Kiden Nixon Kiden has decided that today is the day she goes exploring at the Roost! Generally, she just goes straight to whichever room she's doing a thing in (mostly training rooms or the rec room), and heads out when she's done. But today, she's going to find out ALL the rooms. Or, at least, all the rooms she has access to!

Starting at the entrance, Kiden is glancing around here and there, hands tucked into the (entirely too small) pockets on her jeans, making sure to wave for the cameras in case anyone is watching the feed. She's in casual clothes today, not even in her brand new super suit! Thrashed skinny jeans, a fitted t-shirt with a band logo splashed across the front, an oversized leather jacket, and some ratty high-tops. There's a streak of pink in her hair, too!

She hits the button for the elevator and does that thing where she rocks back and forth from heel to toe and back again, humming some pop song that was on the radio and wormed its way into her head.
Laura Kinney Ahhh exploring. Searching out all those places you'd never think to visit. There's probably a few places even Kiden wouldn't think to try and explore. Like where X-23 just happens to be right now. As the elevator starts up there's a tap tap tapping sound from above. Almost like someone is knocking on an apartment door.

On the other side of the ceiling hatch....

Ah yes. X-23 doesn't take the elevator when she wants to head between floors. She opens the doors up and climbs the ladder in the elevator shaft...

If anyone asks it's good exercise!

Just don't bring up the fully equipped gym they also have in the Roost.
Tim Drake The Roost.

Red Robin has put a great deal of effort into making this place a central hub for the Outsiders to rest, train, increase their knowledge, even live there if they so desired. But despite how much Tim has achieved, there's still so much more he wants to accomplish. Stepping through the 'lobby' of the Roost, Red Robin was adorned in his uniform as shades of red and black move like a shadow across the floor even if he's not intending to be fast or inherently stealthy.

His wrist computer is being operated, the holographic screen projecting a short ways in front of him as his fingers tap at keys and his eyes narrow. A pet project of his, seemingly trying to decode the next installment of Scarecrow's Fear Toxin.

His eyes shift towards Kiden, as though he wasn't initially aware she was there, or he had just thought of something. "Oh. Hey Flux. Where you going?" he asked in curiosity, though he hears the mild 'tapping' noise from above as the elevator starts up. "....." Tim narrows his eyes briefly, but says nothing about it.
Conner Kent Well, it is the Roost. They have bats, they have owls, they have clones, and some people hang out in the vent ducts instead the rec room. Because... reasons.

Not Conner, he has a perfectly normal room, and the rec room is fine too. Which is where he was hanging out with a laptop and another college paper. Graduation will be soon, meanwhile he is a busy, busy clone. But he still has time for friends when he hears the usual Roost noises. Happy Kiden, sneaky Laura and long-suffering Tim, who pays the bills. "Hey guys, what's up?" He comes down floating, looking for a five minutes break.
Kiden Nixon Turning partially, she lifts a hand in a wave towards Tim, flashing a quick smile, "Hey! You're not in the vents! I think this is the first time I've seen you fully upright." She motions to the elevator, "Going exploring. I know how to get to the gym, the training rooms, and the rec room... but I haven't really seen much else of the Roost."

The sound of SOMEONE in the vents has her looking upward, "Hello? Tap once if you're okay, tap twice if you're stuck and need help!" Because vents are dangerous places!

THen there's a Conner and her face lights up, "Hey! I was gonna go exploring around the Roost. And look, there's a fully visible and upright Red Robin! Wanna come along on the exploration?"
Laura Kinney There's a snort of amusement from up above. Practically a chortle. X-23 /stuck in a vent/? She can't even imagine it.

The panel opens and Laura practically flows out like she's a liquid. A mutant slinky. Somehow she even manages to close the panel behind her in the same motion as she drops down. Her landing quiet enough you'd need super hearing to notice it.

"I can get through ducts half that size," she says solemnly. "And while avoiding a laser grid." A beats pause. "How is everyone? Well I hope?"
Tim Drake "Not this time. I'm doing some studying." Tim says to Kiden with a look best described as amusement written on his features. He can stonewall his expression with the best of them, but with his Outsider companions, he tends to let his mask drop just a little. *a little*. "Besides, I figure a change of pace is good. Just got back from patrol not too long ago. As usual, events are transpiring in this city at an exponential rate." He tilts his head at her as she questions the sound of whomever is moving if they could communicate via tapping.

Conner's arrival earns a small smirk. "Hey SB. Not a lot, just seeing what's going on. What's up with you? I think Flux here is trying to get an idea of what's in the Roost. Guess I did a poor job not giving the tour."

Though Laura's official arrival makes him smirk a little bit just as much. "Yes. You can. That's what's worrying to plenty of people. How're you, Laura? I'm doing fine."
Conner Kent "All is great, I am graduating in few days," replies Conner, which might be a little stressed for the first time in years. "But I got this; technically I have already done it. I got all the credits and stuff." But of course, he has papers and essays to send, for extra credit! And recommendations. He might also need a job if he is going to keep living like a normal human.

"Eh, it was my fault Kiden didn't get the full tour, I guess," after all, he brought her to the team. But he showed her all the interesting parts of the Roost. Not the vents.
Kiden Nixon Lifting a brow as Laura slithers out of the vents, Kiden chuckles, "And had I known it was you in the vents, I wouldn't have said anything. But I think you forget I don't have super senses or crazy high tech at my fingertips... I have one power, and otherwise I'm as human as human gets." There's a wink to back up the words, then the elevator dings as it arrives and she motions to it, "Anyone else coming?"

Glancing back to Conner and Tim as she heads for the elevator car, she offers up, "Nobody 'failed' at anything, I'm just exploring now that I feel comfortable doing so! I've been here for awhile now, I had my birthday here, I got my very own supersuit... still squeeing over that by the way! ...so I figure its time to explore the Roost!"
Laura Kinney "I work hard so my enemies will fear me," Laura says, her expression deadpan. Probably this is a joke. Probably. "As for how I am... Satisfactory. I was able to locate and destroy a sample of what may have been trigger scent. Although the source was... dubious. It could have been faked."

She shrugs. It's better destroyed regardless!

There's a nod to Kiden. "You can probably safely assume anyone in the vents here is an expert at being in vents. And it's good practise if you ever go caving. Which is a great way to spend a day if you ever fancy a non-crime fighting activity day." She gives Conner a smile. "Congratulations. Are you thinking about taking your education beyond a college degree?"
Tim Drake Tim looks at Conner, approval written on his face even if it's a bit more serious. "Congratulations. I mean it, you've worked hard to earn that degree. Let me know if you need any help with recommendations and stuff like that. I think I can put in a good word." Tim tells Conner, lifting his hand to rest it - very briefly - on Conner's shoulder in support, if the half-Kryptonian would allow the contact. "Maybe, but it's my fault I didn't check."

It's a war of faults!

"Can't believe you didn't show her the ventilation system. I worked hard on that." He jokes, turning his eyes to look at Kiden in that moment. "Better to have one power you're extremely good at then five that you're kind of okay with. Just means you specialize." He suggests, his eyes moving to rest on Laura in that moment. "Hm. Fascinating. If you want, I can follow up on that with you, see if we can track down any more, or at least test legitimacy." As for exploring the Roost? Robin shrugs. "Might just leave you to that, Flux."
Conner Kent "No, I went to college because I wanted to do something normal for once," replies Conner, peering at Laura. Maybe daring her to try. He follows Kiden into the elevator, too. "But college is expensive, so I have spent all the cash I had saved from my previous, uh... high profile hero-celebrity time." Which was fun, but also stupid at times. Okay, stupid most of the time.

"Yeah, I am sure you own a newspaper or three, maybe a TV station too, but no... I want to try myself. I mean, if I am going to be a reporter, I have to learn to do it. Not that I am not going to use... some advantages I have to drag things into light that the people need to see," he grins. Fortunately he can't starve while he has sunlight. And sunlight is free. Which won't be for long if Luthor keeps the presidency.

"Also, I am quite sure there are secret passageways and exits we have yet to find even after three years," he offers Kiden. "Keep exploring and let us know."

Yes, he also believes Tim designed the ventilation vents for sneaking. Totally logical bat-stuff.
Kiden Nixon Leaning up to drop a kiss to Conner's cheek, she smiles, "You'll get there. I have all the faith. And until then, I still make a good salary, especially if you count the sidegig." Kiden steps into the elevator, keeping the door open with one foot as she offers a quick smile towards Laura and Tim.

"Making that assumption is SO much less amusing, though! I can't make jokes about the skill and efficiency of everyone's ability to crawl through vents!" Turning up the smile to a grin, she winks at Laura, "I'll leave the caves to the bats, they're adorable and shouldn't have their roosting places disrupted. But we can go rock climbing if you want! I'm totally down for that."

Nodding to Tim, she ticks off a salute, "You can show me next time! This time I'm going to wander halls and elevators at normal person speed. And I love my power! Best power ever, for me. And okay! You guys enjoy the lobby, maybe I'll catch up in one of the other rooms!" Pulling her foot back, she lets the door slide shut while she leans into Conner.
Laura Kinney "Free climbing buildings is cheaper," Laura points out innocently. As if she wasn't going to pick Gothams tallest skyscraper or something equally nightmarish. "But sure we can leave a note in the Roost. See if anyone else wants to join us. Make a team outing of it." She looks over at Conner. "You should be able to hear the air moving between the walls with your super hearing."

Half the fun of a secret base is finding the secrets!

"Oh the sample in question was destroyed with thermite. And the source seems to have some kind of dimensional portal tech. But if I need further assistance I promise not to go investigate by myself." Unless it's much quicker. Or she feels like it. "If you do find any clues online though Tim please do let me know."
