Emma Frost The bell would ring as Emma Frost would enter into Sherwood Florist, about a half hour before closing. Wearing something more casual than normal - a white business suit. Looking over at the displays. "I'm looking for something.. Unique." Such a flat, flat and vauge way of saying what she was after for whomever was available.
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance was humming softly as she was working on some of the dislays when she heard the door ding. Business is a bit slow this time close to closing so Dinah turns to face. she is wearing khakis and a simple green blouse with the emblem of Sherwood Florist on the breast (Robin Hood nocking a bow, but the arrows are red roses). "Welcome to Sherwood Florist... and what would be 'unique' to you?" she asks softly, looking over the woman in the impeccable white business suite. That is quite a getup for Gotham.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile over at Dinah, "Oh, a member of my board's mother just died. I want something particularly cheerful for the occasion. He did hate her with a passion." That particular combination might get a 'what' over from Dinah. The blonde going along as if she was completely unaware of Gotham.. Or that Gotham had taken one look at her and noped the f*** out.
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance blinks. "So... you want flowers to... CELEBRATE this woman's death?" she asks blankly, as she looks arond. "Well - since you appear to like the color white - maybe a white rose and orchid boquet to signify new beginnings?" she asks, eyebrow raised. "You seem famliar somehow..." She gestures towards some of the flowers on the refrigerated shelves.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Exactly. She was just one of those people that the world is much better without and hung on too long." Emma was rather blatant in that fact. "And his work is going to get much better so I have rather high hopes." Listening and nodding at Dinah while going to inspect them.
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance nods slowly. "Well... he'll be a better worker without her? A bit harsh, but I suppose not everyone has good parents." She nosd slowly. "Normally I'd suggest that as part of a wedding display but that's what I recommend for a new start - especially since you probably want white flowers." She gestures to the clothing.
Emma Frost That gets a bright smile from Emma. "Excellent." Not everyone had good parents. The expresison on her face suggesting she was one of them. If Dinah was the type to pay attention to the rag mags, then Emma herself was about as appreciated a woman as the one she was getting flowers to celebrate the passing of.
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance states, "How elaborate are we talking? Do you have an idea of size and complexity?" she asks, getting a book that has some sample pictures of such boquets and handing it over. She still can't shake the feeling that she has seen this woman before - maybe when she watches television at night. One of hte few modern things she indulges in - but she uses a retro TV with rabbit ears.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would consider for a few moments as Dinah would get out the book, scanning over the pictures. "Nothing too extravagant. I'll settle for a.. Half dozen." Her moving to flip through the pages to look at the different arrangements it had in it in consideration. "And I'll need them by tomorrow afternoon if that's possible."
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance nods. "Of course." She takes some notes and heads over to the register. "I will need your name and address please. I'll deliver them myself. I'm basically a one-woman show here. Business isn't strong enough for employees but I make do." She smiles as she gets out an order pad to write down the pertinent information.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Lovely. Emma Grace Frost." Handing over a business card and a credit card. With a diamond tag indicative of the line of credit authorized to it. "The old bat's funeral is tomorrow evening and I"m sure that the festivities will be in full swing right after."
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance widens her eyes. "You came a long way to get flowers..." she msues as she processes the order and gives the total. "I will ensure they are there by... three o'clock?" she asks, as she hands Emma her credit card back after running it - along with one of her own business cards. Can't hurt to have the word spread about her business, no?
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "I was already in the city on some other business and your establishment came highly recommended. It saved me quite a bit of time in having to go back to New York and then do it there." The charge is made.. Then Emma goes to pass along two bills to Dinah. Fresh, like they'd just been ironed and directly issued from a printing press. Bearing the pictures of Benjamin Franklin upon them.
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance widens her eyes at the $200 tip on an order not really in that ballpark, but wisely says nothing. "Thank you for your business. Anything else I can get for you? Maybe a fresh corsage?"
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Oh, unfortunately not. Unless you can put some toxins along the thorns for the next fundraiser I have to go to. Those charity events are exceedingly tedious."
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance smiles softly. "Unfortunately that's not my speciality. I might be able to get you in touch with Poison Ivy if that's really what you want - or are you just joking? It's a bit hard to tell." She hesitates, hoping you were joking and she doesn't actually have to go talk to Bruce about getting in touch with Ivy - that'd be a pain for little gain.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Oh? That's a rather unique contact to have. I might definitely take you up on that sometime. And poisoned flowers are somewhat gauche." A beat. But she had mentioned the THORNS were where she'd want the paralytics applied..
"But Idon't quite think that's the sort of thing you'd want to ask a friend to do for mere money."
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance nods. "Indeed not. I don't think my contact would appreciate such a thing. But I run a legitiamte business and don't do poison. It's just... not something I want to do. But best of luck with your future fundraiser."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Well, it's all depending on the cause. If we're gonig to be stuck there for five hours smiling and being blinded by cameras and dull presentations, then the least we can do is make the event memorable." She did seem like she might actually do such a thing.
"But, as you said, you're not that type of business and your contact wouldn't want to do that sort of thing. I'll look forwards to future purchases." That does notinvolve poisoned thorns.
Dinah Lance Dinah Lance nods. "I hope your employee enjoys the flowers," she states. "And the... freedom." She begins to process the order, going through a catalog to choose the vase. "And I will see you tomorrow afternoon."
