Black Adam Abrax Hassan is a figure of relative unknown status. Not just across the world, but even in his home country of Kahndaq. Hell, the only reason someone //might// know of him is if they keep a razor close eye on the news. Squirrelled away in the international section is a small article detailing about how Abrax fled the country, seeking asylum in the United States of America. Only after he was granted entry was it discovered that he robbed a local jeweller back in Kahndaq - ensuring that the process of getting him back home and charged by the local government was a difficult, complicated and long one.

That simply won't do. At least as far as Teth-Adam is concerned. Still on his conquest to reclaim rulership of his country, Teth had taken it upon himself to find this man and simply fly him back to the country himself. He was a tool, in a way. A tool that could cut through all of the messy red tape and get results for his country.

Fortunately, Abrax isn't a difficult person to find. Given he was ordered to stay in the one township until the paperwork for his extradition could be formalised, and said town is a small one in rural America, it wasn't exactly like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Like a thunderbolt dropping in from the sky, Black Adam arrives in front of the would-be criminal with a stern look on his face. In his black suit with gold lightning bolt, Black Adam scowls as he approaches Abrax - who, perhaps knowing who Adam is? Turns and runs! "Abrax," Adam booms after him. "...you have committed a great sin upon your home in Kahndaq. I'm here to take you back so you will face justice."

Naturally, others around stop and gawk. Someone even starts to film the thing live, uploading it through various social media channels.
Freddy Freeman     Unable to vote and all, Freddy isn't too into politics, especially the international kind. He would rather spend the abundance of his summer free time keeping tabs on the Avengers or reading the latest studies on the superhuman, buuuut Kahndaq is ruled not only by a 'super' but by one that the Wizard Shazam warned him and his foster siblings about. As a result, he tries to keep his finger on the pulse of the small nation's affairs.

So when the immortal dictator makes an internet appearance in the states via his Twitter live feed, Freddy groans but hops up (grabbing his crutch) from the desk of his shared bedroom in Queens and makes some half-assed excuse about wanting to take a walk. The clear skies are momentarily shattered by a flashing lightning bolt and a cry of 'Shazam!'.

    Moments later.

"Hey!" A young man clad in blue, red and gold, blurs in front of Abrax. He wears the mark of a Champion, a golden lightning bolt at his chest. "You can't be here. Like, legally." Space was acceptable, but in the middle of the US? It's not much of a shield, but maybe a head of states cares about such things?
Black Adam Black Adam stops in his step and widens his eyes in earnest surprise when Freddy makes his arrival. He had met Mary before, that is true, and he had even heard of her brother in Billy. But this? This is... someone new. Yet clearly someone endowed by the powers of the Wizard, given the colour scheme and design patterns. "...how many Champions must there //be// in this era for you to be effective? Tch. You share and flaunt this power to those who are unworthy." The scowl hardens, especially when he details about the legal requirements of being in this country. "Move aside, boy. You are dealing with matters you have no knowledge about. This man committed crimes in my home country. In HIS home country. As is law, he will be punished." The words of Adam are tough and stern, his weathered, hardened expression piercing straight into Freddy's gaze, unphased.

Abrax meanwhile is still hauling ass, huffing and puffing as he flees the scene and back into the town square proper. Seems he's very keen to get as lost as he possibly can.

"I won't tell you again." Adam continues. "//Move aside//. Or face the consequences."
Freddy Freeman     "Weellll, considering the last time there was one Champion, he went on a crazy, wrath-fuelled killing spree, I think it's pretty smart of the Wizard to spread the love a bit. Checks and balances, right?" Pantheon is a striking sight, leaner than the OG Shazam, but still gleaming gold. His crimson cape flutters behind him. "There's five of us, by the way. Just so you know. Pretty sure one of them is on a date right now, but if we were all together, there'd be no contest."

Committed crimes? That knowledge didn't filter through Twitter. It's not nearly as interesting as Black Adam's presence. Pantheon frowns, looking back at the fleeing Abrax. "What sort of crimes? And what sort of punishments?" Hazel eyes narrow.

He does not move aside. The Courage of Achilles flows through his veins.
Black Adam "Yet the Wizard is dead." Black Adam confirms. "His corpse is naught by dust. You have been gifted this power not by him, but by some //child//. Some child that does not know what to do." The revelation that there are indeed FIVE OF THEM would probably knock his socks off. Were he wearing any, anyway. For the moment he just stares at Freddy in an incredulous manner. "You have power. You have speed. But you do not the strength nor the conviction to do what must be done. No experience. No heart. No courage. I wager that is the same with all of you." Adam scowls again.

"He robbed a local business man of his fine wares. And his punishment? Hrnnh. If I had a part of it, he would be removed of his arms so that he could not pick up anything ever again. However, the justices given out seem to be... different in this era." A slow, twisted sort of smile forms across his face. "Maybe I can still petition for a finger or two to be removed."

Given that Pantheon isn't moving however, Adam moves to engage. "You were given fair warning, child. You have mistaken courage for foolishness!" And with that, Adam brings his hands together to CLAP loudly. A booming thunderclap echoes out from his person, sending a mighty shockwave out and around him like a ripple in water. Freddy, should he not move, is right in the blast range! Dust and debris goes flying from around his person, indicating just how strong the shockwave is. BOOM!
Freddy Freeman     "That -child- was trusted with the ability by the Wizard because of the pureness of his heart. And because we're family, he gave them to us!" The implication strikes at the core of one of Freddy's nerves. The only validation he has that he's worthy of these powers is a fifteen-year-old boy who's more than a little biased towards this era's current champions. There's actually six of them, but the moment's charged, and Pedro can be really quiet sometimes.

The signature move interrupts whatever argument could've come next, drowning Pantheon's figure in a thick cloud of stone and dirt and rattling the hero's eardrums. A moment later, he surges upward, breaking through the duststorm and setting his sight on Abrax who is hopefully far enough away that he wasn't directly in the way.

"All of this fuss because he stole something? Don't you have bigger things to worry about than some fugitive trying to make a better life for themselves?" He lunges at Adam, fists aimed at his midsection with titanic strength.
Black Adam Abrax is indeed far away at this point, well clear of the shockwave and any damage it causes. The crook has slowed in his run, but is still going! For the moment he is as safe as can be.

"You meddle with affairs that do not concern you, boy." Adam grumbles as Freddy comes at him. "Serving my country is the only thing I concern myself with. Kahndaq will once again become the jewell of the Earth!"

It's been a long time since Adam had been struck with such titanic strength. A long, LONG time. He had almost forgotten what pain felt like as it rushes through his nervous system when the leaner Champion strikes him squarely in the gut.

KRA-KOOOOM! The sound of the strike echoes far and wide. The person videoing this for social media squeals in fright, moving to hide behind a tree.

Truthfully, given Freddy's leaner physique and the fact that there are several Champions, Adam had guessed that the strength of his foe would be lesser than it is. That mistake comes to roost as Adam hurtles backwards, skipping like a stone on water on the duty road a good hundred meters or so. Orientating himself and skidding to a halt, Adam growls. "RARGHH!" Zooming forward, he closes the distance between the two in moments, before sending a hard uppercut into Freddy's chin to hopefully send him skyward. If successful he will then take to the skies, hoping to chase down Abrax.
Freddy Freeman     It felt good to truly reach the upper threshold of the strength bestowed upon him. A superhero career of mostly dealing with bank robbers (not by ripping their arms off), muggers, costumed goons, and other low-level criminals have conditioned him to hold back his power instinctively lest he becomes like the man he faces currently. Teth could take it, though, and apparently return the favor in kind.

The blow catches Pantheon's jaw, sending her tumbling wildly into the air, but he rights himself quickly, prepared for a follow-up. "OW!"

Okay, so he isn't really used to be attacked with that kind of force either. It's a new fresh pain, and one he never expected to experience in this body.

More comfortable in the skies than grounded, the younger Champion soars higher than Adam, before coming in low and crashing into the man with earth-shattering force. Then? Abrax.

If he can catch up to the man, he might have a better chance of saving him. Or dooming him. Either way, he has to try.
Black Adam Pantheon comes down upon Black Adam with his mighty strength, crashing into his back and sending him back into the ground. Cratering into the dirt road and causing a thundering BOOM that shakes the immediate vicinity, Adam appears to remain laying there for a brief moment. It was a damned good hit. Knocked out, perhaps? It's only after Freddy flies off does the ex-Champion slowly get to his feet, dust and dirt clods falling off his body as he stands. Lifting a hand, he wipes away a trickle of blood that leaks from the corner of his mouth. Looking at the crimson stain on his hand, Adam clenches his fist tightly. Taking a steady breath to try and calm himself, he feels the rage boiling from within. "Nnghhh..."

In the interim of this happening, Freddy is indeed able to locate Abrax. With all the commotion going on, the residents of this town think some sort of earthquake is afoot, so they have all fled into their homes. Abrax is the only guy still out, running and panting in the middle of the town square a good mile or so away from where Adam currently stands and recovers.
Freddy Freeman     In midflight, Pantheon wordlessly catches Abrax and zips around the town until he finds a vacant (or mostly vacant, he's a little desperate) home to stash the man into. If there are indeed occupants, he brings a finger to his lips and addresses Abrax and them. "Shhhh, just stay calm and don't make any noise. You'll be safe, just stay here until I give the signal."

Red, blue, and gold streaks out of the house and into the air high above the town, so Teth-Adam sees the Champion. Arms crossed over his chest, his face is marked by a cocky grin despite the bruises forming.

"Couldn't find him...looks like your guy ran off, so you can go home now." Beat. "Or are you really going to barge into the homes of all these innocent folks looking for one man?"
Black Adam Black Adam looks up at Freddy when he re-appears above him, the ex-Champion slowly rising into the air himself. Compared to Pantheon, Black Adam is an imposing figure. Not just in muscle mass, but in height. Adam uses every ounce of this size advantage to LEEEER at his enemy to hopefully impose some sort of mental advantage. That cocky grin which Freddy harbours just furthers his frustration! "You must think I'm quite the fool." The remark is snarled upon as he spits away the final bit of blood that had pooled in his mouth. "To believe that I would stop after travelling here. You have knowingly endangered innocent citizens by hiding a known criminal in one of their homes." Raising his hand, Adam turns to look down at one of the houses.

"Here's what's going to happen. You are going to get Abrax out from where-ever you hid him. Until you do, I am going to systematically destroy every house down there until none are left." As he says this, his hand charges with raw magical power. It courses with electricity and lightning in a threatening position. "And to prove to you I'm not bluffing?" FWOOSH! Like Zeus himself, Adam throws down a bolt of magical lightning from his palm! It zooms down through the air at a great speed, threatening to destroy the home it targets outright.
Freddy Freeman     That sort of mental domination that comes through posturing isn't really going to affect Pantheon, though there's a stubborn look on his features when Adam doesn't seem to back down when confronted with his very clever plan. And when he threatens to harm the people of this town? Freddy's face is struck by absolute horror. "You --you can't do that! You wouldn't!" After all, he came all this way in pursuit of justice, however misguided it might be.

Then, divine lightning is summoned and hurled at one of the homes, and Pantheon has to summon every bit of his blessed speed to reach it in time. Even then, the bolt crashes directly into his chest and sends him spinning haphazardly into the backyard.

Groaning, he struggles to his feet, costume scorched black. "How dare you! You claim to stand for justice, but you're willing to see this entire town dead for a single thief!" Freddy bellows, angry in a way that he resisted even as he was being pummeled. "I won't stand for it!" And in a blur, he's ready to face Adam again, the two Champions exchanging colossal blows.

Honestly, the fight alone could ruin the town if Freddy isn't careful.
Black Adam "No, child. //You// are the one who put these people into harms way. //You// are the ones that involved them! Had you merely stepped aside, ALL of this could have been avoided! You are naught but a young boy, aren't you? Trying to be a Champion with powers you cannot even begin to grasp!"

The engagement between the pair is hard-fought. The pair exchange in terrific, thundering blows above the country town. Spectators below emerge from their houses when they realise that no earthquake is happening, keen to watch the combat as best they can with utter fascination. Sometimes the two are two fast to even see, but other times they are right //there// in the sky. Punch after punch is made. Kick after kick after punch after kick. Their battle ranges from the skies to space itself, as Adam is struck by a mighty uppercut that sends him up into the atmosphere, before being struck back down into orbit by a fast moving Freddy Freeman.

As the minutes progress though, Black Adam appears to develop a growing advantage. Unlike the modern Champions, Black Adam is not new to this caper. His decades of fighting experience perhaps begin to show, his refined martial techniques from a millennium ago slowly wearing the righteous Champion down. His blows aren't wild swings made in anger, but calculated strikes aimed to slowly yet surely render the bright coloured hero disabled. Strikes to the temple to dizzy Pantheon, for instance. Strikes to the nose to break it and make it hard to breathe. One particular strike sends Pantheon down into an empty barn, collapsing it around him. Only moments later Adam is there, his hand grasped around Freddy's neck tightly. Naturally, Black Adam has not escaped damage here. His right eye is a bright red, the vessels within damaged and burst. Blood flows and oozes from multiple wounds on his body. His suit is torn and ripped, with multiple bruises forming across his skin. A tooth might even be missing!

"You are beaten." Adam growls, raising Freddy into the air with that hand grasped around his neck. "You fought well, young Champion. Better than I expected." There is truth to his tone, as if some semblance of respect had been gained. "But you cannot defeat experience. Not on your own. Now. If you tell me of Abrax's location, I can promise you he will receive a fair hearing in Kahndaq. Tell me and you will live."

As the pair remain there in the ruins of the barn, Abrax himself makes himself known. He comes jogging into the scene, waving his hands. "Mighty Adam! I surrender! I surrender! Just... do not damage the people here anymore! I will come with you!"
Freddy Freeman     The Wizard's gifts are not felt uniformly, and Pantheon was about to find that out the hard way. While certain members of the Shazamily might be faster or stronger or wiser, Freddy thrives in flight, graceful and intuitive as if he was born to fly. He can maneuver and stop at any speed in any direction. And he's a fast flier. Very fast. That's all well and good for controlling the impact of the fight by keeping the battle mostly in the air and therefore centralizing the damage (mostly) away from the town.

Doesn't help so much when he's being punched in the face. And kicked. His combat technique is a hodgepodge of moves he's seen on T.V. from the likes of Wonder Woman and Captain America. Against a thug, it works out fine. Against a man with centuries of experience? He crashes into the barn and isn't even sure he can get up. He looks like hell. his hair a mess, his face bloodied, his cape shredded and barely hanging on. "Oh jeez..."

He attempts to continue, finding the stamina to push himself to his feet, but then Adam is on him once again, fingers gripped around his throat. It's clear he's actually contemplating the offer. But no. "Fair hearing...you don't inspire confidence, Adam." Eyes blown wide, he glances at Abrax and shouts, "No! What are you doing?!? What about a demolished barn reads as a signal!?!"
Black Adam "I have proven my convictions to you today, boy. You should heed what I say." Black Adam is a lot like Freddy in that he's... well, surprised by this recent development of Abrax's arrival. For a moment he thinks he's getting duped somehow, but it the revelation does appear to be earnest. "I cannot run from him forever!" Abrax realises to Freddy, dropping to his knees in a praying sort of formation before them. "I exchange myself for the hero, Mighty Adam. Let us go back home. Leave the boy to live and fight another day."

Black Adam looks to the beaten Freddy in his iron grip, staring at him still. "I had hoped you would have been more alike the woman in your group, child. But you appear to have a great deal to learn." With a hard discard, Adam THROWS Freddy into the ground hard, as if to further damage him and render him even more injured. "Fortunately for you, this man has made the choice you could not."

Stepping towards Abrax, Black Adam grasps the criminal roughly by the collar, before throwing him over his shoulder. With a parting glance to Pantheon, Black Adam then takes to the sky, zooming off to begin the flight back to his own country.
Freddy Freeman     "Mighty Adam...don't call him that, you dork," Pantheon mumbles and deflates, dazed. He knows he's beaten. There's no chance he can stop Adam from taking Abrax when the latter doesn't even want to be saved.

Discarded, the hero offers no retort to Adam's chiding. He lays there for long moments after the dictator soars away and remains motionless still when the townspeople gather around the barn to examine the wreckage.

Without a word, Freddy struggles to his feet and flies back home.
