Jemma Simmons The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Truer words have never been spoken. For, despite a certain agent's advancement to the next level, despite that agent's first foray as some sort of superhero, senior agent Jemma Simmons is in the one place she would be expected to be, doing the one thing expected of her.

Jemma is in the Research and Development lab, working on new designs. Big surprise, is it not?

However, it is what designs she has open that is the unique factor. These...are not necessarily in SHIELD's databases. Rather, it is the very same equipment that made its field debut, if one could call it that, in the two times that Jemma had it out. The case containing the overgrown chemistry lab kit is setting on a table, while the tactical suit is folded next to it. Jemma actually has the schematics up on the monitors, her eyes intent upon the screen as she peruses the designs. There is a way to make it better. To make it more compact, possibly. To make it easier to use.

And the specs of the tact suit are there on the screen, too. With additional modifications already being plotted. Inclusion of sensors to monitor vitals, with near field communications to whatever device chosen. Reinforcement of certain aspects, namely the shins and arms. And, look, there is even a thought to incorporating a mask, as silly as the idea first was with Jemma. The schematics still have it as a flat black...but even then there are options for changing the color.

Jemma really does believe in being prepared.
Jane Foster Someone working too hard in the lab needs an excuse to depart from the work they are consumed by. It makes the rest of SHIELD look bad, after all. Not that R&D isn't without considerable assets or agents committed to workaholic practices, or those boasting character traits that put obsessiveness or getting lost on a project near the top of the list. The organization appreciates those outcomes, they do.

But they also need to come up for air now and then.

In that respect, Jane comes down. Her existence in the Hayden Planetarium hasn't slowed any, and a slew of podcasts to record to make up for lost time. New subjects, fancy things like that. A bag on her hip bumps a steady cadence when she opts to traverse a switchback path for the lab, trusting in machines to scan her badge and let her through. Every day it works is a nice reminder. SHIELD is home in the Triskelion. She is at work in the building. All is right with the... okay, it's not, but that doesn't much matter.

"I haven't decided. Are you planning to create a safe suit or another Vision-like person?" she asks brightly.
Jemma Simmons "Well, the initial concept was a safe suit. Protection created with biological fibers thinner and stronger than conventional materials, which would then allow for the incorporation of such items as heart rate monitors and the like." The answer is rather matter-of-fact, though the smile upon Jemma's face as she turns around to regard Jane is all that is needed to show that, yes, Jemma is glad to see her. "But, I really do think that we would not want to tempt fate with making anything that I might create as sentient. It is widely documented in various respectable media. You know, such as Metropolis, Westworld, Blade Runner..."

The serious tone cannot last long, though, as Jemma accentuates her commentary with a laugh. "Really, though, it is good to see you, Jane." A hand waves towards the screen. "This is just me attempting to prepare for the next time I am asked to pretend to play superhero or some such nonsense."
Daisy Johnson Daisy had two guesses on where certain members of the Furiae could be:

#1: The R&D Lab at the Playground
#2: The R&D Lab at the Triskelion

There is a certain comfort in knowing some things rarely change. That for once they aren't being deemed as terrorists or being made to go into a virtual reality to fend off against a crazied AI. Has Daisy told you how much she hates AIs today?

So Quake makes her way into the labs, an apple in hand which she is tossing up and down on her way, a glance to the suit specs in display. "Do. Not. Create. Sentient. AI." There. Daisy's disclaimer of the day on how much she hates AIs. Right when they are talking about sentient suits!

"There's no nonsense about what we are doing, Jemms." a grin of greeting given to the two of them.
Jane Foster Yes, Jane speaks doctor too, mostly, even if her doctorate lies in a separate field more integrated with overall cosmology. Matters that sing to the soul rest in the sky for her, rather than in the microscopic, for the most part. "Have you been working on incorporating the higher tensile strengths with natural fibres rather than those artificially generated? I've seen some promising results with carbon fibres being extruded and reworked with goethite and graphene to see if they could incorporate the resilience of both, flexibility and adaptability with liquid crystal polymers being a close second. Though we use more of that on my side of the fence, if only for the high temperature resistance needed. Remove that and you can play around with quite a bit more."

Her hair bounces in curls as she tips her head in greeting to Jemma, fingers raised in a wave. The weekend seems to have meant sleep for Jane, a plus, or at least the kind of rest that usually tends to be heavily lacking. "You know that making anything sentient begs for societal overthrow? Greater wisdom for you than a Pym had, if memory serves. We're in a better space to avoid such things by prudent thought and self-control, right?"

Wouldn't that be a nice thought. Truly, it might. "Westworld is another show to add to the building list. Reasons to trust neither madams or theme parks. Did you know the Jurassic Park ticket was supposed to be $550 or so in the day? That would be like a $1,300 ticket now, as a matter of fact. The random things," Jane adds, "that you learn when you talk with other science wonks. Now you'll have to tell us what this really does."

Her fingers wiggle at the suit. "Does it handle temperature swings well? It seems like we need that." Crazed AIs are a thing today? Are they something that Daisy is worrying about? "I have no intention of creating anything sentient, nor encouraging our dearest Simmons here to do so. The only AI I want to see is an apple pie intelligence. And that means telling me what apples are in there."
Jemma Simmons The last question from Jane is the first to be answered by Jemma. "Well, biologically speaking, dragline silks from a typical spider can hold their strength from negative 40 degrees Celsius to up to 220 degrees. And, considering that the composition of the fabric is very nearly the same organic composition as dragline silk, I would estimate that we would have a similar range in temperature differences." A pause as Jemma collects her thoughts. "Now, that is not to say that the person wearing the suit would be able to withstand that sort of temperature, not without considerable modifications to the current design...but merely that the fabric itself will hold up. I haven't had the time to fully develop temperature dampeners into the overall design."

Jemma offers a weak smile. "I'm a doctor, not a seamstress, I am afraid."

But then her attention turns towards the newcomer, and the smile, if it was possible to become brighter, does so. "Well, when you send a text and tell me to bring a mask, I would start to wonder. I mean, really, did you see May's getup? Someone was watching too much Star Wars when that was dreamed up." Oh yes, Jemma caught the motif, certainly. "As it was, with the group you had assembled, dear Daisy, I was almost unnecessary. Quite a few individuals who could probably hold their own equally as well if not better than me."

The eyes drop, as the smile twists into a knowing little smirk. "Not that it wasn't fun. But, still, it was painfully apparent that Jane and I were most likely the most vulnerable in that little foray. Something I wish to correct, if you have any intention of asking me to play dress up again..."
Daisy Johnson "I still got to ask her *where* she got that outfit. Really, it's like she was going to a convention. But ..., it looked rather sturdy too so ..." Questions to be answered later. Because now? Daisy busies herself biting down on the apple she is carrying. No apple pie intelligence for this one but death by being eaten! It's perhaps a good thing never to give apples intelligence. Or pies!

"I might have the intention of asking again, yes. If you were interested." Daisy then replies to Jemma, making her way further into the room to peek around. "Is Fitz sleeping in his tent again?" then a grin to Jane. "All in all it was a successful mission. Dante is currently under observation, hopefully he will be able to tell us something soon. I don't suppose there's yet any results on the sample?"

The yucky black virus sample!
Jane Foster "Accommodating up to two-twenty isn't bad, since anything past that would require suppression systems to deal with fire at this rate. Probably too much bulk for the tradeoff that you end up with, using such a design. I can't see how you would be able to work that in without adding different chemicals for fireproofing or fire retardants, and that might work against the overall effect," Jane considers aloud, though she still looks between Jemma and her spider-ware, seeing how it might be integrated. Spider-Jem, Spider-Jem, doing whatever a secret SHIELD scientist does. The hum is not in her throat, only her head.

"You don't need to take that as a negative, Jems. It looks lovely so far, and you have an advantage for being to hit the field with fewer risks. That's important. Specifically being able to maneuver and navigate without hazards from environmental situations," she adds. The slip of her smile widens with a Furiae reunited, and she raises a finger. "Masks are so in this year. I thought I might have to go Zorro, but instead we have a few other things in mind. Big sunglasses should be enough, I'm still arguing that."

Because big sunglasses and hoodies are the way to be! "My job is staying out of the line of fire, I think you well know. By and large you need me for analysis, not punching things in the face. I really want to know where she acquired that outfit too. Is May part of that Unit... whatever number it is? The Star Wars people?" Her lips lift again, stifling a laugh. Someone -is- in a good mood after all. "Why is Fitz in a tent? Don't tell me it's germs or something. And the sample -- that I needed to find out about. I would certainly be happy to throw it through any spectrometry sequences I have, since learning its chemical composition couldn't hurt. Identifying if it's extraterrestrial will be near the limit of what we know. Not like I can pop to someone Shi'ar or Kryptonian and ask for a sample. Not that I imagine Superman, for example, would be unwilling. But that feels off."
Jemma Simmons The absence of Fitz is certainly noticed. And Jemma has an appropriate answer. "No, no tent this time. At least, not in the laboratory proper. I cannot be certain if he decided to sleep in the storage area again, though." The smile falters, somewhat, but only slightly. There might be some concern there for her colleague, but Jemma isn't going to say so out loud.

Then...a shift towards Jane. Back to the design specifics. "Oh, no, I would imagine extreme temperatures will require specialized versions. I would daresay that a 240 degree window for proper operation should be more than adequate for most missions. Anything more and the internal biomonitoring layer would cease to function entirely anyways. Though, I was considering how well it would defend against biological hazards. The request for a mask did prompt for a design change to include an appropriate option." And...indeed, the mask option does look a lot like what Jemma sported before, only more seamless into the suit itself. "Honestly, though, it is a work in progress."

Then, Daisy gets her turn. "You know you sincerely do not need to ask me, Daisy. If you need me, I will of course go. Even with a silly mask. And your equally silly codenames." A tip of the wink there. Jemma is teasing. "Though, really, if so, then I think I would be remiss if I did not differentiate this..." an indication to the bio-tact suit on the table..."...from standard SHIELD gear. It is very much similar now, in design. Though, it would require buy-in from higher ups, I would suppose...."

Oh...but the call of research analysis beckons! And that is a proper way to distract Jemma from such frivolous things as how she is supposed to look like a superhero. "Oh, yes! The samples!" A flick of the fingers and the latest sample is brought to bear on the screen. Another flick and Blackagar's sample is brought up next to it. "It is definitely the same substance as what infected Blackagar. Further analysis with the portable lab was compared with detailed analysis of the sample from this Dante...and the genetic markers are identical." Well....that is one way to prove that Jemma's lab-in-a-box works. "All the details check out. Kree-made. Keyed to identify particular RNA segments that are unique to Inhuman physiology. Neural transmitter blockers to inhibit rational thought while neural enhancers to amplify the aggression centers of the brain. It is a one for one match. No doubt in my mind."
Daisy Johnson The break on the smile is noted by Daisy. Of those that had been taken in the Framework he was one of those that had suffered, and perhaps the only one so far she had yet to talk with. Which was not a good thing at all, "Might be Fitz just needs a little time to get reacquainted with the Triskelion.." another bite on her apple, hip resting against a table because she is so cool.

"It's not exactly a question of needing you, Jemms. I will *always* need you. The question here is if *you* want to be a part of it or not." Because there seems to be a big difference in Daisy's mind about those two things. And another bite.

"And Jane has the right idea. Not everyone needs to go out there like Witchblade and blaze through every enemy. We all have different abilities and skills, not everyone has to be Superman for it to work." A grin on her expression. "I believe we have Shi'ar on base now. Maybe we can ask him. I saw it on the logs." a beat, she poking on a tablet. "Yea, Michael Erickson."

With Jemma then bringing up the research she is going through her gaze goes to it. "That they have appeared in such wildly different places bears concern." she finally says. "Assuming Dante was in Madeira when he got infected." a sigh. "We will have to talk to both him and Blackagar about this." eyes then resting on Jane, "Has Blackagar recovered fully?"
Jane Foster "Sufficient operational range, at least anywhere you can hope to be here," Jane muses over the details. "I don't expect you to be involved in closed space entries, for one, or in underwater conditions. So no need to worry too much about thermal layering that can withstand the temperature variations you would expect in the High Arctic or on a drilling platform, a mine, or something. We shouldn't really be worrying too much about those locales, since functionally most of us would be fairly limited in what we could do there. Probably best to ask, if a drone or a robot would be the better option, then do I need a suit or can I use someone more convenient?"

Important questions that probably don't need to be secondarily asked since Jemma thinks of these things all the time. "I'd look into something enhancing your ability to scale walls or hold onto surfaces. Less Spider, more rare earth magnet option you could use as a counter. Something mobile would be helpful for rapid deployment and give you several different contact points if you wanted?" It's not like she thinks about these things, or knows the weight of how they might be used for sensors, nope. "I've got to work on my kit to miniaturize a few of the designs for reading the anomalies and temporal fields. I put them on hold and they feel like my only trick out there. Time to find more useful applications of cosmology and astrophysics. Alas, the combat uses of my branch of physics tend to be limited unless someone is afraid of starlight or existential crises knowing other worlds exist."

Oh Jane. One day! One day the bastion of numbers will freak out or something. That will be perfectly suitable, then. Oh no! Fitz and beckoning of analysis! Run, run away while they still can. There isn't a smile as the parsed facts about the virus produce a darkening of her brown eyes, the cornerstone hint of a frown sliding into place. "Going out on a limb here, but are there genetic markers that reliably establish an Inhuman against a mutant or a human? Because I know there's a gene for mutants that is standard and stable, even if the manifestations wildly vary. Is that true otherwise?" Her mouth flattens. Breath stops and swivels. Kree made?

Hello, Undrjarn, time for a long and damn pointed conversation. "We might want to talk to Carol, if it's Kree. I think we have some information in the databases about them, but not much, do we? You'd think I of all people know about aliens, but clearly that's time to improve that. Note to self, be extra alien friend. I'll speak with one of the Kryptonians if they would be willing to see what they know. And our Asgardian friends. Thor probably knows something, or barring him, Lady Sif. Blackagar is recovering though the process is slow, not helped a great deal by the ambient damage inflicted on him. Deeper lake takes longer to refill, basically, something like that? I'm afraid the colloquialism did not translate easily as a concept, gine the Moon doesn't exactly -have- lakes."
Jemma Simmons "Well, I did not intend to incorporate any sort of Spider theme. It is just that spider silk itself is highly durable. It was just, until recently, also incredibly difficult to produce. This is more a proof-of-concept prototype than any serious attempt at trying to replicate someone with actual Spider powers. Goodness knows we have enough of those around New York." Oh, there is that smile again. "However, in terms of climbing, I could perhaps derive a solution with my laboratory setup. I had intended it to not only be able to perform research and identify while out in the field, but also to potentially fabricate particular compounds while on the fly. If there was a need for a particularly adhesive surface, I believe it would not be all that difficult to produce that with the preparations I have here. Though, honestly, I have not attempted to try that, yet."

There might be just the slightest of blush to Jemma's cheeks when Daisy says she will always need her. Which is to say that there is a definite rouge there. And, really, there is only one answer that Jemma could possibly give. "Of course, Daisy. I would love to be."

Then it is back to the matter at hand. "Well....there may be more information about Kree genetics than you might think. Though, it *does* require a little more access. Unless you have personal knowledge." Yes, it does seem that Jemma may have more information. And certainly, that information is restricted. "As far as genetic markers...yes, if you know where to look, there are most certainly certain markers that can be identified with a fair degree of accuracy. With Inhuman or Mutant, there are certainly differences. With mutants, it is the X gene. With Inhumans, it is a similar gene, but dormant. More like it is missing RNA coding to enact it. The terrigenesis process essentially adds in the portion that is needed. For those that are familiar with the genetic roadmap, it is identifiable. Though both are certainly recessive." Jemma turns to regard the sample on the screen. "But yes, if we feel that it is better to pull in outside sources for their insight, I fully recommend that."
Daisy Johnson "Well, maybe it's lakes waiting to be filled?" Daisy suggests to Jane with a faint grin, "But I have always been a glass half-full kind of girl." optimist! "Then maybe it's time to figure out your codename, Jemma. Or should we call you Poppins?" majority vote wins!

Still her smile is somewhat teasing, she finishing her apple at last and tossing it into the nearest trash can. Score! WNBA time.

"Same with Red Widow, Jane." A glance, "You aren't even a redhead!" She clearly seems to take naming seriously. It's like branding!

But talk about Inhuman gene and mutant one has her nodding. She was aware of that already. "There are differences indeed." she says. "And from what my Mother said, something related to the Kree. But she is evasive as usual. Maybe I will have to be more pressing next time I go to New Afterlife." a shake of her head given.
Jane Foster "I'm going to hum some kind of arachnid song behind you at least once. Maybe Itsy Bitsy Spider." Jane doesn't in the last doubt her capacity for that elegant tune, the delicate footfalls up the scales and down again certain to provide the necessary brave entry music for Jemma incognito. "You could ask Jessica for some practice with acrobatics if you wanted, or Sara. Both of them are quite supple and fast, aren't they? They might be able to rigorously beta test your suit on the course, and see where they go. How is your laboratory setup going to fabricate compounds? Are you going to carry live chemicals in there that simulate distillations, or are we talking full on alchemy? Metal alchemy?"

Her eyes glitter with amusement, only for a few seconds, but undeniably warm all the same. No teasing Jemma, not the way Daisy does. But her head tilted in the Inhuman hacker's direction comes with a laugh. "That's one hell of a pitch. Have you thought about marketing? Smooth, that's all I have to say about that. No wonder you're the Moon Princess."

"Access is part and parcel of the job, and still in progress. I'm supposed to ask you how to escalate my position in the organization." With that bombshell of approximately one nanogram delivered, she circles around to better examine the pair of women without being in the way. Hands come down on a table and she leans back a little. "Outside sources might be useful, though they may ask why. That said, I am pretty sure me asking for science might get somewhere. Specifically the activation of the genetic structure implies a biochemical change, which isn't that new, but exposure of the terrigen crystal has to bring that out. The RNA isn't distorted or erratic enough to make screening impossible, right? Then what you are saying is that conceivably we have a genetic timebomb on our hands if the information falls into the wrong hands, being able to identify and target people with dormant or active Inhuman genetics. This thing preys on them if they are -active-, correct? Would it be able to use it if that were dormant? The reason I ask is whether HYDRA scientists came to the same conclusion and might be isolating their targets, as they had more than adequate time to do other forms of testing on them. If so, we might have to look to that as a feasible delivery for targets. If not, we need to make sure it can't be misused by anyone else."

She shakes her head slightly. "Stargazer may be my code name here, but I'm certainly not committed to Red Widow. It worked for the time as a misleading idea. I love David Bowie but Darkstar's probably off the table or any of the other star variants are equally a bit telling. Are you suggesting different names? I'm willing to hear you out. Maybe."

She rolls her heel slightly back and forth, then tugs on her hair. "You realize I can dye this, you know. Not exactly hard to do, though I might want to ask for opinions before I go changing it up too much. And Daisy, I'm keeping an eye on him. Fear not, he had his fair share of pizza and time to sleep somewhere safe, I think."
Jemma Simmons Cue one exaggerated eye-roll, followed by a giggle. "Oh, I do not think I am going to do anyone any favors by trying to be acrobatic. I am certainly no Agent Romanoff. Nor am I going to pretend that I am." No, Jemma is certainly no poser. "Although, the idea to have some of our more agile agents test the fabric would be certainly welcome. The idea is to certainly be lighter without sacrificing protection."

Continuing, Jemma taps the lab case. "I had considered carrying live chemicals. That was in the initial thought. However, I am not sure exactly how feasible that is. It would mean that I would need to carry at least a little bit of every element, in order to facilitate the distillations. Of course, full fledged alchemy is outside of my purview, at least for the moment. This isn't the middle ages, after all. Though, maybe if we used the concept in conjunction with Pym Particles..."

Oh...that tone is so familiar to the two. Jemma is about to go off on one of her tangents. Fortunately, Jemma herself catches her thoughts before they run away on her, only to turn to Daisy. "Oh, I really don't know on the codename, Daisy. I mean, I haven't had devoted any time for any serious consideration as of yet. I was more concerned with ensuring I would be of any use...and not necessarily what I would be called."

Oh...but now that is a tantalizing thought. "Would the virus work on non-awakened Inhumans? That...is a fascinating question...." Oh no....again with that far-away tone! This time, Jemma acts on it...her hands creeping to the tablet on the table to run diagostic testing to see....
Jane Foster What has Jane Foster done? Not the first question she's had the opportunity to raise. "We need to consider if they can find people or affect them. If a whole swathe of the population stands at risk, then we have to account for that. The last thing we want to see is the sudden felling of people around us. I don't know how many we could expect, surely not a large number, but our whole purpose is stopping mutantkind or Inhumans from being harmed by things like rogue viruses and targeted bioweapons."

Her gaze still follows Jemma through the room, as Daisy takes her leave to work on something critical, or more so than hanging about in a lab. "Show me the results for that? Is there a chance it activates off a protein or presence of a specific marker?" She leans forward to look to see what might be made from the research, skimming gracefully down the glass from a distance. "I hate feeling helpless like this. Helpless at least in that I wish I had more to contribute, but it will be directing conversations by the look of it. Is there anything else you need from me?"
Jemma Simmons "I do believe I can pinpoint the exact trigger mechanism. And, once I have that, I should be able to see if that particular trigger is present in non-awakened Inhumans. I want to say that it is a protein marker that is only presence once the necessary chain is built with the exposure to the terrigen crystals, but I cannot be certain without testing." Those fingers are flying, as information scrolls across the screen. From all appearances, it appears to be a map of Inhuman DNA, the double helix a telling sign. There is a section that Jemma is looking at specifically...and comparisons to other models are pulled up. All at a speed that is rather blinding.

Hesitation grips Jemma. "Oh, Jane, I didn't see Daisy go. This....this is going to take some time. I wouldn't want to keep you from anything you need to do. I promise, the moment I get an answer, I will contact you. You are absolutely right. We need to understand this more...and isolated incidents may become mass panic. I swear I will let know know as soon as I know anything. Otherwise, you are certainly welcomed to stay."
Jane Foster "It would seem quite odd to construct something that targets dormant genetics as well as active ones, but not the first time in history for that to happen. We've got evidence then this is a Kree origin, then, at least from the start? That has to bring a particularly troubling angle from the way Daisy was talking about it, since I don't believe they have a positive relationship." Jane tips her fingers to her knee, glancing at the map of the DNA, gazing rather sharply along the described biological markers that Jemma navigates like Andretti around a hairpin turn. "That gives us a starting point, though not why it happened. Who released it. There are still unfortunate glaring holes in our background, like if there happens to be a delivery by person, technological component, whatever the case may be. A random seeding or scattering deliberately over hotspots could be a different problem than someone who was on site and activating it. That would give us a reason to worry about how they're tracking the existing Inhumans. Or if they are using them at all, or seeding something."

Her nose wrinkles. "I hate the idea of that. A latent trap trailing like the arms of a jellyfish, some kind of man-o-war, and entangling anyone who happens across it." Bit vehement about that, her back straightens and she breathes out, rolling her shoulders. "I can get in contact with him, if you need to quickly. Is the young man, Dante, well? And what are the chances we could generate an antidote to the blocker?"
Jemma Simmons Apparently, when one has a network of super computers at one's beck and call, then complicated genetic mapping and research doesn't take as long as one would expect. Jemma taps on screen, drawing a circle around one of the many rungs on the DNA spiraling ladder, then a matching spot on two other models. On one, it is completely blank, as if the rung never existed while on the other, there is only half a step present. "Found the key. Here..." Jemma pauses, pulling up the data from the virus she already gleaned...then runs a simulation on how the virus' structure impacts with each model. "It is specific to dormant genetics."

Jemma launches into an explanation. "The virus is triggered to work in conjunction with a specific RNA chain in order to release its full potential. That particular chain only occurs here, with full Inhumans." The tap on the single rung highlighted. "There is no other sequence within the helix that would work for the virus. It...it appears to work in a similar fashion, as if the virus itself needs to go through terrigenesis in order to fully develop. Which, would make sense. If it needs the specific catalyst of terrigen to activate, then awakened Inhumans would of course have that catalyst within their genetic code after chrysalis. Dormant Inhuman genetics would not react because they lack the same catalyst."

The data continues to process. However, Jemma is not looking at it. Instead, she is theorizing, her head tilted to the side, her eyes staring into the distance as she thinks. "There are two ways we could combat this. One is to mask the catalyst, somehow. Cause it so the virus does not detect the presence of terrigen, or at least the specific RNA markers, so that it is never fully activated. The other is to prevent the neuro blockers from taking hold. It is all a very delicate balance...and if we tamper with that, even slightly, it should be enough. Perhaps working on retaining the ability to reason would be enough to override the increased aggression."

But, the big question. Can it be counteracted? Neutralized? "Now that we have a better understanding, I don't see why we cannot provide an antidote. Why, introducing oxytocin will combat aggressive behavior, since...is it?" Tap, tap, tap. "Yes! Part of the affect is impaired functioning of the oxytocinergic system! We stabilize the hypothalamic hormone levels and we take away the increased aggression...."

It seems that Jemma is on the road to discovery.
Jane Foster Just what Jane really didn't want to hear, her own second worst case situation for the Kree-devised virus coming around. "Does a dormant Inhuman have the capacity to carry this, though? Or do you think it's possible the Inhumans SHIELD rescued while I was... away..." A pause for the right word there, since 'dead' is such a terminal term. "Would they have possibly been infected, even if they had abilities that emerged, to take the virus back to their communities? I'm speculating on vectors because we need some idea of how this came into the general population at first. Why was Dante in Madeira? Why was Blackagar headed north? Because you're seeding the potential this virus could be transmitted any number of ways and have an asymptomatic group, at least as one option. At least if the virus can sit there to develop, the means to jumpstart that production could have someone moving around undetected. Or they are detected, but then the load doesn't overwhelm them completely from the get-go."

Jemma's pretty picture of a helix earns a gesture, fingers flicked at the shape. "That I suppose would also explain why Blackagar was so badly affected. Could there be any connectino to the /maturity/ of the DNA, as well? The terrigen process happens rapidly as I understand, though you're the one who went through the Framework before. Not so much me. Rather miss all the fun, don't I?" The smirk is a tease, though honest in its way. "However, it may be that the full propagation and settling of an Inhuman's DNA and RNA after terrigenesis could still have an impact on the virus. If it's in flux, are the symptoms and the decline as pronounced with a target who has a stable genetic code? What if their genetic ability is a genetic malleability or augmentation? Like, I hesitate to use this with you, but a shapeshifter? Interesting to contemplate how well that would work, if the rung you've described still exists with them or if they have the capacity to mask it at all when they adopt their form. Something to keep an eye out for, if there is a way to veil the markers already present in their own society that would in turn not offend their sensibilities."

Diplomatic measures are, in the end, fairly diplomatic and cautiously approached. The brunette tilts her head. "The problem with the neuro blockers is that if the inhibitions are lowered but reason is retained, you're still dealing with a competent combatant. I've seen some of the footage with the fights involving Inhumans. They hit hard and show capability, now add your tactical advantages of being in command of your powers and skills, but with a juiced up sense of rage. Is that something we want to combine? A thought. And honestly I'm wandering in circles around the options for how to diminish it. The virus is still from out there. Are there any elements that we can introduce that it reacts to for a lack of familiarity or exposure? Obviously once in the host, that's a bit more limiting, but we might want to explore whether it absolutely cannot tolerate a bit of acidity or something."
