Mary Jane Watson It's been a few days since Mary Jane Watson aka Red Sonja aka Katarina The Silent Blade was trapped in the League of Legends Murderworld that Arcade and Mojo devised. However, she didn't really give it a whole lot of thought afterwards, though it was nice working with other heroes for once.

But for now, she's back to performing Shakespeare in the Park, having kept the role of Lady Macbeth as the former understudy, again encouraging her husband to seize the throne for himself, and doing all manner of dastardly deeds. Though now, the play is just ending, and after coming out for final bows, she mingles a bit with the various members of the audience, answering questions and posing for selfies with the enthusiasts that want them. She defintely doesn't /look/ like any sort of sword-bearing warrior maiden...

But SHIELD does have pretty good facial recognition files, especially in this day of social media.
Daisy Johnson It was certainly an experience ... Daisy still dreams of skittering along the ground in spider form and swinging about in webs when she was Elise, the spider lady. Or rather, a Spiderwoman for a few hours. But that's done, and whatever traumas of biting down on a tentacled monster while transformed into a spider have been shelved... Because today it was time to do some recruiting. Or an earlier assessment at least.

The description, along with having her facial features ran by SHIELD computers, along with Quake's own expertise in social media and overall computer expertise led all cues to point to a certain Mary Jane Watson. Could she be the one they were after? What is true is that who had witnessed her in action had thought she had high potential to join the Agency and as such, here she was..

Arriving at the park didn't take long once she checked on social media that there'd be a play there. She came in on her casual clothing, jeans and a t-shirt. Because summer gets hot.

For now she has been watching the play, taking note of the redhead performing, watching mannerisms. Yet once the play appears to be closing down to an end she starts to approach, probably wanting to have a word before the performing group moves away.
Mary Jane Watson Mary Jane Watson does look to be your typical teenager, though a careful observer would note that she does definitely seem to have an athletic enough build to manage swordplay without too much of a problem. She grins and says something to one of the older women that she selfies with, then she notices Daisy approaching.

She doesn't seem to be tired of smiling, as she nods over towards Daisy, "Well, hello there. Enjoy the play?" She tilts her head curiously towards Daisy, as she's still decked out in her crimson dress, bedecked as a much younger but still stately Lady Macbeth.
Daisy Johnson "Very much so." Daisy says, an easy smile coming to her lips. The hacktivist was far from her scrawny form when she first joined SHIELD a few years back, also sporting that athleticism of someone used to intense physical workout. "All very tragic as it's supposed to be."

"Though you seem the type that wouldn't do bad in more physical parts." She comments, a brief glance at the young woman. A grin. "Makes me wonder if you have done those kind of parts too or is this your first gig?"

She shifts from one foot to the other. "You sort of look the type that would look great with a sword in hand afterall." Yes, maybe she is fishing for something! But then she introduces herself. "Where are my manners? I am Daisy. Daisy Johnson." she extends one hand to MJ for a shake.
Mary Jane Watson Mary Jane laughs softly, "Yeah, been working out a bit, and this isn't my first role, though I suppose it's my first prominent one. I do a fair amount of video work online, I don't know if you've seen it." Of course Daisy probably has, as Mary Jane does combinations of entertainment/exercise video clips on social media to try and get followers.

She does, however, accept the offered hand, giving Daisy's fingers a friendly squeeze. "Mary Jane Watson, but you probably knew that from the program." She keeps that smile in place as Daisy mentions the swords, though the grip gets painfully tight for a second as she tenses, then relaxes, "Swords? Well, I suppose I could try to be a genderbent Romeo for the next play, but I got a bit lucky here as the original Lady M took a bit ill and had to drop out. I was the understudy, of course."
Daisy Johnson "If it's in the internet, I am sure to have heard of it." Because Daisy certainly takes her hacktivism seriously! Perhaps now with a little less intensity as when she was Skye, but still keeping up. Harder to juggle everything with being an Agent, and then with her powers.. But she is still up there! "Some say I spend an unhealthy amount of time online. But what do they know, right?"

She takes MJ's hand, her squeeze just as friendly, not too firm or loose, just the normal kind. Or at least before MJ tightens it up. It does make her grin, perhaps confirming she was right in her assessment that this was indeed the right redhead that she had been looking for.

"Nice grip." She comments, then nods understandingly. "It's important to take hold of those opportunities when they come up. And you appear to be up to the task of taking over that part. Though I wonder if you are ready for a new one." she says, her eyes studying MJ briefly before she adds.

"Since you have recently impressed someone that, let me tell you, isn't that easily impressionable." a grin. "But maybe we could talk somewhere?" it does seem that Daisy isn's just another fan!
Mary Jane Watson Mary Jane nods, "... yeah, that's probably for the best." She grins and leads Daisy back towards the changing area, as most of the rest have already left for the day, leaving her in the tent with just Daisy, "Mind if I change out of this? Corsets are flattering but I still don't know how you can breathe that well in these." She grins and steps behind a changing screen, getting out of the Lady Macbeth outfit and into something a touch more 21st Century.

"Alright, so... what's this about, exactly?" She chuckles to herself, "I mean, I'm only an incoming freshman at Julliard, so I don't have an agent yet. Am I gonna need one?" She sounds a bit amused at the thought, making sure the costume is put away properly before changing back into her regular clothes in relative privacy.
Daisy Johnson "Be my guest." Daisy replies with some amusement, knowing well the woes of tight clothing. Because hey, try wearing a SHIELD uniform for hours in a mission and see how it fares! She busies herself look around the tent while MJ changes behind the screen, an occasional peek at her own phone to check on some messages.

When MJ asks about what she's doing here Daisy's dark gaze focuses on her, or the screen at least "Oh, I am not in the acting business." her amusement only growing. "But I suppose it may have seemed like that."

"I am with SHIELD." She lets that sink in for a moment.
Mary Jane Watson Mary Jane's silhouette stops behind the screen, "Er... okay." She sounds a little anxious about that, "So, you want to recruit... me? I mean, I guess acting is pretty good for undercover work, right?" She plays a little coy about it, as she's backdating while getting dressed.

Eventually, she comes back around the screen, wearing a white T-Shirt with the Spider-Man logo and snug blue jeans. And with the lack of period clothing, the fact that she is, in fact, pretty ripped is apparent. "I mean, what did I do that was so impressive?" Her eyes fix on Daisy, and there's a definite look of calculation hidden behind the semi-innocent demeanor as she's trying to get a feel for this.
Daisy Johnson "It is. Along with the rest of the skills you have showed." Daisy admits with a nod. She folds her arms together, shoulder resting relaxedly against the tent's center pole while she waits. "Yet skills, and training. That's something that can be worked on. You should had seen me when I first got into SHIELD ..." actually, let's not go there! A smile later she adds, "I am more interested on -who- Mary Jane is, and if you believe you'd be a good fit with us."

The look of calculation on MJ doesn't go unnoticed, if there's one thing that Daisy is now is one that can read cues. She knows there's something there, but no point in playing like she doesn't know about what she did, so she opens up the game. "You recently worked along with a few other Agents." she takes in a breath. "Mojo. Arcade. League of Legends.." she grits her teeth. Did she go through a similar experience? Maybe! "And you have been found to be someone of interest for what our group stands for."
Mary Jane Watson Mary Jane grins, "Oh, /that/... um..." She pauses, "Yeah, I have a fair amount of skills with a sword, and tactics, since... ah." She considers, and looks at Daisy, "I think if I told you the truth, you'd probably suggest that instead of SHIELD I should be sent up to Arkham Asylum to have my head examined." She chuckles ruefully, "I can't exactly believe it myself, sometimes."

With that, she takes a seat, gesturing to the chair across from her, "But yeah, I remember that. Not used to fighting with two blades, but I remember the Pretty Bird... Sam, I think? He was a pretty good distraction while I was taking out the other champions." She looks at Daisy curiously, "Guess you had a similar experience, huh?"
Daisy Johnson "Feel free to test me." Daisy is unable to suppress a laugh, a good-natured one. "There's a saying we have: There's no weird like SHIELD weirdness." a pause as she shakes her head, "Trust me, I have seen enough out there to really accept things in stride." she dislodges herself from the nice pole she had been leaning in, moving closer to MJ and settling down on the chair across from her.

"I was a .., mix of a spider and a woman. I suppose I now know how Spiderman feels when he is swinging around buildings with that webbing of his.." She murmurs, and ironic enough that it's MJ hearing about this. Yet by her tone and posture doesn't seem like she is aware at all with MJ's connection to Spidey.
Mary Jane Watson Mary Jane is apparently a fan, judging by the T-shirt, though more than that she doesn't let on, "Oh, that sounds /wild/... but yeah, um... I guess I have some questions about SHIELD. I mean, I'm not saying no, and honestly... like, I'm super flattered you asked. But, well, how would this affect school? Acting? Am I going to be able to do both? Is this going to be a secret? SHOULD this be a secret?" She looks at Daisy, looking like... well, like a teenager would when suddenly being approached by a massive intelligence organization that wants to hire HER.

A bit overwhelmed, sure. But she does seem to have a canniness about her. Something that's doing the math for her, almost like she's got another person in her head walking her through some of the steps. "Sorry, this is all... I mean, definitely NOT what I was expecting today." A bit of a wry grin, at that, "Guess I'm not making the best first impression."
Daisy Johnson "It all depends on how deep you want your involvement with us to be. We are willing to bring you in as a full agent, and that comes with a certain degree of commitment. School would be no problem, but as for acting..." Daisy furrows her brows. "It all depends how good you are with juggling things." though she does find it doubtful that something won't have to give, and that much is readable on her expression.

"We all have our stories on how we got recruited..." a grin, some story untold there, but then she continues, "And I will be honest, you are not exactly on the age range we normally go for but we found your potential to be what we were looking for so..., here I am." she opens her arms to the side and then relaxes back on her chair. "It's a better impression than what I was expecting, actually." a pause and then she asks. "What do you know about SHIELD?"
Mary Jane Watson Mary Jane hmms, "Not too much... I mean, I definitely have some expertise on juggling things, that's for sure." She chuckles a bit ruefully at that, warming up to Daisy as she says, "Yeah, I figured that. But I know... a little bit. You guys were formerly part of the OSS back in World War Two before splitting off under... um, Howard Stark and Peggy Carter, I think? My boyfriend is a bit of a fan, so he's given me a lot of intricate details about the public history that is escaping me right now under the pressure of trying to recall it all." She grins a bit sheepishly, "But you basically are a semi-covert agency devoted to defending people, right? Hence the abbreviation of SHIELD as opposed to something really obnoxious like HAMMER or something." She makes a bit of a face at that, as who would be /that/ tacky anyway?
Daisy Johnson For some reason when Peggy Carter is mentioned Daisy lets out a splitting grin. "Yes, she is quite the lady." is, not was! And then a nod comes about the rest of the explanation. "Well, you know your history, and so does your boyfriend. And right, SHIELD is all about protecting people, protecting Earth as it is from any threats to it. And trust me.., there's a lot of threats out there." a sigh given and she shakes her head to herself.

"Though more importantly, we are not a superhero group, most are just normal folks with a common purpose of protecting others." a beat. "Well, very well trained normal folks." a wink.

"Do you think you'd be a good fit with us? And more importantly, would you be interested?"
Mary Jane Watson Mary Jane smiles, "I... think I would be. If nothing else, I'd want to give it a shot. I mean, my gifts aren't too impressive, really. I can't fly or bench press cars or anything like that. But I do have a few gifts that I'd love to put into practice for the right cause. And it seems like SHIELD would be the right one."

She nods, "I mean, I'm not going to lie, being some sort of superspy is something I dreamed of since I was a little girl, and I know this isn't going to be /that/, don't worry."

She then blinks, "Wait, she /is/? I mean, she's got to be over a hundred..." Which might induce a snort inside her mind from her 'partner', causing MJ to turn her head slightly, "Yeah, well, she's got a body, which is more than you do. And no, that sword doesn't count."

Wait, who's she talking to?
Daisy Johnson "You can't bench press cars...? Oh no ..." Was that a requisite..?! But then Daisy winks, shaking her head. "It's as I said, we are not a superhero group, in fact your other skills may be even of more importance than combat capability. Not that it won't matter."

"I dreamed of the exact opposite, fighting against this same agency. Funny how things turn out. Now I wouldn't want anything else. They have become my family." her tone with an honesty to it that seems to show she is hiding nothing now.

"All in due time." This she says about Peggy. But then when MJ goes on in an apparent monologue it's time for Daisy to lift a brow. That makes her curious.

"What was that? Is this part of why you think I'd prefer you committed to Arkham than joining SHIELD..?"
Mary Jane Watson Mary Jane hrms, "Well, it'd be pretty obvious sooner or later... I have, well, an ancestor spirit living in my head. She's... well, where I get a lot of my fighting skills." She grins a bit shyly, "I really don't know how it happened, but it's been pretty amazing so far. Even if she's... still trying to figure out how everything works right now. She's from the Hyborean Era, but I guess I'm her descendant so she keyed into me."
Daisy Johnson "An ancestor spirit." Daisy echoes, thoughtful for a moment. "And let me guess, with a bit of an attitude too." a chuckle given and then she folds her arms together. "That's pretty amazing actually, and explains a few things. Even if it brings sooo many questions too." she reaches inside her pocket, bringing out her phone and tapping on it a couple of times. "I sent a ping to your phone with my contact." because hey, SHIELD tech meets super Hacker!

Then she starts getting up to her feet. "Call me later on and we can talk more, but I think you got your heart in the right place. But for now, time for me to go."

"Think about what we spoke of."
