Angela So, sometimes you hire someone and they don't deliver. Sometimes you hire another someone and they don't deliver. Then sometimes you gotta hire that one crazy lady in the skimpy armor that said she could kill anything that you didn't want to hire because she seemed crazy and expensive. But here we are.

Camden Jones was a would be drug/crime lord who wanted to make a name for himself by setting up in an abandoned building in Hell's Kitchen. Then he'd hire a sorcerer (who supposedly came highly recommended) to summon him a bunch of demons to help run his operation. Then he'd have an operation on the cheap! Supposedly.

Of course, then they all went crazy and killed his sorcerer so he hired a bunch of goons to deal with the demons and then the demons ate the goons.

Finally he hired Angela.

"So, as I see it. Ya go in dere and kill 'em all." He grins at the tall red head with the big blades and weird armor. "Then we can discuss payment, alright?" And then a blade was pointed at him.

"I will kill them. You will pay me what I am owed. Then we part ways." Angela responds and Camden tries not to pee himself. He just nods and gives a shakey thumbs up.

He'd be lucky to sell this building and get out of this even. Either way. Now, the top of the building explodes outward, a firey demon races out of it only for Angela to appear in front of him and kick him back into a lower floor and chase him back in.

"Oh hell..." Camden sighs and runs his hands back over his head and sighs.
Angelo Tampambulos     Killing is something that the old Greek is tired of. Sure, he still fights when the need arises, but he is TIRED of death. The fact that he himself cannot die just adds to that feeling of being 'over it'. Angelo lives in Brooklyn these days however, and he ventures into the city proper for a number of reasons, more often than one might think. But he has reasons. One, he is 'involved' with a NYC detective. Two, he is still a part of SHIELD, and is in the field quite often.

But he also -likes- being around the people of such a vibrant living city. But he actually owns a rather prestigious bodyguard firm. Not that his company has anything to do with hunting demons.

But this evening, he was merely enjoying a hot dog he purchased from a street vendor, and was almost finished with it as the building explodes nearby. Okay, anyone can be startled. He drops the last bite of his dog to the sidewalk and turns to stare at the effect. "By the mighty Thunderbolt." he mutters even as he starts walking that way.

Sure, most people are turning to flee... or as New Yorkers, they just stand, stare, and point.. oh and many have phones out to record the incident. But Angelo is walking towards the building in his street clothes.
Cole Cash See, that is because gangsters nowadays never hire the right goons the first time around. They are cheap. It is not even that Grifter is expensive, but he is not -that- cheap.

He feels a little sorry for the goons that got killed, though. They were idiots, and probably street thrash. But thirty years ago he was that kind of guy too.

Camden Jones being the biggest idiot of them all, Cole considered killing him himself. But instead he did something far worse: He told Amanda Waller.

But instead of doing something horrible to Jones and his demons, Waller told Cole 'fix it'. And she pays him well (well, not really - more a kind of deal he cannot walk away thing).

Which brings Cole Cash here, with his mask and some good weapons, the kind he shouldn't use in a city. But, really, demons? Worse than ninjas. Also, looks like he is late. Skimpy armor redhead is already in the case. Which is... perfectly okay for him.
Balder Balder has always loved humanity.

He has always watched and listened for them, has always cast his light upon them so they may be warmed by the sun and look up to a beautiful blue sky. Granted, while Thor always brought his storms and came with vengeance, Balder always came with peace in mind. That is true even now.

The explosion garners Balder's attention as he stood on an adjacent building, a frown touching the armored Prince's face. But he rides into battle all the same, a greataxe in hand that -must- be the mighty Svraden. He calls to the streets below. "Return to your homes!" The booming voice of Balder shouts in the darkness.

Takes him a moment to remember they are New Yorkers.

But with a mighty leap, the glowing Odinson forwards into battle! However, when he lands with the floor cracking underneath the weight of his feet, Balder notices Angela and Camden Jones and stays his blade.

"Tell me of what occurs here. Have you awakened beasts of Musphelheim?"
Angela For the moment, Camden is on the ground outside the building, staring up in disbelief and hoping that things will not get worse. He did not really think about telling Angela to keep things quiet. He assumed she'd know. Now, however, everything is getting worse and he's considering just fleeing.

Inside, Angela cuts the head off of the flaming demon and its fires begin to die almost immediately. She can't see Cole or Angelo just yet but Balder gets her attention. She frowns as she spots him.

"Musphelheim?" She sighs and shakes her head, "Asgardian." She spits on the floor and then turns and drives a blade into another large demon which then backhands her into a wall and through it. She kip ups and immediately kicks another demon through a wall.

"I awakened nothing, Asgardian. A fool was foolish. Now I am tasked with cleaning up the mess."

At ground level, if someone goes into the eight story building, they'll find demons have taken over this building well and truly. Not the greatest of their kind but a great number of them. The humanoid demons on ground level are currently discussing the clothes they have found.

"Ha, ya know, I like da human's style." One demon in a bowler states as he adjusts it and looks in a reflective surface, "Think the boss will let us play dress up and start our own gang?"
Angelo Tampambulos     There's his first mistake. Assuming the Redheaded Skimpy armor warrior does anything in a subtle way. Well it's not like Angelo knows this for sure. Either way, he slows at the sidewalk, hears talk of an Asgardian, then snorts.

However, unlike most of the New York bystanders who love to watch.. Angelo just walks past the gawkers and goes right in through the front door like he owns the place.

"Look. It's been a long day. What do you say all you bloody demonic fellows just go home and save yourselves the mess of being -forced- there?" he asks, looking for all like a bystander with delusions of grandeur. At least until someone in the know views his aura, or looks him in the eye.

It is not often that Achilles of Pithia issues ultimatums to demons.
Cole Cash In Cole's experience warrior women in skimpy armor tend to charge guns blazing, or swords blazing. On the other hand, large flaming demons in the middle of New York really don't lean towards subtle approaches. The place is going to be crawling with super-heroes soon, he is sure.

Perhaps he shouldn't get involved. On the other hand, he was ordered to fix the problem, and this Jones fool needs to go. So, he walks closer and hears Angelo's words. "That never works with the tourists," he points out. Then draws one of his plasma guns and shoots at the closest demon, on the head.
Balder Balder seems almost...almost sad when Angela seems to spit at the floor before him and get back to her work. Balder doesn't wish to be anybody's enemy, but he's not so naive to believe that the Asgardians as a people are free of sin. Thoug hhe does not believe that they can't work together in the moment, case in point when a demon comes up on Angela from behind, only to be cleaved in twain with the uru axe!

"Then it seems in this moment, we will work together." Balder does not comply to Heven's laws of 'nothing for nothing', and rather will help out of his own moral obligation to do so...which may or may not infuriate Angela beyond possible measure.

"I do not know your name or where you hail. I am Balder, son of Odin." The demons start to crawl over the outside of the building, and the prince holds his axe a little bit higher, ready to re-engage into battle.
Angela "Alright, listen human. We know some of you mort-" And that bowler wearing demon is cut off by a bullet through his face. He falls backwards and the other five gasp before turning and rushing at Cole and Angelo with anger in their eyes.

"You're gonna pay for that and I call dibs on the hat!" One of them states even as they pull out swords and try to start playing stab and slash with Angelo and Cole.

Up top side, a large demon, standing just over eight foot tall kicks down the door to the area that Balder and Angela are in and points, "Kill 'em!" He grumbles angrily as he shifts his wings against his back, his large horns twisting about his head like ram horns. Sevearl smaller demons rush past him with blades and go straight for Blader and Angela.

"I will not owe an Asgardian anything. I work for one named Camden. You wish to seek payment for your actions here, you seek them from him." Angela cuts one demon in half while a ribbon stabs into the chest of another. She glares at Balder while this happens before she changes her attention back to the large one and suddenly moaves in a blur that likely rivals Balder himself and kicks the demon back through the door he came from.
Angelo Tampambulos     "Never hurts to try talking before going right to lethal force." mutters Angelo towards Cole. He shakes his head and sighs as demons rush forwards, hissing their reply to his ultimatum. He advances forward with nothing but his hands and his street clothes.

As Cole shoots one, he lifts his left hand to ward off an incoming strike... a celestial bronze shield appearing on that arm. One forged by Hephaestus himself.

The demon's strike hits it and reverberates just as a spear of the same material appears in his right hand and armor and helmet cover his body just in time for him to skewer one of the demons on the enchanted spear made of metal that could wound the gods themselves. He starts to advance in increments, one step at a time.. using the shield to make space, and then the spear to empty that space.

Within seconds, he has half a dozen demons slain, and he goes so far as to kick the bowler hat ahead of him.. maybe the idiot demons will dive on it and make this easier.
Cole Cash "I think you missed the part where they were already fighting and setting the building on fire," retorts Cole. "Not that I have anything against talking," he shoots the first demon charging him, punching a big hole through his chest. "See? We are still talking. Although a 'kill 'em' is unoriginal as shit."

The second demon swings his sword, but Cole slides forward, avoiding the blade, and smashes a kheran metal knife on the demon's throat with his left hand. It works better than silver. Then he uses the corpse as shield whoe shooting a few more plasma bolts.
Balder Balder and Angela seem to fight side by side...at least for the moment. But why does Balder feel like they are about to be at each other's throats at any conceivable moment?

The large demon arrives and commands his forces to fight against the pair of gods, and Balder frowns at the opposition they face. "I do not believe talking is an option anymore." Was it -ever- an option? Even as the demons charge them, Balder lifts his weapon and meets them!

Three immediately fall from a swing of his axe, their hellfire bursting from their bodies in place of blood, but Angela seems to frustrate Balder more than a little bit.

"I care not for whatever gain I may possess from this. Midgard is under my protection, and these monsters do not belong here." Balder says simply enough to her, and a blast of light from his hand charges forth at the large demon who seems to be their commander.

"Beware the dawn!"
Angela A sigh escapes Angela and she rolls her eyes after she watches that beam of light fly into the next room to slam into the demon 'commander'. That demon gasps and stares at the hole in his big burly chest and goes down like nothing only to burst into hellfire himself and hten simply fade away. He was, after all, summoned in. The other demons are insanely brave. When the only punishment for dying is going back to where you came from, it is hardly a threat.

"The hat!" One of the demons calls out but isn't rushing for it, instead he rushes at Angelo, "You kicked what will be my hat!" And he tries to slice Angelo in two, despite the spear and shield.

"Fallback!" A demon calls from the door and races up a flight of stairs toward the eight floor where the two gods are fighting.

Meanwhile, a larger pair of dog like demons rush at Angela and Balder respectively.

"You Asgardians sicken me. Weakening others by giving things away." She slams down a blade into the floor and uses her free hand to catch the dog like beast by the neck and then drives the other blade into it. "You do not understand how the universe works!"
Angelo Tampambulos     Thousands of years of war have taught Angelo many things. Most importantly, the best way to move when fighting large groups. The shield lifts, and his torso twists just in time to let the demon's attack slide less than an inch from him even as he cracks the top half of his shield into the demon's face before pulling back the spear and running it through that self-same demon. But now that the enemies are in so close, he dismisses the spear and twists about.. using the shield to clear himself a little space.

Then the Xiphos sword swipes through another demon and he steps before Cole. "Perhaps use me as cover while you shoot. I'll hold them from you." he suggests as he does his best to bottleneck the demons in a doorway or the like.
Cole Cash "Sure, thanks," Cole never says not to meatshields. Not that he usually likes to sit still in a fight. But he brought guns to a sword-fight, so he feels pretty good about his chances. Those demons aren't that tough.

"Actually we should keep moving forwards," he suggests. "Sooner or later they are going to realize that staying to fight will just get them all killed and start to try to sneak away. I rather bag them all here."
Balder Balder watche sthe beam plug a hole in the 'commander' and watches him turn into naught but ash and hellfire. Balder frowns at the remains of the creature, a slight shake of his head. Almost...sadness and pity in his eyes. He didn't want to kill anything, but...well, life does not provide mercy to those who are unwilling to do what it takes. When Angela tries to insult him?

Balder swings his axe towards the beast's head that jumps at him, slicing the beast perfectly in half before he turns to look at her.

"There is no weakness in being kind. Requiring a gain before lifting a finger is how the world ends. It's an attitude of apathy, and to be apathetic may as well be a death before one's time."

Twirling his axe once more, he looks around then. "If you wish for your payment, then go and claim it. I am here to shine a different light."
Angela A smirk at him and she shakes her head, "Life is balance." She thekn finishes off one final creature even as Cole and Angelo are finishing theirs below. The one running up the stairs rushes into the room with Balder and Angela in it before screeching to a halt and turning quickly to run only to have a ribbon drive through his neck and then out of it. The bodies of the demons are already starting to melt into the nothing from which they came.

"If one does something for nothing, than there is no balance." And with that she heads for the stairs and starts down them.

"Asshole..." The last demon states to Cole as it is shot and it falls to the ground after having tried to get through Angelo's shield unsuccessfully.
Angelo Tampambulos     "I think we're good." remarks Angelo as the last demons falls. Then his ancient gear simply... fades away, leaving him in street clothes once more.

He turns to face Cole and nods his head, "Good to meet you though. Those are interesting weapons you have there. But.. thank you for the help today." That said, he turns to peer outside, and then up the stairs. "Everyone okay up there?!" he calls out.
Cole Cash "Something something for free. I hear a rich guy that doesn't pay the rent talking," comments Cole about Balder's altruistic purposes. The demon gets ignored, because 'sticks and stones... and I have this invulnerable guy between you and me'.

Looks like the demons are withdrawing, but he sneaks forward to sweep the building. He will take care of Jones after he pays Angela. Mercenary courtesy. Plus, she looks hot wearing that ridiculous not-armor.
Balder Planting the butt end of his Axe against the ground, Balder remained to ensure no demons were crawling about or threatened to originate elsewhere. With Angela seemingly believing him for a fool, Balder doesn't seem to mind, and remains firmly planted in his words and beliefs. "Farewell."

The call from below by Angelo gets a soft nod. "Aye! And what of below?!" His voice bellows like a battle drum.

Cole's words gain a tilt of the head. "...rent?"

He asks, as if he did not know the meaning of the word. Though he seems to leap away from the building, most likely to wherever else he was needed.
