Mark Grayson The day had come.

DATE NIGHT.

The reminder glowed on Mark's phone like a beacon from God. He had completely forgot for a moment! He was on Patrol as the mighty Invincible, helping stop a few situations that would have been much, much worse if he had avoided it. But that doesn't mean he's brave enough to brave Eve's wrath if he doesn't show up on time to pick her up!

So, Mark looked up some details and Eve's house was in walking distance of a good movie theater, so he decided to just fly there and change in a gas station stall. Epitome of romance right here, ladies. Mark ran his hands through his hair as he rushed to apply the gel as he sprinted to Eve's house making sure his jeans were nice and his polo was all well and good. Once his hair was nice and slicked, Mark stopped at Eve's door and took a deep, deep breath.

"Okay Mark, you can do this."

His hand -gently- knocks on the door, and he realizes that even his most gentle knock is a loud one. He really should do more strength training with his dad...
Eve Wilkins Eve Wilkins was running late herself, though this time it was not for superhero reasons. The redhead saw Mark approaching the house. "Oh shoot, he's here already," she said to herself.

A few steps brought her in front of the mirror, and with a pink flash of her power, the old ripped jeans she was wearing turn into, well, better-looking newer ripped jean. And her t-shirt turned into a nice blouse. Eve turned about to see herself in the mirror. The garments fit her rather snuggly, which happens when she makes them herself and isn't thinking about putting in some extra cloth into them. "But not too much. I don't imagine he'll mind," she said to herself with a soft laugh then headed down to the door.

She opens it up, leaning against it casually as she gives Mark a look over and smiles at him. "Hey, you clean up kind of nice," she tells him. Eve looks over her shoulder, calling, "Mom, going to a movie!" She steps out and closes the door on her mother's shout back to have a good time. "So what did you pick out for us?"
Mark Grayson Mark straightens out his shirt and checks his breath by breathing into his hand and sniffing it.

"Okay, she won't die if she kisses you...again...oh man, am I going to kiss her again? Man, I'd be lucky as hell." Mark seems to recall that moment far more than fondly, and then he can practically -sense- her hand on the doorknob and for a moment he's thinking to himself the following last words.

'pleasedon'tbeherfatherpleasedon'tbeherfatherpleasedon'tbeherfather!'

Sure enough, it's Eve and Mark takes a serious mental sigh of relief. Then he notices how she looks and he's smiling from ear to ear. It's practically instinct now whenever he sees her, whether its at school or no. "Wow....you look absolutely fantastic." Mark tells her with a smile as he offers her his arm.

"Well, there's a new movie out called 'Free Guy' and I think it could be a ton of fun. It looks like a comedy. Ryan Reynolds style, you know?" He's praying to every god and every force in the universe that she approves of the plan.
Eve Wilkins Mark receives a smile that lights up Eve's green eyes. "Oh, I've been wanting to see that. Good choice," she tells the teenaged boy. Even moves forward to wraps her hands about Mark's arm to walk with him to the nearby theater in downtown Happy Harbor.

"I love Ryan Reynolds. Guy has so much talent," she says as they walk along. "So how have you been? And are you doing anything for Halloween? Have you come up with a costume for it yet? I'm still trying to work out what to go as," she tells him.

"I helped with the decorations at school. Miss. MacIntyre sure does love Halloween. Got one of those giant skeletons for the front of the school," she tells Mark.
Mark Grayson Whew!

"I tried my best. Wracked my brain over it to make sure we would both have the best time, you know?" Mark tells her with a gentle smile. "I think Ryan Reynolds is pretty cool too. Have you seen him in Hitman's Bodyguard? Classic!" He laughs a bit, though when she wraps her hands around his arm, Mark's eyes turn to look upon hers, smiling as his eyes find her green ones.

"I meant it by the way...you look absolutely beautiful."

His eyes briefly drift to her lips, but he may have to earn that. Either way, he seems to chuckle. "I've been good, just cranking out homework as best as I can. Happy Harbor is -not- happy when it comes to the workload." he chuckles. "I don't know what I'm doing for Halloween. Might dress up as Superman." wouldn't -that- be hilarious? Though even more than that, he smirks. "We could go as a pair if you want? I don't really have any good or unique ideas..."

"Oh that was you? No wonder the decorations look on point every year."
Eve Wilkins Eve walks with Mark along the sidewalks. Rush hour is over but cars pass by now and then. The weather is pretty nice for October, not even needing a jacket at least until maybe late in the evening. "Hah, flatterer," she says as Mark tries to give her credit for the decorations. "I didn't do all that much. Hung up some stuff. Oh, and got knocked off a ladder when a couple of boys were shoving each other and one ran into it. Mr. Rothstein caught me," she says with a little shake of her head. "Todd got two weeks detention from Miss MacIntyre for shoving the one who hit the ladder."

Eve glances over at Mark. "Wouldn't even have to get the suit with the fake muscles. I don't remember you being in such good shape, Mark," Eve tells him. "Well I'd be willing to dress up as something with you. Any ideas?"
Mark Grayson That seems to make Mark pause.

"Wait, what? Todd pushed some kid into your ladder?" He seems to almost be checking her for injuries. Not that he didn't like looking at Eve because god DAMN she was beautiful, but more that he was making sure she wasn't noticeably injured. "I'm sorry. I can talk to Todd if you want." Mark is willing to take an ass-whooping for her?

If that ain't romantic... (or stupid)...dunno what is.

Then she compliments his physique and Mark couldn't help but blush. "W-well, I hit up the weights in my spare time...my dad used to be a big gym nut so I just used his stuff..." complete and total bullshit, his muscles were a gift of his powers. He even flexes the bicep that her hands are touching. Not too shabby!

He wasn't Todd levels of buff of course, but he was alright. "You want to dress up with me? W-well...should we be a classic duo, like Bonnie and Clyde, Neo and Trinity?"
Eve Wilkins "Ooo," Eve says as Mark suggests Neo and Trinity. "You could pull that look of great with your dark hair. And I could get a black wig for Trinity. Never wore something like her bodysuits before, but I'd be willing to give it a try," Eve tells him. "I'll have to look around and see what I can find that would work."

Or, use her matter manipulation powers to just make it. But she doesn't want Mark knowing that.

"I think someone's having a Halloween party too, if you wanted to go to it together," she offers. Her hand gives Mark's arm a tiny rub as she walks at his side. Up ahead is the theater. Just a couple of people in line at the box office for tickets, while others just breeze through with their tickets on their phones.
Mark Grayson Has Eve ever seen a guy's mouth water at something she said? Mark can feel his brain turn off for a minute as his mind goes blank at the thought of her in a bodysuit. Mark needs to give himself a mental smack in the head to get his mind back working the right it should again and not in some weird pervy kind of way. "T-That would be rerally cool....I would just have to buy the coat and the shades..." Mark clears his throat.

Come on Mark!

He could ask one of his dad's friends for a favor...but we'll see how it goes. Then she asks him out to the Halloween party, and he smiles at her. "I'd love to. It's a date." He nods to her. "Our second, if I'm not mistaken, after this one." He smiles. Though as she gives his arm a tiny rub, they walk and keep walking, with Mark leading her past the ticket booth as he pulls out his phone.

"I came a little prepared." He smirks. But they manage to get past the ticket office with no problems. "Would you like any snacks or popcorn? My treat?"
Eve Wilkins Mark's preparedness gets another soft smile from Eve as they go inside, and the guy scans his phone and lets them in to the concessions area. Eve pauses to look over the signs behind the counters that list what they have for sale. "Oh, some popcorn and a soda would be nice I suppose," she finally comments. "And if you want to get anything," she adds as if to not stop him from getting anything that might be a particular favorite of his that he might be craving.

Over to the side of the concession stands there are cardboard characters from an upcoming movie. It's a superhero movie, a group of teenagers in costumes. There's a robot and a redhaired heroine in pink, and a guy with a gun that appears to be making a big explosion. And a girl how is growing multiple arms.

Eve's head tilts at it as she reads the movie name. "The Terrific Teens," she says, then gives a tiny roll of her eyes. "Looks like they are ripping off... one of the hero groups," she says, rather than name her own team. "Well, I think this is probably the better movie," she says of Free Guy.
Mark Grayson Mark was straight up -nailing it-!

Mark gets his phone scanned and he is so far mentally high fiving himself repeatedly as occasionally he looks at Eve. Not to get any reaction out of her, but just to -look- at her. She had the most lovely eyes in the world and honestly, he's completely dumbfounded that she's here with him right now instead of the captain of the football team or something.

Perspective, man.

Or just sheer MF'ing luck.

Mark nods though. "Done deal. Do you like your popcorn salty? I love salty popcorn. I used to super salt it to avoid having to share with my mom and dad, they hate too much of the stuff." He laughs, attempting to be humorous. "Well...if you like, we can share the popcorn? I'll probably get myself some skittles and a soda."

He notices the cardboard cutout of an upcoming movie and Mark smirks. "Yeah...can't help but notice. Honestly? I think they're running out of ideas for superhero movies. Kinda a repeat of the same stuff these days. From what I've heard, this movie is pretty great."

He takes a moment to order the popcorn and sodas. "Thank you, Eve....I like going out with you."
Eve Wilkins "I like some salt though I don't normally go heavy. Tell you what though, get extra butter, and you can salt it up to your heart's content," she tells him. "Yeah, I heard the same thing too. My friend Kate is a big Ryan Reynolds fan and went to see it opening night," she says.

Eve pulls out some money from the purse and offers it over towards Mark. "Here, you got the tickets, why don't I pick this up?" she offers. She reaches up, brushing some locks of red hair back and tucking them behind her ear.

"Skittles hmm? I was hoping you weren't going to go for Milk Duds and never be able to talk because of how chewy they are," she teases. "Not that we should probably be talking too much during the movie. So are you a sit down front or in back or in the middle sort of person?" she asks.
Mark Grayson "Butter-salt ratio, I like it." Mark smiles at Eve playfully and he nods. "Deal. Kate? I think I've seen her around but not actually talked to her. She seems nice?" Mark smiles a little bit as he puts in their orders and looks to be fishing for his wallet, only for Eve to already be offering the dough for it! "Eve, I can..." He ponders for a moment, then he simply nods. Best to let the lady have her way.

That way he doesn't look lik ea controlling douche when he's attempting to be chivalrous.

"Thanks, Eve." and he uses her money to help buy the snacks. When she mentions that she was hoping he wasn't going to try for the milk duds, he laughs. "Well, not that we'd be...yeah, you got it." He laughs. "I've never been too big a fan of chocolate, actually. Does that make me a horrible person?" He smiles at her. He doesn't know what kind of candy she likes.

"I personally like sitting in the middle. Best seats in the house. How about you? Do you have a preference?"
Eve Wilkins Eve Wilkins stops cold where she is, and turns to look over at Mark. "Don't like chocolate?" she repeats in a voice that might be equal parts wonder and horror. Maybe more like, wonderous horror. "You've actually TRIED chocolate though? This isn't one of those, I don't like guacamole because it looks green and nasty but haven't ever tried it things, is it?" she asks, with a bit of a grin starting to twerk at the corner of her lips.

"Middle works for me too," she says, starting walking to the theater then when Mark has the refreshments. She takes her soda and puts the straw in the cup as they make their way into the theater. "Yeah, I don't like craning my head back to look up and not be able to make everything out. Back is fine too, but middle's the best," she agrees.

The theater isn't too full. Eve lets Mark pick where to sit, ready to follow him down the row of seats.
Mark Grayson When Eve stops cold where she is and pointedly asks Mark about his dislike of chocolate, Mark seems to lift his hands without dropping what they carry as if he were expecting a punch to be thrown from Eve and he must now stand down. "I've tried -tons- of chocolate before. My dad's a travel agent. I do like guacamole though. I'll eat chocolate, its just not my favorite thing in the world." He gulps a little audibly, but when she grins, he seems to relax and smiles a little bit.

"Rad."

Mark smiles at Eve as they take their place dead center of the theater. The chairs are those nice comfy leather chairs that can recline. He sit down inthe chair and smiles a little bit. "Sweet, practically have the theater to ourselves." He mutes his cell phone and gives a smile to Eve.

"Ready to laugh until our ribs hurt?"
Eve Wilkins Eve sees Mark muting his phone and she says, "Oh, that's a good idea." She takes out her phone and does the same with it before pocketing it again. She gets settled into the chair then, reclining in it, and getting her soda into the cup holder.

"Is it going to be that funny? I have some pretty solid ribs," Eve kids, smiling over to Mark. The previews come on and she falls silent. The new Star Wars movie has a clip, and there's a comedy about people hunting ghosts.

Eve reaches over, getting a handful of popcorn from Mark's tub. She tosses a few in her mouth. "Oh, you did go for salty," she whispers with a soft laugh, not that there's anyone close enough to hear her. The other people in the theater are down in the front row.
Mark Grayson Mark winks at Eve at the phone silencing, and reclines fully in his chair and lifts the bar between himself and Eve in case she's the snuggling type. Never hurts...they shared a kiss, but Mark might not get lucky enough to try it again. So...without looking too pushy or forceful, the slight gesture just reveals that he's open to it.

Shouldn't hurt, right?

She asks if its going to be that funny, he shrugs. "No idea." Mark smirks at her. "But you are pretty hilarious. I dunno if I'm that funny." The movie starts to darken and the previous begin to roll! The star wars one makes Mark smile. "Oh, I can't wait for that." The nerd in him shining a bit brighter than probaby normal.

"I like salty." He smirks at Eve, and if she keeps going for the popcorn, she may touch Mark's hand.
Eve Wilkins Eve Wilkins doesn't shift her position when the armrest is raised, just relaxes there in her chair. She does keep munching on the popcorn, her fingers brushing Mark's once or twice. The movie starts up and Eve's head tilts a little bit at the start. "So it's like he's in a Grand Theft Auto world?" she whispers to Mark. Apparently not having seen enough of the trailer to know in advance. "I try to avoid watching trailers, they give too much of the movie away," she confirms.

She takes a sip of her soda, glad she has it with the extra salty popcorn. She watches quietly, laughing at appropriate moments. "He's so upbeat," she whispers a little ways into the movie.
Mark Grayson Fingers brush once or twice and heat rises in Mark's cheeks, his breathing slightly heightened from nervousness, and the movie begins! granting him a moment of composure.

Even if his arm is already moving as he tries to make a move on her. If he's lucky, he'll be able to set his arm around her and hold her close to him.

"Y-Yeah, it looks like it. Except if Grand Theft Auto was a game where you could do literally anything you wanted." Mark chuckles a little bit.

"He's hilarious. really role-model-esque
Eve Wilkins As the boy's arm goes around Eve, the redhead shifts over towards him a little bit, snuggling against him within the fold of his arm. Her hand reaches over to rest lightly on his chest, her head on his shoulder as the movie continues on.

"I liked Ready Player One a lot. Though at the same time I kind of wished the story was a little better. A little less cliche," she murmurs to him. "Not that I'm the biggest video game player. I'm sure I missed who a lot of the characters were."

Eve gets another handful of popcorn, munching on it quietly while the movie plays out.
Mark Grayson Mark's arm successfully cradles itself around Eve and pulls her close to him as she snuggles in. "...does this mean I'm your boyfriend?" Mark asks her ever so softly, some fear hanging on his words. He was nervous....nervous of denial and refusal.

But he keeps on keeping on either way, his lips gently brushing over her forehead affectionately. "I really liked that movie too actually. It was crazy and insane in all of the right ways." He whispers into her ear.

"We can watch it again and I can tell you all about it if you want."
