Julie Power '''The Serendipity''' was a large yacht that once belonged to a shipping magnate in Gotham. After the quake, his business crashed in the resulting No Man's Land order, and the yacht was siezed in the bankruptcy. And while there are large yellow '''No Trespassing''' signs all over the place, it didn't stop word from getting out to one of Gotham's affluent high school that they were going to hold a rave there. Which is why the ship is lit up at the moment, with teenagers milling about as dub-step music plays on the quarterdeck, and several teens have snuck in drinks and such.

One of the teens has found one of the emergency kits on the ship, and fired off a flare, sending it high into the air as it illuminates the ship in a dull orange glow as they laugh and cackle and go back to dancing and partying. The police haven't been alerted yet, and it was really a low risk priority for them. Kids having fun, even in it's an illegal area isn't exactly 'send out SWAT' worthy.
Phoebe Beacon     Phoebe had been hanging back. of course she had heard of the party -- who in Gotham hadn't? -- but she knew most of them would be partaking in substances that her powers would deminish effects, and thus she quietly waited.

Tonight she was again The Gotham Beacon. She wore a light gray jacket, hood drawn up, a white scarf over her lower face and a white domino over her eyes and nose. she crouched on one of the buildings nearby the boat, watching the revellers carefully... and questioning some choices in the music as it booms over the harbor.
Rose Wilson It's not a priority for the police, because in Gotham, there is just too much madness to try and contain, and kids will be kids. Right?

Rose isn't exactly the teenage party sort, but boredom leads to a lot of bad decisions on some people's part. Just maybe not her, in the classical sense. Oh, she's at the party, or rather, on the boat. When that flare went up it illuminated a white-haired figure on the roof of the yacht's navigational area, and anyone paying close attention might wonder why there's a masked teenager with two swords just chilling.
Julie Power The flare draws in another. While she was just out flying because she wanted to fly for a little bit and think about her upcoming days, Julie Power, otherwise known as Lightspeed, is cruising across the sky, a rainbow trail following her as she twists, mulling over a suggestion made to her. ''Ever think about making Sky Art'' Mary Bromfield has asked her. And she was considering that when she saw the flare. "Don't respond, not your issue..." then she sighs, turning as the young woman starts to make her way to '''Serendipity'''.

As that is going on, a submarine pulls up to the dock. Disembarking from the submarine are four men dressed in pirate uniforms and carrying submachine guns. As they move, they use the fences that the teens pressed through to get to the yacht are now used to herd the kids in as another man follows after them.

The last man is large, muscular and heavy set, bearded with an eye-patch, as he ignites an energy cutlass that glows ominously. "Avast, ye children!" he calls out to the teens over a megaphone. "You are now all prisoners of the Barracuda! Surrender ye valuables and cell phones, and your parents will pay handsomely for your returns!"

Phoebe Beacon     While the flare light up the sky and Phoebe had seen someone with two swords through her binoculars -- it was the flare trailing accross the sky with the rainbow colors caught her attention -- such color -- at night? Incredible!

-- but it was the sudden apearance of the goons that really caught and held her attention. Her eyes narrow as the man starts megaphoning all over the place, demanding the valuables of the kids on board -- and if there's one thing Beacon will not stand for -- it's adults assuming others want their kids back! ... or really the robbing of their freedoms.

So she decends from her roost, this girl in the gray jacket making her way behind some of the goons, her hood down as they try to herd kids further onto the ship.

"Hey, is there a cover charge at this party?" she inquires, attempting to distract some of the goons.
Rose Wilson The arrival of the piratical goons should spur her from her spot. But Rose just remains up there on the roof, and in fact edges backwards just a little into the shadows. She doesn't leap to help the kids, and she doesn't call out the goons.

Nope. She's firmly in watch and learn mode, curious about them. And about Phoebe. The rainbow trail? Missed as her attention is directed downwards.
Julie Power As Phoebe calls out to the goons, one of them turns to face her, submachinegun aimed at her. "Hey, Captain we got one of them hoodie types!" he yells over to Barracuda.

"A would be hero, is it the Bat or one of the birds?"

"No, just some chick in a hoodie!"

"Then send her to Davy Jones' locker!"

With that, the goon is about to fire on Phoebe when a rainbow blur suddenly flies in, slamming shoulder first into the goon and sending him flying into a large set of wooden crates filled with ceramic knick-knacks bound for Dollar Tree.

Flying upward in a spiral, Julie folds her arms over her chest and looks at Phoebe. "...let me guess. The hooded cowl? The Lost Gym Sock in the Dryer of Justice? He was really going to shoot you!" she yells at Phoebe, voice a mix of anger and concern from the strawberry-blonde.

Speaking of being shot at, that's what a couple of other goons are doing as they take note of Lightspeed, and the rainbow trail takes off, twisting and turning about in the AA fire.

Barracuda, in the meantime, has boarded the ship. "You!" he yells up at Rose, pointing his cutlass at her. "Them are some pretty swords on your back, either give them up or show me that you can use them!"
Phoebe Beacon     Phoebe's eyes drew upwards, and she was reaching back to a pocket sewn into her jacket before the Rainbow arrives and she does away with the first goon. That's was dozens of dollars in damages done right there!

And the gray hooded teen just gives a soft 'tch'.

"Everyone's a critic." she responds purely good naturedly to the shorter blonde in the air -- and that's when the goons start shooting at her!

Well, she's no slouch. She snaps forward, grasping her hands as if she were grabbing onto something, and as she swings up, there's abrilliant flash of light, as if a piece of sun had errupted between her hands in the shape of a staff, trying to catch one goon upside the jaw and the other accross the face on the down-stroke before she sweeps in with a back-leg sweep, spinning down to try and send those goons into the harbor like a couple boxes of tea at a Boston Tea Party!
Rose Wilson "Me?" Rose wonders with an amused twist to her lips before she stands up, looking unworried about the gun fire. One reason? Not pointed towards her, that is always a good damn reason to not look too worried about things.

It's only a few steps until she reaches the edge of the roof and when she does Rose jumps down, landing and holding herself there for a split second. There is a look shot towards Phoebe when she seems to be able to at least handle one of the goons on her own, and then she looks up to track the rainbow. Once both the teens are noted and marked on her mental map she turns her attention to Baraccuda, her hands reaching up and behind her to draw out the two blades, "Come take them if you want them so bad."
Julie Power Dozens! Who will think of the knick-knacks?

Julie was getting ready to go on the attack again, when Phoebe decides to start showing off, and Lightspeed pauses in the middle of her flight. "Nice." she says, and then adds, "You need a real costume!"

As if Julie's midriff bearing crop top and pants qualify as a costume. The Power girl takes back to flight again, and being a distraction, it's what she does best as she starts to make a contrail path. "This way!" she urges the teens to try to start to make their way from the party.

Phobe manages to catch the first goon firing at Julie off-guard with her light staff, rocking his jaw hard as he drops his weapon and is knocked to the ground. The other goon is prepared, though, and uses his submachinegun to deflect Phoebe's staff and kicks out his leg when Phoebe tries to sweep and he aims to step hard on the girl's knee to snap it out of joint and disable her for quick dispatching.

"Aye, I think I will." Barracuda says as he leaps towards Rose as she draws the blades and he rushes in to attempt to slash at her with the cutlass, the red blade flashing in the air as he takes a swipe and then looks in the girl's face. An eye patch and swords? He had heard rumors of such a girl and not to cross blades with her. But he has an eye patch as well! It's the .... eye for an eye battle.
Phoebe Beacon     "Don't have the allowance to cover it yet!" the girl calls back to Julie, but she's still good natured, as if it were banter between old friends.

The gunman tries to snap her leg out of position -- and he's quick, but not fast enough!

Phoebe withdraws her leg, bending away from thestomas she brings her foot down to stop her momentumn, balanced on one hand and one leg before she pushes up with her leg and tries to lever a kick to the gunman's solar plexus!
Rose Wilson Like taking candy from a baby. Barracuda does exactly what Rose wanted, exactly what she knew that kind of egomanical idiot would do. Attack her. Which is just dumb, on many, many levels.

The sword in her left hand is spun before Rose moves forward to meet the man's charge towards her, and when he goes to slash at her there is nothing but air as she skips using the blades to parry the attack and instead she ducks beneath the swing, taking one blade and aiming the point right at the man's foot to try and nail him to the deck.
Julie Power The goon tries to bring the side of the rifle into Phoebe's side before she is instead slammed into the stomach by her kick, it knocks the breath out of him, dropping him to a knee to make it easier for the beacon of hope to dispatch him. The remaining goon, seeing his companions go down, twist onto Phoebe and hopefully before she recovers, brings his gun around and opens fire on her, hoping to introduce the vigilante to some 9 mm justice!

The blades strike together, sending sparks flying as the energy blade meets Rose's blades.

Caught off guard, Ravager's blade slams into Barracuda's boot and he screams out in pain as he's skewered. But noone said he couldn't cheat as the pirate pulls his pistol from the holster at his side and tries to shoot Rose in the gut at point blank range!

Julie continues her evacution of the teens, trying to get them out of the way. She may not have noticed the bullet that knicked her in the side early, blood fresh over her hip, but the wound is already quickly healing.
Phoebe Beacon     Phoebe kicks forward and knocks the goon into the water, letting his gun hopefully skid to follow him!

The teen curl slightly, turning around as she's caught off guard -- and BANG!

The bullets rip through the air, peirce through her jacket and into her stomach. Phoebe gasps out, feeling the bloo warm against her, that metallic tang of it in her notril -- but her body begins to stitch itself back together. The bullet sliding its way out, still hot, burning against healing flesh, and Phoebe grits her teeth, summons back that staff and bull rushe the remaining goon, spinning the staff back into being and planting a firm foot down she brings the taff up and down in a neat, tight arc to sent the remaining gun goon into the drink!

    "Cool off!"
Rose Wilson Maybe she saw it coming, maybe she knew that drawing a gun would be exactly what he does. Because that is what she would do in his position. When he draws the gun she twists the blade with the one hand.

The shot is allowed to happen, but Rose is already twisting when it does so that it doesn't catch her right in the gut. It doesn't matter, honestly, where it catches her and she ignores the entire thing. Only one single focus and that is on the spin and then the grip change of her second sword as she aims to complete that spin with a backwards stab at Barracuda, "These are my docks now."

Are they? Thems the goals one day! Maybe.
Julie Power The bullets fly through the air, but Phoebe tanks them. Slamming her staff into the last of the gun goons, he joins his friends in the drink, waiting to be fished out by the harbor patrol. That clears them out, giving Phoebe more time to heal.

Julie finishes ushering the last of the teens from '''Serendipity''', she turns just as Rose is raising her blades to make what she sees as a killing blow on Barracuda. With a gasp, the rainbow speedster launches, and just before Rose can complete the motion, Julie shoulder tackles Barracuda into the harbor and lifts into the air, frowning heavily down at Rose.

Floating in the air, surrounded by her rainbow aura, Julie shakes her head. Rose may claim the docks as hers, but Julie ain't going to let her kill anyone.

"I had one of the teens call the police and harbor patrol, they'll be here soon." she says to the pair, as she looks down at her side and frowns. She'll need to wash that off before she gets home.
Phoebe Beacon     "Oh good. Just in time." Phoebe calls up weakly from where she was, still on the docks. She gives a soft puff outwards, and holds her side a moment , working the two bullet out of her jacket before discarding them into the river. No sense leaving evidence.

"Thank you, ladies" she chipperly calls down, giving a wave, and begins to back away, somewhat slowly.
Rose Wilson Foiled again!

She'd have gotten away with this if it wasn't for those darn kids and their dog..wait. Wrong thing.

Rose glares at Julie for a split second, the expression only readable by the set of her mouth with the mask and eyepatch on. If Julie is meaning to shame Rose over that attempted killing blow there is zero shame felt.

"You better run home, then." Rose is probably not inclined to stick around for the cops to show up. The blades of her swords are wiped off, then tucked back away before she starts to head towards the dock, giving Phoebe a look on her way as she starts to back off, amusement twitching at the corner of her mouth.
