Owner Pose
Selene Corvinus Its a warm summer night in Gotham City and the local streets are fairly busy still. A corner pawn shop is lit up brightly as people inside it are shopping and milling about. Some people are lingering outside of the shop as well when a tall female figure inside the well lit store steps out the door. Wearing all black, the woman strides out in to the night and gives one last nod and a wave to the man behind the protected counter space. Outside now, Selene steps on to the side walk and shares a few words with the men standing outside the building. Things seem pretty casual and normal, aside for the woman wearing a long leather trench coat in the middle of summer....
Hope Summers Ahh, it's a good night to be out and about. Only a few weeks left of summer and Hope is determined to enjoy all of it. Even if most of her time is taken up with important heroics and other serious business. Today she decided to take a walk on Gotham streets, looking for another possible lead on those baddies who were selling some sort of illegal weapons and capturing young metahumans.

Now, if she can only find this guy she was supposed to meet. Something about a bar a half block down from a popular pawn shop. But she is late and hopefully he'll still be there. She pauses outside the shop, peering up at it and frowns. "Hm, not far from here then.." she mutters, arching a brow at the tall, lean woman in a long black duster. And smirks.

In contrast, Hope is dressed in a pair of faded blue jeans and a t-shirt. And a dusty beige cloak, ragged on the ends. Probably too warm for this weather, but it hides lots of stuff too.

Like that big gun of hers. "Heh, nice coat." she smiles and nods to the woman, knowing good fashion when she sees it. But back to business. She wanders down the street, heading to a less crowded part of town.
Selene Corvinus As it so happens, Hope is going the same direction that Selene is and when the other affords her a compliment for her attire, Selene's dark brown eyes look the woman over and she offers a smile and a nod. "Likewise, to be sure." She says in her European flavored voice.

Selene's hands go in to the pocket of her coat and she notes after a few steps that they're basically walking side by side now. "You have an air of being a bit new around here, if you don't mind me saying." Selene notes, her eyes back over on Hope to her right. "Are you lost? I'm not from around here myself, but I feel like I've been learning a lot in a matter of months. I'm happy to give directions, should they be needed." She speaks, her voice calm, casual and inviting in a way too, at least to most ears.
Hope Summers Hope Summers is rather...Scruffy in comparison to the stylish woman in black, even though she's sure lightly woven cottons are far more comfortable for summer weather than sleek black leather. But hey, each to their own. She just shrugs and chuckles, slowing down a few steps as she realizes the other woman is headed in the same direction as herself.

"Hmm, well I don't usually hang out in this neck of the woods, but..I'm looking for a guy. Pretty tall, middle aged, salt and pepper beard, scruffy hair, pretty hefty." she holds out her arms like so. "Apparently an occasional customer of the pawn shop we just passed. Don't suppose you've seen him? Said he'd either be at said pawn shop which he's not, or some biker bar not far from here.."

Hope frowns as she peers skywards at the rapidly darkenning sky, "Although meeting a gruff strange biker punk in the middle of the night is a bit weird..Maybe I should have met him during the day. Oh well." she shrugs and grins as if rather looking forward to the challenge and potential danger she might be heading right into.
Selene Corvinus Selene shifts her stare from Hope to the direction they're heading and back again throughout what the other says. She shows a soft grin at the end and nods her head gently a single time. "You're talking about Noah." She says. "He's a regular at the pawn shop back there and Noonan's up there." She nods ahead of them toward the bar sign that is flickering up in the distance.

"It is a bit late for a meet-up and I mut say you don't really come across as the normal type that are searching for Noah." She says a bit further, her coat swaying around her legs as they walk in the warm night air.

"Generally Noah has people coming to him for money, as he's got a bit of a gambling addiction, you see. He's good at it, sometimes, and other times he's quite dreadful at it." She looks back to Hope to show another ghostly grin. "Would you like an escort? I'm burning some time for now myself."
Hope Summers Hope Summers arches a brow. "Noah, huh? Oh yeah, that's right." she grins and nods. 'Sooo, you know the guy? Friend of your's..?" she shrugs at the question, pulling the cloak tightly around her shoulders and nods. "Hey, sure..Why not? I could use the company, and since you know him, maybe you could point him out for me.."

As for her business with him, Hope hesitates a bit before deciding how to answer that one carefully. "Right. I guess he gets around, sees a lot of stuff. Just needed to ask him about something he recently bought at the pawn shop. You know, I hear it's a pretty awesome item and I was hoping to get more details on it, see if I can buy one just like it. I guess..He beat me to the punch." she grins, wondering if she'll buy it. Hey, it's at least a partial truth.
Selene Corvinus Selene glances down the side street that turns to the north as a couple of bike riders rumble past them on their way toward the city bridge. She looks back to Hope then at the bit of info the other gives her. "Noah has been a bit of an informant for me since I came to this area. In all his mannerless glory, he has managed to win a bit of endearment in my heart." She states before glancing toward Noonan's not far ahead. "He knows a lot of people around here, you see, and in my business, I need to find people fast, which... well, yes, he helps with." She looks back to Hope and smiles again. "I'm in security, for a company based out of Manhattan, who may be opening an office in Gotham fairly soon. So getting to know the locals helps."

When they walk up on Noonan's, Selene reaches for the door handle and pulls it open for Hope. "I'll hang back, I don't wish to delve in to your business with him, as that would be rude." She smirks before following HOpe in to the bar. "I'll wait by the bar."

Once inside, Selene nods down the bar toward the man in question who is watching a boxing match on the television, slapping his hands and growling at the going-ons...
Hope Summers Hope Summers nods. "Hmm, guess he's a pretty popular guy then, huh." she grins as she pauses outside the bar. Hmm, well, hopefully no one will try to ID her if she attempts to buy herself a drink. "Oh. That's him, huh? Well this should be fun.." she smirks as she moves in on Noah, peering up at the tv then back at the guy in question, clearing her throat. "Ahem, you're..Noah, right? It's me, Hope. We were supposed to meet, remember? I'm a bit late, sorry about that.."
Selene Corvinus Selene breaks off to the other side of the bar but before going she adds a "Good luck." With a little smile before leaning over the bar on her forearms to order a drink. She waits there, but is glancing over at Hope on her way while talking to the bartender some.

Noah doesn't take his eyes off of the tv for a handful of moments, even waving a hand at Hope. "Hold on, hold on...." He distractedly says to the girl before he slaps his hands together as the round ends. He turns to face her then and riases a hand up to wipe a napkin at his glasses lenses then runs a hand over his forehead. He looks right at Hope, his eyes blinking. "Who are you?" He asks, eying her up and down. "I don't owe you anything!" He says loudly, getting a few looks from the others i nthe bar.
Hope Summers Hope Summers nods and smiles to Selene, grateful for her assistance. Turning back to the guy in question, she taps her foot rather impatiently but keeps her mouth shut, waiting for him to finish his game. But his reaction when he sees her does cause her to frown. "Uh, hey wait a minute, have you forgotten our phone call? Or our meeting? That weapon you bought from the pawn shop..You promised you'd show it to me. It's me, Hope Summers.."
Selene Corvinus It takes the man a moment before he jumps in his stool. "Oh, oh, right. Summers. Summer wind. Breath of fresh air..." He slips off of the bar stool and motions hope to follow him to one of the booths. "Come on, girly." He says.

Once at the booth, he reaches in to his pocket and pulls a wrapped-up item out that he sets on the table and pushes toward her, presumably where she'd sit down.... "Here it is. And I swear I'll get a better deal than you'd find anywhere else."

Selene is sipping from her drink and glancing over at them here and there...
Hope Summers Hope Summers frowns, "Heey, the name's Hope, not girly.." she mutters but nods and follows him into a booth. And then he pulls out the object and she arches a brow, leaning nearer to peer at it. "Huh. I expected the gun to be a bit...Bigger, but I suppose even great things can come in small packages." It's a fair bit smaller than the other weapons she has seen being sold on the black market. Maybe it's some newer, more efficient technology? or perhaps this is an incomplete model or just a smaller component of some larger thing? "May I hold it?"
Selene Corvinus Noah seems completely confident in a weapon deal happening here in the open of Noonan's bar. Its almost like this place is a sleeze-hive. The only other patrons in the bar are at the bar, Selene and four random Joe-worker-types.

"Sure sure, its unloaded." Noah says to her. He watches her closely though and shakes his head. "Whats a girl like you want with a weapon like this anyway?" He asks her. "You seem... nice, definitely not Gotham. You in trouble?" He asks, leaning forward to whisper. "I know people who can get you outta trouble, they don't charge too much either."
Hope Summers Hope Summers is totally focused on the weapon at the moment. She's already inferred that this is not some highscale bar, and that it's probably full of criminal activity, of one sort or another. As her fingers expertly run along the length of the gun, she seems to be looking for something in particular. A particular logo or trademark, which is always hard to spot. Or perhaps a certain style that would give it away.

"Hmm?" she arches a brow at him and shrugs. "Nah, i'm not in trouble. i'm the one trying to stop the troublemakers. I'm tougher than I look you know."
Selene Corvinus Noaha seems oblivious to what she's looking for, whether its ther eor not, he doesn't know. Or doesn't seem to show it, maybe just waiting for her to show it first? Instead his eyes are wandering back to the tv as the fight is back on. "Man, I got five hundo on Rodgers..." He idly says as if Hope cares. "He better keep his mits up...."

He tears his eyes from the tv and looks back to the girl across from him. "Huh? Oh, uh, yes, of course you are, Hopeful One." He says with a jovial laugh. "Well this is Gotham, so if you don't have any weapons on you this is a good one to start with. Girl like you can't be safe enough in a grungey drungey city like this." He glances at her hand on the gun then up at her. "So? We have a deal?" He asks.
Hope Summers Hope Summers hmms and nods. aha, there it is. There's the mark. "Aha...Soo, this *is* what I'm looking for." she nods to him and smiles. With the information she had acquired from this, and the interview she has scheduled with the pawn store owner, she should be able to track this one down too.

"Hehe, don't worry, I've got lots of useful weapons on me, but this one would be useful too." she grins and nods. "Sure, how much you selling this one for?"
