Johnny Blaze The morning after.

Dreaded? Excited? Who knows. The only thing that was heard is not the sound of Johnny making breakfast. It's the sound of a light...humming sound? What is that? If it's investigated, it's the sound of Johnny inhaling and exhaling on the couch. He wasn't in pajamas, he was in standard jeans and shirt affair. He grunted a bit as his mind demanded he wake up, but the rest of him?

No, sleep was far better.

He seems to be wearing a blanket somewhat offset off of his person, though close inspection reveals some cuts and scratches on his clothes. Did he go out last night? Did he go be a sin-eater?
Sara Pezzini Upon waking up, warm and comfortable in her bed, Sara is immediately aware that the blisters are gone. No more itchy pain, which meant she could carefully take a shower and dress herself, once again in loose fitting clothing because they were far more comfortable. The pain of the ribs and deeper bruises was still there, but even that had let up enough that she could move.

Once clean and dressed, she quietly stepped into the living room. There were two possible things to expect, one was that Johnny was already up, and two was he would still be asleep. She found that two was the current state, and that there was more to it than him just sleeping.

Walking over to the couch, she adjusted the blanket over him better with the one good arm that worked pretty normal and for a moment just watched him sleep.
Johnny Blaze The way that bags are under Johnny's eyes suggests either minor insomnia or that he stayed up for a time to make sure that her condition didn't worsen. Johnny seems initially unaware that she's watching him sleep. He likely didn't fall asleep until the AM hours.

Sometimes, we all need someone to look after us. Even if we won't.

Maybe it was the adjusted blanket, or maybe it was the few minutes that Sara had to watch him that woke him, but Johnny eventually rubs ta his eyes as he lifts his head from the pillow, his auburn-colored hair curtaining his face as he tries to get an understanding of his surroundings. For once, he didn't wake up with a shotgun in his hands.

That's on the table.

Eventually, Johnny's eyes found her, and he gives her a soft smile. "Good morning.:"
Sara Pezzini Caught staring, Sara grins broadly, though perhaps a bit of goofiness to it, the only indication of embarrassment at being caught. "Morning," she offers, then takes a step back from the couch so he can actually have the room to get up if he wants.

"You go out last night?" she then asked bluntly, not pause, no hesitation, just asked. Most people would try to beat around the bush and get to the question, not Sara. "Also, would you like some coffee, I'm headed that way to make some."
Johnny Blaze "Morning." He repeats, starting to move himself to a seated position.

"Mhm." He comments on the aspect of going out on the town as he lifts his fingers to pinch at the bridge of his nose. He shakes his head, as if to dispel the cobwebs currently taking up residence there. "Yeah, I went out. Had to take care of something. Found something out, reported it. Ugh..I have ah eadache."

Johnny looks then at Sara. "I'd love some coffee. Thank you." He looks at her more intently though. "How are you feeling today? Any blisters and pain?"
Sara Pezzini Although she is moving slower than she normally would, Sara's over all movement is far better than it was the night before. Her left arm is holding her side, more out of need to not use that arm than the ribs however. That shoulder is still pissed off, she must have landed on it when she be blown across the part.

"Blisters are gone," she offers as she makes her way to the kitchen. "No more itchy pain. The ribs still hurt, as goes my back and left shoulder, but it's not all that bad."

She could be doing her usual, down playing the damage, or she could be telling the truth, it's hard to tell. Either way, she sets to making coffee because she needs caffeine in her life. "Left hips a bit sore as well, so I think that's the side I landed on," she then adds. She is curious what he was up to last night, but she's not going to pry. Given what happened last night, she doesn't feel it's a good idea to get in there and just pry away at his life.
Johnny Blaze It's hard to forget a kiss like that.

Yet, Johnny doesn't seem the one to impose either. Perhaps they really are birds of a feather. But Johnny studies Sara's body language. Investigates how she holds herself upright. She's favoring her side still, likely teh side that- 'I landed on' - yep, his sleuthing skills are getting a little bit better. "That makes sense. Scale of 1-10?" He questions her as he starts to stand up and folow her into the kitchen.

It's hard to tell how she really is because she's always tried being the tough gal around people. Johnny doesn't want tough, he wants honest. "Glad to hear you're doing better with the blisters and itching. Sorry you still got some internal shit to handle." Johnny cracks his neck.
Sara Pezzini Water into the pot, coffee into the filter then into the basket. Sara seems to run on autopilot while making coffee. If someone moved something, it would like throw her off entirely.

"Over all, about a seven when moving," she offers, pressing the button on the coffee maker. "Six to five when sitting down. Nothing I can't handle though," she pauses there and looks as he comes in.

Again, it's in his eyes, the way he's looking at her and she can't help but smile and even chuckle slightly. "I'm being honest," she chortles. "You asked for the truth of it, no toughing it out, so I'm trying to be honest about it. Yes, it hurts. No, not as bad at last night. Yes, I can deal with it. No, I don't have to."

She finds herself staring at him again while the coffee is brewing, mostly at his face and his eyes. She remembers that kiss, and truth be told she'd do it again if it wouldn't royally fuck everything up, so she'll just remember the wonderfulness that it was and stare at him.
Johnny Blaze "At least it's not a 8-10." Johnny attempts to comfort her, and honestly? It might even be working! Johnny's comfort mechanism has -always- been a sense of humor. Make people laugh, even grimly. Sometimes, you gotta laugh in the face of all-encompassing horrifying danger. Sometimes it's what people need in order to move on with their lives.

But honestly?

Johnny seems relieved that Sara is even doing better at all. He knows what a blast from a Seraphim feels like. It -hurts-. He's lucky he didn't walk away with more lasting injuries - or rather, he should be lucky that the Ghost Rider gestault is much harder to break. Instead of one will, you have to shatter through two. The advantage is, if Johnny's Johnny? He's much easier to kill.

Much easier.

Though he nods softly. "Fair enough." She answered in the order he would've asked the questions, though as he rests his elbows on the countertop, he can't help but notice her staring at him. His eyes gently fall to her lips. He'd do it again too. It'd fuck everything up for everyone. They walk different lives. Will there be compromise? Will there be avoidance? Johnny's gaze lingers on Sara.

Almost daring her to.
Sara Pezzini Watching where his eyes fall, Sara lifts a single brow. Yes, she would have no issues kissing him again, and again, and probably again, but the root of the problem still existed and kisses would lead to more. Johnny couldn't change who he was, a monogamous man, and she couldn't change who she was, a polyamorous woman presently in love with one Wade Wilson, and falling in long with one Johnny Blaze, the afore mentioned monogamous man.

Leaning closer, she keeps her eyes on his then whispers, "I'm not going to complicate things more than they already are, no matter how much I'd like to kiss you again." and kisses his forehead and stands back up.

"You want full disclosure Johnny?" She says after a moment of silence. "You want the cards laid on the table? Cause I'll be blunt and tell you, so long as you promise to remain my friend no matter what."
Johnny Blaze She moves closer to him, and suddenly he feels her lips on his forehead.

Though Johnny seems to nod ever so softly. Johnny was in love with Sara Pezzini. Not that it would get him anywhere, his love life has been a constant and consistent catastrophy, mianly thorugh things like this. Man, can he pick 'em. But he doesn't shy from her. He doesn't run away. He gently rubs his forehead to hers after the kiss.

"Yeah, it really would." He takes a deep breath. He knew this conversation was coming, and he puts his hands on the counter to rise up to his full height.

"Hit me with it." Johnny tells her. "I don't have a good hand to play, but I'll play it." Johnny tells her. "I'll always be your friend first, Sara. That was never going to be in doubt."
Sara Pezzini There is was, the promise to remain friends in spite of the truth Sara was about to lay on him.

"This is going to be blunt," she says, lifting her right hand to lay on his shoulders so she can look into his eyes while she speaks.

"You're an idiot," yep, that was blunt. "You let some sort of imaginary boundary define what is acceptable, and what isn't. I love you, that won't ever change, I'll keep my distance, be your friend and love you from over here."

She promised blunt, and he was getting it. "This is on you to decide," she then states. "I love Wade, I won't leave him, but I love you too. So you decide, you take the time to think it out and /really/ decide what you want Johnny, then tell me the new boundaries. Because you can have me, and I can have you, if you look past your imaginary boundaries."
Johnny Blaze Well, Johnny asked her to lay it on him.

"Not wrong." On him being an idiot. Johnny has done many foolish things in his life, falling in love and getting married at one point in his life happened to be one of them - he unintentionally put them in harms way, and now they are six feet deep. Though he tilts his head at her. "Imaginary boundary?" Johnny questions her with a frown.

He looks like he wants to say one thing. He looks like he wants to say many. It's hard to read the deadline expression in his face. "Listen, I've shared before. It didn't end well. I like it better when I'm not sharing. I know how this is going to end, and frankly, it's not going to end well." Johnny tells Sara, the pain in his eyes visible.

"I know how I feel about you. I love you too. But I'm trouble, Sara. More trouble than you think. My boundaries are not imaginary, and you are wise enough to know that." Johnny tells her with a much more hardened look than normal.

"I have my preferences for a reason, Sara."
Sara Pezzini A smile spreads across Sara's face as she steps away from the counter and leans slightly, looking him over from left side to right side, then looks up at his face. "So if you can read the future, and know how it will end, why the fuck didn't you use that power before?" She snarks.

"You could have warned us about the angels," she adds on with a snort. "What sort of bastard knows the future and doesn't do something about it?"

Enough snark, she stands up a little straighter, left hand still holding her side as the right one reaches up to caress his cheek. "You don't know shit, you just let the past influence your present and future soooo much, and you let the fear of all the 'maybes' and 'what ifs' control your decisions." The smile remains before she kisses his cheek lightly. "All boundaries are imaginary Johnny, we put them on ourselves, we let society place others on us, but when you get right down to it, to the moment, to the decision... do you let fear of the past tell you what to do, or do you grab what's in front of you?"
Johnny Blaze "I can't lose it again."

The word. Again. He's already gone through so much and already seen so much. He's a prisoner of his own soul. Even as she snarks at him, Johnny's facial expression is serious. He does not appear to be in a joking mood about it. "Ask anyone who's ever known me." Why hasn't she? Probably because most of them are deceased. Emphasis on most, there are some who probably don't mind knowing Johnny.

But Johnny seems the type that pushes people away for their 'safety'.

Though the hand that comes up to his bearded cheek is not refused, nor is the kiss that is given. "It happened before. It'll happen again. I have no desire to split your attention between two people. Wade loves you, that much is clear." Even if Johnny isn't a terribly big fan of Wade as a person, he can tell the heart is at least in the right place.

Sometimes.

"I let the lessons learned be lessons that stay learned."
Sara Pezzini Sara watches his eyes as he talks, she listens intently and hears all the words that aren't spoken, all the fears that control him. The past always haunt the present, sometimes literally. Her ex, very dead partner, Michael Yee still came by from time to time to speak to her or cheer her up when he could.

"You're assuming again," she states, stepping back. "Just because it ended in the past, doesn't mean it would end. Yes, Wade loves me and I love Wade, but you wouldn't be coming between that, you wouldn't be involved in that."

Turning back to the coffee pot, she steals him a cup and slides it down the counter toward him, then steals herself what's left. The remainder will finish brewing in time, for a second cup.

"It's alright though, I get it," she finally says. "Not worth the risk, you think you need to protect me from you, which is complete and total bullshit. Other than another Rider, I'm the only person on the planet who understands even remotely what you've been through, and what you go through. You don't have to protect me, so..." she turns around to look him in the eyes. "Look me in the eyes and tell me that's got nothing to do with it. Tell me I'm not worth a chance because of Wade, even though Wade's not a factor. Then tell me the truth, that you're too afraid of the past and I'll let it go, never speak of it again."
Johnny Blaze "Don't give me ultimatums."

Johnny states then almost in snap. He takes a deep breath. "I haven't heard Wade say the same. I don't know what your relationship is like, but odds are, it's not the kind of love you're thinking of. I don't want to hear another lover's name on your lips if we sleep together. Jealousy was the cause of my last relationship failing, and I'm the reason the third wheel is dead."

Johnny states that with some venom in his words, taking a deep breath. There's pain there. Deep-rooted. It's clear that Johnny doesn't have the best of luck. Hell, making friends was a step for him. He looks her in the eyes though, it seems he can't quite bring himself to say the words, but he seems stubborn in his stance. His eyes narrow, he's grappling with himself.

Grappling with what he knows versus the chance of happiness - of possible happiness.

There are many, many, MANY reasons why Johnny doesn't seem too keen on this, especially right now, but he goes silent for a moment, wrestling with himself.
Sara Pezzini No warning, Sara just hugs him. She never picked her coffee up, so her hands were free... sure, it hurt but it was worth it. She could tell him that Wade can't be killed, but that's not what he needs or wants to hear. She could tell him all kinds of reassuring things, but none of them would matter right now. Laying her head on his shoulder, she just hugged him.

"I didn't mean it to be an ultimatum," she says quietly, not letting go. His sharp words hurt, but she pushed too far, something she was prone to doing... just ask Cael. "I'm sorry for that."

Now she steps back, perhaps a little defeated but more understanding. "I would take your pain if I could," she then offers, picking up her coffee to add cream and sugar to it. "I could also get Wade to tell you his opinion on poly relationships, if you wanted to hear his side, but... I'll let it go Johnny, I'm sorry. I just tend to push too hard for the things I really want."
Johnny Blaze There are fates far worse than death.

Death is easy. Temporary suffering before rest, depending on the destination of the soul. Johnny has always believed that. That's why hell is hell....it's unending. It's pain. Ghost Rider is pain. Though Johnny seems a little offset by Sara's sudden embrace. Johnny doesn't refuse her, and he actually seems to wrap his arms around her in return, a deep sigh escaping his lips.

"I know you meant it in good faith. But too much can go wrong. Too much already has. I'm a fucked up person, Sara." He tells her then. "Listne, I do love you. Genuinely. But I'm aware of how it works. I know that equal is never equal, jealousy is always jealousy, and primaries become secondaries quickly." Johnny tells her. "I'm sure you and Wade are different, but right now?" He takes a deep breath.

He means what he says. He loves her. He thinks she's beautiful. He'll always be there for her at the drop of a hat, even if it's just torturing himself. He doesn't finish his sentence, rather falling into a silence. "I push hard too. It's fine."
Sara Pezzini Sara nods, taking a sip of the coffee before looking up at him for a moment and offering a smile. He knows her well enough to recognize the mask, the smile put on over all other expressions to conceal defeat or pain or sadness.

"But right now, fear wins," she finishes for him. "So be it. If and when you want to talk to Wade, hear his words yourself, let me know, other wise... consider is dropped."

She wraps her left arm back around her side to hold the ribs that ache, then true to her word, the subject changes. "You want some toast or something? I can make it, you can hit the shower, then if you're interested, I'll trim your hair."
Johnny Blaze "It's not fear."

Johnny tells her. "It's fear. Knowledge. Experience. It's an assortment of many things that form the whole of the one. I know myself, and I know you...as best as I can at the moment, anyway." He takes a deep breath. "I just can't, Sara." he tells her then. But eventually, all he tells her is:

"Consider it dropped."

He shakes his head. "No need. It's gonna get longer anyway. Besides, I'm not exactly Don Juan." He probably would look fantastic with short hair. "I'll probably hit the showers. I'm a little bit hungry, but I might go and try and find a street vendor or something." Outside of Manhattan, of course.
Sara Pezzini Another nod, and the realization that she pushed too hard and he was running, probably for the better. She'd be his friend, be there no matter what, if he came back.

"Wasn't going to cut it short," she comments, starting to head toward the living room with her coffee. "Was just going to even it out. Have a good ride, Johnny."
Johnny Blaze Johnny was in between running and figuring out his own shit. Questioning if he was just overreacting to the idea of polyamorous relationships- no, he knew what he was doing. He's a firmly monogamous man, and a stubborn one at that. He knows that it can be incredibly difficult for him (and even for others) to invest in someone intimately when they are currently intimately invested in another, namely from Johnny's perspective.

His heart is big, and he still loves her.

But he gives her a nod. "We'll see when I get back." At least he's coming back, but Johnny is hitting the showers. Hopefully he'll definitely smell better when he exits. Lotta grime to wash out.
Sara Pezzini By the time Johnny was done, Sara was on the couch with her coffee looking lost in thought. She's already showered and dressed, but considering going back to bed, in bed things don't suck, well they do, but not as much.

Glancing up she offers Johnny a nod, before looking back to the nothing. She had this magical ability to destroy friendships and relationships, so she was trying to figure out why Wade was still around and settled on the fact that he's just bat shit crazy, so probably hasn't realized he should have run by now.

"Try The Wok," she offers absently toward Johnny. "Tell them I sent you, he'll open early and make you breakfast noodles."
Johnny Blaze Johnny wasn't so much running away from her, more he just wasn't in the mood for toast.

"I'll give it a shot, thanks Sara." Johnny pauses at the door and he turns to look at her. Then he's headed into the shower. Water is running, and the heat is quickly building into a fog.
