Kitty Pryde Since realizing Henry McCoy has been going through a gradual loss of control as a primal, beastly side befitting his name seems to be gradually emerging, Kitty has been trying to be there for her old friend. Frequent visits are made to the man who in her lifetime has been friend, mentor, teacher, teammate, and even in some respects a big brother.

Today she checked on his lab and found he wasn't there as she might have usually expected at this time of day. So next she headed over to his room, rapping softly on the door until it opens. A bright smile is ready and waiting for Hank when the door has swung in to reveal it to him.

"Hey you," Kitty says. She has a tray in hand, with tea service set on it. Hank's uncommonly sensitive nose will be able to detect the aroma of his favorite tea wafting out of the small opening in the teapot, the beverage hot. Some biscuits and lemon, honey and milk are on the tray as well so it can be made perfect to his liking.
Henry McCoy Of course he let his friend in! Especially with his favorite tea, a wonderful break from the coffee he'd been burning through. His room was slightly less organized than it had previously been - perhaps another sign of his feral nature. In disarray, but still clean for the most part. "You didn't have to do this, Kitty." He offered over, with a polite smile. "But thank you, of course."

He clears the table, making room for the tea service. "How have you been?" He wonders, making sure the seats are open for them to sit and enjoy. Ever the man to put other's needs before his own, he slides a chair out for her before taking a seat.

"Everything is well, I hope?"
Kitty Pryde The younger woman smiles as she comes in. "What do you mean 'have to'?" Kitty asks him, flashing a grin over to Hank. "Tea with one of my favorite people in the world is a treat," she informs him, adding just a touch of mock sternness to her voice to make sure he doesn't try to dispute that.

She sets the tray down on the table and then moves over to take the seat that Hank offers her, a grateful smile given at the gentlemanly behavior. "Yes, very well," she tells him. "I have a pair of contracts I'm working that are interesting and challenging. Helping out on one of the mayoral campaigns. And also doing the guidance counselor thing here as I have time," she tells him.

She pours the tea for them both, sliding the cup and saucer over to Hank and letting him add to it how he prefers. She just adds a touch of milk to her own. "How about yourself?" she asks.
Henry McCoy Taking up the cup and saucer, carefully, he smiles. "I think I am ready to try resolving the nanite situation with Gabby. I think with some proper re-programming and her healing factor, we can get the tiny bots out of her. It will hurt, though. I hope she's ready for that." A slight frown.

"Moira and I went over everything, and I am positive it will work as we expect. We were hoping to get your eyes on the coding we'd come up with, to make sure we're not missing anything?"

"Other than that... I am coping. It's been rough. The... animal side comes out more. I find it easier to agree with ... permanent removal of some of our foes. Find some science more difficult. I think it is compounded with the fact that Carrie and I are no longer seeing one another."
Kitty Pryde Kitty holds her cup of tea in both hands as she takes a sip from it, listening to Hank fill her in on his latest happenings. "Sure, I'll take a look at the code," she tells him. "I should be able to look at it later today, have some free time this afternoon," the young woman tells him.

A thoughtful look is given by Kitty. "I haven't noticed Gabby being particularly bothered by pain. She might handle it better than most. I don't know if she's just not affected by it, or just knows she'll heal so doesn't really let it get to her like it would someone else?" she muses quietly, not having really given that thought before.

The teacup is rested on her knees for a moment, one hand keeping it steady, as Hank tells Kitty more about the issues with his feral side. "Is it kind of constant or do you have more control after a workout, letting a bit it of it out to vent?" she asks him. Her expression softens further as Hank mentions the state of his relationship. "I'm sorry that didn't work out. She seemed like a nice person. And I definitely know that /you/ are a great person," she tells him.
Henry McCoy He sips his tea, savoring the taste of the brew for a moment. "Gabby doesn't feel pain because of the nanites. She felt it when she was captured with Sinister, because he deactivated them for his experiments." A frown. "I suspect that this process will be... very painful, and I don't want to misinform her of such otherwise. Once she's expelled the nanites, she'll feel things normally again." A slight smile. "Better or worse. But she won't be dying from the little buggers."

"Sometimes getting it out, helps. Sometimes it just gives it more of a reason to take over." A slight frown at that. "Ororo and I ran across some mobsters going after the gentleman Fox - a cat burgalar. I almost killed one of them." He says quietly. "If Ororo had not stopped me, I might have."
Kitty Pryde Kitty gives a quiet, "Oh," at the reason Gabby hasn't shown much sign of being bothered by pain. "Ok, then yes, that could definitely be rougher on her," she agrees. She frowns slightly and says, "I'll go over everything and let you know if I find anything," she tells Hank.

She lifts her teacup up nearer to her nose to inhale the pleasing scent, before taking a slow sip of it. Something about tea is just calming. Perhaps why she brought it rather than one of the magnificent brews of coffee that Hank is known for.

The girl's brown eyes watch Hank over the top of the cup, and she gives a small nod as he tells her more. "Was there anything that seemed to trigger this change? Or did it just come on on its own? I guess you're probably looking to see if it's related to the formula you had to take," she says. "I'm not the best biologist, but if I can help there with anything, processing, whatever, you know I will," she says.
Henry McCoy The tea is enjoyed - both for the calming sensation and the flavor. Not to mention, the company! Henry smiles, nodding to her. "Yes, she deserves a proper life. If it works on her, it should work on her sisters that suffer the same issue." A sigh, content that he'd done his duty to make the lives of others better. "I do not think Laura has the same nanites, though. I don't think she has them at all, if I recall Gabby's explanation."

The tea is set down, the man looking to his newly formed paws, then to her. A wry grin. "I think this was a tertiary mutation brought on by Essex's torture, the feline shape and such. I ... I think the mental instability is part of it, unfortunately. I need to see if it can be... reverse engineered." A slight frown. "I don't mind being blue, or bestial. I am terrified of losing my mind."
