Jennifer Walters Alarms are blaring! Dogs are barking! People are running! Sirens are approaching!

And Jennifer Walters is just trying to get back to the office after taking a deposition when she hears the commotion coming from the jewelry store at the next block.

"And I /just/ got these Jimmy Choo's," she mutters to herself. "Here," she says, pulling off her shoes and handing it to the newspaper stand guy next to her. "Hold these, will you? Thanks!"

And with that, the Jade Giantess is pounding the pavement in her bare feet.
Remy LeBeau      "Always in de wrong place at de wrong time, LeBeau..."

What was Remy doing in the jewelry store in midtown is anyone's guess, but the Cajun thief is in there dressed to impress in a nice suit, sunglasses, with his longish auburn hair pulled back into a ponytail away from his face. The sometimes x-man currently has a gun pointed at him, ruby eyes moving behind the sunglasses to clock the 4 other guys robbing the place while the 5th keeps him there at gunpoint.

He looks to the guy with the gun, "Look, mon ami, I ain' got anything you want, jus' let me go and I won't trouble you none."
Jennifer Walters     With reports of customers still inside, the first black and white who rolled up is understandably hesitant to go in. Unforunately he pulled just enough to block the cross walk between the two blocks.

"Hey, mind the ramps!" She-Hulk calls as she leaps over the squad car. She had had to work a discrimination case recently, and the need for those sidewalk ramps was no joke!

She lands still in mid run and then nearly slides by the entrance to the shop before catching herself and poking her head in.

"The fire sale is /next/ week," she says before ducking down to step inside. A quick glance at the gunmen, and...some guy. Huh.
Remy LeBeau      Well if there is one way to cause a distraction, having a big, green, woman stick her head in would certainly be one of those ways. As She-Hulk sticks her head in and diverts the attention away from him, Remy decides that's as good a time as any to make a move.

The Cajun mutant pulls the toothpick from between his lips and sending a little power in it charges the little bit of wood for a second, enough for the toothpick to start to glow with a purple aura of energy before he tosses it straight down the barrel of the firearm pointed at his face.

As Remy throws the toothpick, he moves to dive behind the cover of one of the display cases. There is a small explosion as the toothpick explodes inside the barrel, causing the gun to follow suit and blow apart in the gunman's hand.
Jennifer Walters     At first, Jennifer's attention is focused on the other side of the room, so she all she hears is a bang and then catches the woman flying over the display case. "Shit," she says to herself as she charges forward, swatting the gunman closest to the door hard into the wall without even much of a thought.

"Hold on, hold on!" she says, barreling through the bewildered robbers, their attempt to steal jewelry ignored in favor of the man she can only assume hast just been shot.
Remy LeBeau      Whose been shot? Certainly not Remy. He's taken the momentary distraction, and subsequent screaming from the gunman, to retrieve his collapsible bo staff from the inner pocket of his coat, extending it with a press of a button in his left hand as he takes up a position on the other side of the display case.

"Merde, dis is not what I wanted to do today." The Cajun pops his head up and over the case to get a layout of what is going on, seeing She-Hulk heading over towards her target. "Non!" he calls out, "Git de robbers..." drawing attention to himself and ducking back down just avoiding the bullets that pepper the space around where his head just was.
Jennifer Walters     Seeing the man she /thought/ had been shot popping in gives Jennifer a bit of a pause, as does the arrival of his bo staff. But since the robbers have also seemed to catch onto him, and from his reaction his skin is not nearly as bullerproof as her own is, Jennifer turns her attention back to the crooks.

"Ok, fun time is over," she says, pivoting to lunge across the store, swatting the gun out of the hand of the one shooting at Remy. "I would say I know a pretty good defense attorney, but I think that'd be a conflict of interest right about now."
Remy LeBeau      Not having bullets flying over his head, Remy takes a moment to peek out over the case to make sure the coast is clear before he vaults over it, using the staff as a makeshift pole. He lands in a somersault, using the momentum and following through with the staff for the end to snap up and slam into the arms of the gunman drawing a bead on She-Hulk with a loud cracking sound, "Dat ain' no way to treat a lady, mon ami. Don' be goin' puttin' holes in expensive suits. Liable to make her angry, non?"
Jennifer Walters     As Remy makes an appearance, She-Hulk glances over towards him and laughs. "Yeah, and you wouldn't like me when I'm angry!" She turns and roars at the last of the gunmen, who cowers and holds his gun at arm's length as he hides behind his hand. She takes it and turns it into a lump of metal and plastic before dropping it at her feet.

She glances towards the door as the boys in blue show up. Now that all of them have been disarmed, of course.

"Nice work," she says, turning towards her not-a-victim-thank-god new friend."
Remy LeBeau      Remy takes a quick look around the store. Seeing that She-Hulk has taken out the last of the gunmen, the Cajun clicks the button on his staff to collapse it before stowing it away in his coat.

"Dat? Dat was easy," the cajun says with a chuckle as he reaches up and removes his sunglasses to reveal the black eyes with ruby-red irises. "At least when you compare it to going against Magneto or a Sentinel or somet'in'...not dat you would know anythin' 'bout dat." He shrugs his shoulder as he slips the sunglasses into the pocket of his jacket as he gives the layer a quick up and down, "Remy LeBeau," he greets as he offers his hand over briefly as he watches the boys in blue out of the corner of his eye. "Don' t'ink you need an introduction. Have to be blind not to know who you are."
