Cain Marko Mutant Town. Famed for its minority congregation of the children of the atom. Famed for numerous disruptions and threats to their safety. Famed for the suffering of its inhabitants at the hands of others that would do all mutant kind harm.

So, needless to say, it's in shambles again.

A good portion of the area lies stricken in rubble and ruin. Collapsed buildings, broken streets, shattered storefronts and many, many caution tapes criss crossing the area along with chalk outlines of where the fallen once were. It's been a handful of days since the attack of the wild sentinels here during the protests that were taking place in light of the use of a Sentinel at the Starport ... and the locales are still reeling.

Cain Marko is -not- a local. But he does stand out. A monstrously huge main, dressed casually in spring wear that hugs his gigantic body and leaves no guessing that the sheer bulk on display is unrefined massive muscle. Even among mutants, he's a physical sight...and he's -not- a mutant. Just big. Really big.

Right now, the imposing man is standing infront of a collapsed building that was once a local bar. Seated on a pile of rubble is a blue skinned and horned gentlamn with glasses, middle aged, a mutant of probably very minor ability. The two converse lightly as attempts at sweeping up the glass and rubble and remaining Sentinel parts goes on around them.
Tekkai The Sentinel attack had gotten some attention. Having heard about it a bit, Shun had decided to go see. Arguably in his mutant form.

The problem with it is that he's not used to people not staring at him. Which is what has him looking about oddly. As well as trying to help a little here and there.

He's not faced a Sentinel before, so has found himself standing and looking at parts on occasion. Looking at them and staring. Before moving on. The wandering had come to an end as he found his non-mutant sense active. And a good deal 'mystic stuff that way' going on in his head.

Being what he is, though, he decided to go and look which is why there's now an apparent teenager that looks like his mutation is just bug related walking over towards the former bar, looking around before looking well... up at Cain.
Cain Marko Imagine seeing a mountain range on a flat plane. The presence of THe Juggernaut is akin to that to mystic senses. An Olympus Mons appearing in Kansas. There's something wildly powerful and even if Tekkai can't exactly understand what it is the closer he gets towards Cain the more prevelant it becomes. And why not? He's the Exemplar of Physical Power. The Avatar of a primordial force of destruction. Ye Olde Detect Magic is going to go haywire around him.

But he seems oblivious to this all and for all his immense figure, seems fairly normal. No 'Gozer the Gozarian' going on here.

"Yeah, sorry about that. Here. For my part. I kinda brought the rest of the wall down when I came out. Wasn't trying to but you know..." THe huge man hands a roll of blls to the thankful bar owner. "Should hold ya over for abit. I know how slow they are to get help down to these parts... Don't you go telling everybody I just did this though. I got a big bad rep to maintain."

That last part is said mildly sarcastic but with Cain..you never know.

The giant man then turns slightly and blinks upon seeing Tekkai just looking at him silently.
Tekkai That he's been noticed has Tekkai raising a hand a bit, "Um... hi. Sorry. I was just looking at all the magic. That is a lot, by the way."

Well at least he is explaining himself! Tekkai lowers his hand a bit quickly. "Ah... yeah, sorry for staring?"

He looks to the old man, "Ah, you need any help with clean up while I am here?"
Cain Marko On the one hand - it is Mutant Town - so some abilities such as the capacity to sense other beings of signfiigant might isn't out of the question. There are wild assortments of mutations wandering about. Most are minor and fairly benign but occasionally something more esoteric pops up.

On the other hand, magic and things to do with that are still very very rare ...and at being so called at, Cain's eyes narrow slightly in a mix of confusion and concern and also a mild touch of annoyance. His ice blue eyes squint abit as his expression becomes more stern.

But before he can say anything the older mutant speaks up:

"I appreciate the offer of help, son. Ther'es not really a whole lot I expect you can do though so don't feel obligated. If anything we can get this glass cleaned up. But no pressure. It'll be awhile before we're ready to open."

"...Yeah. Rubbles pretty big." Cain chimes in finally, letting that conversation take the lead. "It's too messy. Damage Control's going to need to get this all cleaned up."
Tekkai The young mutant nods a few times. "Ok. Sorry I can not help more than that. Do you have a spare broom on hand?"

Of course, Tekkai can't help but glance at Cain every so often. Big guy and magic... yep. The sternness of his expression has him looking guilty.

In the mean time, he starts to look for the larger pieces of glass to pick up. Which seems to be fine as he doesn't even cut himself while doing so. Or if it is, it's not effecting him by the looks of it.
Cain Marko The guilty expression seems to do enough and the brutes colder exterior is broken a touch.

But just a touch. This is Cain after all. He's not exactly the warmest guy around. But he is social.

"It's fine kid, it's fine." he notes while making an absent gesture. "It's just....that's not the sorta thing you go around blurting out loud. I didn't want anybody to know that per se but...no harm done."

He gives meaningful glance to the bar owner who nods, though now with a slight bit of nervousness. He remains silent however and after providing a broom for Tekkai, retreats to do more work in the bar interior.

"Some folk mighta overheard you and put some things together I don't want put together and then we woulda had a problem." explains Cain, looking back to the young mutant. "You some sort of magic user?"
Tekkai A nod is given, as Tekkai accepts the broom and starts to sweep the glass up.

He sighs, keeping his voice a bit lower, "Yes, and I am a bit... um... new to it? Seriously, mom's been teaching me 'cause I got into her books and got curious."

He looks up at the big man, "I, ah, assumed you might be like me. Mutant and well... yeah."

He reaches down to pick up a bit of a bigger piece and toss it off to a pile. He shrugs, "If they have, well, I'm not well known or anything. Could be seeing auras or whatever other psychic stuff, I guess? I mean, you are pretty big and all. Probably upsets all kinds of stuff I could say I see."
Cain Marko "Eh? It's just that I aint exactly the most 'legal' guy around is all and got folk that'd love to cause a ruckus with me. OF course...they're welcome to..but no I'm not a mutant. I seem to keep getting wrapped up in mutant business though but I guess that's cause o'family.."

Cain snorts softly at that, his mild annoyance briefly going form a six to an eight at that. Whoever 'family' is...there's probably bad blood.
"Anyway ..I'll say this much at least... If you're 'new' to this...well.. Nobody knows where those wild sentinels came from and lots of folk got hurt so just watch your back."

He shrugs lightly, slipping his hands into his pockets as he mutters, "Tough break..."
Tekkai The young mutant gives a couple nods, "I hope not to. I don't stay here, so I'm going to try to be careful getting back home, too, sir."

"Ah... I go by Tekkai. I... erm... don't think I caught your name? And hey, legal and all isn't all it's cracked up to be. Especially if you are just trying to make it and stuff." He says.

Moving over to another spot, he starts to sweep more glass up. "I mean, shoot, only reason I do it is 'cause of the whole Battle of New York and seeing what happened."
Cain Marko "I didn't give it. That's why you didn't catch it." remarks the bruiser as he slips a pair of sunglasses on.

After a moment, he sighs abit and shakes his head. He's no reason to be brusque and mean to this kid.

"Cain." he says, tone softening a touch more.

"And the type of 'not legal' I'm referring to isn't probably the same as what you're talking about. I get into some things that's....well..not worth telling you about really. You got your own thins to worry about. Not looking for justification just telling you how it is."

He watches him as he helps , himself not moving to lift much of anything fo ranyone just yet though large pieces of rubble are strewn about and some large piles have been emerging.

"Where's home then?"
Tekkai A shrug is given, "I'm... not really asking what it is you get up to. That much power? Yeah, you just don't ask usually."

"Ah, home's on the west side of New York. Rather not tell. Much as my parents are able to defend themselves? Yeah, rather not have trouble come knocking just because I decided to come help with the clean up." Tekkai says.

"I mean, good intentions and all, but like you said those were some wild killer robots that attacked here, right?" He smiles up at Cain. "Definitely good to know that someone put them down, though."
Cain Marko "You mentioned it so I thought I'd ask. No skin off my back. I aint askin' so I can drop by for Thanksgiving or something. Anyway, smart thinking but you should know that Sentinels have special detection tech for spotting the mutant gene. So....sorry to say that it doesn't matter where you're at. It just so happened that what happend 'ere was because there was a large gathering of them during the protest of the sentinel appearing at the starport."

He seems to sure know alot about how they work.

Cain shrugs, resting a hand upon his hips as he looks around, "The X-Men showed up and The Brotherhood of Mutants. Woulda been worse without 'em. Gotta give credit where it's due.."
Tekkai That has Tekkai blinking a few times, "Wow. Good to know. Well, I think I got most of this cleaned up for the old guy... don't suppose there's like a dumpster or something for me to toss it in?"

He looks around for one, but seeing all the rubble and stuff looks up at Cain, "Right... disaster area."

He shrugs, "So, guess I better be going. Kinda late, and wanna get home so mom and dad don't come looking for me and all."
Cain Marko "Not tryign to scare you but you did come wandering all the way over here and away from the safety of your home."

Cain adjusts his glasses and starts to turn, "Just leave it where it is, yeah. See ya around kid."

WIth that he turns and starts headinga way, stepping heavily into the streets.

As he passes by a car smashed by a large chunk of rubble, he reaches out and shoves, pushing the large debris off and sending it rolling with earth shaking force towards one of the rubble piles, continuing on his way without halting as he does.
