Satana The Happy Hetairai is as low a place as you can find in a city not known for high places. It calls itself, to give its full name, The Happy Hetairai Bar and Girl. (Yes, not grill.) It's in a seedy neighbourhood and manages to look even more seedy. The inside is poorly lit, likely to conceal the black mould that Selene's nose can pick out among the stench of low quality booze, stale sweat, and other, less savoury, human bodily secretions.

It's a great place for a succubus in short. The kind of place where she can lounge about without clothing and not have anybody complain. Especially after she's done her dance, seduced a customer backstage (always choosing the slimiest of the slime), and fed from them.

She usually leaves them alive (and SUPER contented, albeit oddly listless for a few days to weeks thereafter).

Usually.

If only because she's too lazy to dominate people into forgetting about what happened and disposing of bodies for her.

Tonight is another one of her turns on stage at HH, another bit of backroom feeding, and now, flushed with the excitement of that feeding, positively glowing the 'walk'--that unique gait people have shortly after lascivious activity--she's wandering through the club to soak in and revel in the sin and lust around her.

~My home.~

The thought is made sardonically, but it's not far from the truth. Some of the trainees Down South need to be brought here for field work.

The time reaches her awareness. She'd sent a message to Selene to meet her ... in five minutes. Where does time go when lost in feeding? Thankfully she doesn't have any preparation to do. She just sidles, au naturel, to the shadow-laden booth that she's claimed as hers, to wait for the vampire's arrival.
Selene Corvinus Selene doesn't so much as arrive as she does appear. The doors don't seem to open or close, but patrons pass in front of them, and in their wake, the vampire in tight black leather just suddenly 'is there'. She's staring right across the bar and 'Girl' to stare at Satana.

She begins walking, her long black leather coat swaying gently around her long legs as she moves, the leather of her garments making subtle creaking noises against her body as she goes. Though most all of that is drowned out by the noises of the club itself.

When she arrives at the table, Selene stares down at Satana.

"You look satisfied..." The Vampire says with the hints of a smile wanting to show on her pale pink lips, but being kept down, kept from the forefront.

Selene moves to sit down across from the other woman, her deep brown eyes across the table upon Satana's own.
Satana "Selene, how wonderful to see you!" Satana says with a wide, welcoming, supernaturally-relaxed smile. "Does it show? I like this place. I may buy it. The sin..."

Satana shudders in imitation of ... well ... what this place sells. Without ever quite delivering.

"...it's delicious. It's taking everything I've got not to gorge myself. But..." A sultry, mischievous wink follows. "...I've got a figure to watch out for."

Laughing at her own little joke, Satana's eyes rake over Selene again, appraisingly. Thoughtful.

"How has your war with the Doggos been going?" she asks. "Are you in need perhaps of more equipment?"

Beat.

"Oh, I forget my manners! Pick anybody in the place. He...or she...is yours to feast upon. Don't worry about survival. Accidents happen."
Selene Corvinus Selene keeps her eyes upon Satana throughout what the other woman says, up to the offer of someone to feed upon. It's then that Selene's eyes roam around the room as if she might be considering it, before she looks back across the table to the other woman, a flickering grin ghosting its way across he rlips again.

"That's a very kind offer." She says in her naturally sultry voice.

"I'm glad that you are having such a happy time in life, as well. Truly. It is all any of us deserve, really."

There's a pause then as Selene just slightly lowers her chin and gaze across to Satana. "There's been a situation amongst my people. An assassination attempt was made against my employer, and... our local Coven Leader. It seems it may have been influenced internally as well, by a man within our ranks who seems to have let the aspirations for power cause him to do very stupid things. Now... he's in hiding. I'm working with a few of my closest allies to try and track him down..."
Satana "Oh, darling, that sounds terrible." Satana is exuding all the sympathy of a crocodile as she says that. Indeed she actually looks more fascinated than sympathetic. "It's always worst when it comes from inside the house, isn't it?"

Little sparks light in her eyes.

"I'm having a few little issues of my own. It appears I've started a war. Entirely by accident, of course!"

Of course.

"The trouble, of course, is that I'm a lover, not a fighter. My imps are useful for mischief, chaos, and snooping. Not much else. And with a war brewing, I won't be able to get any war fiends without expending a LOT of effort I really don't want to expend. I'm wondering now if perhaps there isn't a trade that could be made?"
Selene Corvinus Selene responds to the comment about it being worse coming from the inside, with a small smile that comes and goes quite quickly. When the rest is spoken, the Vampire starts to gently lean her head to the right as she listens curiously. Her pale, youthful, features seem curious about this.

"Just what the world needs..." She says with regards to another 'war starting'.

AT the end though, she nods once more before speaking up again. "I would be happy to help you, as much as I am able to anyway. Things are ... complicated lately, as I'm sure you can imagine. My associate, and I, were able to thwart the assassination attempt, but yes... we're on the hunt for the foolish idiot that set this all up."

"But yes, please, let me know how I can help, and I will try to do just so..."
Satana "Well, how about this, then? You give me the information on your little friend there that you wish to ... correct the ways of. Terminally." That smile turns predatory. "And I will send my imps out to find him. I can punt them into the Astral plane. If your little friend doesn't have the senses for that, they could walk around him making obscene gestures for days on end and he wouldn't notice."

Satana flexes her neck a moment, making a cracking sound.

"Then I can terminate him if you wish, or I can pass the information on to you if you want the honours."

She holds up a hand in warning. "Imps aren't ... especially reliable. They have a short attention span. I can make no promises for time frames, but they WILL eventually find him. That I can promise. They know what awaits them if they disappoint me..."

"Which leads to my little situation. I need muscle. Cool-headed combat veterans who aren't rendered afraid by the sight of the more combative forms of imps, or even battle fiends. I can teach you how to take them out...techniques that would likely prove helpful to you anyway (not to mention more weapons). Can I get your solemn oath that you'll send the muscle at need?"
Selene Corvinus With this offer laid upon the table, so to speak, Selene reaches her left hand in to her jacket pocket where she produces a small smart phone / tablet that she sets upon the table and slides toward Satana. "His name is Kraven. He's a Vampire. Older than even me... He's a capable fighter, but he's arrogant and prefers to hide behind his loyalists rather than fight his own battles. All I need is his location. My employer wants him alive for what he's tried to do to her." Selene smiles softly. "I should introduce you two some day... I think you'd like one another." She speaks of the Elder Vampire Amelia, leader of the New World Coven.

With the tablet passed over, Selene eyes it, then Satana again. "This device has more detailed information about Kraven, his allies, and what they're generally capable of, as well as leads on where we think they might be frequenting... We think he's gone underground with the leaders of the Lycans that we've come here to eradicate. He's... changed sides, to speak."

Selene then raises her chin a bit. "I have one hundred trained Death Dealers here in the United States. They will fight for you, if I ask them to. So all you need to do is there-in let me know, where, and when." She pauses and then shows a small smile. "Preferabbly at night..."
Satana "As is traditional, yes." Satana winks. "Of course, I can make it night in a small area should the need arise, but it would be better for all concerned--except my enemies--if this came down at night."

A longish pause as Satana watches Selene. Then all tension drops.

"So, business over, tell me, the little unpleasantness aside, how are things? And you fascinate me completely. You don't need to breathe, but I just watched you and you were breathing. Is this camouflage? Do you consciously do it or is it reflex?"
Selene Corvinus Selene's left hand lingers on the edge of the table after delivering that little black tablet computer to the center of the table. The question posed to her has her smiling lightly again as she glances to a passing server that drifts by their place.

She looks back over to Satana then. "I spent 19 years as a regular human from the 14th Century in the remote areas of Hungary. Breathing... still has its benefits, even today. It helps center me. It helps me concentrate as I feel it inflate my lungs and give me a better sense of the environment around me."

She smirks then. "It reminds me of when I could enjoy running out in the sun..."

"But. Thsoe days are long past. Now it's just a way to 'taste' my surroundings."

"I suppose it does help me blend in a bit better, should I need to do so."
Satana "What else do you miss from those times, I wonder?" Satana asks aloud as she picks up the tablet and looks it over. "Hmmm... I could have good use for one of these."

She looks up at Selene. "It's a hobby of mine. Technology is such a degenerate form of magic, isn't it? It's like an extreme version of rote ritual magic. But it's so much FUN to play with and enhance. Like..."

She purses her lips a moment, as if thinking how much to reveal.

"Well, let me demonstrate."

From ... somewhere about her person, but not really clear where, she pulls out a gleaming "phablet" -- an oversized smartphone. Turning it on she dials. Something on the other end answers and...

...Satana plunges her arm into the screen. There's screaming and screeching over the tinny speaker before, pulling her hand back, Satana drags a spaghettified creature of demonic visage. She holds that up long enough for Selene to see, then lets it go.

"You can use these to make transportation portals. I didn't want to bring an imp here because they cause nothing but trouble with mortals, but if I'd tugged a bit harder, we'd have had one of my house imps here among us."
Selene Corvinus The initial pondering of what else Selene might miss about her 'living days' is left unanswered. Instead the Vampire in black just watches Satana play with the tablet, then her phone. The actions with the phone has her tilting her head again, the power shown is impressive. And impressively casual.

"I'm not sure what I'd even do with that kind of ... window of potential." She quietly says back to the woman before glancing around the club. "I can only imagine the troubles an 'imp' would bring to your fine establishment here." She says as she looks back with a little grin showing once more.

"But yes, technology has changed quite a lot... rapidly ever more so. It's like... the fast food, of magic, I suppose."

"But, it certainly has its advantages. I hardly miss the days of taking weeks to get letters between contacts... Something I imagine effected someone like yourself a bit less, however..."
Satana "Oh, love, how old do you think I am!?" Satana opens her eyes in shock. "I'm not an ancient spirit of Hell, bored and jaded with Hell's politics and out here for a lark. I'm brand new! I've never lived in a world that didn't have mobile phones, and for all of my cognitive life we've had smartphones!"

She laughs, then, in genuine merriment. Or at least it seems so.

"My, how I must be talking up if you think I'm ancient! No sweetie, I'm in my 20s. I just ... studied a lot. I mean aside from torturing the wisps and imps, there's not a Hell of a lot to do Down South (pun intended, naturally). Why not study?"

Again her eyes lock with Selene's. "All this toying around and experimentation? The little insinuations that I'm interested in you physically? That's just youth speaking, Selene. I'm genuinely curious; too young to be jaded. I'm getting involved in your war because it sounds exciting and I'm young enough to think excitement is fun!"
Selene Corvinus "Mmh." Selene responds then. "I assumed it was one of the two." She quietly adds. "I've met many who are quite old, that seem to have the same... outlook on life as you. Though generally when you find those types, they are like that because they've grown so bored of 'average' ways of life. The start to seek to branch out and find new avenues of entertainment."

She shows another quick, small, smile to the other woman. "So you are just now embarking on discovery. That too, makes quite a lot of sense. Be careful though, don't let your youthful desire for new things get you in to any trouble... It's how I lose more people that way..."

Selene tips her chin up then at Satana in a nod. "Elektra, and I have been enjoying that gun you put together for us. I suspect you had a good night the night of the assassination attempt. I must've put down four or five nasty individuals with it that night. It's become quite handy..."
Satana "You have NO idea!" Satana laughs. "I was at a movie with a ... prospect." She means meal. "It was an action movie with quite a significant gore component. And I kept bucking and biting my hand to stop from screaming out loud. You managed to time uses of the gun with all the on-screen action, so my prospect, upon getting that scent that I was ... ah ... releasing, decided I was too freaky if gory violence makes me climax publicly."

Satana grins, then, in reminiscence. "I didn't even notice his departure. I was already filled to the brim and gorged. Left quite the mess on the seat too, for the ushers to clean up."

"Selene, honey, I will NEVER get tired of that gun. Use it as much as you like. It's ... delightful."

The succubus leans forward then, reaching across to grasp Selene's hand gently. "And if you want to," she adds in a husky growl, "see its effects in person, call me over next time you have a prisoner you're going to execute." She winks. "Or we could approximate it backstage in the dressing room. Manually."
Selene Corvinus The story from Satana about where she was when the gun was going off, actually makes Selene look to the right and laugh softly. Rarely does this vampire ever utter a laugh, but this actually garners one from her. "Well..." She says as she looks back across the table to the other woman. "It sounds like they weren't right for you anyway." She comments with amusement still visible upon her pale visage.

The extended reach, and taking of her room-temperature hand, has Selene showing a light smile then at the offered options to her.

"Tempting." She replies quietly. "But I'm seeing someone, if that's the right way to put it... I'm not precisely an expert on such things, as you can likely imagine. But yes. I doubt she'd be too eager for me to do anything 'manually' for another." She shows a quick smile then before she gives Satana's hand a light squeeze.

"In fact, I should probably be back on the hunt now..." She says as she starts to make to rise up from the booth. "I always enjoy our talks though."
Satana "Me too."

Satana's blunt reply is paired with a mysterious expression.

"We're in many ways of a kind, Selene. Both predators in a world that doesn't like our predation. I guess you have a community you care about and I only care about myself, mostly, but that aside, we're misfits. It's good to know other misfits who aren't demonic."

She pauses a moment.

"If I were actually able to feel that, I would say you and I were friends." The subsequent giggle is paired with a face that seems almost bitter. "But I'm not made that way. So let's call it 'comfortable allies', OK?"

She rises with Selene, and rapidly steps in close to gather Selene into a hug, pressing cheek against cheek.

"I'll let you know if my imps or I find this craven creature you hunt. And I would very much like to be there when he's captured." She steps back to give Selene back her space. "I'm a lover, as I said, not a fighter. But I do so enjoy watching fighters at work. Keep yourself hale and entertained, Selene. Until next time."
