Owner Pose
Victor Creed Victor Creed had certainly been making the most of his investment. Since buying the debt owed by River Banks instead of breaking her legs for it as he was hired to do, he had been able to enjoy her unique talents a few times. It was always good to have a fun mutant to play with. Or he thought she was a mutant, anyway.

Tonight, he had finished his mission in record time. They would find that politician lying face down in the gutter, and his bank account was already swollen. So it seemed a good night to pay a visit to River. She was, after all, in the area.
River Banks     She was in the area. Odd chances, New York and Gotham being so far apart that she was walking along the hudson's edge, near some restrooms that were shut down for the season. She had paused in the gloaming of the oncoming night, to look at the lights in the water, quiet reflections of the city that never slept above them. Her lips were pressed closed, her body relaxed, wearing a warm jacket and jeans, legs crossing at her ankles as she considered the cool liquid below her.

She breached out, drawing one gloved hand, and created a small spattering of ice crystals on the surface of the water.
Victor Creed Spotting River along the pier, looking so content as she plays with the water, Victor's fanged smile gleams briefly in the night. Sure, she has control of water, and there is an entire river there. But as he has learned already, she needs focus and concentration.

Dropping down beneath the pier itself, Sabretooth uses his stealth and agility to crawl, slowly, beneath the pier, making his way towards her. She is even kind enough to mark her spot with those ice crystals.

Slowly, he approaches, until he is just beneath her. Wedging his feet up against the pier, he moves swiftly.

His face appears just above the water's edge as his hands reach out and grab River's ankles, yanking her down hard, such that the front of her head smacks the railing on the way down before he flips her backwards unto the murky sandy shore under the cover of the boardwalk.
River Banks     Usually under the boardwalk is supposed to be romantic.

She catches Victor's face in the water, and like the prey creature she is, she freezes -- her arm comes out to try and stio her head from hitting so hard against the railling as hr footing is robbed from her, and she goes down giving a yelp of alarm -- not that there's anyone around to hear it.

Her hands scrabble for purchase against the rocks, dully, trying to find a hand hold that she's not with-it enough to grab as she sucks in an alarmed breath, and a short 'no -- no no no!'
Victor Creed Moving with the agility of the feline predator he is named for, Sabretooth flips back from the pier and hurls himself at River, throwing the full weight of his body against her and then her body against those rocks.

"Where you think you're going?"
River Banks     THere's a crack and a blossom of pain against her right side when Victor hits her. She gives a cry out, her fingers curling as his weight hits her, knocking the breath out of her body as she winces.

Where does she think she's going?

"St... op... leave me alone --" she trails off with a breath, her hand curling into a fist as she looks up at Victor with fear in her eyes.
Victor Creed     It ends as suddenly as it began. Victor slams her against the rock, and then, once he is content that she has learned her lesson, he steps away, grinning down at her.

"Why would I leave you alone, when you are so much fun to play with?"

Sabretooth lets out a bellowing laugh, and then, having had his fun, turns and starts to climb over the rocks to get back to the pier.
River Banks     "Because I. Am Done. Being Someone Else's playing." River snarls with a quiet fury in her voice, and she steps forward, blood on her hand dripping down to her wrist as she reaches out.

Human bodies are mostly water, right? No reason why Creed's should be any different. She reaches out with her powers, tracking to every water molecule in Sabretooth. Every tear. Every drop of snot and blood in his body as she orders it. To. Halt. Right where he is.

Every drop of water in his mucles, surrounding the mylien sheath of the nerves.

River's control was his saving grace, but now she was furious.
Victor Creed     The usual cocksure grin on Sabretooth's face fades as he is frozen in place. This is something...unusual. "Hey. What are you doing?"

He does not like this, not at all.
River Banks     "What I should have done in the alley." River replies.

"I don't 'control' water. I control the molecular agitation." River breathes out, "I can pull the water from your organs and drown you with it. I can pull water from your bowels and kill you with dehydration and leave you a husk." she growls.

"But the worst thing I can do, is I can tap each molecule in your body -- your muscles, your organs, your brain -- and I can boil you alive in your skin."

And Victor may start to feel warm. UNcomfortably warm, feverish.

"And because you have that healing factor -- you might take a couple minutes longer to boil like a crawdad pot."
Victor Creed     Victor was not the smartest, although he was ruthlessly effective at his chosen calling. The explanation she gives goes right over his head.

The feeling he starts getting, though. The pain, as he starts to heal from it, and it comes again. This is not like the type of pain that he enjoys.

"Stop it." he snarls at her. "Stop it, or so help me..."
River Banks     "/OR WHAT VICTOR CREED/. I've got you. Now we're playin' my game, and ain't it just a gas. You pursued me. Y'all TORTURED me. You shoulda broke mah leg an' called it good but *no*. You made me feel *small* an' *helpless*. How's it feel, Creed? How's it *feel* to be *helpless*?" she growls, and she twists her hands. His own muscles, slowly cooking as she starts working to overwhelm his healing factor, begin to twist. His skin may even begin to steam, pressure building like a migraine, like ice picks to his brain through his eyeballs as the water inside of him expands.

    "/Beg Me/."
Victor Creed     Whether Victor Creed thinks that River has the capacity to do what she is threatening to do or not, he is not about to give in. Not to her. Not to anyone.

"Do it." He snarls at her. "Do it, and you'll be no better than me!"
River Banks     River's face is contorted with fury. Her hands are kept up as she keeps her place. She braces herself.

The torture she's been put through -- how many others had he done that to? How many others did he make feel helpless.

"You ain't shit right now. she growls, and she pushes her powers, boiling, raising the temperature inside his body, cooking Victor Creed alive inside his own skin.

"An' you ain't the first one I've killed."

And River pushes harder than she has ever before with her powers, turning water inside Victor to steam, from the tips of his toes to every fluid in his cerebral cortex.
Victor Creed     As the pain rises inside of him, and as Victor feels himself losing consciousness and then rapidly regaining it as his healing factor fights against the damage, extending the agony, he focuses his attention on River.

Narrowing his gaze, he opens his mouth, fangs still visible even as the rest of him boils and pops.

    "/When/ I come back, I'm going to--"

The words choke off as the brain of the mutant finally pop inside of his skull, and his body drops limply onto the rocks.
River Banks     River retrieves her shoes. Her jacket. ANything else she can recover from their fight.

The body drops limply onto the rocks, liquids boiling still, filling the air with steam.

She impassively stares down at the remains, and then with a swift blow of her heel she knocks the fangs out of the steaming skull.

"When you come back, you steaming pile of shit, you remember what Ah did. An' that Ah ain't scared ta do it again." she reaches down and takes the fangs, and spits on his corpse.

And then River Avon Banks, daughter of a murdered mother, kicks the well-done remains of Victor Creed into the Hudson River, and turns to walk away.
