Eve Wilkins The high school is right by the Happy Harbor Community Pool, and given it doesn't see much use during the day while school is in session, the school contracts with the pool for occasional use by their classes.

Today is one of those days, with the physical education classes held over at the community pool. A chance to do water safety and swim lessons. And just generally get the students some exercise.

Like the rest of the class, Eve changes in the white building and then steps outside. The redhead is wearing a one piece suit that is flattering, the fabric covering her chest and bottom meeting over her navel but leaving the sides of her waist bared. She only has a light tan, the redhead just doesn't tan that darkly. She walks over to the big pool, dangling a foot down to get her toes into the water to see how warm it is. "Not too bad," she says.
Lara Croft Lara didn't sign up to be a physical education teacher at the school, but the usual was out for personal reasons. Since she has an extensive background in this kind of thing, Lara offered to help with the class today. She brought a number of the students over to the pool and ushered them to the changing area to get ready and get back out by the pool to do a few basic things, though she would be more than happy for those who are experienced to just... enjoy some exercise out in the sun.

WEaring a one piece suit herself, of black, Lara has a pair of silver sport shorts on over the suit and a pair of aviator sunglasses on over her eyes. The British teacher is standing beside the pool with one hand on her hip and the other on a whistle that she blows to get the students to line up.

"Okay, so I'd like you to separate yourselves in to groups. One over here..." She motions to her left. "For inexperienced swimmers. If you're new to water and water safety. Over here." She motions before her and to the right. "If you're confident that you know how to swim for prolonged laps within the water...."
Mark Grayson You know how like, literaly everyone who isn't a megajock, bodybuilder, or all-around musclehead genuinely hates PE? Yeah, that's where Mark was at. He was never the strongest, the fastest, or an impressive athlete.

Until about two days ago.

Rumor has it a new, unnamed superhero has been making the rounds, helped save a kid from being hit by a car. Even if his costume made him look like a weird outlaw rather than an actual superhero, so his status was unknown.

But here Mark is, smiling from ear to ear. He is wearing simple blue knee-length swim trunks He wore a black t-shirt and his hair seemed newly cut (see his appearnce in the show). He sees Eve and he seems to drool a little bit. Hot girl summer amirite? After staring for a bit too long, he clears his throat and approaches. "Hey Eve!" He hesitates.

"Uh, I'm allowed to greet you normally, right? Popularity hierarchies are weird and unclear." He smiles at her. "Is the water cold?"

Mark then looks towards Lara as she seems to separate into groups. Makr was an experienced swimmer, having done a lot of travelling to islands thanks to Nolan's (cough cough superhero cough cough) travelling agency. He takes off his shirt then, revealing muscles upon muscle that one wouldn't expect to see a kid like Mark possess.

Slim muscle much? He looks to Eve. "Want to dominate this swim thing?"
Albert Rothstein Albert Rothstein is a PE teacher, but his field is more the contact sports type physical education, but he also teaches shop. Luckily Lara was drafted for teaching the class, but the large man has one a bit later in the day and has heard the pool was having a few problems with their pumps. So wearing a pair of black shorts and a black shirt with the sleeves cut out Mr. Rothstein shows up at the pool toolbox in hand. He looks over to the students and Lara and nods. Walking over to Lara and says "Going to take a look at their pumps, may have to swap over to the backups, but should nod be any problems for you guys using it."
Eve Wilkins Eve looks up as Mark Grayson comes over to her. After he makes the comment about greeting her normally, she shoots back at him, "Hey Mike. Good to see you." Eve keeps a straight face for about three seconds before she lets leak out a smile that lets out that she messed up his name on purpose. Probably for the popularity hierarchy comment.

"Nah, the water is nice," she tells him. Anything else she might have been about to say is cut short though as Lara Croft blows the whistle, drawing the students attentions her way. Those who weren't already paying attention to her, as many of the boys in class probably were.

"I guess that means you're in the experienced group?" Eve comments to Mark as she heads over that way herself. So does Todd, star linebacker on the football team. He gently shoves another kid out of the way - one who is on the chess team not the football team - as he goes over towards the experienced group before pausing and asking Lara, "Which group are you going to be working with, Miss Croft?"
Lara Croft Lara lowers the whistle down to her chest and holds on to it as the kids form up in to groups as she described. Her eyes, covered by her sunglasses, go to Albert and she smiles softly at him. "Thank you for the help you're providing. Let us know what we can do, or need to do to make your work easier." She tells him in her foreign accent.

She looks back to see the groups mostly formed, Todd approaching her to ask that question. She smirks softly at him. "I'll be helping the inexperienced students get some time in with the basics while the experienced students can have a free swim for the time being, though I would prefer they do laps and NO rough housing." She states, giving the group in the Experienced section a seconds stare.
Mark Grayson "Harsh." Mark smirks to Eve a moment as she seems to playfully forget his name. "Not too cold? Sweet. It's not that hot out today, so it'd really suck if this was an ice bath." He huffs slightly, but notices Albert seemingly working on the pumps. "Thanks Mr. Roth!" -stein. He forgot the stein.

Of course, Lara Croft was like the mega-hot teacher that pricks like Todd thought he was going to be able to work with. Mark just gives Todd a clearly disapproving look. "I hate that guy." Mark whispers in aside to Eve. It's okay though, because Todd hates his guts too.

"Guess that means we're in the experienced section." he nods to her approvingly, following along with the redhead as he seems to get ready to enter the water.
Albert Rothstein Albert Rothstein will give Todd a look as well, and says to the group in general "Anyone who acts up better like running laps as well, in their next class with me." He saw the jock push the other student and did not approve. He give the group a final look and heads over to the pump. He is still with sight and earshot of those here but lets Lara handle them for now.
Eve Wilkins Todd starts for the inexperienced group after Lara's answer, but after the look from Mr. Rothstein - who likely knows Todd quite well - he sighs and goes over to the experienced group as well.

Eve watches the exchange then looks to Mark. "No William today, he still out sick?" she asks as she joins the experienced group with Mark and Todd.

"Miss Croft, are we ever going to get a swim team?" Eve asks the teacher as she sets her towel aside and goes over to the water's edge. Other students are already hopping in the water, and one or two are pushed in despite the admonition about too rough of horseplay.

Eve will wait for Lara's answer before she turns and dives into the water. She lets the dive carry her to the bottom, touching it with her hands before righting herself and pushing off to glide back up to the surface.
Lara Croft Lara affords Albert a thankful expression for his assistance with the rowdy ones. She knows it's only in the nature of the children to do that sort of stuff though. "The more help the better." She does add for Albert though. Her eyes go to watch the Jock in Todd make his initial choice which gets another smirk from her, but when he changes his mind she nods once before looking at the experienced swimmers. "If you see that any of you might not be quite so truthful in your skill, please help each other out, don't let any fears put your safety at risk. We're here for fun and exercise, ultimately."

She then looks to Eve and smiles quickly at her. "You know, I'm not certain about that. If it's something you'd like to spearhead, I believe you could go to the main office and put in a suggestion with the Staff. Enough interest could be drummed up in the student body... and you never know, you could be the team Captain." She shows a quick grin before turning to the inexperienced, younger students.... mostly younger anyway, there's always those older ones who just never swam much.

"Okay, experienced swimmers are over there." She points to the open swim section of the pool. "The rest of you are with me!" She motions for them to follow her toward the shallow end where there are steps setup to get in to the water.
Mark Grayson HAH! Todd got told. Mark low-key looks over at the kid who got shoved, just to make sure he was alright. He knows full well how hard you can get shoved, especially by that prick.

Mark looks over at Eve and he shakes his head. "Yeah, Will is still at home. Apparently he caught the funk pretty good. I'm thinking he'll be back next week at the latest. Then again, he also didn't go to the doctor like he should've." He gestures in a 'Whatcha gonna do' kind of way before he hops in the water just in time for Eve too.

"Dang, it's like your a dolphin. That was majestic as hell." Mark grins her way, though his attention turns to Lara. "A swim team is usually really popular. Worth a shot right?"

Then he totally gives a secret thumbs up to Mr. Rothstein for telling it to Todd, same for Lara.
Albert Rothstein Albert Rothstein takes his time getting to work on the pump. He makes sure the back up is working before switching over. Al is a pretty good mechanic, and after just a few minutes and a minor Macgyverism he has the main pump working right. He will let staff know it should be fine for a few days and what part they need. Then he will head inside the shower/changing area cleaning up any grease off himself. He then steps back out to the pool area. He will move to sit at one of the chairs near the pool once he is sure it will support his weight. He will give it a bit see if Lara needs any help since he has the rest of the period off and is here for his next class.
Eve Wilkins Eve Wilkins treads water while tipping her head back, the long red hair smoothing out atop her head as she briefly dips it into the water. "Oh, I don't know that I'd be very good for it. Maybe I'd try out. Or just show up to cheer them on anyway," Eve replies to Lara.

As Albert finishes with the pump, Eve offers, "Thank you for fixing it, Mr. Rothstein." She looks back to Mark then, giving him a small grin. "So long then, and thanks for all the fish," she tells him, before turning towards the far end of the pool.

The teen begins swimming freestyle, just taking her time rather than trying to go fast. As she swims along, Todd and two of us buddies go past, splashing about and kicking up more waves, racing each other to the far end.
Lara Croft Lara steps over toward the area where she was taking the inexperienced group of students. "Okay. Just get in to the pool and start your breathing exercises. I want you to just get acclamated to the water temperature before we delve in to the basics." The teacher says before she steps over to the lounge chair beside the pool to step out of those silver shorts she was wearing to set them aside on the arm of the chair.

After that is handled she makes her way to the water and is stepping down in to it herself when she notes the rough housing from Todd and his gang.

The whistle is blown again! "Mr. Dodson!" She shouts to Todd across the distance. "Go sit over at the tables!" Ooooooh, Todd Dodson is taken out of the game!

Lara looks back to where Mark and Eve were. "Well, if Eve isn't up for the Captain spot on a team, maybe you'd qualify, Mr. Grayson." She says with a quick smile before she heads to the students who need help with the baaaasics.
Mark Grayson "Hey! Wait up!" Mark seems to immediately give chase as free swimming for the experienced kids are being put in full display. "C-Captain?! Thats a massive change in my social life you know?? I mean, that'd be really cool though." He dives into the water and swims after Eve.

"I'll think about it! I'd totally do it, but life is crazy!" Mark calls to Lara.

Then Todd gets the boot and Mark just starts laughing. internally of course. he's not that stupid.
Albert Rothstein Albert Rothstein will stand and walk over to talk to Todd. The big man tries his best to impress the whole being kind to people with his classes, and also will remind Todd. Picking on smaller kids is not a smart thing at this school, you never know who might have abilities beyond what they look like. "If you have extra energy you need to burn off Todd, you can come to my boxing classes, but I expect even stricter behavior from those students.
Eve Wilkins The student who got pushed earlier mumbles beneath his breath, "Because that's what Todd needs. To learn how to hit people better." And Todd might be thinking that too, as he says, "You do boxing lessons, Mr. Rothstein? That actually sounds really good." He gives a grin at the thought.

Eve reaches the far end of the pool, doing a kick turn like the swimmers in the Olympics do, if not nearly as smooth or as fast, and then coasts underwater for a bit before coming back up. She swims down to the end she started from and stops there, leaning back against the side of the pool. When Mark catches up, Eve says, "See, you've got the whole athlete thing going now." Which is probably about the opposite as how people at school see Mark.
Lara Croft Lara is of course spending time now helping some of the students who claimed they can't swim do just that. She's testing some of them out, having them take turns swimming to her and back to her in the shallow end. She does occasionally glance over to Albert and Todd before looking over to the Experienced swimmers.

She calls out to those Super Duper Good Swimmers. "Lets see some more laps, less loitering!" Because its best to be a hard ass teacher, right? She's new at this, and didn't even go to public school herself!

Her eyes go back to the ones she's directly helping and she sets them up some swimming buddies to do the same kind of exercises back and forth to each other.
Mark Grayson "Amen to that." Mark goes for the high-five to the guy dissing Todd.

Eve gets a tilt of the head from Mark. "Wow, you think I'm athletic?" Mark totally does a few flexes in total admiration of himself. Though he goes to swim alongside Eve..but he pushes off the wall a little too hard, flying right past Eve abd ends up halfway in the pool. "Blegh, blegh!"

Mark spits out water that he just choked on. Right. Super strength, gotta be much more careful.
