity gets a little blush but smiles at that. "Thank you." she says politely. "Don't know them? But do not think. I am. Them." She again reaches over, this time taking Sally's hand, squeezing it comfortingly, her own warm. "Do not be. Afraid?" AS Sally sits on the hood, she floats up, hanging in the air. "Yes. Felt you. Different. Same." She furrows her brow. "Strange?"
Sally Houki "You're not them. You don't look like them. You look like *something*. They... don't look like anything. I'm not from here. You know that already, though," says Sally, glancing upwards otwards the sky. She lets her hand be taken. It's...reassuring to her, yes, and she clearly is okay with that. "Different, yeah. I'm different, but you're... something. Obviously. You're something... different than them," whoever 'them' is.
Singularity     Singularity nodnods at that. "Yes. You are. From elsewhere. But. Not outside. Elseplace." she says thoughfully. "Different energy." She points to herself. "Singularity. From outside. This place." She motions around her. "This Universe."
Sally Houki "Yes, elsewhere. It was, but now it's not," explains Sally. "It's not really anything, anymore." She combs her fingers through her hair and lets her other hand still be held onto should Singularty wish to continue holding it. She stares at her. "That makes... no sense and is amazing at the same time. It makes all the sense at the same time," she adds, "but logic and common sense break down at the quantum level anyway."
Singularity     Singularity cocks her head. "Gone?" she says solemnly, her eyes serious now as she lets her hand be held, not seeming to mind it if it comforts Sally. "You. Understand." she says after a moment, smiling at that. "Hard to explain. To most people." She nods slightly. "What. Are you?"
Sally Houki "A reufgee of sorts," says Sally after a pause of searching for the right word. She needs to find the right words. "I understand some things," she adds, "but not all of them. I'm just... something else. Not fully sure, really. Probably know less than you do." A tired smile. "Things... stopped working there. The rules stopped applying. I can't think about it. It's not safe."
Singularity     "That is bad." Singularity says seriously. "When rules are wrong." She wrinkles her nose and smiles easily again. "Came here. To be like. Heroes. Friends. Here once before. Time. Is different now. No one remembers. That time. Only this time."
Sally Houki "It branches, this time and that time. I get it," says Sally after a moments contemplation, "A different permutation, but the same." She nods, clears her throat. "Yeah, I'm here for them too, I guess. I didn't mean to be here, but maybe I did? I don't know. There's so many universes, but none like you. I've never seen anything like you, not here."
Singularity     Singularity beams. "Not like me." she agrees. "They do not come here." She wrinkles her nose. "Look inside. WAtch inside. Focus inside. Not outside. Not other places. Other time/space/quantum." She taps her chest. "Like here. Heroes. Brave. Good. Protect people. They are. Greater. Inside. They /shine/." the girl says, sounding fascinated. "Want to be like them."
Sally Houki "I've met some of them too! They're the coolest," says Sally, "I love them. Where I'm from, we didn't have anything like them either. Just... nothing. Just people. Like I was." She blinks her eyes. "I look back, and it all branches there too. I can't look." She puts a hand over her eyes.
Singularity     "Focus. One line. Line that brings you here." Singularity suggests softly. "Collapses possibilities, when you look. Less confusion? Too many paths." She considers, then points herself. "Singularity." She then points to Sally, getting a questioning look?
Sally Houki "Sally," offers Sally after a moment, "You're *called* SIngularity? Little on the nose, isn't it?" She taps her nose, adding, "You make sense to me."
Singularity     Singularity blinks cute. "Yes? Am Singularity." she says, as if this should be self evident really. Perhaps she's not quite sure how personal names work? "Sally. Yes. On nose!" she says, laughing softly. "Saaaaally. Pretty name."
Sally Houki "A common one, though. Just Sally, though, really," says Sally with a small smile. She's disarmed, somewhat, byut Singularity at this pojt. She looks from side to side. "How did you bring me here?" She asks. Her head tilts.
Singularity     Singularity shrugs slightly. "This place. That place. Same place. Different time. Can go anywhere. To any person I know. Take anything with me." She looks around, then points into the grass, where white flowers poke up through the grass in a irregular blanket. "Pretty."
Sally Houki "That makes sense." Sally takes a look around, then adds, "... I wonder if I could move that way. I mean, I can go to different dimensions, so why not somewhere else on this one?" She looks sideways, for a moment, then cringes, "UGh. No. I don't even want to think about it right now. Makes my head pound." She holds a hand out towards Singularity again. "It is very nice to meet you. You and I have a commonality."
Singularity     Singularity nods. "Go there too. But want to stay. Here." she says, in her oddly disjointed speech. It's like she's having to pause occasionally to figure out how to put a concept into a vocalization. "You. Commonality?" she says uncertainly, but take sthe offered hand, shaking it in a friendly way!
Sally Houki "We share a similarity, I mean," explains Sally, "Similar in a particular way but I'm obviously not made of stars. You said I had them behind my eyes, though. WEhich means I have stars in my eyes." She seems to find that funny, starting to laugh after a moment dwelling on it.
Singularity     "Everyone sees stars. But stars. Are just easier to see." Singularity says after a moment of thought. "Brighter?"
Sally Houki "Makes sense," says Sally, looking at her hand after it was shaken. She shakes her hand out and smiles at her. "I like you," she tells her, "I prefer the brighter stars, anyway."
Singularity     "Like you too!" Singularity says cheerfully. "Sorry. For suprising you." she admits. "Forgot." She looks a little sheepish.
Sally Houki "No, that's fine! It's fine! I get it. Sometimes, you forget how other people can see you! I do the same thing, sometimes, but not frequetnly. I keep a lower profile." She places a finger over her lips. "I don't want to meet anyone who'd like to try to make me go back home."
Singularity     "Would not let someone take you." Singularity says simply. "Not if you. Did not want to go." Because that's what you do, from her tone. "Hunting you?"
Sally Houki "Maybe. I don't know. Not everyone likes what they don't understand, or thinks they do in the wrong way. I'm not going to stick around to find out which part they've got wrong. You don't have to help me, though." She smiles, holding out both her hands again.

It is not every day you get to touch the stars.
Singularity     Singularity cocks her head, her brow furrowing cutely. "Of course I do." she says, as if it's simply a matter of fact. "Do not turn away. From people who need help." She takes the two hands easily enough, squeezing them lightly as she smiles at her softly.
Sally Houki "That's sweet of you to say but I won't come to you unless it's the right thing to do, I promise," she offers, warmly. "May I touch your.. hair?" She's so curious. She wants to know what she feels like. She's MADE of stars. And galaxies and it's just *beautiful*, so painfully so to her eyes. "I know most people have nmever seen anything like you but you're different than what I've seen too."
Singularity     "Yes." Singularity says, leaning in towards her a bit. "I am me. There is only one of me." she says after a moment. "Only one of this Sally.' she says, lifting a hand to gently poke Sally's sternum.
Sally Houki "Yes, there's only one me, one real me, anyway," she says, laughijng, after she's poked. She strokes back Singularity's hair, curiously, "Oh my god, that's so weird. It's like hair, but not really hair, and hair at the same time. YOU ARE SO COOL." She is almost squeeing.
Singularity     It certainly /feels/ like hair. Even if it just sort of...becomes where it's attached to her head, rather than being actual distinct follicles. It feels fluffy! Almost like silk, but smoother somehow, with substance but somehow almost liquid in how easily it flows between fingers. She does get a faint flush at the compliment. "Hair is hard." she admits. "Fingers are easily. Toes are strange." Which explains why she doesn't have toes, really, just...sort of a shape of feet. Much like how the rest of her is curvy enough to be feminine, but without any real details. Other than, oddly, a belly button.
Sally Houki "It does feel really nice," says Sally, playing with it a moment longer. "Thank you. I don't want to invade your space without your consent! That is super important too, or make you feel weird or something. I can't believe how neat this is." She lets go of her hair, then looks down at her feet. She sits down to inspect it. "Yeah, you look.. alittle..." Well, her feet look l ittle Liefledian, let's not lie. "So you can change your shaope? Like... make yourself look like other things but it takes work?"
Singularity     "Fine." Singularity assures her. "You. Asked." She beams at her a bit, then mms. "Yes? Shape is. Malleable." she says after a pause. "Easier. In this shape. To be in this place." She holds out her hand, wiggling her fingers. "Like heroes. Here."
Sally Houki "Makes sense. People won't know what they're looking at. It'll just seem like you're a hero who's got a star field cgenerating power! They won't get it." She tilts her head still inspecting her. "It's so beautiful even if it hurts my head to think about. Ow, ow." She rubs her face.
Singularity     Singularity frowns. "Do not want to hurt. Your head?" she says, a bit worriedly. She doesn't seem to mind being looked over though.
Sally Houki "No, it's just... like looking at the sun. The sun is pretty, right? But it makes your eyes sting and you dodn't wanna look too directly at it. I can look at you fine, but if I lift back the veil a little, it hurts." She gives a shrug.
Singularity     Singularity says seriously. "Then don't do that." She doesn't want to be hurting people's heads! "Not too deep. Do not mind looking." she amends.
Sally Houki "Do you know where you came from? Or how you became who you are?" asks Sally, curiously. It can't be anything like she went through. Singularity seems far too... pure if that's the right word for it.
Singularity     Singularity looks curious now. "From outside. I am always who I am?" she answers, in order. She hesistates for a moment, then points at herself. "Universe. But. Here. In this place."
Sally Houki "That makes sense, I guess," says Sally, pinching the bridge of her nose as she puts it together. "A universe, within a universe, in a universe. Wow." She leans back, now, putting her hands on the hood of the car, laughing, "Wow."
Singularity     Singularity beams. "Yes." She got it! People don't always get that explanation. Though she wrinkles her. "One universe. In one universe." she clarifies. She points to herself. "SEe outside. Of universe. Not separate."
Sally Houki "I think I understand." Of course, given her nature, Sally would have a better chance to understand it intuitively than some others. "You can't really ask me to explain it, but I think I get it." She puts her hands up. "We should play video games."

Because of COURSE that's what you do when you meet a sentient universe.
Singularity     "Video. Games?" Singularity says curiously. With the air of someone who hasn't heard those two particular words used in this context before.
Sally Houki "Uh *huh*. They're a fun thing to do! That's it. I'm taking you home," says Sally, "and I am putting you in some clothes and we are going to play games together." She nods, firmly.
Singularity     Singularity wrinkles her notes. "Clothes. Are. Silly." she proclaims! After all, it's not like she needs to stay warm or such.
Sally Houki "That's not true! Clothes can say a *lot* about someone. I'll show you," says Sally, "Clothes are a way to express *more* about you. It's a language, as sure as talking is. Now, can you take me, and my car. Now, we need to get my car to my house..."
Singularity     Singularity mmmms, looking unconvinced by this idea, but at least willing to listen. "Talk. With clothes?" she says doubtfully. She pauses. "Have to know. Where to go. CAn bring back to road? Or New York." she adds after a moment of thought.
Sally Houki "The road would be good! You can ride with me," says Sally, "Best we don't draw too much attention by appearing somewhere in a city full of closed circuit TV cameras," she muses. And then she slides into her car. "Oooh. This is gonna be so cool."
Singularity     That brow furrow returns. Cameras? She nods though, then there's a *blip* and suddenly the car is sitting on the shoulder of the road you were on. "Yes!" She floats up the lands into the seat, looking around, then after a moment of figuring it out pulls the seat belt over and carefully locks it in place. "Safe." she says.
Sally Houki "Woooow," says SAlly once this is accomplished. So cool. She is also SO never introducing her to Kaminari. NEVER. EVER.

And with that, she is gonna put the pedal to metal and get them back to New York City. She speeds.
