Longshot It has been a few weeks since the blonde mutant had literally dropped from the sky to save a pair of harassed mutants. And since then, despite the appearance of his face all over social media, there have been no further sightings. No whispers, no rumors. As if he were merely a figment of their imagination.

In that time, Longshot had managed to learn a bit about this world that he had been thrust into. The importance of money became clear when he sought a place to sleep, and then as fortune would have it, he found a pile of it in the street, likely having fallen out of some van, and used it to procure a room. And update his wardrobe, which he realized made him stand out quite dramatically.

And eventually, he realizes that it could be traded for food. And while he had not felt hungry upon arrival, and knew not what kind of food there was back where he came from, he knew that _this_ food was markedly better.

And so he had started to learn his way around the world, and avoided any adventures. What he did _not_ avoid tonight was one sharp eyed patron of the Saints and Sinners who _did_ recognize him from his exploits a few weeks earlier. Within minutes, chatter is up on the Internet that the mysterious blonde has been spotted.

The only question now is who will get to him first.
Kitty Pryde Kitty Pryde had been searching for the mutant that the X-men encountered. Using online means, searching social media posts and doing recognition on photos, but also just plain doing it the old fashioned way.

She had already been out and about tonight, showing pictures with a likeness of him that she'd generated, and so far not really having any luck. Kitty stopped for a milkshake at Mootant Town Milkshakes and then continued on showing the picture around as night fell.

Her phone gives three short buzzes, Kitty pulling it out at that notification that means one of her search programs is sending a result. "Hrm," she says as she pulls up the social medical post. "Guy should be a model", she reads from it. "I'd buy anything and everything he was selling. Ok, sounds like it could be him," Kitty says, stowing her phone and making her way towards the club she's geolocated the post as coming from.

Thankfully she dressed nice enough to not have a problem getting into the club. Black slacks and a jacket over a white blouse with a low neckline. She moves into the club and stays to the darker areas as she moves about in search of Longshot.
Longshot For a man trying to keep a low profile, Longshot is doing a very piss poor job of it. By the time Kitty arrives, he is hanging from the spiral stairway to Heaven, holding court with a bevy of admirers around him. It is unclear what he is saying, but with a relaxed smile on his face and flowing laughter from the women around him, it is either really funny, they are really inebriated, or they have some other motivation to stroke his ego.

One of the women slips up and hands him a drink, and right as he is about to bring it towards his lips his eye flashes for a moment and someone jostles him from behind on the staircase, causing his fingers to slip and the glass to come crashing to the ground.

The other women seem a bit surprised at the sound. The one who offered it just looks _angry_.

If Kitty has paid close attention to the intel, she might recognize the woman as being a member of the Friends of Humanity.

Which made her no friend of Longshot.
Kitty Pryde Kitty makes her way around the outside of the bar once she spots Longshot. The woman giving him the drink, and what ensues, is definitely noticed by Kitty. She pulls out her phone, thumbing across its controls. Snapping a photo of the woman surreptitiously, and then confirming her suspicions on the woman's identity.

A drunk man stops in front of her. "Hey beautiful. What do you say you and I go sin down in Inferno?" Kitty glances up at him. "Ah, thanks, my tastes have more often run towards the angelic types," she says. She leaves the man behind and moves over to talk to one of the bouncers. She shows him her phone, and the man glances up at the woman near Longshot. Then back to her phone again.

Soon thereafter the bouncer is approaching the woman. "I'm afraid you need to leave," he tells her. If she doesn't come with him he'll take hold of her arm firmly to walk her towards the exit.

Assuming that draws people's attention, Longshot might not notice Kitty until he he looks back from the woman's departure and finds her standing there with a pair of drinks in hand. "This one is probably a little better," she suggests, offering the glass to Longshot. It's got an orange color, the screwdriver smelling of vodka.
Longshot There is certainly a bit of confusion that leads to Longshot being completely unaware of the controversy surrounding that other woman. She is extracted from the scene, and by the time he looks back, Kitty is there.

He does not recognize her, of course, because she had stayed back during his initial encounter with the X-Men, but something inside tells him that she is worthy of trust.

"It may be the same, but the hand offering it is certainly fairer," replies Longshot with a winsome smile. He flips off of the staircase to land with a near featherlight thump before Kitty, and then accepts the drink from her.

"Thank you," he says, studying her for a moment.
Kitty Pryde "Kitty", the brunette tells Longshot. "Short for Katherine," she adds as she takes a sip of her own screwdriver while looking at the blond-haired mutant overtop of the rim of her glass.

She glances past Longshot at the other women who had gathered about him. "I seem like I'm not that popular, having taken your attention away from others," she comments with a faint smile towards Longshot. She glances around the club. "I don't suppose you're much into dancing are you?" she asks when her eyes move to the dance floor and back to him. "This is a pretty good song. Very retro," she says. They are playing I Melt With You by Modern English, with some extra bass overtop.
Longshot "I did not think it was short for Alexander," replies Longshot, with a bit of a smile. Not that he knew that Kitty _was_ short for Katherine, but he did not want to admit too much ignorance. There was far too much of it rolling around in his head.

There is a glance back towards the disappointed women, but Longshot shrugs. "They had me for long enough," he says, raising the drink to his lips and sampling it. He nods emphatically along with the music. "Very tasty. Thank you, Katherine." He considers her question, and then grins.

"Even if I weren't into dancing, I'd be a fool to turn down a chance to dance with you, right?"
Kitty Pryde The comment brings a smile to the brunette's face. "You're quite the charmer," she comments, smiling again overtop of her glass as she takes a sip. Then another, larger one since they'll be going out to the dance floor. If short of chugging the drink down.

"Shall we?" she asks, offering Longshot her hand to let him lead. "And who do I have the pleasure of dancing me about the floor tonight," she asks, not having caught a name from him yet.

She glances over towards the stairs up and down. "I haven't ever checked out the rest of the club. May have to go take a look sometime," she says.
Longshot "That's what I was built for," says Longshot, although even he for a moment twists his lips in a bit of confusion at that phrase, but then it fades away in favor of a smile towards Kitty.

He finishes off the drink and takes her hand, drifting out towards the dance floor with her. As he turns to face her, and her question, he chuckles. "Me, of course," he says, as if that were a valid answer to the question.

He casts a glance behind him, and then forward to the other spiral staircase, and offers a shrug. "I have not gone beyond this room, so I'm not sure. I imagine it's quite impressive, though."
Kitty Pryde Kitty follows Longshot out onto the dance floor. She lets out a soft laugh. "Just 'Me'? Can call you that but it'll probably be confusing to everyone else around," she teases.

She begins dancing with him. The young woman is a pretty darn good dancer, having wanted to be a professional dancer and taken classes before she went to Xavier's School. Where she continued to do dance classes. Even forcing poor Doug to take one with her.

"It's supposed to be risque, the basement, I guess. Though not quite sure just how bad," Kitty says as she dances with Longshot.
Longshot There is a moment where he thinks about that, as if evaluating whether to give her a name. "Oh, I'm not so sure about that. I think if anyone else thought they could capture your attention when I am standing here, they would realize it's a longshot."

Following along with Kitty, it becomes clear that in addition to his overall agility, the man has some understanding of rhythm. His moves are not initially ones that one might expect, but in short order he is following along and matching Kitty's. As if he were learning how to dance along the way, but with such speed that it appears to come naturally.

"Risque, eh?" he asks, another glance towards the stairs to the basement. "Are you the sort who likes to explore such things?"
