Conner Kent Closed for Reforms. The Castle has been closed for months now, as the never-ending quest to make it a better tourist magnet goes on and on. Interrupted by the usual New York City shenanigans. It has been a super-villains lair like five times in ten years. Says so in the pamphlets.

There are always pamphlets, even when the castle is closed.

That doesn't mean it is empty. Although the construction crews are not around, a young man wearing red jeans, a battered black leather jacket, and a red S on a black t-shirt, is here.

Because he just crashed. He left a nice man-shaped indent on the ground. It has been one of those days. And it is a miracle his Starkphone still works. A device he is using now, typing on it furiously.
Negasonic Yet another is about, a teenager of distinctly gothic persuasion, multitudes of piercings, black leathers and all. Ellie is in a particularly glum mood, which has been her primary mood for several months now, if not longer. Pondering meandering thoughts about the castle seemed like a perfect pastime. Imagining herself the Mistress of such a castle in olden days, putting death all who deserve, and by her account so many do. She also has a Starkphone, though her thumb sails about it without her even looking at the screen. That's how professional she is, as she shoots out a tweet, #IfIWereAQueen #OffWithTheirHeads #AllTheirHeads. A good self to be sure.
Conner Kent Wait, Conner is not alone? The castle is supposed to be closed and some(else) snuck in. To be honest, crashing is not the same as sneaking. He was still not in a hurry to leave, and the guard on duty is in his lunch break. Conner can hear him eating loudly at the other side of the castle.

So, he should be the good citizen that tells the intruder to leave? He was having a conversation here! Sometimes it is a hard work to be a superhero. Still, he stomps towards Ellie's position, expecting some kind of evildoer. He is still hoping to fight Doctor Octopus at some point.

But nope. It is just a gothic girl. "Hey, you know the place is closed, right?" He asks, trying to get the dust off his jacket with a hand. Mostly failing.
Negasonic Unfortunately for Conner, there's no evildoer, unless you consider a teen working on her instagram portfolio evil, because she's clearly not invested in much more than the selfie she was just taking. "Is it...?" Ellie asks without flinching, as she slowly turns to look at Conner, squinting a bit, looking at the very obvious emblem on his shirt, and then asking "you're Superboy...aren't you? The Mini-Superman?"
Conner Kent "Right," confirms Conner, stepping closer and giving Ellie a once over. Then he shrugs. "There are placards everywhere," he points out. "And a security guard having lunch back there, so if I were you..." he makes a brief calculation. "Actually you might have fifteen minutes or so. Then he will try to fine you or something."

How does he know about the fines? Better not to ask.
Negasonic "Okay..." Ellie doesn't refute Conner's point, looking at him as if she's confused by what he's trying to say. "Uh huh..., cool, I'll say hi to him if he comes around." She assures Conner. "I don't think he gives any fucks about me, I'm not that interesting. So you being Superboy, hero that you are, figure you can get me a quick flight outta here before the big bad cop comes to take me to jail?" Ellie asks as if that was the most obvious solution.
Conner Kent "Yeah... technically? Really shouldn't help people escape the cops," he points out with a faint smirk, "or rent-a-cop, I guess." Still, the guard would be doing his job kicking Ellie out of the castle. Guy has to eat and all that.

"You aren't that interesting, are you? Why are you here anyway?" He asks, moving past the young woman to look at Central Park beyond.
Negasonic "Escape...? The cops...? For what? The same thing you're doing?" Ellie asks, preplexed, "that doesn't sound right, does it, Superboy?" She snorts at the question, "I could ask the same of you, would you answer it truthfully?"
Conner Kent "Well... did you crash here from a couple miles up?" Asks Conner, smirking again. He expects it is a rhetorical question. That is his excuse. "But yeah, I shouldn't be here either now I have recovered. I can fly away before the guard comes, I could also just..." he gestures vaguely forward. "Just walk away," like Ellie can too.

To be noted, he is not doing either right now. Not a model citizen, don't tell Superman. "So, what about you?"
Negasonic "Maybe I did, you don't know," Ellie answers dryly, a rather deadpan expression on her face. "Yeah, I guess I can do the same, but would be nice of you to...you know, offer me a lift, seeing how you're a hero and everything."
Conner Kent Conner tilts his head, giving Ellie an amused look. "Hell. Sure, why not?" He shakes his head. "Where do you want to go?" It is not the doesn't give 'lifts' to girls pretty often, but Ellie's whole super-Goth setup was perhaps giving him the wrong message.

Or maybe she just wants a free taxi service. Conner is a sucker sometimes (mostly when women are involved).
Negasonic "Thanks, you're pretty cool for a big shot," Ellie remarks, "either place in Manhattan by a Subway, or Salem, Westchester will do perfectly," she says with a smile, putting her phone away for once.
