Owner Pose
Nathan Summers Nathan Summers, otherwise known as Cable, has made himself a semi-permanent house guest who seems pretty attached to the bar when he's not borrowing a teleporters' powers to make errands, some violent, to Earth's surface.

At present, he is behind the bar, leaning over the counter top. A bottle of whiskey is in reach of his cybernetic arm and occasionally it refreshes the coffee mug he drinks from. At some point, the mug had actual coffee in it, but Nate became tired of fresh new bean water, so now he's just sipping straight whiskey.

When he's not sipping from the mug, he's attending the small arsenal laid out in front of him. Guns of a non-obvious make, Cabal runs a cloth over one as he polishes the metallic finish to a shine that brilliantly reflects the glow of his cybernetic eye.
Mystique The report of the arsenal in the bar is made and Mystique is on the move. It's alright to be armed on the Asteroid, but putting on a display... in the bar... where people drink to drunk? Yeah, she has to check on that.

Stepping into the bar, she glances around and spots the reason she is there... right on the bar. No wonder Sascha was calling her, so she wanders over to the bar with a smile on her face.

"We need to get you a room," she states plainly with that smile remaining. "I see you are settling in for the most part however."
Ree "You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you get what you need..."

Someone's singing as they wander in the adjoining hallway. The Rolling Stones did it better; this sounds like someone who's intentionally trying to mess up the notes. If Theo were around, he'd be freaking right out as every fifteenth note exactly is four keys off. No drums, but at least the rhythm is fine. you know, ish.

The door opens, and someone leans in the frame. Elbow resting on the wall, the red figure of a devil grins devilishly as it belts out the next stanza. Something about venting frustration, and blowing something...but the way she's standing, it might mean something else.

"Ah, mine public. Love all of you, I'm...oof."

That last expletive is due to her being kicked in the butt by someone coming in behind her. Don't block the door, apparently.

"Philistines, all of them."
Nathan Summers Cable may error on the side of rude, but he's got a smile on his hardened scarred features. It gives him a certain amount of 'Down to Earth' charisma. He offers a chuckle, "Wouldn't say no to a place to hang my hat... and my guns."

He attentively rubs a cloth over a very high caliber pistol, though one might describe it more as a small cannon. "Was hoping to speak with you soon about business. Either now or later. I want to better understand your overall mission. I'm seeing enough things that are... divergent from how I understand history that I'm going to stop making assumptions."

Picking up the large weapon, he spins it like a revolver out of a spaghetti western, a trick that clearly took at least a small application of telekinesis, before he holsters it on his hip.

Ree and Lydia both get an unnerving glare, cybernetic eye offering another pulse of light. The soldier bristles momentarily then calms, smile returning to his face. "You've got quite the crew, Mystique"
Lydia Dietrich It's still fairly early in the evening for Lydia which means that she's just finished with her 'morning' routine, which means that she's freshly showered and fed. When she returns from feeding she finds that Mystique has gone off to the bar because of some kind of trouble, so she makes her way there.

Only to run into a strange devil girl who seems to be rather chipper this evening. "Oh, hello," she greets. "I haven't seen you around the Asteroid before. Are you new?"
Mystique Pausing at the bar, Mystique looks over the weapons then back up to Nate. His changing mood, smile to the unnerving glare is observed, before she looks to Lydia and Ree for a moment, then back to Nate.

"First off, that's my girlfriend, Lydia," she states perhaps a little too firmly, a little too protectively. "That glare, shove it some place else."

Protective girlfriend mode disengaged, Brotherhood mode engaged, smile returns. "We can talk about that any time you'd like, including now. H & D are setting up a room for you for tonight, so you'll have a place to hang your guns when we're done talking."

Now she walks around behind the bar to grab a bottle of scotch and a glass, before sauntering past and behind Nate, and around to the other side of the bar again to sit on a stool.
Ree The devil girl, rubbing her butt where someone put their foot moments earlier, turns when she's addressed. She blinks, she grins. She laughs! "You're amazing already! I'm actually not new at all, but I guess being new here counts. I'm either over a thousand or early twenties," (neither is true), "but it's nice to be, like, at all. Do you like the Stones?"

She is entirely not interacting with whatever Mystie and Cable have going on, and instead is grinning like a maniac at Lydia. "I can't actually tell, sorry. Everyone's faces look weird still. I mean, this entire realm is all woogie, a bit."

She may make sense. Or not.
Nathan Summers Mystique's declaration gets a low rumbling chuckle from Nate. "Consider the glare shoved."

Cable offers the mutant a respectful nod. There's something about 'aggressive protectiveness' that resonates well with him, probably comes from years as a 'Wasteland Parent'.

He watches the 'boss' saunter to and fro from behind the bar. "Be good to have a bunk to call my own again. I'll get my guns out of the bar as soon as I have the key."

Nathan's brow knits in mild consternation as he catches some of Lee's conversation with Lydia. He shakes his head and resumes polishing his guns and sipping from his mug of whiskey. Turning his organic eye on Mystique, he tilts his head before asking a question, "What are your top priorities? And who are your top threats?"
Lydia Dietrich Nate's glare gets a quirk of the eyebrow from Lydia, wondering what she did to deserve such immediate animosity from somebody she's never met before. The Predator inside her is urging her to meet the glare with hostility of her own, and it takes her a moment to shove that aside. Better to remain polite for everybody's sake.

Instead, the pale woman turns her attention to Ree and grins. "I appreciate their impact on the music industry," she says, which is a kind of polite way of saying 'not really.' She's not entirely sure what to do with this information that things are all 'woogie'. "Well, I can tell. There's not many red devil girls on the station," she says. "You're the first."
Mystique Pouring out some of the scotch into the glass and recapping the bottle, Mystique lifts the glass to take a small sip. She is listening to Ree and Lydia, its her nature to pay attention to everything happening around her, but she is letting Ree attempt to be here, in this reality. The little Imp might be confusing to listen to, but she has to learn on her own.

"Top and most important priority is mutant equality," she states firmly. "Sure, we'd like mutants to be in charge, but that's a pipe dream for the future, so equality is our target. To achieve this however, the Brotherhood had to change the manner in which we handle things, and so we have."

Another sip of the scotch is taken, a small one, mostly for the flavor as she is not intending to get drunk right now. "As for our number one threat? There isn't just one." She snorts, eyes narrowing as she thinks about the threats. "Most humans are a threat, the American government is a threat, the Chinese government is a threat, /all/ governments are a threat... to make matters worse, there are mutants hurting mutants out there as well, oh and let's not forget the assholes kidnapping and experimenting on mutants. Honestly, those are the primary targets, I want them all destroyed... I'd like to do it publicly as a warning to everyone that if you hurt my brother's and sister's, I will destroy you, but that isn't permitted. I'm supposed to be a kinder, nicer Mystique now."
Ree Leaning closer, Ree says to Lydia, "Don't mind him. He's just not sure what to make of you yet. Take a minute, then go kiss your girlfriend." She clearly isn't a complete imbecile, or unable to see what's right in front of her face.

Then she waggles the tip of her tail, and turns toward the bar. "I..." she says, looking at anyone who's looking in her direction, "am about to order a drink." THen she proceeds to do so. The person who's tailing her glances to Mystique questioningly, though Ree herself has yet to actually do anything insane.

Until she starts asking for a light beer. And appears to be serious.

She grins at Mystique, and at Cable. "I don't want to get drunk. What's up? You two going to bang?"
Nathan Summers Nate calls over to Lydia, "Sorry for the rude reception. I'm still getting socialized. Big asteroid. Lots of faces. Many with pretty rough reputations."

Cable listens intently as Mystique lays out the new Brotherhood charter and laundry list of concerns. "Mutant kidnapping assholes are where we readily align. I need to make this timeline safe for Hope... and I don't care how many enemies I make in the process of doing so."

The eye glows menacingly to punctuate the declaration.

The same eye turns toward Ree. He states candidly, "Doesn't seem likely considering I just death glared her girlfriend."

He's not the bartender, but he is behind the bar. So he obliges by pulling a light beer bottle out of a refrigerator and removing the cap with a brief burst of telekinetic torque. The cap clatters and spins on the bar as he sets the bottle down in front of Ree.
Mystique The bartender, Sascha, has decided to take a break while there are guns on the bar. In fact, he called Mystique on his way out of the room, so if Nate doesn't make the drink, Ree is shit out of luck.

Mystique crosses one leg over the other, pulling her phone from the top of her thigh high boot to look at the screen, then tucks it back in place. "I could tell you a few stories about China's experiments, but they hit a little close to home for me as I was one they experimented on." She states coldly, and takes a full on drink from her glass.

"Mutants have numerous enemies out there Nate, so many in fact the list is longer than this room," she gestures toward the rather large room, not that it was needed. "And no Ree, I will not be 'banging' Nate," she turns to look at the Imp. "That's not the sort of thing you ask, especially me, in front of my girlfriend. You may need more classes."

Deep breath, in through the nose, out through the mouth and she has her calm back. "The Brotherhood protects all mutants, in every country. Presently in China we are helping the undergrounds mutants there form their own organization, getting them connected to one another, to beat back their own government while the Justice League and SHIELD deal with the situation diplomatically. So, as you can see, we have allies in the strangest of places as well, since our 'change'."
Ree Ree almost asks 'why not?' but the serious tone in Mystique's voice stops that cold. She's used to a heirarchy that you don't mess with, and she nods slowly as she lifts the bottle to her lips. She gives Nate a grateful salute, staying quiet a bit longer. Something to talk t oher therapist about. After she stops giggling at the obvious joke in the lady's title. Again.

"I'd do it," she says, having heard more of the ongoing conversation than they may have thought. "I mean, if you want someone messed up. Better me than someone innocent." She isn't acting, not like Rahne would be if she said it. She's quite aware that she's a devil.

Then, she adds, "Sorry. I thought you were flirting. That's how we flirted, a week ago."
Nathan Summers "It's a toss up between the United States or China who will trigger the end of this era. Both are reckless with their application of power and the way they handle mutants." Cable frowns gravely. "Condolences regarding your imprisonment."

The grizzled soldier looks toward Ree, acknowledging the salute with a simple nod. "If a lack of innocence is the criteria, I don't think Mystique has any shortage of candidates. That's not a slight, but I've gotten a hint of the roster. We've got a lot of killers on this space rock."

Nate looks between Ree and Mystique, then focuses on the latter. "You better keep this one away from Wade, especially if she's breaking bad habits."
Mystique Mystique lifts a brow, eyeing Ree for a moment.

"Flirting in this realm is very different then your home, Ree," she offers, turning slightly to look more directly at her. "Some might flirt more violently, with harsh words, etc. but most don't. Another thing you might want to grasp, is that when someone is dating or married to someone, they don't go after other people, unless the relationship is poly. You'll get there Ree, just keep taking your lessons."

Another small sip and her yellow eyes return to Nate, "China got caught with their pants down, thanks to Magento and the internet. They made the mistake of kidnapping me and he came to get me, and removed their nuclear power as punishment, but honestly I think it is the US that will cause it. We can stop it however, so long as we stay vigilant and keep pushing back." There is a pause and then she adds out of the blue, "Wade is dating someone, a New York city detective... what did they say her name was..." another pause. "Oh right, Pezzini, Sara Pezzini."
Ree Ree rubs her eyes as if they're bothering her. She nods, turning away from both Cable and Mystique, but the tears on her cheeks are visible for a moment. She seems to be handling whatever's going on though, and after a few quick and deep breaths she wipes her face with her sleeve, and turns back.

"Thank you. Both of you. I don't think I'll...I think it might be best if I just listen instead of opening my yap for a bit. You go on, I'm gonna drink some."

Then she sips her beer. sips, not quaffs. China and the United States being what they are, they'll still be there tomorrow. She's not in a rush to catch up on everything at once.
Nathan Summers "That poor woman, but good for Wade. I think. Dating or not. The guy is a walking ball of bad habits. Recommendation stands." Nate replies, though there is obvious puzzlement. The idea of Wade in a stable relationship... well stable anything... seems to baffle what the soldier knows about the Merc with a Mouth.

Cable doesn't mention Ree's tears, but he does reach behind the bar and place a few napkins down in front of the devil. "If you are practicing, keep trying it. Don't be afraid of failure. Most of us suck when we try something new. Give you the same advice I always gave me daughter, push through it. Regroup if you need to, but don't count yourself out."

He side-glances Mystique, "After all, your teacher seems to be patient. A few clipped words is a pretty mild response... As for the US, if Magneto ripped away China's nuclear power, then you are right. Damn that country."
Mystique Mystique reaches over and lays her hand on Ree's shoulder, unless the women pulls away, and offers her a smile. "We all started somewhere Ree," she offers. "We'll get you through this."

With another sip, she looks to Nate. "There is one priority at this time, but I'm still searching for the bastard. He went into hiding after we took out one of his 'rehabilitation' locations for Mutants. When I find him, he will be dug in deep, will need all hands on deck to dig him out and murder his ass." She pauses, one brow lifting. "Want in on it when the time comes? Also, what other questions do you have about the Brotherhood?"
Ree Ree doesn't pull away. She doesn't wince, but with how good Mystique is (and possibly Cable) at reading people, they could tell she's expecting to be hit. She just isn't showing it, because she's learned. If you show fear, you lose.

It doesn't come, and she looks at Cable quietly. She nods. She indicates Mystique with her half-empty bottle. "Get in on that. She's nasty, you want to be on the winning side."

Then, "I'm out though. I'm not ready yet. Also, all I can do is weld anyway. Not a lethal ability unless you want me to weld a dog to someone's face."
Lydia Dietrich Lydia, having to duck out for a moment, returns and makes her way up to the small group of people. "Hey, sweetness," she says to Mystique, giving her a quick kiss. She turns to address Nate. "Hi. I'm Lydia." She gives him a pleasant smile and holds out a hand, "a pleasure to meet you."

To Ree she lets out a snirk of amusement. "That sounds uncomfortable and inconvenient."
Nathan Summers "Consider me in, where ever in the tactical plan I best fit." Nate answers simply then sips from his mug. He hums deeply at Mystique's offer to answer more questions.

"I'll be honest. The questions aren't kind. Most of them are contingencies if a member of the 'team' stops listening to the angels of their better nature." He stares at Mystique. "I don't mean it as an insult. As I said before, pack of killers. Maybe once I have your trust, we can talk details about a few of your members. Until then, I know its not my responsibility, but it is a professional curiosity."

Cable recognizes Ree's reaction instantly. Coming from a brutal society, he knows when someone has been beaten down. He hums, "Your powers don't always have to be your weapons. Meet me in the gun range sometime."

Nate reaches out to Lydia with his organic hand and gives her a firm handshake. "Sorry again about the look. Promise it's not personal. I'm not great to strangers in the first few moments."
Mystique For a moment Mystique thinks about all the possibilities of usefulness to Ree's ability then she asks, "Can you... unweld things as well?"

She returns the kiss to Lydia, a soft smile touching her lips before she slips her arm around Lydia's waist for a hug. "There are a lot of faces around here you won't know Nate," she offers, then she gives Lydia another kiss and lets her go. Sascha's not there, if the woman wants a drink she had to get it herself

Slowly her yellow eyes shift back to Nathan behind the bar and she takes a moment to consider what he said. "Feel free to ask. I know who is part of this organization, I know their reputations, and I know a great many concerns that have been voiced by others. You don't have to be kind, you are always welcome to be blunt with me. I may not like it, but that doesn't change the statement."
Ree Ree is quiet for a moment. She's spoken to by all the people, and she has to respond. So, she nods to Cable. The offer is real, and not remotely a bad idea. Lydia's comment makes her smile, then sigh a little. "Living things are actually really hard. I have better results with simple molecules."

Then she takes the opportunity to answer Raven's question, by lifting her right hand. Pausing, then touching the top of the bar. She doesn't seem to do anything at all, but she gets off her stool. Then she pushes, and the bar top moves an inch. "Undoing joins is easy. I was on takedown and setup duties. I'll re-set these, just let me get it back into place..."

Then she ducks down and starts shifting the bar back to its proper location, trying to make it just right.

"Complex molecular structures are hard to work with. I prefer welding, it's less draining." She just undid the glue that held the entire bar top in place. With a touch.
Lydia Dietrich Lydia's hand is cold to the touch, and the gently falling ash black flakes of ectoplasm that constantly surround her give a slight tingling sensation when they land on skin, but her grip is firm. "Water under the bridge," she says. She doesn't move to make herself a drink, though.

She watches with interest as Ree detach the bar with interest. "That's.... really handy, actually. Some powers are more practical in nature than anything else."
Nathan Summers "Noted." Cable responds in regards to Mystique's offer to be blunt. He drains his mug of whiskey and then proceeds to clear the bar of his accoutrements of war. The various weapons all seem to have a hope, rather its hanging from a harness or slipping crisply into a holster.

Watching Ree's display, Nate's mind starts going through the tactical applications. "You must be good at entry. Can't imagine its hard to slip the pin in a door. Do the same on a hammer pin, the hammer falls off, and the gun is useless. Like most mutants, with the right training, you'll be a serious asset."

Cable nods to Lydia. "Glad we aren't on a bad footing." He waves his hand as if to clear the tingling sensation.

"I'll ask more questions, later." He states simply to Mystique. "For now, I'm going to see if that bunk is ready. Thanks for the hospitality so far. Have a good evening."

With that, Nate marches off at a stable clip, lured by the promise of a shower and clean sheets.
Mystique Mystique watches Ree and the smile that comes to her face is mixture of mischievous, surprise and down right evil. "So many possibilities..." she mutters, shifting to watch Ree put the bar back together. "So many possibilities."

Blinking a few times, she fixes her smile and slides the mask back into place. "You're room is coded and ready," she states. "The lock will require a verbal sentence or two be spoken, H & D will make sure those sentences are as stupid or raunchy as possible, then the room will be set to you. You're welcome to decorate any way you want, or don't, but not messing with the walls. Erik is the only one who can safely move the walls around in this place."

After a brief snerk over H & D's security protocols, she adds, "You're free to ask your questions any time. In your room you will find your new cell phone, this phone is linked to your room and the Asteroid itself. Enjoy."
Ree "It was just a job. Building bone racks and mountains of jelly, or torture equipment." She shrugs. "I built a lot of weird stuff." She peers past Lydia toward Cable, then nods slowly. His and Mystique's reactions were kind of similar. She doesn't see the potential, but apparently it's there.

"I could move a wall.." No. Bad devil.

Then she leans toward Lydia, poking her with her tailtip, and says, "Kiss your girlfriend already."
Lydia Dietrich Lydia catches that look on Mystique's face and she puts her hands on her hips. "No, you can't use her to make all my clothes to fall off."

She bats the poking tail away from her. "I already kissed her!" she says defensively. "Twice! Besides. The only person who can command me to kiss my girlfriend is my girlfriend."
Mystique Once Nate has made his way out, taking all of his weapons with him, Sascha makes his way back in. Mystique rolls her eyes a little, then turns to Lydia with a grin, "That is /not/ what I was thinking... but I am now."

She sets her glass on the bar, wiggles her brows, then wraps her arms around Lydia and pulls her in close and kisses her rather soundly, passionately, and for a bit of time. Some would call it a toe curling kiss.
Rahne Sinclair Ree admires the view for a bit. Then she inclines her head toward Sascha, and raises an eyebrow. One might call it an offer of sorts, since she also licks her lips as she does so. See? She's capable of learning to flirt. It just takes a moment.

Of course if he were to agree she'd probably strip down right there. SO glad we have someone on Ree watching duty or there'd be a lot more nudity on the Asteroid.

Assuming that's a bad thing.
Lydia Dietrich Despite her previous protests, Lydia absolutely kisses Mystique back just as passionately as it's given. Once they break for air (or at least Mystique does, Lydia doesn't need to breathe and can go all night) she gives her a grin and says, "I could never say 'no' to you."

She catches Ree licking her lips out of the corner of her eye and turns to see the devil girl's rendition of flirting. "What is she doing?" she whispers.
Mystique Mystique kisses Lydia's ear, well really she nibbles a little, then whispers, "Learning to flirt, totally different flirting styles in hell." then she nibbles again once more and kisses Lydia's cheek.

Sascha is cleaning up after Nathan, muttering things in Russian as he does. He catches Ree's 'flirting' out of the corner of his eye, lifts a brow, offer a smile, then goes back to cleaning. That's not happening.

Mystique hmms softly then whispers, "And striking out."
Lydia Dietrich "Oh /she's/ the one you rescued from hell?" Lydia asks curiously, watching as Ree dejectedly walk away from the bar. "I should have guessed, but when you're lover's ex boyfriend is also red with a tail and a mutant you just kind of assumed."

She turns to face Mystique squarely. "Speaking of which, I wanted to talk to you about him." She looks around at the cafeteria before suggesting, "We should probably go somewhere a little more private, though."
Mystique Mystique nods once, then as she stands up, scoops Lydia up and over her shoulder fireman carry style.

"Back to our room," she comments as she does this. Then as she walks away, she says over her shoulder, "Sascha, I'll let Nate know not to draw guns in the bar any more, unless of course we're under attack."
