Nadia Pym-van Dyne Cresskill, NJ

The publicly known headquarters of GIRL (Genius In action Research Laboratories) is a multi-story building located on the Pym Technologies research campus. It isn't hard to find with the large purple and pink GIRL logo plastered across the front of the building and there tends to be lights and activity going on at just about any time of the day or night.

While the building isn't on high alert, security is not exactly lax. Key cards and biometrics are required to gain access and they also benefit from the same security teams paid to protect the rest of the Pym Technologies campus and the extremely sensitive tech and experiments contained within.

Tonight finds Nadia up late in one of the GIRL offices, not work on SCIENCE! as she no doubt wishes she was, but staring at planning documents and logistics for the upcoming GIRL Expo that she lamentably has not yet had time to develop anything new for. At least not that can be released publically.

"Ugh" It is not the most articulate of sounds that she makes as she flops back in her chair staring at the ceiling. She wants this Expo to happen, to showcase everything GIRL has been doing, but right now she'd really like to be doing literally anything else than paperwork.
Conner Kent A couple black vans almost glide into the campus. Lights out, electric engines, they are quiet and hard to see in the darkness. But they park at the gates of the GIRL building without any fuss. Two figures descend the lead van. One is a tall and tin middle-aged man in a black coat. Despite the time, he wears thick sunglasses. The other is an attractive brunette in a light blue and black jumpsuit. She looks twenty at most.

The approach the door and run a key card over the sensor. Somehow, the computer registers them as authorized. Then glitches, and 'forgets' the door opened for a few seconds.

A minute later someone knocks at Nadia's office door.
Vivian Vision The GIRL Campus also has another layer of security over that possessed by a typical lab. The ever watchful virtual prescence of one Vivian Vision. With the constant threat of Red Room Agents and other threats like a family visit from Ultron she always leaves a portion of her mind monitoring the area.

Of course with the recent trouble SHIELD has had it's not unreasonable that a few agents might be stopping by for a visit. So the mysterious two figures letting themselves in.. well it doesn't cause an alarming amount of concern.

Not enough to pull Viv away from her current experiment. Making a souffle.

The subpersona does fire off a quick text message. Asking Nadia if she's expecting guests.
Nadia Pym-van Dyne Nadia lurches back forward in her chair into a more upright position when her phone vibrates with a text message from Vivian. "Visitors?" She wonders aloud glancing at the message. Who would be visiting her at this hour she wonders and without calling first...

The knock startles her, even if there were legitimate visitors that she forgot about they shouldn't be able to get all the way to her door without her being notified of their arrival. A thousand thoughts race through the young genius' mind as to what this might be, she did only just recently tangle with another Red Room operation and their mysterious backers in Greenland after all...

In the blink of an eye Nadia seems to vanish from sight. In fact she has just become very small, changing into her Waspette suit she keeps in her necklace in midair and flying over to perch above the office door and listen.
Conner Kent The door creaks open after a few polite seconds, letting the thin man in. The brunette peers cautiously. "She is not here, Doctor," she murmurs.

The tall man tsks. "Yes she is," he states. "Nadia Pym-Van Dyne? I am Doctor Zaniel Templar. I apologize if the time is inconvenient," he walks to the work desk to check what Nadia was doing. "I would like to talk with you. A rather urgent matter, I am afraid. It really cannot wait."
Vivian Vision For now at least Vivian has no reason to leave her portion of the building. She's not especially far from her Great Aunts office and has full access to the building camera and security systems. Not that she needs the camera system to follow the guests as they travel around the building.

A series of odd security system results may as well be virtual signposts.

Still it never hurts to be cautious. A quiet notification to building security suggesting they be ready to relocate any members & staff to safe locations gets sent out. And of course Viv takes direct control of various automated security systems that secure the most dangerous of mad science items held in the lab.
Nadia Pym-van Dyne Nadia looks down at the intruders as they enter the office. In the back of her mind she is already assessing them on an instinctual level as was drilled into her in the Red Room. The brunette does not register much of a tactical threat or at least has faulty intel, unless of course she is faking it. This 'doctor' seems more of a threat, if not an overtly physical one.

<Viv intruders.> She sends a quick message to Vivian before descending from her perch appearing behind the pair with one of her gauntlets and the energy blaster within pointed at them. "Don't turn around, start talking. Why are you here and why did you bypass my security?"
Conner Kent The brunette does seem startled, but falls into a fighting stance right away, ignoring Nadia's threat. The thin man doesn't move, although he glances back briefly. "Why, I am here for you. You are a remarkable young woman and my superiors are very interested in you developing your full potential both as a scientists and a super-human."

He turns, but with his hands half-raised, and slowly. "I am an agent of N.O.W.H.E.R.E. We are here to make you an offer you can't refuse."
Vivian Vision It takes the blink of an eye for Viv to go from passive observer to actively controlling the security system. The message to security is superseded by a direct evacuation order and each of the secure labs seals up. She also makes some adjustments to the security system itself to try and patch out whatever means the 'guests' had been using to subvert it.

And of course if that's not possible for every door she will just manually lock everything and de-activate the system.

Any dangerous ongoing experiments are also shut down as safely as possible. No need to risk an explosion!

Her physical body gets up and begins calmly walking towards Nadia's office. She looks back at her souffle and sighs. This won't be the first time a GIRL emergency ruins her cooking and it probably won't be the last. << Let me know if you need help. I'll be right outside. >>
Nadia Pym-van Dyne There is a teenaged eyeroll, "Why do bad guys never listen? I specifically said don't turn around!" Nadia's gauntlet fires a powerful electrical discharge at the woman, though the output has still only been calibrated for a knockout.

"Like I havn't heard that before?" Her guantlet has barely discharged before she has disappeared again, constantly in motion as she zips about. "Look," she says reappearing at an oblique angle from the older man placing him between herself and his subordinate, "You're describing my entire childhood right now. I'm very good at refusing offers, I already destroyed three secret bases to avoid going back to that, does it really need to be four?!"
Conner Kent It is hard to see Templar rolling her eyes when Nadia zaps his younger companion because of the black glasses, but his reaction is pretty much the same as Nadia. "She is young and stupid, she will learn."

Surprisingly the brunette is knocked down, but not out. She must be tougher than she looks, because although she crashes against the wall, she groans in pain and struggles to stand up, her eyes glowing bright white.

"Hear me before you refuse," says the thin man, looking at Nadia directly. "In N.O.W.H.E.R.E. you will have access to technology several centuries ahead Earth mainstream. You will have a good deal of freedom at pursuing your own agenda, as long as it is for the benefit of humankind. And you will be quite safe from the Red Room, the D.E.O. or any other agency trying to turn you into a soldier for nationalistic agendas or sheer corporate greed. Because there is a war coming, one that will be waged by metahumans and super-soldiers."
Vivian Vision Viv wraps herself in a holographic illusion, blending into the corridor outside to anyone without super senses, and continues to take recordings of the conversation inside Nadia's office. Running the various names, vocal and speech patterns against all available databases.

Or at least pass on to someone like Natasha who can run them for her. It's not like she can just peek in SHIELD files whenever she wants.

<< In position by your door. >> Viv doesn't strike just yet though. Who knows what evidence this villains might give away while they think they're alone with her Great Aunt!
Nadia Pym-van Dyne "Glowing eyes thing, kinda cool. If you get up, I'm just going to shoot you again though." Nadia side comments as the young woman tries to get to her feet before turning her attention back to the older gentleman. "If you have future tech why do you need me? You would already have what I make unless you're trying to mess with the timestream. Dad says I am 100% not allowed to mess with the time stream. Though I'm pretty sure it would just split off into fragmentary realities anyway, like you would never solve the timeline you are trying to, just create a new one where things are different instead. But with that goal you might as well just explore parallel Earths, there's already an infinite number of those. I really don't recommend the one where my dad fused with Ultron though, that one was the worst."

It's a long tangent or a seeming tangent anyway, in reality there are dozens of simulations of how this could go and what her next move should be playing out in the young woman's head.

<Superhumans> She sub-vocally sends the message to Vivian. "Sorry, it sounds like you might possibly mean well, but it's really hard to take seriously anyone who you know doesn't book a meeting during normal hours to discuss things like a normal person and instead bypasses all of our security in the middle of the night. This doesn't scream trust me."
Conner Kent "Stand down, Brighteyes," mutters Templar, before the brunette does something that gets her zapped again. The girl freezes, looking somewhat scared, but obeys nevertheless.

Again, Templar looks at Nadia, "well, we are hardly the typical organization. We have to work clandestinely so not to draw too much attention from larger organizations. Such as SHIELD, which watch you closely, young woman. And yes, the current power struggle gave us a window, but we have nothing to do with it."

He pauses a few seconds, glancing outside through the window. "Please, tell your friend she can come in. She is a mechanical intelligence, right? Interesting, perhaps your creation?"
Vivian Vision Vivian Vision portions off a little of her mind to arrange for new office furniture and provisionally books a timeslot for repairs for the immediate area. Quite how extensive they'll be remains to be seen. But it never hurts to get maintenance scheduled in asap! You never know when a supervillain will try break into a Pym facility and destroy things.

The side of her mind handling computer security and SIGINT locates some kind of incoming message through the wifi network and, using anti-Ultron level firewalls, initiates contact.

When the people inside indicate they've noticed her Viv makes her way inside. Not by opening the door but by slipping almost entirely out of phase with reality. Even advanced sensors could struggle to find her unless they know exactly what to search for.
Nadia Pym-van Dyne There is a reason some people consider Nadia bad at secrets, secrets often breed lies to protect them and for a girl raised in a world where everything was lies within lies that is the last thing she wants. "Look Mysterious Science Man. If you want me to even begin to trust you or agree to anything, you're going to need to tell me a whole lot more. Like do you have a power point or something, maybe a holocube presentation?"

Her eyes glance in Vivian's direction as the synthezoid makes an appearance, though her attention remains focused on Dr. Templar, "No, she's my Great Niece, emphasis on the great." Those jokes never get old for Nadia, even in a completely serious situation.

Though she falls back into her interrogation of Dr. Templar quickly enough, "Or can you show me some evidence to back up your claims? An example of this future tech? Maybe a timeline correlating to events you couldn't know about otherwise? Video footage of this future war? Something?"
Conner Kent "There is only so much I can show you here," Templar seems to be interested in Viv, too, but refocus to Nadia quickly. "Technology samples, perhaps... but you would need some time to study and verify the claims, and I can stay here for long."

Meanwhile Viv is being greeted by someone called Toshiro that has hacked his way into at least some systems in the facility. It is amazing enough he has gotten so deep into the Pym firewalls in just a few minutes, and he is probably superhuman given the speed he is asking questions. Some of which are rather personal! At least he is not trying to hack Viv. So far.

"My smartsuit," mutters the brunette, finally standing up. "Ah yes," agrees Templar. "But I doubt even Ms. Pym can appreciate on plain sight how much more advanced it is even compared with an unstable molecules suit."
Vivian Vision Rather than play systems tag with a superspeed hacker Viv simply turns off the power for anything that's safe to shut down. Letting her focus on vital systems. And when it comes to virtual speed.. Well it'll take some doing to match her! After all she's operating at machine speeds in a network she's familiar with and can split her mind to both attack and defend at the same time.

Still the questions people ask can reveal a great deal about them and what they want. So she re-assigns the part of her which was booking repairs to hold a conversation and try and build up a profile.

"I fail to understand how someone can be smart enough to operate such technology and yet fail to see the flaw with the argument of 'We're going to abduct you against your will so that no-one else can abduct you against your will'," she notes, playing the audio into the room. Remaining out of phase and wrapped in a holographic disguise for now. "Please be aware that if you make any attempts at hostilities we can call upon the Avengers and the Titans for support. Although I do not think we would need them."
Nadia Pym-van Dyne Nadia glances at the suit, or rather directs the advanced sensors in the visor of her helmet to begin an advanced breakdown of what 'Bright Eyes' is wearing. "Not the overwhelming evidence I was hoping for, but I guess it's something." She is glancing at the readouts as they scroll by while still keeping her attention solidly on Dr. Templar.

"Look, I have an Expo to plan and it's a lot of work. God I hate paperwork and boring logistics, but if we're going to show people how amazing our innovations are it needs to happen. Do you have like a business card where I could consider this, maybe do a bit of research and get back to you?"
Conner Kent "Kidnapping does not make good researchers," points out Templar. "I was trying to appeal Ms. Pym scientific curiosity and sense of adventure. But perhaps she has not even heard about us."

<Wait a second don't do this I just wanted to know y...> Toshiro doesn't even try to stop Viv from shutting down the compromised systems. He almost felt disappointed.

And that is the end of them being polite. Brighteyes gives Nadia a surly look, and then everything is very, very white and very blinding light as she releases her photokinetic abilities.

And that is why Templar wears those black glasses.

Meanwhile, in the front of the building, three more figures leave the vans. They are armoured in blue and white, with red faceplates. Two of them bear the numbers 60 and 81 in the faceplates, and carry advanced-looking assault rifles. The third, easily a foot taller than the others and twice as broad as a normal man, has no numbers, and no weapons.
Vivian Vision In the last moments before Viv drives Toshiro out of the buildings systems she provides some contact information. In the form of an ancient and largely inactive message board that mostly hosts cat pictures from the early days of the internet. He might prove a useful source or be in need of rescue! But that's something she'd much rather discover on systems that no-one will care about if some nefarious scheme is underway.

Her virtual instances adjust the evacuation plans to ensure no-one will encounter these numbered re-enforcements. The buildings are thankfully well stocked with hidden safe rooms for this very situation. More than enough to hide everyone who might be working at this time of day.

"Great Aunt Nadia if you needed help with paperwork you should have just asked," she points out. "It will take a fraction of the time." After all you don't need super intelligence to deal with bureaucracy. You need a superior ability to withstand boredom.

She unphases at last, dropping the holograms as well, and moves to try slug this Templar figure in the head. Not superhumanly hard, she has no interest in seriously hurting anyone after all, but with the force she estimates would be needed to knock out a figure of Templars age and build.
Nadia Pym-van Dyne Thank god for highly descriptive code names. After Dr. Templar referred to the young woman as bright eyes, Nadia has a short list of guesses what she might be able to do and making things really bright was right below laser vision. She flinches in pain, before the polarization of her faceplate begins to kick in blocking some of the light. In that instant reflexes and reactions honed by the Red Room kick in as she wills herself to very tiny size.

While fighting blind is not beyond her abilities, Nadia has a better idea as she kills the main visual interface of her helmet, instead bringing up thermal scans of the room. Honing in on the heat signatures, the tiny wasp girl flies like a bullet, towards the source of the blindness, returning to full size at the last possible moment with all of her momentum intact with a brutally powerful kick the gut. The girl resisted the stun setting of her Wasp's Sting before, she was done playing around.

<Why do they never listen Viv?!> Because really Nadia is one to talk about people not listening...
Conner Kent Did someone expect laser eyebeams? Because Brighteyes does have laser eyebeams. Although she shoots them at low intensity as not to fry Nadia. Just burn her wings. But she is too tiny target even for someone able to aim with her eyes. The kick to the gut leaves the brunette doubling over and weezing.

Meanwhile Templar is not particularly surprised by Viv's sudden 'arrival'. He just waits for the android to be close enough to... well, his chest explodes in a mass of pitch black tentacles, or maybe they are eels/lampreys. With sharp teeth and glowing eyes.

And then the big armoured figure crashes through the wall after jumping from the ground outside. "Hello! I am the mighty Fuji!" He greets. Mechanical voice, but Japanese accent.
Vivian Vision Well. That isn't something you see every day. Thankfully it just takes a thought for Viv to shift herself and her clothing from regular human-equivalent density to something functionally more durable than a solid block of steel. Anything trying to bite her will find the experience extremely unpleasant. And if anything does exceed her tolerance for physical force it just takes another thought to phase out of danger.

Still hunting manticores with the Amazons taught her never to underestimate abilities you don't understand. So rather than get any closer and try for another punch she uses her own eyebeams to try blast Dr Templars googles off his face. He wouldn't be wearing them unless the blinding light his ally uses was a problem for him!

The mighty Fuji.. Well he gets a very disapproving look. Guess those contractors will be needed after all. "Did you really need to destroy the wall like that? What possible benefit is there in causing property damage."
Nadia Pym-van Dyne A tiny wasp sized Naida weaves around the eye beams zipping about at speeds far exceeding a regular annoyingly hard to swat insect. Using the space her small size affords her she does a flip in the air, returning to full size at the last moment to deliver a full sized somersault axe kick on the already doubled over Bright Eyes. With the living flashbang hopefully dealt with she rises up towards the ceiling taking stock of the evolving battle.

"I liked that wall, some of my favorite posters were on it!" Shouts Nadia as Fuji bursts through the wall. <Viv can you handle the gross tentacle man?> Nadia asks through her comms as she zeros in on Fuji and tries to determine if he's a remote controlled robot, autonomous robot, or some guy in a suit.
Conner Kent Steel is too hard for Templar's little monsters, although they break some teeth scratching Viv's skin. They also wrap around her limbs and pull with considerable force. Until she blasts are the thin man's face. His eyes are inhuman black on red. Perhaps that is why he hides them? He is still human enough to recoil when his eyes are hurt, though, the leeches reluctantly releasing Viv.

"The window was too small," explains Fuji in an apologetic tone. He grunts in disapproval when Templar gets hurt, though, and backhands Viv. He is indeed mighty, and even at high density Viv will be crashing a few walls. Intangibility might be a better idea than trading punches with the big guy.

Brighteyes was trying to stand up again when Nadia dropkicks her. Men twice her size would have been already unconscious. But that kick seems to do the trick.

Is Fuji a robot? There is no openings in that massive armor Nadia can see. But infrared reveals something very, very hot inside the suit. Unlikely to be human, unless it is the Human Torch hiding inside there.
Vivian Vision When Fuji swings at Viv he'll find there's only the briefest sensation of contact. Like trying to swat a statue that turns to smoke the second you touch it. "We were in the process of asking your friends to leave," she points out. Hopefully the force of his phase-dodged swing doesn't disturb the air enough to disrupt Nadia's wings. "And would have escorted them out of the building."

Dr Templar isn't ignored totally though. She bubbles him in a fishbowl sized hologram that wraps around his head. Anything inside a pure blinding light. The outside of the bubble displays precisely what his features look like within so it seems like nothing has happened. At least unless you have advanced sensors or superspeed.

If he does try to fight back well she can deliver more eyeblasts and phase dodge any incoming strikes from Fuji. "And if you agree to leave now and take them both with you we won't have to fight any more."
Nadia Pym-van Dyne As a rule, Nadia isn't a big fan of fighting even if she is very good at it. Even with the wall being destroyed and Vivian getting attacked, she is still inclined to go along with Vivian's offer of a peaceful outcome, especially with what her sensors are telling her about Fuji.

"Take them and leave," She says raising both gauntlets at the Doctor and Fuji, "or wind up fun sized in sample containers." The Waspette is apparently getting serious.
Conner Kent Trying to blind Doctor Templar is not a bad idea, and it probably worked given he is trying to shield his eyes with his arms, but the swarm of weird tentacles that sprout from his chest do not seem too bothered. Perhaps because they have eyes and teeth. Several of them launch at Nadia, and a few others attempt ineffectively to grab Viv. "Fuji, destroy that robot," growls the dark man.

Fuji seems somewhat hesitant to use his full strength. He is not clumsy, but his size means he needs to be careful with ceilings and walls. In fact, the floor is creaking under his foot. Viv's eyeblast leaves a line of scorched armor where it hits. But causing real damage is going to take a while.

After he fails again to connect with his fist, however, he stops. "She can reduce her density to the point I cannot touch her, Doctor Templar." Notes the armored giant.
Vivian Vision "This engagement is only going to get you and your friends injured," Viv informs the attacking Fuji. Phasing through whatever is inside the suit going by the name isn't pleasant. Thankfully Viv's ability to feel pain was disengaged before the fight began so her face remains impassive. "None of you can harm me and my Great Aunt Nadia will be impossible to capture now she knows what you intend."

A subpersona handling the encrypted communications notes. << Waspette whatever is inside that suit it is not a regular pilot. We might risk some kind of containment breach if we're not careful.>>

Clearly this Doctor with the shadow tentacles is in charge, so for now at least that's where Viv directs her attacks. Her holographic system isn't limited to just wrapping a head in a bubble. She can fill the entire room with a mist of static with nauseating, borderline seizure inducing, patterns and shapes. All the while providing Nadia with a real time update on what the room really looks like so she can navigate freely. It doesn't matter how many eyes Templar grows if the whole room is optical mayhem!

"In the event that I am taken offline an Avengers threat response team will scramble to this location."
Nadia Pym-van Dyne There is a moment when it seems like the tentacles might reach Nadia, they get harrowingly close ...and then in a microsecond she just vanishes yet again, only to appear again at another angle off the line of attack after weaving through the tentacles like a Veritech fighter dodging macrosss missiles, once again aiming her gauntlets at Doctor Templar and Fuji.

Among Nadia's greatest achievements as a Scientist has been not only improving the way Pym Particles are harnessed in order to achieve her microsecond speed size shifts but further combining Pym technologies with technologies invented by none other than Dr. Victor von Doom in order to create her own offensive shrink rays. The technology is dangerous to use on living things, even in the hands of one who understands it intimately, as such she most often uses it creatively with inanimate objects such as removing weapons from the field or supersizing otherwise normal projectiles. However, in extreme circumstances it also makes for a potent weapon of last resort.

When those trying to take her somewhere she has no intention of going refuse to leave and what's more begin to aggressively attack, absolutely destroying her office and ruining all the paperwork she spent so many hours painstakingly writing out, the Waspette has had enough. "Why, why can't you just take no for an answer?!" Nadia seems very frustrated as she pulls the trigger on her size altering beams rather than her energy blasts, one translucent beam of energized pym particles flying towards Doctor Templar while another shoots towards Fuji with the end goal of making them both only a few centimeters tall where they can do much less damage.

The observant might also note given the chance, the SOS light of her T-Comm on her belt is flashing to alert the Titans of trouble and her location.
Conner Kent The shrinking blasts hit their targets. Templar is still seeing everything full of spots and feeling rather dizzy, and Fuji is preoccupied with Viv. However, they have no effect. "I told you we are centuries ahead in science and technology," growls Templar. "Those tricks are not going to work on us."

But Fuji has something to add. "Doctor, they are projecting multi-spectrum communications. I can't guarantee complete interception." At which the good doctor replies with a snarl. "Fine. Grab Brighteyes and go!" And then to both young women. "This is not over. This is just the beginning."

The room darkens, and then returns to normal. Unless someone stands on his way, Fuji is jumping down, with the brunette on his shoulder. Doctor Templar seems to slink over shadows, using the strange creatures that seem to live in his chest to grapple his way down very quickly, almost melting with the night.
Vivian Vision "If you return please be aware I will be putting together a comprehensive itemized invoice, covering all the damages you have caused, which we will be expecting you to pay," Viv informs solemnly at the retreating villains. "Also I will be forced to detain you for the authorities. This will likely involve your butts being kicked. Metaphorically and quite possibly literally speaking."

Various subpersonas begin compiling all available data regarding the break in and from the fight. Including the data points from when she phased through Fuji.

The synthezoid teenager glances down to check if the remains of the Doctors sunglasses have survived the battle. Physical samples are always useful even if it's unlikely they are made of anything exotic. There could still be useful DNA and finger prints on them!

"Do not worry about the paperwork for the repairs to your office Great Aunt Nadia. I have taken the liberty of arranging it all with facilities."
Nadia Pym-van Dyne Nadia just sort of stares for a moment as one of her crowning achievements in advanced SCIENCE! is completely negated. It is the face of someone who was perhaps a bit cocky and overconfident about their prized invention and just got knocked down a peg. At the same time the gears in her head have clearly begun to spin at maximum velocity as she tries to figure out just /how/ it was accomplished.

Ultimately Nadia doesn't pursue them, she just stands where she is and frowns. "That doctor, he needs to be stopped. But the big guy? He didn't seem bad. I wonder what sort of hold the doctor has on him. None of this makes any sense. I'm going to brief Natasha, we're going to need to call a meeting and inform everyone about this new threat. Also Viv I'd like every scrap of data you collected about this encounter as soon as you can." She says as she continues looking out into the night, clearly still thinking about how Pym Particles were thwarted and the mysterious Fuji.
